The food is great there. Next time I go to Edinburgh definitely I will go there. I wounded if they have instagram account.

Stopped by for soup and panini before checking in to our hotel. Potato and leek soup was delicious as was the Bacon, Brie and Cranberry Panini.

On a cold and wet morning, what could be nicer than a good cup of coffee and a freshly made sandwich? And this little place certainly delivers! I'd walked down the road from a visit to Charlotte Square and the Georgian House and couldn't wait for a snack. Lola's had the longest list of sandwiches and rolls I had ever seen but also (thank goodness!) a small board with the "favourites" listed. My ciabatta roll was filled with an enticing array of ingredients including cheese, tomatoes and ham, and a delicious coffee was also served up by the very friendly lady behind the counter. There's a small amout of room to eat in - it certainly wasn't a day for sitting outside!

We hade 3 sandwiches for a picnic lunch. Loads of choice and the lady who served us was very friendly and checked how everyone wanted everything. My eldest daughter said it was the best panini she had ever had (sundried tomatoes, pesto and mozzarella) and I had the recommend salami, mozzarella, red onion and pest which was delicious. Wasn't too expensive either for 3 lunches. Made even better by sitting in the park across the way in the sunshine.

I've recently stumbled upon Lola's and what a great discovery this was. You can get a decent cup of coffee from any chain, but after several weeks of going to Lola's I can honestly say every single coffee here has been 10/10, great flavour perfect temperature and a friendly service every time. If you're in this part of Edinburgh you need to go here!

I was staying nearby during my recent trip to Edinburgh and ended up at Lola’s every day I was there. The food is delicious and fresh with lots of ingredients to choose from. The coffee is delicious and there’s lots of dairy alternatives. The staff was my favourite part. They really made us feel welcome in the city!

Whenever I come to Edinburgh on Business I have breakfast and lunch right here. The Ingredients are fresh, the staff are great and there's loads to choose from at a reasonable place. overall I cannot fault this place.

A small and very friendly sandwich bar open from 07:00, I popped in for breakfast and was keen to try one of the breakfast baps advertised on the menu. Unfortunately, despite being there fifteen minutes after opening, the hot food apparently wasn’t ready yet, so I instead went for some type of Apple Danish thing. This was actually fairly good, with a decent amount of apple filling, although the pastry was perhaps a little on the salty side. Overall the friendly staff made up for the lack of hot food, and I’d happily pop in again if in the area.

Unpretentious, friendly, homemade, affordable. Not easy to find cafe's like this so close to the city centre.

Last year, mum and I found Max Bakes. Mum had haggis and black pudding and I had feta and spinach. I had never had haggis or black pudding (always put off by the ingredients 🤦‍♀️) I tried mums and vice versa...both were delicious! This year we planned to hunt Max Bakes down, worrying he may not be here this year, and much to our delight we found him in the exact same spot! (later we found out he is a permanent fixture not just for The Fringe) We order two haggis and black pudding rolls and they were as good as we remembered! Two very happy travellers 😁

Super little cafe, welcoming and well run. Dog friendly. Menu is limited however, if they're not too busy, other options are available on request such as full English breakfast. No obvious vegan options, other than toast. Oat milk available and gluten free bread. Freshly cooked food and really nice coffee. Full of locals, which is always a good sign!
