Loft Bar Bistro in Liverpool

Staff all sit behind the bar laughing, they don’t serve any of the customers all need to be fired terrible service worst in Liverpool.

Booked online for early tea on Xmas eve. Arrived to be informed by doorman that a private event was on so our booking would not be honoured. He said there was an issue with the online booking system - the one that had asked me to confirm 2 days earlier and said thank you when I did! If they know there is an issue then either fix it, leave a message on it or check it daily. We won’t be going back.

Turned up after prebooking. Horrible doorman told us it was full. Wouldn't check with the staff inside to check our booking. Pretty much told us to f off. Couldn't believe it. Won't be revisiting. Looked packed and not particularly safe so probably done is a favour

Have been twice now since the reopening, Ive give only 2 stars in the hope that someone will take note. The food was really nice. Staff are trying hard, we had no issues at all. Drinks where fine, although a drinks menu would be better on the table rather than having to lean over other diners to see the drinks boards on the walls( not good for social distancing) The MUSIC is absolutely awful, someone needs to have a look aroung and check out the average age of customers and play music more suited to that age group, although there is always the possibility that the management are trying to attract 18 -20 year olds, we won't be going back. which is a shame.

Visiting on the first Saturday the loft reopened and it was great to see the place reopen with polite staff. Unfortunately the social distancing was very poor as there are a number of tables that were not 2m apart. I also understand That the staff are new and that is why I haven’t marked the place right down however, the organisation of the table service was poor. At one point I could see my drinks but it took over ten minutes to move them the 2.5m from the bar to our table. The frustrating thing is other people’s drinks get kept putting in front of them. A couple left as they waiting over 25 mins to even order their drinks. Please use this feedback as co structure criticism and set up a more robust system. I know you are fresh and new but you need to keep the customers tables full or we won’t come back!

My friend and I both had Sea Bass and it was delicious. Really good value for money and the staff were amazing. Definitely recommend to my family and friends. Gill Woolton Village

Visited Friday 13th March!!! Awful service. Booked in advance for 5 seated and 2 babies who needed high chairs. Turned up and no table was reserved. We had to put our own chairs together to a table whilst my wife looked for another high chair as it took staff 20 minutes to find another one?? Our food order came. Well our table got one starter and forgot about the rest and brought our mains out. So they took the mains away whilst they brought our starters. The mains came and they were ok. Not the best service/food I've had in the area. Not for me.They knocked 20% off the bill but its not good enough especially being out for my dads birthday!

The usually Christmas night out Christmas Eve and the loft are charging £10 to get in TO GET IN at half 5 in the afternoon over packed just another sell out pub trying to think they are a big deal because they had a refit, atmosphere is terrible the food is average mainly all supermarkets bought and putting garnish on it to make it look fancy. So basically if your reading this save yourself the money and got to a real pub in woolton like the coffee house , gardeners the Cobden and don’t feed the gready owners of this terrible run “pub/restaurant”

We stopped off here for a few drinks, After having a look at the menu we decided to eat, The choice was excellent. Really did not expect the quality of food and service fro the loft. Food,quality,Service,All 5 ****. The excellent staff really did make sure everything was perfect.. They really do have an Excellent Chef. Thank you.

After a busy and stressful day with my sister in law who was arranging her grandmother's funeral, we stopped at the loft which is our regular haunt for something to eat. After an emotional day we were greeted by the lovely Adele who was an absolute guardian angel. The food as always was exceptional but the compassion we received from Adele really helped on a very stressful and emotional day. I really can't praise her highly enough.

Visited with my wife and sister in law for early afternoon lunch. Great Choice on menu and was on offer for reduced price - time of visit. The menu at full price say in an evening is still excellent value. We had mains and desserts as the bread and dips beforehand negated the necessity for a starter. Good wine choice at reasonable prices - will definitely revisit when next in Liverpool

Great choice on the special menu before 6pm, warm friendly staff , food was amazing ***** didnt expect it to be as good considering the price ., Lamb chops fantastic accompanied with rice salad and potatoes with the Seabass cooked to perfection> Lovely young waitress serving very pleasant and helpful ,, Cant wait to go again and try something else , Oh and dont forget the free Turkish homemade bread and dips for starter xxx fab

Lovely food, and cheap menu. You will get 2 course meal for £10 which is lovely before 6pm also a free sharing bread with dips which is lovely and freshly made also have offers on drinks. Most times it is very busy so it is hard to get a table but worth the wait

Booked here for a birthday meal and post meal drinks. Couldn’t fault it at all. The food was fantastic and superb value with everyone really enjoying their meals. We had a brilliant night!

I visited with my sister and my new born son. The waiter (josh I think) was really friendly, food was very nice and didn’t have to wait long as it was early in the afternoon so it was pretty quiet. Will definitely visit here again.

Went here for fathers day and was extremely excited to try somewhere new! I can't fault the food it was absolutely amazing, I would definitely recomend the king prawn starter. Our waitress however completely ruined our experience. When we asked for our bill she came over with the card machine and said 'is it on card' then rushed us into paying. Whilst the payment was being processed another member of staff whispered something in the waitresses ear and she decided to run off to the other side of the restaurant with my dads card still in the card machine! It is so unprofessional and resulted in my Dad freezing transactions on his card in case of fraudulent activity. After we got rushed to pay and my Dad eventually got his card back we properly looked at the bill we noticed we had been charged for quite a few things we hadn't ordered. When we pointed it out the waitress was completely clueless and just stared blankly at us for at least 3 minutes. She went behind the bar and 15 minutes later came up and gave us £23.00 in cash and said she doesn't know how to put money back on a card machine. Again, unprofessional. Completely ruined our experience and won't be going back.

A great bar, decor, service , food , great atmosphere , relaxed friendly staff, good service.Its hidden away but well worth finding food wise.

Food Great however very loud atmosphere and could hardly hear ourselves talking. Other than that the service and food fantastic.

Our party visited for a drink on a Saturday evening. Staff are hard working. There is live music but it is so loud you can’t hear a word anyone shouts !!

Well what a shame, a lot pf money has been spent on this place, of late and it does look good, there are no issues with the staff or management, they are doing well, this is not an issue regarding food, we wen't for a drink just before Christmas, 6 young men were snorting cocaine in the toilets, a number of people where complaining, apparently they where warned by the security staff not evicted but warned!!!, the mind boggles, I heard this conversation on the way out, Security Staff:- "Ive warned them and told them to stop going into the toilets in a group and just go in 1 at a time"

Every year, my mum, my brother and myself get together for a meal on the first Saturday in December. This is our first time here. Food was absolutely amazing. Atmosphere was fantastic. Only draw back was the loud music. Will call again in the week

I don’t know where to start, we had a great time at the Loft! Me and my partner went around 2pm on Sunday for our dinner. We had hummus for a starter, which arrived with complimentary dips and a huge freshly baked naan bread. Warm and delicious. For main I had Adana lamb kebab and my partner had lamb roast dinner. Both dishes were absolutely scrumptious and generous portions. We had some drinks and I took advantage of two double gins for £12. What a bargain! Food was very reasonably priced too. Staff was attentive and very polite. We’ll definitely come back.

Excellent value and superb food served between 12 noon and 5 pm £12.95 for 2 courses. You will not be disappointed or hungry at the end of your meal! Good wine list as well as beers and cocktails, and excellent service from Paige and the other friendly and helpful staff .Best value quality lunch in the village, and maybe in the city?

Three of us visited for lunch ,12 until5pm nose didn’t stay that long that’s when it’s served. Staff very attentive. The food was amazing,tasty,well presented and Turkish . Loved everything about our meal. Hope to be back soon.

Had a fab night ...group was great and refurbishment is great however was charged £4.95 for gin and tonic earlier in the evening and later was charged £7.95 ..I queried this and was informed that they only do doubles..just might have been better if customers had been given choice before placing their order...drink was lovely and well presented however very unhappy with cost

A lovely, authentic menu here, using quality ingredients and all cooked in an authentic style.

Popped in for a drink before dining at Caveau nearby. We spent an hour at a nice tall table by the window chatting and watching the world go by. Food menu looked good so will return to eat.

We called in for lunch on a lovely sunny day and what a good choice it turned out to be. The atmosphere is warm and friendly as are the staff.

I was arranging a dinner for 8 friends and myself for Wednesday 21st February at around 6pm and wanted to view the menu beforehand. The website was down so I telephoned on Monday 19th to request that a menu was emailed to me and I was told that wasn't possible, which I thought was a little bizarre and I was asked to call in at the restaurant to pick one up. I explained that I was not going to be passing the restaurant so that was not feasible. The lady who I spoke to seemed friendly enough and took my mobile number promising to send me photographs of the menu, which did not happen. Such a struggle at first stages for such a simple request put me off dining there, which is a shame as they lost a table of 9 and potentially a lot more business for future.

We have passed by The Loft many times but we never went in. We discovered it had been taken over recently by Elif who have other restaurants in Liverpool including Lark Lane. The welcome was warm and the atmosphere was buzzing. Some people had come in for a drink and others were eating a meal. It was Saturday afternoon so I imagine it’s a lot quieter in the week. The menu is huge. We chose the 2 course lunch £9.95 between 12-5pm. The grilled meat and salmon was delicious. Everything we had was generously portioned and was cooked to perfection. Drinks are priced fairly and service was very good. The Loft is an amazing building - I’d love to know it’s history. It is being re-furbished in June so I hope that it keeps it’s character. We will be back and highly recommend it. Apparently the Sunday roast is amazing! Ah well back to the diet!

We went upon recommendation from a friend to try the 2 course early doors special for £9.95.

The Bistro has recently been taken over by new owners, The Management of the Elif Restaurant. It is good to see that the standard of food remains good. I had a mixed Haloumi and Chicken Wrap which came with chips, Coleslaw and Salad. The portion was very generous and enough for two people. It was delicious and very reasonably priced.

Lunch was pre ordered and booked for one o clock. Some of the party did not get their mains until 2.45.The salads consisted of a bowlful of mixed leaves and little else.There was no pride taken in presentation-it was just slapped on the plates. Not one of the party enjoyed their food. We complained about the long wait and were told the food was made to order, but as we had all pre ordered a week previously,(and pre paid in full) this was a lame excuse. If this is the usual standard of food and service, I can't see how they stay in business.No one in the party (all locals) will be back.

We were a party of people, had pre ordered, the food was just OK, nothing more, but the service was diabolical. Never again.

Came here few weeks ago for a Sunday roast, we have had Sunday roast in the elephant and liberty tavern and this is by far the nicest and cheapest...we won't go anywhere else now in fact going again today it's Sunday yaaay....2 courses starter and main had soup and beef roast last time and everything was cooked beyond perfection. Staff are a delight in this bar especially Gemma she is a credit to this place and treats you like an old friend. Can't wait for our dinner now! It's what bank holidays are all about. Take my word for it this place is worth a visit

Very sunny afternoon when we visited the Bistro. Although it was quiet I'm sure it fills up for the evening. I chose the wrap and my wife the salad, Everything was fresh and served with a smile.

Food was fabulous, the chefs special seafood linguini was the best I've ever tasted!!!! Service was brilliant couldn't do anymore for you, would highly recommend to come here! Great atmosphere and very clean!

I had travelled up to Liverpool to attend the fate & grand dance celebration of the 60th anniversary of when John met Paul. We wondered down to the village, saw the Loft, walked in to ask if they had a table for two. We were greeted warmly & welcomed to the Loft. Given time to look at the menu both food & drink. Very pleased to see Liverpool gin on the list, this was served to perfection. We both ate different meals, fish & pork, both cooked perfectly, absolutely delicious. The waitress & Waiter both very friendly, welcoming & knowlegable. I would definitely go there again

Went in here for a drink. Nice decor. We decided to have something to eat as well as they were playing non stop Beatles music.

Have previously visited here for drinks when visiting relatives but this time had the opportunity to enjoy lunch here - fantastic value all the main menu available on a " two for deal" not just a special menu. Great selection of wines at reasonable prices even better with the pleasant service. If opportunity arises again we will certainly visit again

The belly pork and fish and chips are to die for amazing food great service a must go it was 30* out side and cool enough inside to eat 😊😊😊

A group of about 20 of us had a good night and the atmosphere was very good. Staff were friendly and helpful and the food we ordered was nice.

Pity when they advertised their Christmas opening times they did not announce that they would be charging an entrance fee on the door on Boxing night. Nice way to treat regulars who go all year round. Last they have seen of me.

I used to enjoy coming here, it has a great atmosphere on a Friday when the live bands are on but we had an incident with the management & found her really rude and abrupt.

We were staying near Woolton Village for the weekend and called in Loft for lunch on the Friday. The place looks great, the staff were all friendly and the food was very good and reasonably priced. It was fairly quiet on the Friday lunchtime, and we booked a table for an evening meal on the Saturday. The place was buzzing when we got there, which was great. A bit noisy, but we expected that with the high ceilinged construction of the place. The music was switched on while we were having our starter ( not really necessary in my opinion, as just about everybody in the place was involved in animated conversation ) and the music was turned up loud to be heard over the level of conversation, which in turn was raised as people had to shout to be heard over the music. Unfortunately, because it was so busy, we had to wait over 45 mins for our main course. The waitress was very apologetic and all the staff were friendly once again, plus the food was good again. Just a bit too noisy for us, trying to eat a meal in a nightclub atmosphere. We would go again, but will stick to lunchtime for food I think.

The Staff were attentive, the food was good and the surroundings were nice. Long wait for the food spoiled things as we had to rush to finish our meals. Lunch time food needs to be prompt as people have to get back to work. Couldn't recommend to a work colleague for lunch as the service was far too slow. There were only 3 people beside ourselves who ordered so I don't understand why we had the long wait over 35 minutes for a burger and chips. Has potential but needs to speed up for lunch time customers.

We popped in here on the off chance for food, we ended up having the set Sunday lunch for both of us and the granddaughter, good choices for the starters, and then a choice of beef, chicken or veggie for the main, the kids fishfingers were actually fish, which was really good. I didn't really want the Sunday lunch I would have preferred tapas, a light meal or something like that, so I am assuming the only choice on a Sunday is the set lunch, which is a shame if that's the case as I think there should be some alternatives. Really nice friendly helpful staff too.

Some great new bits here apart from the usual favourites. Congrats to the kitchen for trying new stuff as everything was tasty and brilliant value for money. Might be an idea to serve each plate as it is ready rather than waiting for everything to come at once? A very minor niggle - we'll be back soon!

Nice bar / bistro, sometimes the bar has entertainment on and can be lively. Other nights it is just background music and good company. You can order food at the bar. However, we had already eaten so did not try anything. Good attentive staff, and clean throughout.

Very pleasantly surprised, by this centrally located village Bistro. Provides a good array of beers and a substantial menu. The staff are great and provided wonderful service.

After hearing lots of good things about this place, we decided to call in for lunch.

Have visited the Loft several times before as a drinker. After hearing reviews on how lovely the food was I decided to take the family to celebrate Mother's Day. We were not disappointed! The food was delicious, clean plates all round! And I can not fault the service, especially given how busy it was! Will definitely be returning and would happily recommend!

I visited the Loft for the first time for mothers day with the whole family. There was a set menu, I ordered the Pate which was tasteless and it came with 1 slice of Hovis bread, not a full sized bread slice the smaller one so I had more pate than I could fit on the bread, I was shocked at the tiny piece of bread before me. I had to ask for another slice which came not toasted just plain. I then ordered the burger and found this to not taste of anything there was no seasoning in it, just very plain. The French Fries were just French Fries frozen and then fried nothing special and the onion rings were very greasy. We waited far too long, and left before the pudding after being there for 2 hours still waiting for our third course. It was far too noisy, and there were 2 staff on. They did not wait on the table it was more we had to ask them for things. It is more of a drinking hole than a place to eat. It was busy with drinkers in the afternoon who seemed to take preference over the diners. The restaurant was also very noisy. There was no apologies about the food being late, we asked for the bill before the desert arrived as it was not coming and it did not come !!! We got fed up after a while with 1 hour between courses we had had enough by then and the kids were getting fed up Even on paying they did not apologise, I would not go here again, after hearing good reviews I was very disappointed.

Absolutely love this place! Great food - everything from the roast dinner to the Mac and cheese is perfect! Friendly staff and reasonably priced drinks - what more can you want 👍🏾

Had the most amazing Sunday lunch proper toasties and home made Yorkshire pudding very filling and fantastic value, waiting on staff are lovely, would definitely recommend

Had tea with my Tuesday night. I had ribs to start which were the nicest I have ever had meat just melted off the bone.

5* all the way , 13 of us attended there last night for a works Christmas meal, food was delicious, every single one of us enjoyed the variety of starters , main and deserts ! Would highly recommend ! Compliments to the chef and staff ! Delicious ! Tasty ! And worth every penny !

We visited on a Saturday around 5pm and, early on, it's clearly a place to eat and drink and enjoy conversation. From 8 onwards, no more food gets served and on comes the live bands. Great atmosphere, very relaxed and upmarket feel when we visited with excellent service. If you're eating, it's a kitchen that is visible to customers

It's not a restaurant, more a bar that does food. That said it has a nice decor good staff and decent food.

Just had sunday lunch here for first time' absolutely amazing and high quality .best place to eat in the village by fare.

Chef Darren is excellent. Very creative and is happy to go off menu to suit dietary tastes. Staff are very friendly and attentive. Worth a visit any time. We held in to hear the acoustic jam night. Great night here.

Visited with my friend and daughter on a Tuesday afternoon. We ordered steak sandwich and a club sandwich. They were served with a side salad and french fries. The food was piping hot, delicious and very generous portions. For dessert we had hot waffles with toffee sauce and ice cream. Again these were fresh and delicious. We finished with coffees which were served with a shortbread biscuit. The waitress was really friendly and gave all round excellent service. I will definately go back to this fab pub restaurant.
