Nice ice cream, however feel like we were very much overcharged- nearly £37 for 1 single cone 3 double cones and 1 double tub!!!!!! Will not go there again!!! Rob dogs!!

Quirky cute cafe with lovely food! Visited with my daughter for a Sunday breakfast before a walk on the beach. Cafe had a lovely beach vibe decor that was very inviting. We had the mini pancakes with strawberries & cream off the breakfast specials board plus the waffle with bacon & maple syrup. Both were delicious! Found it strange that the cafe had no toilets for customers & we were directed to go further down the road to public toilets but otherwise it was a lovely place & right next to the start of the beach/ estuary walk

Paid £3 for car park ; no receipt. Put off having food because of the unpleasant patronising attitude of the staff member.

Lovely icecream on a Sunday day did want everything tho but as a family of five we all had the icecream delicious

Avoid!! Visited yesterday morning with my family with three young children and a baby. Ordered at the outdoor window some hot drinks and multiple ice creams spending over £30 as placing the order it starting pouring it down we asked if we could sit indoors and were advised that we could. After taking our seats the manager then came out and asked us to leave as we had ordered “take away” we explained we had asked & were told we could sit inside. Had at the point of ordering when we asked we’d been told we needed to place the same order indoors then we would have done! Instead we were kicked out to the pouring rain with the baby - note the manager then also hid in the kitchen and left the young girls out the front to handle the situation. We are staying all week at the caravan park and will definitely not be returning.

Excellent service and food, as always. Staff are friendly and courteous. Excellent value full English breakfast.

Rubbish! Looked nothing like the pictures, tatty run down place and said it was open at 9.30 on a Monday. We tried to go at 10.30 am and it was closed!

Great breakfast, good quality ingredients and prompt service, especially as we were a group of 12. Highly recommended!

We visited for breakfast whilst staying at the nearby caravan park. Really enjoyed the food here, we had a full English, breakfast bap and beans on toast. All lovely and tasty. Staff were friendly on arrival and attentive throughout , we will return for breakfast again during our stay.

What a lovely place to spend a Saturday afternoon in the sunshine drinking prosecco and eating cake. Highly recommend the carrot cake and rose prosecco. Excellent customer service.

Called in for a coffee after walking my two dogs on the beach and Kiara was amazingly welcoming. Both me and my four legged friends will be back again.

I visited last bank holiday weekend and I Truly couldn’t have picked a better place to eat this is our first time eating here and all staff we very friendly I was impressed by the amount of food they have for people with allergies and alternatives as well would defiantly recommended !!

I visited with my daughter as a little treat before heading home from our caravan as she likes the setting. Have visited with my whole family many times however my sons and my husband aren't keen so they eat separately. I agreed with them in that the service is poor and staff in the main are very young and rude however I appeased my daughter. I ordered a latte, 3 pieces of toast and a slice of cake. This came to almost £9 a high price for such appalling service, and was brought to our table by a young and rude waitress. There was no sugar or cutlery which she seemed disinterested about and luckily my daughter ran around collecting them from other tables. Sadly the toast was burnt. I was really worried about how to handle this as I have had another occasion when it was very burnt and upon asking if I could have another was spoken to very rudely, and reluctantly given another. This wasn't brought over until just before we left when we'd actually finished breakfast. This situation was so uncomfortable it led me to ask that the toast be lightly done before ordering to avoid a confrontation with the staff on future visits. I had forgotten to ask on this occasion. An older lady came out of the kitchen, I presume the boss, absolutely furious and said I was trouble, and to never come in again. She said everyone ate her toast cooked this way and I'd been difficult before. The young waitress mocked me and said its not inedible and you ask for it this way. I was truly shocked by them. They said I asked for burnt toast just to cause trouble! I can honestly say I have never experienced anything quite like it and was quite shaken. I already knew them to be indifferent and rude but this was something else. I will now eat with the rest of the family at the bakery and look into other places that treat their customers with respect Before I left I took a picture of the toast just to prove I wasn't being as unreasonable as they said and asked for my money back for the toast. I even asked my daughter to try to eat it, provoked by their bullying. Incidentally the toast displayed on their Facebook page looks nothing like this, and very good. Please if you value your self esteem, avoid .

Called in for a bite to eat with friends on the way to an impromptu visit to the beach. We ordered full breakfasts which were fantastic. The waitress who served us (Keira I think) was very attentive and gave us great customer service. We will be back to the beach again if not only to call in again here.

For the 4th time in 6 months, we return here time after time. This time, we brought my partners sister from Italy here, and she fell in love with the place. My partner and her sister are Coeliac and for them, it is so refreshing to go somewhere that truly understands this. We all chatted to the owner regarding this and she is Coeliac herself. The food is really the best quality and we can not wait to return.

I’ve been here a few times now and I swear you’ll never see so many miserable people working in one place. A smile or manners should be the minimum expected at a place like this, here you get neither. I actually felt like apologising for bothering them! 🤦🏻‍♂️

What can I say I visited every day with the Granchildren and dog. Staff and food amazing. If I am in the area again we will definitely be back .

After a morning bike ride with the kids along the path from Prestatyn to talacre, we stopped in for a breakfast. Food was delicious and really good value for money. Manager went above and beyond to cater for our fussy 5 year old daughter. Would recommend and will defo be using again.

Visited here on our day out to Talacre, couldn’t fault the place. Lovely and clean, staff very helpful, and lots of choice on the menu. Breakfasts were lovely, and lots of flavours of ice creams for the kids to choose from. Will definitely be visiting again

Mediocre food for a hot spot staff are awful they dont smile and hang around the kitchen and ignore.

Place looked lovely & inviting. Decided to stop here for a ‘real’ ice cream. Girl serving couldn’t have been any less polite. Also wasn’t wearing a mask or gloves, handling ice cream cones with her bare hands, noticed her coughing into them just after we’d paid. All 3 ice creams went in the bin.

This place must only stay in business due to its location because the staff clearly have no customer focus ...went for breakfast, no one met us at the door or told us what to do.....waited ages for the food,,,,,added bacon to my scrambled eggs on toast £4 for one rasher wow!....no cutlery or napkins arrived with the food and we had to ask... didnt know where the brown sauce was...staff masks seemed optional

I would've loved to have given this cafe a positive review as it looked lovely. However, I ordered a vegetarian breakfast and stated that I was dairy free (I asked if the scrambled eggs had milk in and was told its fine they were fried eggs, so I said okay, that my daughter has an allergy and I'm breastfeeding). When our order came out I took a bite of the vegetarian sausage which turned out to be one of those cheesy vegetable type ones, and both of our toasts had normal butter on. My 5 month old had such a big reaction later on and was absolutely miserable. I think the staff need to pay more attention to what is said (they didn't seem very on the ball) and take much more care of allergens, luckily my daughter isn't anaphylactic! Also, on top of that my 5 year old had a waffle. It came out totally raw in the middle. Didn't realise until he'd eaten most of it and his dad went to eat what was left. Not good.

Very disappointed with the boss, who wouldn't compromise a large breakfast for a child, my daughter would not eat a big breakfast and when asked for certain things for her was told she would not do it, I said well can you not even for a child the other ladies were happy to, she said well I'm the boss!!!! Disgusting attitude to a family resort wouldn't visit again Very rude!!

Had a lovely breakfast. Staff really lovely. We really recommend it. Nice and clean. Sells ice cream and hot cold drinks.

First visit here. There was a long queue but this moved quickly so don't be put off. Friendly,smiley and efficient staff. The waffle was yummy. A bit pricey at £7.50 but it was a nice holiday treat. Would visit again :)

Visited here with my daughter on Good Friday. We had driven down to Talacre for a walk on the beach and sand dunes and called here for a coffee and ice cream on our way back. What lovely staff - so helpful, polite and full of smiles. We needed ice cream that was gluten free - this proved no problem at all as we were given a list of suitable flavours which was great. The owner Lisa attended to make sure our order was ok for us- a lovely lady, very helpful. At the moment, due to the coronavirus pandemic just the kiosk is open but there is also a cafe which will hopefully be opening later at the end of May for food orders. Everything is set up with COVID rules in place - all details applied so a very safe environment. Highly recommended to anyone taking a trip to the beach. The coffees and ice cream were delicious. We will definitely be returning and will try the cafe too when it opens. Thanks very much to Lisa and her staff.

Stopped off after a walk for an ice-cream which my partner and daughter fancied. 2 young girls serving. What put me off completely was the fact the girl serving the ice-cream wasn't wearing gloves!!. Plus no wrapper round the cones to hold either. Not only that,there was a wasp landing on the cones which were displayed in a stand on the counter. Ok if you're using these as display and get fresh cones from a covered container/box but oh no she was using them for the ice-creams. I pointed out there was wasps walking all over the cones to which she replied yeh they've been doing it all day! Sorry but no thanks!

We visited twice. Lovely seating area but most importantly, the most delicious ice cream ive ever had.

Often pop in here when we’ve stayed at my partners family caravan in Presthaven down the road. We had lunch in the cafe which is nice back in April 2019 and on our last visit myself, partner, his sister and her family stopped off for some ice cream from the ice cream parlour on site, lovely ice cream. Last visited August 2019

Stopped off for lunch after a walk on the beach. Dogs are allowed in the cafe which is great! The service and food was excellent! Cannot fault the quality of the food, was all homemade and excellent!!

Popped in after a walk on the beach. Basic is the key word. Service was not particularly friendly and the hot chocolate had disgusting clumps of skin running through it. Wasn’t particularly clean.

Had lunch here reasonably priced food the coffee was lovely. Would recommend although it is tiny and could get busy I am guessing during the summertime.

Lovely cafe, very quirky. We had hot chocolate & pancakes, delicious. Could do with a bigger selection of cakes as it would have been nice to take one away. I found it a little strange though that it doesnt have toilet facilities, wouldn't have thought it was legal to trade if staff/customers are unable to use bathroom facilities? We would go again when in the area, just need make sure I dont need a wee!

After a lovely sunny walk on the beach with our dog, we were delighted to sit down to a tasty full english. Great quality food at a very reasonable price. Service was friendly and prompt and our dog was welcomed into the cafe. The Cheshire Ice cream farm ice-cream had to be sampled afterwards of course. This cafe makes Talacre a lovely day trip destination.

Called in for breakfast. It was lovely, very well cooked and presented. Sat in the garden. Very nice. Shame theres no loo, but there is good signage letting you know. We live quite local so will definately be back :) :)

We go to Talacre as it is literally the nearest beach to us. We never stop at the "attractions", shops selling stuff to go into landfill and coin push machines. Really.However, last visit we really needed coffee and cake and popped into Lola and Suggs. Staff were friendly and relaxed, coffee was great and the cakes were good including a couple of gluten free options.In a recent conversation a local asked us why we went to Talacre. Well, the beach is fine on a nice day and the dogs enjoyed the space. And Lola and Suggs is fine for a coffee and cake break.

During a holiday at Talacre Beach holiday park we visited this cafe for breakfast one morning.

Living in the local area I walk my dog in Talacre regularly as this is a dog-friendly cafe it is a perfect location to catch up with friends over a coffee. I've always felt welcome and the cafe is always clean and tidy. My favourite thing here is the mini pancakes served with Nutella and ice cream I just have to be careful with my waist line due to the prices being so affordable. I've read previous reviews which constantly mention this establishment being ran by children as I'm local I have never seen more than two children working in this cafe, although at these times it was weekends and school holidays. In my opinion I believe the boss should be praised for taking young children on in a working environment as it gives them an experience of the real world.

Have had ice cream here a few times in the past-NEVER again.

Just a thought, when your in the cafe business and rely on customers and reviews, perhaps be nice.

We have a van at Talacre and I absolutely love the sandwiches and often pop in for lunch. You can use the toilet in The Point if need be if you are eating in there. It’s dog friendly too. The staff are not miserable, I just think hospitality is one of the must under appreciated jobs out there. My daughter loves the baked potatoes and the breakfast is always good to soak up a hangover

Recently visited Lola and Suggs with family and friends.

Nice cafe but service poor uninterested staff ..approached the counter to order food 2 staff talking by the ice cream counter one member making coffee who looked at me then looked away thought I'd give it a moment then the girl shouted over to the other two are you doing anything they both looked over but fisnt respond.....was just about to leave when a sulky member of staff came over took my order without a smile or thank you ordered two flat whites a cold drink and food .drinks arrived two Americans with separate warm milk think a bit of barista training is needed 2 shots espresso milk and foam ..anyway coffee was very weak unacceptable, cold drink plonked on the table, no do you want a glass.

I came across this place as was staying with friends caravan on ok 1... was famished so decided on lola and Suggs. The decor was stunning and very clean... I asked politely if they had gluten free and no reply from this lady but a gesture of a stretched arm and pointed finger pointing to a sign saying gluten free served here. well I was disgusted with the manners of this woman and got up and left. Lady I don't know if your the owner/proprietor but a course in common manners won't hurt. The lady is around 55 56 should at least have manners as customers are keeping the premises in buisness. Shame really it's a beauty of a cafe.

This is a nice little cafe with friendly staff that sells ice-creams and has a small cafe and some tables outside. We had the salmon and cream cheese bagels, which were prepared nicely, and some tea and coffee. A great little place to stop off for some refreshment. Only one minor problem, they don't have toilets. Just watch out as the adjoining pub would like to charge 50p to use their toilet if not one of their customers!

We visit Lola and Suggs quite often. They do a lovely breakfast. Great light lunches. It's good that it is dog friendly too. I think it is run by the same people who have the Point Restaurant and bar next door.

After quite a long cycle ride then a visit to the RSPB bird hide near Talacre we called into this establishment for refreshments. We were served by friendly staff with very good coffee and cake.

On been in Talacer 3 days and that's two visits ice cream twice and a tuna sarney all lovely and reasonably priced loved open air eating and dog friendly

Talacre Beach cafe right on the entrance to the sand dunes and the Point of Ayr Walking/Cycling trail. Perfect for a light lunch/coffee/cake or ice cream before walking it off on the beach. Car park close by. Cafe has been tastefully and cleverly designed with a seaside theme inside and out. Home cooked Ham salad £5.99 (not mean with the slices of ham) and the very tasty southern fried Fish Pollock at £5 bargain Nice chatty staff and kitchen staff in their clean whites . All clean and tidy but no toilets here There are some public toilets up the road. Recommend you try here ☀️

I have never been to a cafe with so many rules, everywhere you look there is some kind of rule. Such as no ice cream cones and tubs in the cafe, full clothing and shoes to be worn or no service, no toilets etc etc. It was more like a prison cafe than a family one.

We came in to buy the children ice creams, the cafe looks lovely, extremely clean and welcoming, however they have poster pictures everywhere saying you can’t do this, you can’t do that etc.

I don't know why people have called this cafe as we go in daily, so friendly, food and especially flat white and tea brilliant, lovely to call in when you have been for a walk on the beach, we'll be there again Monday through to middle June.

Lovely little cafe with good home cooked food. Breakfast is cooked fresh, and plenty of it. Comes with toast and tea. Very friendly with the customers. Dog friendly too.

We came across this cafe by accident when we walked out dogs at Talacre and really glad we found it.

As usual when we go to or stop in Talacre we called in for lunch, had our favourite ham sandwich on white, portion of chips, a coffee and genuinely THE best pot of tea I’ve ever had. Staff were lovely and even though a slight delay of one of the sandwiches, when we asked they apologised and offered us extra drink. We absolutely love this place and have never experienced any of the issues other have mentioned. Be there again in July and can’t wait.

Just visited here today and ordered the hot cheese and tomato ciabatta . When it arrived lots of the cheese wasn't melted and as it was cheap rubbery mozzarella I took it back and asked for it to be cooked further. They did this and returned with my ciabatta but again there was still a big clump of cheese and a cherry tomato with a spit at the top filled with mould. I was asked if it was ok, I said not really but it would have to do. I picked off the cheese and ate some of the bread. Total waste of money, run by too many kids who at no fault of their own lack experience. I didn't bother sending the food back again as I didn't think it was worth the effort. I will not return, I will go to the chippy next time!

We had walked the dogs on the beach & decided to sit outside for lunch. No problems with customer service, pleasant, helpful staff, yes it was busy but the food was fresh prepared hot & tasty. Really good value for money.

Having visited family in Rhyl on the bank holiday weekend, we decided to call in at Talacre to walk the dog and grab a bite to eat. We hadn't been there before so wanted see what it was like.

I really enjoyed my food at Lola and Suggs, most of the staff was very friendly. One lady in particular I think she may have been the manager. I have never received poorer service. I listened to how this lady spoke to other customers, then she served me with the worst attitude I have ever encountered. They was not particularly busy. ( I Owen a cafe myself, I no what busy is) she was as just plain rude to every single customer she served while I was there. Other than that. Lovely food! Really cute cafe.

Ordered 2 hot ciabatta sandwiches which arrived 2 minutes after my partner ordered them. Told the server they wouldn’t be ours as we had literally just ordered them. The chef then came out insisting they were ours which I contested. They were cold and hard with congealed cheese. She said they’d been in the oven... (for what 2 minutes???) they didn’t want to hear our complaint -We asked for a refund....

Had the full english breakfast here this morning. 6.95 for a full english. Very nice, good quality and big portions. Nice location near the beach

Got to laugh at the reviews about toilets. Called in one morning after walking our dog we found the staff friendly and keen we ordered sausage bap and a bacon bap and coffee. all was hot served with a smile very clean inside and out dog friendly our dog is very nervous normally bit had no trouble having a quick nap here we will definitely be back ps the sausages we're good quality.

Mid week mid day visit. Just wanted a tea and coffee which we got. Staff were polite and quick, bathrooms were clean. - the place is a restaurant/bar with interesting decor, but don’t know what it’s like for evening meals or late nights.

There are free toilets 100m up the road so not sure what the other reviewers issue is.

Good food at a reasonable price. Not a posh establishment bur friendly staff. No toilets but modern clean toilets nearby. Only real moan was £2 car parking fee for a mid morning snack. Probably good value if you were to spend the day at Telacre. While we were in the café a small number of people visited who were obviously regulars - this speaks for itself.

Good facility for refreshments after a day or walk on the beach. Prices average considering they have a captive audience. Notice saying there is no toilet but did not point direction to public toilet (we found this on the window of another cafe).

What would you expect from a café that is named after the owners dogs? Made very welcome with our mutt Rai if your in the area I recommend calling in for a cuppa anytime

Beautifully decorated, dogs allowed inside, treats for them as well, excellent tea/coffee and brilliant Bara Brith! I've read the reviews regarding staff friendliness I can only speak as I find, the older staff are friendlier but all of them are very pleasant.

Visited with family and friends for breakfast, thought we’d found a nice place but the staff are very poor and indifferent to their customers. They were sultry and dismissive. We paid for breakfast in advance and after 30 minutes waiting we asked where our food was to be told the chef is very busy and we’d have to wait. Five more minutes and I asked again to be told by a different waitress, that the order hadn’t been placed - as if this were our fault, even though we’d paid in advance. An argument between the waitress and chef eschewed but no apology to me. We got our money back and left. I couldn’t in all honesty recommend this place. it’s a real shame but the owners need to address the very poor quality of service and lack of basic customer care.

This place could be great with a few tweaks, it doesn’t have a toilet for starters and there’s no signs to say where the nearest one is. The staff are not at all friendly or helpful, to the point that if there was any serious competition the place would close down. The menu says gluten free options, when we asked for gluten free

Bought an ice cream for my grand daughter. One scoop £2.20 - nice ice but rather pricey not that special.

We were able to sit inside with our dogs and eat. So glad businesses like these are increasing. Lovely food, dog friendly and nice staff.... Result!

I was so excited when we stumbled across Lola and Suggs, a proper beach cafe, so decided to take my son as a treat while we were on holiday.

Amazing ice creams and friendly service. Well worth a visit. Dog friendly place and parking nearby. You can only eat inside if your ice cream is in a bowl. They provided the dietary information on their ice creams with no problems at all.

On a sunny day what could be better than siting on a picnic bench with a tub of turkish delight ice cream. Plenty of ice creams to choose from.

We have visited the cafe many times over all seasons with our dogs before or after walks on the beach.

Good range of flavours which the kids really liked. You can get cheaper ice cream but is delicious and there is some seating outside in the shade to eat in when the sun is fierce.

Lovely food and great little area to sit outside. The only problem was the staff behind the till wasn't very pleasant and looked like she couldn't be bothered to even smile. This was only 1 young girl the rest were okay. Make sure you look after customers as it's not a good sign when you first walk in some were and your not greeted with a smile or how can I help. The jacket potato and panini came without onions on both when asked for these at the till. Really cute place and lovely area shame about the friendliness. When food was served it was 'You ordered food'

After a lovely walk on the beach I visited this cafe with my mum. We had lovely coffees which tasted yummy and hot. We had crab cakes and salad from the special board which tasted beautiful and a smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel which was beautiful as well. The service was wonderful! The staff were friendly and attentive. We sat outside with our dogs but they kept coming out and checking we were okay and saying we could take the dogs inside with us - which was lovely. Will definitely visit again when we go the beach again!

This cafe is in a great location just a short walk from Talacre beach. We had a very nice lunch there, portion size was just right and tasted lovely. Will definitely visit again!

Stopped here for ice cream and cold drinks. The ice cream is lovely. The cafe is reasonably sized, but fills up quickly. Looks like a decent menu and the food looked good.

Lovely quirky little cafe where me and my son enjoyed a good English breakfast consisting of bacon, eggs,sausage,mushrooms,beans a hash brown and a round of thick toast..

Had breakfast here yesterday, the food was fantastic as was the coffee. Contrary to some reviews I've read I thought the food was very reasonably priced. Also had an ice cream the previous day, again generous scoop and very tasty.

Visited for brekki 27th June 2018. I have to say the breakfast was lovely. Freshly cooked and enough to set you up for the day. The staff were very friendly and gave us information on castles in the area. Going for breakfast again tomorrow.

Visited here 26th of june , for some lunch . Counter staff , need customer relations course ,they seem very indifferent and abrupt . Ordered food , nothing spectacular it took 35 mins to arrive at table and even then only two out of three got thier meal . Third person had to wait a further 5 mins .

We visited on 26th June, as we were leaving the beach. The place looks well kept and clean. From the menu, there seems to be a decent selection of ice cream available, along with a wide range of coffees... errrm NO!

Beach themed cafe. Called for lunch. Tasty food and coffee. Although menu not extensive especially for vegetarians but what we had was great. Cakes looked delicious although we didn't try them.
