The Lighthouse Café (Chubb Buildings) Fryer Street Wolverhampton WV1 1HT(01902-716055) A very pleasant visit with friend on a quiet Monday afternoon at 2.30. We caught the train from Birmingham to Wolverhampton and the Café is a 5 minute walk from the railway station. We started with three coffees, then had three cheese and pickle toasties on brown bread with salad and then three mulled wines. All very enjoyable and good service. The café became busier as the films were about to start later in the afternoon, and there is a host of films and theatre performances that can be watched in the cinema. There are also other community events held at the Lighthouse so it is well worth having a look to see what is of interest to you as an individual. The bill for the three us came to £30.60. The building really is something special, the massive hall I walked through before I entered the cafe was a sight to behold. I really enjoyed both my food and drink here- it wasn't cheap but it was great quality. I thought that the staff seemed a bit distracted, but it was just before a big lunchtime rush, so maybe that was why! The whole thing represents a really good cause (look it up) that I hope survives to benefit the local community for years to come.

We arrived about 45 minutes before the film began in the Lighthouse Cinema knowing that we needed to eat something. The menu isn't extensive - sandwiches, baked potatoes, salads - but we went for the cheese omelette. Served with a crispy side salad and dressing, it was a good choice. It was delicious. And the coffee's not bad either. Good value for money..

I sometimes have business meetings here, and it's a ideal, relaxed place to go. The food is very reasonably priced and the place has a nice, relaxed ambience.

I need restorative emotional therapy after attempting to consume this. The thinnest bacon, barely filling the Tesco value white bread, and a pre-applied uni-molecular layer of ketchup. Where is the love? :( Not here. Wish I'd ventured further into town.

Smashing place for a light lunch, particularly if you're here to see a film: sitting in the covered courtyard can always cheer up a rainy day!

Situated in the Chubb building and part of the Lockworks/Lighthouse complex this is a lovely little venue. There is a limited menu but that's ok. Staff are great. Good before going into a film there or one of their other events. Good if you just want a coffee and bite to eat, or somewhere to do a bit of work/study. Look up what goes on there - recent release films in a cosy cinema, support groups of many languages, exhibitions. This is a great little venue which we need to support.

I come here from time to time to study. Lunch is cheap, there is wifi, friendly staff, plenty to look at when you want a break. There is a cinema too that shows independent films often. One of my favourite places to visit in Wolverhampton. They do various stuff in the evenings such as quizzes, language cafe etc

It's a pity that this, once favourite, place to eat has resorted to scamming its customers. The business has ceased trading. Yet you can still place an order from the website, pay for it (funny that 🤔) and then have it's status immediately change to 'closed' upon receipt of your money. The telephone number for Kimono just rings out and the new sushi business trading from the exact same address uses ignorance to bypass what is obviously an incredibly underhand way of taking funds from unsuspecting patrons. Its fraudulent. No confirmation email. No food. No way of contacting anyone from either business. I would avoid HiTokyo, the 'new' restaurant too, that's based on my experience of trying to resolve the issue. Just dreadful. Zero stars.

When my girlfriend booked here for our 6 month anniversary I was excited, I have always wanted to go here, upon arrival we were greeted very warmly and shown to our table, we were served quickly for drinks and as it was a special occasion for us, he gave us doubles instead of singles, which I greatly appreciate. He then bought out all these cute little presents so we could take pictures as my girlfriend had mentioned we were going there for a date whilst booking, food was bought to us very quickly and we even got free spring rolls and chicken dumplings, these were delicious but the food was absolutely to die for, I had the Cantonese chicken and my girlfriend had the chicken pad thai and I was so jealous, she let me try some and it was amazing, I definitely had food envy but that’s not to belittle how incredible my Cantonese chicken was, I recommend this place to anyone who wants to explore the Wolverhampton food scene and have the best Chinese/ Thai meal of their life.

Food Edible but not to my taste. Food wad quite tasteless in my opinion. Service 3 out of 10, plus changing the table cloth when we was still sat at the table, I found that quite rude. I wouldn't go back or recommend.
