Santa Maluco in Liverpool

Got a table outside this afternoon had drinks and an extremely tasty pulled pork pizza, friendly service.

Couldn't wait for the 12th of April to arrive with pubs, bars and restaurants being allowed to reopen with outside service only, heading straight to the pedestrianised Castle Street we dropped anchor at Maluco were we had a wonderful time.A lovely restaurant, the outside seating area was so inviting and the views down Castle Street and Dale Street stunning, a very pleasant member of the staff took our details of name and phone number to assist with the governments track and trace system on our N.H.S covid app, we ordered beers and payed contactless, beers arrived in no time at all, we just kicked back, chilled out and soaked up the great vibe in this busy and popular restaurant. My beer was really good, a light, hoppy, unpretentious lager style beer bursting taste, very easy to drink, it was really good again sitting out in the sun and soaking up the beautiful Spring sunshine and to be honest socialising again. We really enjoyed our beers in here and the great vibe so much so that we ended up staying for another beer each before we moved on and as on every other visit to here we had a great time .Maluco is easy to locate along Castle Street, a street and area teeming with pubs, bars and restaurants and some amazing architecture and a major tourist destination. A wonderful restaurant/ bar,most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area.

Needed cheering up after further lockdown news so we took ourselves to Maluco and had the Christmas pizza - bloody amazing! Pigs in blankets and cranberry sauce on a pizza - what more could you ask for?! Greeted and waited on by friendly staff, there was a buzzing atmosphere which is just what we needed! Managed two 18 inch pizzas between us! Would highly recommend and will definitely be going again!

The team at Maluco are amazing! I asked for some help in organising a staff Christmas do (virtual). They sorted logistics of delivering their fresh bake at home pizzas to our team across the cities and they went down SO well with the group post-cocktail class. Thanks so much Maluco!! Best pizzas in Liverpool!

Food was banging and staff were friendly and helpful , highly recommend . Wood fire pizza very tasty and done to perfection.

Stumbled across this place when I saw the wood fired oven through the door. Friendly staff and a huge super flavoured pizza cooked to perfection. The friend I was with said it was was one of the best pizzas he had ever had, and for me its 3rd in a long line of years and years of eating pizza. I highly recommend this place. I just wish they had one of these back home. Great pizza. We had the DGT. Sooooo good. The thin crust had that nice burnt crisp to it along with the pulled pork and the occasional hint of spice from the jalapeño. Was really really good.

November 2019 myself and my partner had an early Christmas shopping day off from work and to start we wanted to go somewhere different for breakfast. We’d been here once before on a night out for a quick drink, the place is nice and a little quirky. There was a good selection of food and we ordered a baked egg breakfast which was baked in tomatoes, peppers and feta it was lovely, coffees were strong and pretty good. Staff nice too!

Very nice pizza! Very big too! Enough to share! Staff very friendly, Evie was very nice and very welcoming! Perfect place for the mood and pizza.

Mi esposa y yo comimos aquí la semana pasada. Hicimos uso de su oferta especial Eat Out to Help Out, que tiene una muy buena relación calidad-precio.Nos sentamos afuera, lo cual fue encantador. Can’t rate this place highly enough. Delicious freshly made pizzas... huge too! Brilliant value and very friendly and helpful staff! Thank you for a delicious impromptu lunch.

Es justo decir que nuestra velada en Maluco casi (no se lo digas a la señora) lo compensó.El servicio fue asombroso. Cuando llegamos a la hora de nuestra cita, nuestra mesa todavía estaba siendo limpiada. Como resultado, tomamos una copa en la casa mientras esperábamos. Un Aperol Spritz perfectamente elaborado y presentado y una botella de cerveza fueron muy buenos mientras leíamos las tentadoras opciones de ingredientes para pizzas.Fuimos por mitad y mitad con pollo kiev y americano. Tan sabroso y con mucho para todos. Visité esta pequeña joya y no puedo alabarlo lo suficiente. El personal era extremadamente acogedor y, aunque estaba lleno, se las arregló para ofrecer asientos en el interior o al aire libre.¡La comida estaba a punto! Teníamos la DGT y el pan de pizza de ajo, ¡no nos dimos cuenta de lo grandes que eran las pizzas! ¡Pero lo probamos bien! Y tenían un precio razonable.Después de haber comido nos preguntaron si nos gustaría tomar un cóctel en la terraza y lo hicimos. Los cócteles eran encantadores y el ambiente estaba a tope, no puedo calificar este lugar lo suficiente y volveré cuando visitemos Liverpool nuevamente.

Solo planeaba tomar un café, pero terminé comiendo pizza porque lo que estaban sirviendo a otros clientes era muy atractivo. Una de las mejores pizzas italianas que hemos tenido aquí en el Reino Unido hasta ahora. El chef Mo incluso nos dio una muestra gratis de su pan de carbón con salsa de aceite de oliva. Terminamos comprando eso también. El lugar es de un estilo industrial fresco con un poco de ambiente punk pero cómodo y un lugar genial para pasar el rato. Seguramente una de las joyas de Liverpools en su ciudad. Gracias Chef Mo y al personal por esta gran experiencia. La calidad del servicio y la comida fue excepcional. Seguramente volveremos cuando pasemos por Liverpool.

Callled in today for some food on our way home, nice place staff buzzing around not very busy nice place, then you sit and wait and wait, someone eventually came over and took our drinks and food order, we ordered beers pizza and fries, the fries came fairly quickly but our drinks took forever and when they did come they were wrong, so we had to wait again, we sat and waited about 40 minutes for one pizza to arrive then the other one came about 10 mins later, they were ok but not great to wait as long as we did. We ordered another drink and they sat on the bar for 10 mins until we got up and got them ourselves.Their is all kinds of reviews on here about the service and people waiting to long are they really that stupid that the owners of this bar are not doing anything about it?

Went as a big group. This was perfect place for a group like ours. Service was a bit hit and miss but they were busy since it was a Friday night. The Pizzas were good and the large ones are very big.

We waited so long for the food to be prepared ،Worst pizza I ever ate ,The staff were in a hurry to clean the table early and I'll never go there again...

Inexpensive and reasonable service but worst pizzas we've ever had in a restaurant - dry as a bone and burnt on all five slices that we had.

I went in very hard with this place last time I reviewed it, and it was just on the off chance that I visited here again with friends. On reflection, at this visit things were fine. The food was served on time, the price was reasonable for what we received, the pizzas were a tad boring but it may be down to our choices. We went for the Chicken Kiev and the American. I have attached photographs of how they look, but by far the best out of the two was the American. Would I recommend you visit here? All I will say is don't go out of your way. But if the needs must, then it does the job.

Popped in for a quick meal, we were torn between 3 choices and they advised that we could split half and half! Also nice to see that a place that suggests that a meal serves 2 actually serves 2.Food was delicious. Great to see pizzas being prepped and cooked in front of our eyes in a huge pizza oven.Only downside was the price of drink e.g £2.50 for a can of pop when you know it's 38p for the same one in the supermarket!

Great pizza and superb atmosphere. Staff is super Nice, and service is great. Pre book table is recomend ed.

Looks rough inside and I am not a fan of bench type seating, but the food was really good, service excellent Coffey good, what more can you say

A great hot chocolate. Simple but really tasty. The staff seemed friendly and the atmosphere was nice.

We were a party of 7 booked 1 month in advance. Arrived at 1pm and was sat in a lovely window table.Took 15 minutes to take a drink order.We were due to be having the all you could eat pizza (Rodizio), but were told that as they were due a party of 30 at 2pm that it would be at least 15 minutes between slices of pizza. They went away and came back 10 minutes later with our drinks, that's when we asked if we could order food.They had run out of pulled pork so our table needed to change our order, so there was another 10 minute wait to get the waiter/waitresses attention. We were then told we had been sat at the wrong table and needed to move us (not politely) or we would need to leave in 35 minutes, we chose to move so we didn't need to rush our lunch. We did not get our food for another 30 minutes (so it was a good job we chose to move!) after this as we were told they were preparing food for the party of 30. The pizza's were really nice. The fries were freezing cold and tasted like cardboard, they had run out of garlic mayonnaise too. The music was too loud close to the bar that it was hard to have a conversation (then too loud to hear the person next to you when the party of 30 arrived).The waiting staff were not polite and slow at everything, there were no sorry for us having to move, and no help for us moving table (we needed to move our drinks ourselves as well as our bags and coats as the coat rack was being reserved for the party of 30).When it came to pay 6 of us had cash and put in plus tip, the card payer told the waiter to put what was left on the card (plus the tip), the waiter said he wasn't allowed to work out what was left of the bill, meaning the card payer needed to get his phone out and work out what was left now minus the tip. It is a shame as the place is nicely laid out and decorated nicely, the pizzas are lovely but we felt very second best to the table of 30 that hadn't even arrived yet. The staff (especially one particular woman who I won't name) need to learn manners and they all need to speed up their service (considering the drinks come in cans they bring to the table).

Visited as a group of 9 having paid £10 each deposit and enquired about the rodizio. We told the waitress half of us were vegetarian and she kindly advised against rodizio as we would be waiting an hour between each slice! Why they promote rodizio if they can't deliver it, I just don't know. So we each ordered a pizza not being aware how huge they were. The issue in this place is that they do not have capacity to deal with a busy restaurant with large groups. A friend had ordered an appetiser and was told 45 mins later, that they did not have what he had requested. Finally the pizzas came out one by one (eventually, after the very first one being one we hadn't ordered). I was the last one to get mine which was about an hour and half after the first one came out at which point I had lost my appetite. The pizza tasted ok but I won't be going back.

Servitør kom led møkkete og fete tallerkener, spurte om nye, fikk igjen møkkete tallerkener har de egentlig oppvaskmaskin på dette stedet? Pizzaen var halvveis, og vi måtte spørre etter å få regninga flere ganger uten at det skjedde noe.

I had vegan pizza, it was awesome. They have some interest pizzas, not average run of the mill toppings. It was pretty chill in there but it was a week day evening. The pizza's are 18inch.

Dette var vår frokost restaurant i flere dager. Veldig god mat. Hyggelig betjening. Sjarmerende interiør.

Amazing pizza and cool drinks. Was busy and loved the tunes. Staff all friendly and happy and gave great advice on their favourite pizzas. Will return without a doubt 👍

Went with a group of friends and we did the Rodizo (all you can eat pizza - they bring different slices throughout the meal until youre full) Seemed like a great idea...however...the wait time between each slice was ridiculous, 20mins-30mins. We were there for over 3 hours waiting for different pizzas to come out. The pizzas was delicious, so id recommend getting a large pizza to yourself or to share but defo give the "Rodizo" a miss.

I came to Santa Maluco with my girlfriend on Monday. We had the Lo Pan Loco and the Kornflake Chicken. The food was unreal, the service was really friendly and welcoming. We also had cocktails called the Sao Paulo Spritz, we hadn't had them before they were recommended to us by Michelle was serving us. We had never tasted something so refreshing. We are made up we came here, it was our first time and it will definitely will not be our last.

It is a struggle to find a place which can cater for a range of dietary requirements. Having a lot of vegan friends, we decided to give this place a whirl, and there was no complaints!

Returned here recently, they have a new menu and some really welcoming staff.

Looked at several places on Castle street and decided on this bar with pizza as a specialty. Offered a number of interesting alternatives. We chose slices of the sliced BBQ Club. It was very good. We were pleasantly surprised.

Me and my wife and son and girlfriend went here for our sons birthday and was not disappointed, great friendly staff , great service and fantastic 18 inch pizzas which were really tasty and filling ,good value clean and friendly atmosphere will be going again when in liverpool.

The pizza here is really good with an equally good menu with lots of different options. Service was a little slow.

My wife and i enjoyed a beautiful breakfast here on our recent stay in Liverpool. We both thoroughly enjoyed our food and good strong coffees, really beautifully decorated and a really relaxed chilled out atmosphere about it. Would love to come back for dinner and few drinks when next in Liverpool.

A bit disappointed with this visit. I have dined at Santa Maluco before and thought it was amazing, but this was completely destroyed on my visit on a very quiet Wednesday evening.

Just had the American .. and to say it was amazeballs doesn’t do it justice!!

Came by this place as we were in the area as a family and the reviews swung it for us.

Been here a few times now and everytime had great service and even better food. Staff all very welcoming and friendly. The guy that took our order explained how he was new....but you couldn’t tell. He was very welcoming and all our orders arrived both correct and quickly.

We have visited this place by coincidence just walking by. The coffe was good quality, but too much good for me, I am not fun of sour arabica coffee ;-), however my husband is and he has enjoyed it. The pizza smelled nicely so finally we have decided to take slice (each), it was very nice, despite a bit price. Staff was friendly and nice.

This place is our favourite to pop in for a drink or a gorgeous food treat when you forget your diet(don’t judge me). Pippa is the most amazing waitress ever and you should definitely give her a pay rise!

Was our second choice for the evening but turned out we were wrong. Absolutely delicious pizzas and huge!!! We way over ordered. Really lovely staff; helpful, thoughtful and very efficient. Waitress brilliant. Definitely recommend. Really good atmosphere and excellent value.

Saw the slice and soda for £5 deal and popped in on my lunch hour. I asked if I could eat outside so they brought my drink in a glass with ice but weirdly my slice of pizza in a cardboard box like I was leaving. I asked for a plate and cutlery which was brought out a little later. The slice was small and thin and a bit dry (obviously they're pre made and sit out for a while) so I figured I'd order a second slice. Nobody came outside for over twenty minutes. I had to wave someone out in the end and ask if I could order. Meanwhile, some employees who were clearly off duty sat behind me and spent the entire time slagging everyone off from the kitchen lads to the boss to the newest member of staff. Very off-putting to be honest hearing the inner company workings and even if the pizza had been amazing it wouldn't make up for the lazy service where they just leave you to it.

We found this quite by accident but loved it. Fed up with chain/department store coffee we went in search of somewhere independent. Food is delicious and great portions, coffee equally good. Served well by Carl (BT). Worth a walk off the beaten track - we’ll be back.

Santa Maluco is probably the best place for pizza in Liverpool. £10 pizzas Sunday-Thursday what a bargain. Also happy hour cocktails are amazing. Good music too nice vibe in there.

We visited the restaurant last Wednesday, we were pleasantly surprised when we were told all 18” pizzas were £10.00 and this offer ran every week Sun-Wed!! Pizzas are huge and great for sharing, we also had a few sides and cocktails too. Staff were really helpful and food service was quick. We’ll definitely be back to try another pizza on this offer soon!

Went here yesterday for a friends birthday.... WOW what a place.From the minute we set foot in the door to the minute we left we were looked after.. and dont get me started on the £10 pizza deal.. best pizza in Liverpool

This is hands down the best pizza in the city. I have been here numerous times and its always quality. The ingredients they use our of the highest quality and service friendly. Yet, its fun and doesn't take itself too seriously, the Chicken Kiev is awesome! Nice outside terrace as well to watch the world go by through the summer.

Located at the top of castle st by the town hall, thid quirky little place was a good find.

Is ok if was a restaurant selling different pizzas! But how they put their selling points being a “Brazilian pizza” that is not a Brazilian pizza! Thats just strange pizzas

What a dump. A supposed retro interior is just an excuse for using crap second hand furniture as an interior. The gents toilet door would not lock and the wash hand basin and tap was a joke.

Before starting an eight days holiday to Benidorm my twin brother Stephen and I thought we would get onto the holiday mood with a day out in Liverpool City Centre and the first place we visited was Santa Maluco .

At first I thought the pizzas on the menu were expensive but when realising just how large they were, one of them was more than enough for the two of us. A very informal place, service was a bit slow but all in all a good place to sample some original Italian food in this city.

Visited on a busy Friday evening and was welcomed by a friendly host. The member of staff explained the menu to us... You can order by the slice, the rodizio where the pizza comes around continuously until you've had enough, or by full pizzas. We chose the rodizio and weren't disappointed! It gave us a chance to try all different toppings - some we wouldn't normally choose because like most we usually stick to our favourites - and each and every one was delicious! Must visit.

Food was unbelievable! One of the best places I have ever eaten and service was excellent! For those who haven't been you won't disappointed!!!

Having been before where food was good I returned for brunch. Had to ask for menus, coffee and then to order food. After 45 minutes of waiting for food and watching others that ordered a lot later getting theirs we walked out.

We ate here three times in twenty four hours, one of the best restaurants we have ever been to. This restaurant has delicious and great tasting food. The DGT Pizza was unlike anything we’ve ever had and would honestly have to say after trying pizza around the world this one comes in at #1.

I have been to this place once before, with me and my friend choosing the Rodizio option. Whereby you can eat as much pizza as you like and they bring you a slice of all pizza they’re cooking to your table. We didn’t wait long between each slice and the waiters were all lovely and asked us what pizzas we wanted next. I would definitely come back again as the pizza is excellent!

We went on a Saturday evening, it was busy but staff weren’t rushed off their feet. We waited 15 minutes to place our food and drink order. We went for the ridizio we got one slice of pizza in half an hour, the staff were too busy talking. When we asked to just order a pizza they didn’t even realise the issue. The food in general isn’t as nice as it used to be, a real shame!

It was not busy when we visited so no problem with being seated and having our orders taken but we waited ages for our drinks which was annoying as the restaurant was quiet.

All round good place for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We stopped for drinks but will go back for breakfast before we leave for home on Monday. Great atmosphere, service and choice of drinks and food.

We were staying in an apartment around the corner and had nothing in for breakfast on the first day of our visit. Santa Maluca was the first obvious place for breakfast and it was fine.

Visited at lunch time, abruptly given drinks... not asked if we liked the food....which we didn’t, we ordered a barbecue pizza and it was bland like eating rubber.

Out of all the places we visited in Liverpool this has to be my least favourite especially out of so many cracking places!

We’ve walked past this place a few times and finally decided to go in - we were not disappointed! £5 cocktails (there were 5 on the menu I think) and an 18 inch pizza . We went for the half and half option and we were so impressed with the quality and taste. The decoration of the place was super nice too!!

Looking for somewhere unusual for breakfast.I ordered creamed field mushrooms on lovely crusty bread toasted my other half had scrambled egg on toast both were really good along with two steaming cups of coffee we definately be back lovely place really pleasant staff

Bien, era un poco tarde para cenar (horario ingles) las 23:00. Casi a punto de cerrar. Pero nos atendieron muy bien, amablemente y con explicaciones de la carta. Solo quedaban porciones de pizza. Nos hizo descuento.

Had a fantastic Sunday breakfast with friends - all the food was delicious - I can highly recommend the baked eggs- the staff very friendly & helpfully regarding the menu option- excellent value for money

Aangenaam en gezellig restaurant, met zeer vriendelijke bediening (Engelsen zijn zowiezo écht oprecht vriendelijk). Kies voor de Rodizio, waar je naar believen kan eten van de verschillende pizza's die je worden gepresenteerd. Een heel originele "all you can eat" variant. Originele en smakelijke pizza's.

Loved this place. So chilled the atmosphere. We got a selection of pizzas between us which worked good for us. Good prices. Pizzas were so nice. Staff were friendly. Would definitely return

I have been in here before but just for a drink but we came in and they had an offer on any pizza £10 so we shared an American pizza and chicken wings

Went for a friends bday and had a great time. We shared three pizzas between five of us. Great selection of vegan options with the char Sui and Big Mac pizzas not disappointing! This was even after them running out of burger sauce and salt and pepper tofu so I can only imagine how good they are usually! With their January offer each pizza was only £10 which is amazing value. Would highly recommend.

I visited Santa Maluco for the first time with my friends. We only had an hour to dine as we were on a work break.

I came here with my boyfriend, we had booked a table, the place was packed, which is expected for a weekend.

Love pizza, love the variations on classics and love the dessert pizza. Just when you think you can't eat any more... you will squeeze in some sweet dough!

We popped in here on Hogmanay for early dinner. We had no reservation but they were able to accommodate us no bother. Service was good but maybe a little slow. We shared a pizza between 2 as we realised they are huge. Good pizza and the selection of drinks & cocktails was good too! The place is a bit ‘rustic’ and the toilets were clean if a little basic!

Nice place... a little crowded at times but otherwise lovely... there are 2 options of ordering... you can either have an entire pizza or go for a sampler style which is what we did... basically the chefs make pizza from the entire menu and the servers bring it around and you choose whether or not to take a slice... I really enjoyed the bbq chicken and the margarita... the big Mac was also surprisingly good! At 18" a pizza they are huge so you won't complain your still hungry! We also had chocolate pizza to finish... the toilet facilities weren't fabulous... good city location- not manic busy but not really quiet which was nice... I would go again.

Visited here as a group with friends - the staff were friendly and helpful, the beers were good and most importantly, the food was amazing!! I would particularly recommend the dough balls. The all you can eat option is really good value for money too. Can't fault it!

Visited as a group of 6 late on a Friday night. The pizza here is unreal, as a veggie I was recommended to order my own half and half rather than the Rodízio and I’m glad I did. The mac and cheese pizza is one of the best I’ve ever had. The staff are fab and were really accommodating even after we set fire to our table! Will definitely be returning.

It’s got a very laid back attitude and seating arrangement which can be good for a quick bite or lunch- not so great for an evening meal. However is good for a big group I have been before with a football team and worked well.

We went just to get a drink one night, we got two really nice drinks, nothing special but for a very fair price and the atmosphere was so nice that we decided to come back. The morning after we came for coffee and breakfast and this was just sublime. The coffee was really good and I had the eggs with mushrooms witch were cooked perfectly and service was really fast. Would definitely come back to this pearl.

Had a quick tea before shopping ,great freshly baked pizzas and lots of lovely chicken wings. Lovely staff especially our waitress Michelle! Our number one spot for pizza in Liverpool . We will be back !

Ok being honest we were looking for bold coffee having found it had joined forces with Santa Maluco. So as it was lunchtime ordered a pizza to share with a salad, the pizza was great very fresh and no taste of preservatives in the bread base and fresh toppings, love the idea of selection of slices... Front of house very pleasant and friendly attentive. This is obviously a trendy place well worth it's reputation.

Visited Santa Maluco recently and shared a half and half pizza with a friend. We had the Lo Pan Loco and the Doug Life and it was AMAZING. Service was really good and we had some really nice cocktails too. Thanks so much, we'll be back in December for the Christmas pizza!! Can't wait for that.

Came here with a group of us from work as part o my leaving night out! To say I was disappointed with the pizza is an understatement. It was undercooked and the toppings just didn't work well together. I had a veggie pizza and shared with a friend....luckily as it was absolutely huge! The service wasn't the best and to not be informed about how big the pizza would be I just felt the place was lacking something. Can't quite put my finger on it but won't be returning unfortunately.

Food is amazing, cocktails are bang on and the service is top notch! Would definitely recommend if you want fab food and lush drinks. Price isn't half bad at all either

I had a friend visiting from Wales recently who is renowned chef, I have been plenty of times and I think the Pizza's are amazing and unique, my pallet isn't all that sophisticated (give me a nice venue, lots of pizza, lovely cocktail and banging service and I'm happy am I right?) But my chef friend was over the moon with the quality of the pizza. Best pizza place in town. If you've not tried it treat yourself its nearly Christmas.

Whilst in Liverpool for the weekend we stumbled upon this fab place. Staff friendly, good vibe and the breakfast certainly didnt disappoint. Excellent! Would definately recommend.

A group of 7 of us went here and ordered the Rodizio. Being there for nearly 2 hours we were only given 5-6 slices of pizza (of which many were the same type). Paying almost £16 for an experience that advertises over 12 different pizza toppings was disappointing when we merely got 5-6! We waited more than half an hour between some slices and waited over 15mins for more drinks while staff stood chatting behind the bar. When asked to speak to the manager he was very defensive and more or less told us we were wrong about the pizza we received. As I said great pizza if you have 3 or 4 hours to spare but awful service and management!

I can’t rave about this place enough!!! My boyfriend surprised me to a meal here for our anniversary and we were certainly not let down at all! We were so surprised by the variety of pizzas they sold! We decided to do the all you can eat because we couldn’t wait to try all of the delicious sounding pizzas! Everything was freshly made and the waiters did there best to describe the pizzas as they were bringing them out to us, one by one! This little cozy restaurant was ideal for our date night! The wine was incredible and the service in which we recieved was outstanding! The bar looked incredible with the amount of cocktails which were flying out! We seven saw a pornstar martini being set on fire! Incredible!!! The only down side about this bar is that it only had one draft lager, however, we were more than content with our bottle of wine! We were never waiting more than 5 minutes for a slice of pizza or a drink! We spent 2 hours here and the waiter didn’t want us to leave! He kept asking us which pizzas we wanted to try next! Stuffed out of our faces, we sadly had to leave! Can’t recommend this place enough!
