Called in to the Wee Bear for Brunch as we hadn't been for some time. As ever the food was excellent and the surroundings were excellent. Friendly efficient staff and food was piping hot and tasty.

Wasn't as good as last time we were there....Sandwiches a bit un appetizing ....Nachos not everybody's taste ...crisps are more popular ....the salad was a bit overpowering with basil....and the tea was cold! Dog friendly is ok , but really don't like dogs staring at me when eating! Small dogs wandering about could be a safety hazard to the less abled person .. Parking no problem ...Friendly staff ...

Homemade food, different concoction then you are used to. dog friendly. Pleasant place, lovely staff. Outside eating area that's covered over to protect from rain.

What a gem of a place . We stayed in the accommodation for four nights ( left today ) Our second visit ! The owners are genuine delightful people. The accommodation is very good , clean and welcoming. Beds are very comfy with lovely linen on them . If the cafe is open it is well worth the visit - I would highly recommend the mushroom special- it is to die for ! If you’re wanting somewhere to stay that is a hive of activity this is not the place for you . If you are wanting quiet relaxing surroundings then you must visit .

Visited here with my mum. We were so impressed with the outside seating area. Everything was so well organised, we felt really safe. The tomato soup (in a large paper cup) with focaccia bread was delicious! Hoping to go back very soon. Thank you for all you have organised for people.

We booked this very last minute, an hour before we arrived after being rained off our campsite! Gareth was very welcoming. We booked a budget double room which whilst small, was well decorated, sparkling clean and well appointed. The lodge has the benefit of a lounge and well equipped kitchen that residents can use. The breakfast in the morning was delicious. All in all we thought this was a hidden gem. We would stay again if in the area and would recommend to our friends and family.

My friend and I discovered this place by accident...and what a find...Food..scrumptious... the welcome was delightful...and we were given a tour of the luxurious Lodge...We were so impressed that we've booked in for a couple of days next month..Don't hesitate to visit...They are very busy so an early booking would be advisable...The views are great...My camera will be used well on my next visit...

This is a cozy little hotel a few miles outside Kirriemuir. Located next to the loch with a little café. The owners are so friendly, helpful and lovely. This is defently a place we wanna come back to.

My partner and I stayed 3 nights while attending a local festival at the end of April 2016. We found the owners Gareth and Anne very hospitable and genuinely happy to see us. Although we only stayed a few nights we were treated like old friends. They went out of their way to help with our travel arrangements into Kirriemuir without hesitation (twice). The food in the Wee Bear Cafe (which included the breakfast) was fabulous, both fresh and exceptionally tasty. Home baking of an epic quality. Generous portions are the order of the day and were enjoyed to the full. Nice to see vegetarians and vegans catered for too. The lounge and guest kitchen facilities are excellent and informal where we met fellow guests and chatted long into the night before a cosy and comfortable sleep in our nicely appointed room. Will definitely return one day :-)

Good fresh food, although the menu isn't very varied if your looking for lunch It's in a lovely setting and there's a small play park for children. Dogs are allowed and well catered for. There's plenty parking but this is where I felt badly let down. There is no allocated disabled parking! There was a challenging walk on my crutches from the carpark to the cafe as the surface isn't very wheelchair friendly. With the space available in sure there is an easy remedy and I'm sure we'll come back for more of the good food and see if they resolve the parking for the disabled.

The view from the dining room was lovely and the staff were super friendly and welcoming, unfortunately, the food was not great. The lasagne tasted like a poor-quality frozen ready meal and the mac 'n' cheese was not very nice. The chips were good, though. Unfortunately, for several days afterwards I had an upset stomach. Apparently, due to staff shortages, their menu was reduced and maybe they didn't have the qualified staff who usually prepare the food. Maybe we were just unfortunate and did not sample their food at its best.

Friendly staff, good service. Nice to sit outside and look out over the harbor. They do not serve food anymore, but they do have an ice cream bar daytime. Fair prices on the beer.

I've visited this cafe many times as we stayed outside Alyth numerous times throughout the year and more so when my sisters cancer was terminal. The reason I'm back today is to visit where their ashes were scattered as both my mom and sister are scattered here together. (We live in Wales) I would agree with many other reviews on here that this is not the friendliest cafe considering how lovely it is. I will point out that most times when the younger girls serve, they're very pleasant. I was here on Monday for tea and cake and the young blonde lady serving was absolute lovely and gave me the WiFi password, as I've also had on previous trips when I've asked. Nothing worse sitting on your own, Billy no mates and can't use your phone. Today I'm stretching and getting signal on and off. Anyhow, I came In today, Wednesday 16 October, no hello.. nothing. Sat down and rude woman appeared with pen and notepad..no hello.. just are you ready to order or do you need another minute? No smile, no pleasantries. I ordered I then went up to look for the password only for her to tell me there isn't one.. you can't have WiFi as we don't have it. I said it's showing up .. and I got it on Monday. No you didn't as we don't give it out... if everyone uses it our tills don't work.. Really ??? 🤔🤔😶🌫️ I said once again I got it on Monday. - no you didn't !! OK.. seemingly I'm a liar now 🙄🙄😔 Honestly I doubt I'll be back here as clearly the same woman, older, glasses and not a scottish accent I don't believe, Blue in her hair this time. You'd think after many complaints they'd do something about this.. unless she's the actual owner.. which sadly I hope not.. She does not make visiting conditions pleasant .
