We have used this chip shop for years but it has been going downhill for a while now. On our last visit the chips were soggy and extremely greasy and one of the members of staff came in from having a cigarette outside and started to serve people food without washing her hands. Sadly we won't be going back its a pale shadow of its former self. Time to find a new chippie.

Lovely clean shop and good Service. I had donor meat and chips for only £5. the portions were big and the chips were done perfect, the donor was very tasty and you also had a choice of sauce.

Was worried about ordering after I checked the reviews but the food is great. I got a box with fish sausage fish cake chips and a choice of hot sauce and its great value came red hot and was cooked perfectly. Will definitely order again. Great value chippy usually cost an arm and a leg

Burgers were burnt chicken tikka bland and tasted nothing like tikka service was slow even on phone order , chips were over cooked , when arrived to pick up food the staff was arguing over money waste of 20 pound.

Worst fish and chips ever.the peas were ilumines ,would have sent back but i was starving .,i have never written a complaint about anything but this was unacceptable

Chips were typical chippy quality and taste nice. Fish was cooked but the batter wasn't crispy. Pale all over and soggy in parts. Chicken nuggets were nice and crispy. Portion size, we had a large sausage and chip special there was about a handful of chips. Mini fish and chip portion was very good value for the size.

The food was shocking, medium Kebab looked terrible and not worth £8.50, small fish chips and peas tasteless left more than half of it. Ordered many a time from there but never again.

Kept changing the delivery time thats why an hour late and when my food eventually arrived it was only warm not hot.

Forget this place.. not used in a long time and wow has it gone to the dogs. Shows the times we are in and type of people taking over the town.. as you can see for yourselves , their responses to some people are at the standard of the food.. shame

Stingy portions sizes and far from flavourful food. Worst chippy I’ve been to to be honest. At least it was hot.

The portions per box was surprisingly different one box the chips were small the fish was in one piece the other box the chip portion was a great deal larger.. the fish was into two pieces for no reason. The mushy peas were still crunchy and not so much as mushy, the taste seemed to have some mustard taste to it?

I have used this chip shop for years and even when it was taken over I've never had a bad meal. Each time I have gone to the shop the staff are friendly and efficient and speak perfectly good (stokie) English 🤣. Thanks for a great service!

Was expecting a kebab but got lamb instead, which was surprising but good now I know what it is bit confused at first as to the order book that I received as I was expecting normal Doner Kebab mint I’m not a lamb but that’s even better cause I received a proper good Male recommend everyone gives him again. I used to come here for years, but since it was taken over, it's gone completely down hill. Had to wait ages for the food to be cooked, all the while, having the people behind the counter, talk at me in different languages. Whilst waiting for my food, someone else came in to order and as part of their order, they asked for a pie. To which, I saw a member of staff take one out of the freezer and then proceed to heat it. I couldn't believe my eyes. The warmers were all completely empty. No point in them even being there, let alone switched on. There was no gravy at all, so even had to wait for that to be made. Got the food home to find the peas were stone cold. As though they'd just been poured from a tin, directly into the polystyrene cup. The batter on the fish was so anemic, it was practically the same colour as the fish inside. After more than 10 years, going to this chippy, I can honestly say that tonight, I've had my final meal from there... They clearly know nothing about how to run a proper fish & chip shop. Sad day indeed. Since it was once the best chippy in the area. The owner trying to lie in their response, only points out just how bad this place is, now it's been taken over. You told someone on here a month ago that you'd been there for 2 years, now you're trying to tell me 3 years. Can't keep track of your own lies. I do know for a fact that everything I said was the complete truth because I saw it all with my own eyes. It wasn't late at night, it was only sometime after 6pm. Your staff weren't speaking English. Your staff DID take a pie straight from the freezer (which is not fresh cooking) and the peas were stone cold! As for the batter on the fish - it should be GOLDEN, not almost white. Everyone local knows just how long it's been since you took over, so stop trying to lie online to fool other people. You're a disgrace and you've dragged the loftus name down into the dirt!... and I'm not the first person on here to say as much!

The delivery time kept changing due to the restaurant/drivers being busy

Food was cold and had to warm it up and did not taste the same. Last time was so hot on delivery, this time was nearly cold. Not happy.

Was really nice and still hot on delivery. Really enjoyed it. Would recommend fish, chips and mushy peas from here. Was delicious.

Food got mixed and allergy s wouldn't allow us to eat . So not gud today

On this occasion, the chips were really greasy and the fish was over cooked. Really disappointed £18 in the bin over priced as well.

Tasted bland and not worth the money.

Fritters were more batter than potato, one was almost see through, curry sauce was watery & tasteless, sausage was dry, chips were rubbery and hard! Only decent food was the mushrooms. Won’t be ordering again

Excellent food once again! Fresh and hot.

Ordered food was told they would have to cook our battered sausages but we had to wait for chips anyway so no problem. We were the only people in the shop when we ordered. After waiting for 10 minutes the chips were ready but they hadnt bothered cooking the sausages for us so another 5 minute wait. Terrible service more bothered about online orders than the people standing in front of them. Used to go here every weekend but since it was took over has gone down hill.

First time ordering from here the food arrived very hot and lots of care was taken to make sure nothing spilled, chips were delicious and so was the gravy and curry sauce. We ordered two jumbo sausage box meals and they were so tasty would come again :)

When I've got the money I trade myself I read fish chips curry mushroom peas Donna meat and the other one absolutely beautiful stuff excellent well worth going to see my dog loves some donor meat and he just put it on a plate and he's absolutely enjoys it

Not good sf chicken wasn't fresh it was out of a packet and the peas weren't mixed properly as they clumped together and were powdery.

Bought mum and dad fish and chips a few nights ago, in short, they had to throw them in the bin, chips were dry as though they had been warmed up from lunchtime and the fish was practically raw, not great at all, this chippy used to be the best but something has changed for the worse I'm afraid

Delivered wrapped in foil so food was nice & hot, not many places take the time or trouble to do this & it really helps The bread crumbed fish from this shop is outstanding, so very good & even tho fish has gone up in cost so very much it is worth it from here, it’s that good. Chips were ok, peas & gravy were very tasty Would definitely recommend highly for the fish alone

Please please cook your food utilizing a food thermometer at least until you get used to how long it takes to cook the various food types you sell. We had a fish in breadcrumbs freshly cooked sorry to say but it was so overcooked and hence extremely dry, it was cooked for 6 to 8 minutes when 4 minutes would have been adequate. As said above please utilize a food thermometer.

Order was wrong tryed phone the restaurant too correct the order to be told they could complete the order and was quite rude about it no offer of refund told my husband they tryed phone and our phone number is wrong we have check and all details are upto date overall disappointing

Chips, chicken, gravy etc were perfect but the doner meat was carved way too thick which spoiled the kebab, hence the lower rating.

The food came fast and hot but the chips were soft and soggy and the plaice was tasteless and soggy. Shame because their chips used to be really nice. The whole meal was disappointing I won't be ordering again.

lukewarm old stale chips.....dry fish chewy batter.....not of merchantable value for the purpose intended....used Loftus a few years ago and the food was top quality and succulent.....perhaps they have new owners now? won't be using it again not for the price its not worth it

Everything had issues undercooked chips Fish was soggy batter stuck to box Chicken burger stuck to the bun and pulled batter off Doner meat was very thick and cold Chicken doner I could have sanded my out door table with it,dry crusty and looked 3 week old How the staff left that leave is beyond me Gravy peas and curry we ok but other than that wouldn’t have served it up to my dogs

Superb Quality and quick Delivery

Didn't hold out much hope when I pulled up here for fish and chips but was actually really pleasantly surprised when I got back in the car and scoffed them. Will 100% be back, they are the best I have had in the Stoke area and I have tried quite a lot of them being that fish and chips is my favourite food

Wish I could give it 10 stars!!! Absolutely hands down best fish and chips I've ever had. Large battered cod was like something you see on a poster. Thick, chunky brilliant white. Arrived piping hot. Just gorgeous!

Not good at all. Ordered a burger that came with one sauce, no salad, no onion or tomato, not even a hamburger bun instead some weird type of bread lol. Absolutely tasteless. Very dissapointed and will not be ordering again :(

OK at best, paid for large full box of just kebab meat but received half meat and half chips, different menu options and different prices, the large fish i would describe as medium at best, (more flaky batter than fish)certainly not the moneys worth, over all food was OK just didn't get what i ordered and was quite pricey compared to other and better chippies

The service was good and was ready in time However, the food was a let down threw most of it away. Husband had sausage and gravy hardly any gravy he had to make more. The fish was very bland and soggy and the sausage wasn't the best. I've had much nicer but thought we would give it a go. Won't be buying from there again.

Awful Used to be so good when it first opened, all the staff are miserable. Had 'salad' and it was brown, food was cold. Not good at all.

Gone from one of the best fish and chip shops in the area to the worse. Never have chips ready. Donner meat shrivelled up and you need a hammer and chisel to get through the chicken and when you do it was drier than the Sahara 🏜. Prices have gone sky high as well. Don't bother wasting your money here.

We got home , there was a fish missing and this was the state of the pudding . All mush like it had been sat in water . It was disgusting . The chips were soggy and the fish batter has no crisp to it at all . Everything is just soggy . Donor meat is stale . Won’t be going there again! Lost good customers as we used to go here all the time

OMG absolutely the best chippy. Unfortunately due to Covid travel restrictions we are unable to travel from Australia to visit our family in Stoke on Trent. We always make sure we have chips, pudding, mushey peas with curry sauce at least once a week when we go over. Absolutely fantastic. OMG I would love to be eating it now. Can't wait.
