Lovely interior but disappointing portion size for main meal..sauce was lovely but meat was chewy didn't feel like it was cooked on the sauce just added into it last minute. If your hungry probably not the best place to fill you up...disappointing following reviews👎

The portion size very small. The meat was dry. The sauce had a nice flavour but over all it was over priced for what it was.

Went to Phranakhon Thai Tapas last night. The food was full of flavour, well cooked, great variety. The curried squid was a particular favourite. The tamarind dishes were perfectly balanced (not too sweet). The tempura batter was light and crispy. Lovely. However, the service was very poor. Slow, inattentive. The waitress was particularly moody and disinterested. We wanted to order dessert but no-one attended to us for ages after we’d finished the meal. We had to get up three times from the table to ask for things like water, bill, dessert menu. By the time we’d asked to see the dessert menu the waitress told us the kitchen closed ten mins ago. V annoying. It’s a shame because the decor was lovely and the food was some of the best Thai we’d had in Harrogate.

We showed up in time to take advantage of the early bird special, choosing 5 tapas for £25 a person (for 2 people). Wonderful way to try a lot of their great food at a nice price. The crispy beef, and stir fried beef were among our favorites. Highly recommend this place.

Sadly our last visit was a little bit of a let down. A few of the dishes were not up to scratch. The pork belly with salt chilli and garlic was dry, the pork belly pieces were uneven, some extremely thin and even the spring onions were not fresh. I ordered the duck spring rolls, which they didn't have (this is the second time they haven't had them), so in a rush I picked chicken satay thinking it's a fairly simple dish and hard to get wrong. Oh dear, it was the worst chicken satay I've ever had. It was flavourless and watery, it had a "microwaved" taste. My partner ordered the side of noodles with garlic oil, which if you can't read Thai then you won't know it is vermicelli noodles. They were supposed to come with garlic oil but they tasted pretty plain. £4, for a tiny portion of noodles. On to the positives - The service was good. The crunchy wings and the battered prawns were delicious. So was the beef panang curry however, the curry was £11... for a tapas portion, no rice included. That is how much I'd expect a full sized portion to cost. It was nice, but it would have to be a gourmet experience to justify that price. A portion of sticky rice will also set you back £4. The prawn crackers are delicious but £5.50 is a lot. For two people (5 tapas, 2 sides, one juice, prawn crackers) the bill came to over £70. Far far too expensive for the quality of food and the portion size. This place is kind of stuck in a weird limbo where they are doing "Thai tapas" but the prices are now closer to what you'd expect from mains. I have a lot of sympathy for the hospital industry and I do understand that prices have had to increase over the years, but I am not sure if I could justify making the trip back here now. The first time I went the food was was spectacular, but this time I felt so let down.

Better than Sukhothai down the road, excellent food. Lots of small dishes you'd expect some compromise in quality, not here! Compliments to the chefs! Early bird menu has lots of choice for a very good price too.

In town center but it got wrong order, food quantity was small, and food quality was below par. I didn't think it was value for money. Not a place I would go again.

My fave UK thai experience! The authentic flavours as I've enjoyed in Thailand. Really great options (a large selection of dishes) BUT the Prawns are deep-fried. Most prawn dishes are battered. Really recommend pork fans to try the pork belly options. My fave was the seabass! It's a light tempura style batter and the dressing/sauce is so flavoursome with coriander and chilli - my. faves. Great ambience. Well worth a visit

Well what an absolute GEM - we highly recommend this place. The Thai food is so so good, we will definitely come back when we visit Harrogate again. The staff are extremely polite, really nice and welcoming. It felt cosy the surroundings are lovely. Really clean and they have an open kitchen so you can see the food being done. We ordered six dishes which was more than enough for two people. Everything was excellent and fantastic presentation and taste. Service was friendly and swift. Looking forward to returning very soon.

What a fabulous place. My girlfriend treated me to a weekend away in harrogate for my birthday. We did a bar crawl and soon in came across locus. Amazing music, decor and service, we ended up staying, leaving for a meal booking and then returning for the rest of the night! Favlor was an outsiding hostess and provided excellent drinks, conversation, music and further drink recommendations, we are certain to go back the next time we are in harrogate, thank you!

This would be my new ‘local’ - were it not for the fact I live 90mins away. Only in Harrogate for the weekend and stumbled upon this little gem of a bar. Mind the step when you walk in; the decor is fab; the hanging plants from the ceiling welcome you in. This is a couples bar - playing 80’s music; serving fabulous wines and cocktails. Pay them a visit, you won’t be disappointed

A very nice Thai restaurant in the centre of Harrogate. Food was fantastic and an extensive menu (would have loved to have seen sweetcorn cakes or Sticky rice and mango on there!) Staff are really friendly and attentive and not overly expensive. Not a fan of the seats closest to the stairs as people are walking past you constantly but overall, great little restaurant and I would return again

We stumbled on this place purely by chance after eating at an italian place round the corner when visiting Harrogate for the first time for a night. So glad we went in - I think the A-board mentioning that it was 70/80/90s themed music is was attracted us! Such a lively buzzy vibe about the place, not too rowdy, a good mix of clientele too - were in our mid 40s and didnt feel "too old" lol. We sat at the bar and the lady serving turned out to be the owner. She was so very friendly and helpful. I was going to go for my usual Espresso Martini but she suggested their twist on it - raspberry..I tried it and it ws good, although she was very happy to ask for genuine feedback as she explained they were still developing their cocktail menu. It was a tad too sweet for my taste but not enough to put me off drinking it all! We had one other drink and the owner even shared a couple of her favourite tequilas with us on the house! How sweet was she! We would have stayed longer but it was getting late and we had a long drive back home the next day. I would definitely have gone back had we been staying in the Town for longer. We need more independent small businesses like this in towns, these chain places are dull, overpriced and ruthless. The lady who owned this place genuinely cared about her customers and their experience and wanted feedback. She was lovely to chat with and is most certainly in the right job! We will go back if we ever come back to Harrogate

First visit and we were not disappointed. Staff were friendly and helpful. We pre-booked our table for my daughter's birthday and the staff were wonderful at helping her celebrate with an ice cream dessert and candle. Food is freshly cooked and so flavoursome. Amazing choice of dishes, and we chose 2 plates each and shared. Each dish was absolutely delicious. A hidden gem in Harrogate and a must visit restaurant.

Food was somewhat unremarkable and felt overpriced for the portion sizes we received. At £8-12 per dish, which could pay for a main course elsewhere, we anticipated that 5 dishes would be plenty for the two of us. The red curry was very tasty but the rest of the food didn't impress with taste or quality. We left still hungry despite the £50 bill. Staff were kind and friendly but service was a little slow. We also found that they didn't have soda water on tap and so charged us £5 for two small bottles of sparkling water. They kindly removed it from the bill. Overall okay experience but food didn't feel worth the wait or money. We were recommended to try the giggling squid but we opted to go here to support a small business - would probably not do this again in future.

Love this newly found gem - exactly what Harrogate needs - a fab independent bar that serves great drinks in a lovely environment with good music; Favia makes amazing cocktails - we were on whisky but we saw what was created behind this cute bar; this will definitely be our new go to place - thank you

Gorgeous Tapas style Thai food. Small plates of our favourite Thai dishes, we had 3 dishes each & some Thai crackers & dipping sauce. We had 2 glasses of wine, bill was around £70. Great service.

The best Thai in Harrogate hands down, authentic real and not a U.K. version,

A more unique and very pleasant bar in the town. It’s small but that adds to the charm and they manage to get a good mix of seating in, whether you’re visiting as a couple or group. The music can be a little overbearing at times but the decor is nice and it’s got a cosy atmosphere. All the staff are super friendly and the service behind the bar is fast. There’s a decent range of cocktails and all the drinks are reasonably priced. I’ll certainly be returning!

Just had the most authentic Thai food in this lovely place - couldn't recommend highly enough! Gorgeous food and wonderful service.

the food was absolutely delicious, we got 10 dishes between 4 of us and this was perfect. there is such a range to choose from, soup, curry, pad thai. all of it was exceptional! the service was lovely too and the restaurant itself is super pretty and cute.

The food was amazing! 3 dishes each was the perfect amount and a reasonable price too, would highly recommend! We had lamb curry, jasmine rice, crispy shredded beef, belly pork, chicken satay, and pad Thai.

We have just gone home from an amazing meal and experience. The food was fresh, hot and full of flavour. The restaurant was busy but not over crowded especially for a Wednesday evening. Julie and all the staff were welcoming and very knowledgeable, especially as my wife had dietary needs (good choices). Never pushy but always there when we needed anything. Highly recommended to everyone 👍

Delicious food and really friendly service; they gave us extra time to choose as everything sounded so yummy, and they helped guide and answer questions. The menu is extensive but such a great range of choices and flavours- hats off to the chefs! Thai tapas is a great concept and something that is fairly new to Harrogate and I hope this place will continue to be a success. 2-3 tapas per person are recommended and we got 2 each but didn’t leave feeling that full as they are very much tapas sized (although this is probably a good thing to avoid next day regrets!) Fairly pricey though for the size so the only reason I’ve docked one star. Flavour combinations were amazing. Will definitely be back to try some more amazing dishes.

A quiet early Sunday lunch which my husband and I had looked forward to, as the hotel breakfast was so average we decided to skip it. We were starving as a result. The restaurant offers a lunch menu for £13.50 but we decided on the a la Carte option. We ordered three “tapas” dishes each plus noodles and tofu. The food arrived promptly and it was totally sumptuous and delicious. The flavours were fresh, flavoursome and tantalising. I really could not fault it. We do not have a similar Thai restaurants in Northampton and that is a shame. We shall return!

A lovely restaurant with a super range of dishes to choose from. We were a group of 8 so we were given a private area to sit in and it was the best ever table I’ve come across for a group this size for dinner. The food flavours were delicious and everyone enjoyed the dishes they’d chosen as well as tasting those others had chosen. The staff were very lovely, light hearted, accommodating and easy going too. A good place to go for a tasty meal out.

Food was amazing! Loved the tapas style of dining allowing us to try a total of 11 dishes amount four adults. Can definitely order more, but we'd filled up by then. My personal favorite was the pork belly. We ordered three different kinds but the 'Legendary' was the consensus favorite. Only knock on the place was, it's crowded. But, it was a Friday night at a place with delicious food. If you can, sit upstairs. There is a little more room up there. I will definitely return and highly recommend.

Food was delicious. Yes small plate's, but the word tapas gives you a clue. The four of us, including two grandchildren really enjoyed everything. Good gluten free choices. We ordered one set of food, then a second set. Therefore everything was hot and fresh. Staff were friendly and helpful. I've only given 3 stars for atmosphere due to the extremely loud females who liked a screech. Not the restaurants fault, but rather ear piercing. Next time I'll ask for a table upstairs.

We visited early evening on a weekday, so it was pleasantly quiet, and we had no problem getting a table without a booking. As a side note, I wish they could sort out online booking. The restaurant is nicely decorated and themed, with an obvious nod towards Thai culture. The menu has a great variety of dishes, with vegetarian and vegan dishes clearly marked. It would benefit from numbered dishes, as it can feel like a memory challenge keeping track of 5+ dishes. The food is excellent, and arguably the best Thai in Harrogate. Flavours were wonderful throughout. The battered dishes were beautifully crispy. As it's tapas, portion sizes are appropriately sized. Service was great, friendly, and efficient. The service charge (10%) is included in the bill.

The food is very good and the restaurant seems very popular. The food is served as tapas so portion sizes are smaller and this can make it expensive. Worth it as a treat.

Fantastic little restaurant, really accommodating staff, we rolled up just before 10pm and they still managed to seat the 6 of us. Huge menu, everything sounded amazing, Staff were only too happy to help with any questions and needs regarding the menu. What we chose was fantastic, couldn't fault it. The massaman curry was particularly nice. Not massively cheap, but certainly not crazy expensive, what you get for your money is great value. We will definitely eat there again.

Dreadful. We arrived on time and it took 15 mins to get sat (despite there being an empty table we were asked to wait by… which we were eventually given). I tried for 10 minutes to catch the eye of someone to take our order - we had waited 35 minutes and had not had any drinks or crackers. Other tables had. A lady who I assume was the manager came over but the table behind (who sat 10 mins after us) stopped her on their way to us and she took their order and then took a further 10 mins to get us. Walk-ins were accepted through the evening despite the service being stretched and poor and two men who were drunk on arrival - and got worse - were served more alcohol (this shouldn’t have happened under the licensing guidelines. One of the drunk men ended up walking around interrupting people’s meals and being inappropriate - they weren’t asked to leave. It was over an hour before we got our food, dishes were missing from our order. The food was delicious - but it was overshaded by everything else. We’d booked to table friends who were visiting out, and frankly, I was embarrassed by the end of the evening. Absolute chaos. Spoke to the manager who apologised, and said ‘try us again, if we get it wrong again keep telling us’ and that was it. I was gobsmacked that the dreadful service wasn’t reflected in the bill after I complained. We’ve been to Phranakhon in York many times, along with Khao San Road and the predecessor Tah Chang, we are unlikely to return to any again.

Fantastic. One of the best Thai meals I have ever had! We shared 9to10 small dishes between three of us and each one was brilliant; amazing flavour, all very different, great cooking. Lovely meat/fish/chicken/veg. No hesitation in highly recommending this place. Great food. Hopefully it is here for a long time!!
