Great food as always and the staff are always very frinedly. In my opinon of the best Chinese resturants in the area,

Absolute pee poor service, got the order completely wrong and then had an attitude about it when I complained... Shame really as they would of gotten a good few quid from me and it's on my doorstep...

The golden wok on stubby lane is a regular takeaway for us ,but tonight we will not go there again after 18 years of going there.we ordered for tonight and they said it would be 50 min which was fine ,an hour and 20 min later phoned them they said waiting for a driver and I heard them in the background saying they where just going to do it ?they had forgot , Person on the line not the same person who we usually speak to but needs to get some manners and customer service which was none existence, this is what you get for loyalty

Was better than the last time. The only downfall was that it started to congealed as it cooled down.

Twice now we've had a delivery, the food is excellent, delivered promptly, hot and fresh. Delivery person polite and friendly.

Its a good decent place to eat Chinese food, The banana fritter is crispy/golden and you get a separate container to add how much you like, unlike another takeaway i tried which was overly sweet and drenched in syrup. the noodles are nice and thats what I mostly order from here. I tried ying wah shop and disliked it, really regret ordering from another takeaway. I noticed a big difference. This place seems more quality, and I would say its okay overall, they could improve some things but I'm not complaining its pretty decent & okay. The prawn crackers are good quality and nice and thick, unlike the ones I tried from ying wah which were thin and tasteless.

The worst Chinese I've ever had Only used this place due to being pescatarian and not being able to get through to my usual, usually order from oriental garden for the fish dishes which are at a much higher standard than these!ordered fish fillet in black bean sauce and won tons, there was no actual fish at all it was all breading with flour and the sauce was thick and horrible considering the price I would at least expect a small amount of fish, second issue was the sweet and sour dip for the won tons it was that thick it was impossible to even use as a dip in fact when turned upside down it didn't shift.

Ordered a take away, as I do most weeks, spent £30 , all the food was lovely, apart from mine, Ordered sweet & sour King prawns, got pork balls, phoned to complain said bring them back ? , I'll knock you a couple of quid off when you come again Won't be going again

This is the 2nd time this has happened to me, I questioned the lady on the phone on my last order and she denied it, they just heat the sweet and sour chicken in plastic containers in the microwave, pre made stored in the fridge, it’s just not acceptable for the price you pay, there were a few pieces of chicken that hadn’t heated up properly, the point is if I wanted a microwave meal I would pop into the co op and pay half the price, unfortunately I will not be ordering from here again.

Always top quality never had a bad meal from here. Highly recommended

always used this chinese, chicken is now all processed rubbish, looks like a sugar cube in curry, you need to fry it, every other dish is bang on,

Lovely , we had 1/4 duck appetiser with pancakes cucumber spring onion and hoi sin sauce , beef chow mein, beef curry fried rice and chips , so glad its my local . Staff are always friendly and food came out quickly x

Spent 15.90 on overcooked omelette rubbery chicken and prawn rice was cold and chips were overcooked will not be using again disgusting

EDIT / WARNING: The BBQ sauce is horrendous! This would of dropped review to 2 stars if I had of put it over my meal it would of been unedible and ruining the meal which wouldn't of been cheap. Food Review: Ordered from here for the first time, having previously used come from 'best choice' around the corner. In comparison the food is about on par (duckrice, BBQ spare ribs, lemon chicken, chow mein, chicken curry, chips). Cost wise it is about £4 more then best choice, but isn't really worth the extra as they taste very similar. The food is very nice but not anything you would travel far for. Service: They were very polite on the phone, but our order took over and hour to arrive. In all fairness to them, they put on order the correct address and also a note to call us, since we are a new build, but the driver was still over an hour with no call, and we had to chase up and he is your employee / representative at the end of the day.

Has been my favourite Chinese takeaway for about 4 decades now. Always fantastic quality.

Ordered here because the reviews are good but I regret doing so. It was not only 10 minutes late, but the food turned up with hairs all in the chicken balls. The other dishes we ordered were bland and not appetising at all. Worst decision ever made ordering from here! The five star hygiene review gave me hope but the hairs have absolutely disgusted us and can't even finish eating the meal.

My wife really enjoys the food from here (I'm not a fan of Chinese takeaway food). Took some time to get through on ovone but is New Years Eve so wasn't surprised, didn't take too long for food to be drowsy and food was still quite warm even after a long diversion to McDonalds on way home. No complaints from us again!

Bbq sauce is dreadful. Ordered ³ dishes that had nothing distinctive.. like the food was cooked in the same wok and hasn't been washed. ,, The everithing is mixed and cooked together golden wok"

My first time ever trying some Chinese takeaway and I was blown away at why I hadn't tried it sooner! Ordered a few different things this try out and the food was flavoursome, fresh, hot and very well packed and presented. Really delighted with the quality of the food. Delicious. The premises itself was very hygienic, staff were all wearing masks and the correct procedures were in place to ensure correct Covid compliance. Staff were friendly and professional. Waiting area was exceptionally hygienic and tidy. Pricing was within regular range and portions were well sized for a full meal. Would highly recommend.

Tried here on Sunday 23rd Feb. We ordered Chicken Curry and Bbq ribs in bbq sauce. The curry was pale in colour with a coconut aftertAste..not to my liking. The ribs were so so but the bbq sauce I have never tasted sauce like it.Very salty and almost black in colour.I have used hundreds of takeaways over the years but I can't recall tasting sauce like this..awful. Pleasant staff and clean shop upfront but won't be returning.

Very good Chinese, generous portions, tasty food and extremely prompt delivery. Yuk-sung, veggie spring rolls, chicken and green peppers in black bean auce and veggie chow main..couldn't fault any of these dishes but unfortunately no room for the complimentary prawn crackers.We are regulars and will definitely be back again based on today's and previous experiences.

Use this Chinese regularly, very nice staff, occasionally the orders wrong and they send back out and it’s with you within 5 minutes. My wife and I have tried others but this is the best in Wolverhampton, never go anywhere else.

A friend of mine ordered a Chinese from here and it had a massive cockroach init, no apology but was offered a fresh one cooked and delivered. She politley decline but did request a refund which was sent via the delivery driver. Don't think she will be eating from here any time soon.

We ordered this evening from golden wok but this time wasn't very happy as I asked for extra mushroom's which we only got 3 half's in each curry which we paid for extra which we didnt get and the prawn crakers was like rubber

Don't use think that getting your order completely wrong is exceptable and when you call up they try and blame you. After taking the order back for a refund she continues to smile after you explain the trouble it has caused best of all food was not prepared fresh just reheated. Won't be using again.

Meats a little tough, but it's tasty.

Having just moved to this area I decided to buy a curry from this location . I found it to be the worst I've ever had and will not be using this shop ever again. The sauce appeared to over cooked and tasted burnt.

Very poor. Nice enough people but food cold. Chips hard. Used twice and got order wrong. Nightmare

Used these for quite a few years now, slowly gone downhill to the point where last night's will be our last. Price went up by 50p about 6 months ago-no worries. Price last night went up another £1 and the chips were cold, old and hard. Some of the meat was undercooked and the general taste has deteriorated. Shame on you Golden Wok.

Food has always been good. Tend to collect as opposed to have delivered so can't comment on delivery times. Reasonably priced & friendly staff.

Gone down hill, Had the chicken curry like i have done for years, Got worse slowly over the years, Thin, watery, Weak tasting onion water. Delivered warm and not hot, Total crap.
