Running late for breakfast but early for lunch the Lock Stop bacon and egg sandwich roll hit the spot. Pleasant and chatty owner kept up conversation while our food was prepared. Top quality bacon done to a turn. Sensible covid measures were in place.

An ideal stopping off point for walkers, canal boats and with a spacious car park for those less active !! An extensive menu is on offer, all of which are freshly prepared. The proprietors are very pleasant and welcoming.

We stopped for ice cream on a Sunny day, and wanted ice creams that would normally come in cones, but we wanted to keep it until after lunch the proprietor quickly offered to put it in lidded cups instead of cones so we could store it in our boat's freezer. We subsequently stopped there for lunch on a rainy day and were provided with china plates and trays to take the food back to our boat where we could eat out of the rain. Both the lunch and ice cream were delicious and the service was very friendly and helpful.

Get yourselves to this little gem of a place. Come rain or shine you’ll be welcomed. They even put a gazebo up if raining. Lots of yummy, fresh food, cakes and ice cream. Think it opens March to October. Well worth a visit

Stopped here for a coffee but the lady who runs the cafe was too busy seeing to guest inside the small cafe, “I’m a bit busy at the moment” she said and I said I don’t mind waiting a few minutes but I waited too long so I left quite annoyed

Great in good weather, unusual but lovely food on offer, a friendly team - who could ask for more on the banks of the Leeds-Liverpool canal. It's also the highest point of the canal across its 127 mile length. Something to look forward too if you're travelling the full length, or just a great place to call in if you're in the area

We came down here for a nice breakfast on Father's Day morning. It's a very small hut and I wasn't expecting much but I have to say the breakfast sandwiches were the best we've had in a long time! Not cheap but you pay for what you get, I can't wait for another!

Not the sort of place I frequent, but junior was waffling on about it (pun). She had been asking about 5 times that day if we could finish up there, so i gave in. I just had a Milk shake which was delicious, she had to have the full Monty waffle with everything on it. I don't think you could have added much more. She loved it so I'm happy. Well worth a visit especially for big kids and little kids.
