It used to be beautiful and interesting 20 years ago. Now it's London's biggest tourist trap, with overpriced junk, overpriced and bad food, no longer as authentic as it once was, and filthy everywhere.

Although it's always a pleasure to walk there and it remains an essential address, Camden Market has lost its punk/crazy side over the last ten years (since the fire of 2017, in fact). It has become a big bazaar, but well organized, where the crazy no longer really has a place, a sort of ultra-organized bohemian souk. And the place has lost its soul. It's a shame. But, I repeat, it's still very nice to do, to walk around and eat at one of the street food stalls (even if there too, there was much more cultural diversity before).

What can I say except that you can't leave London without passing through Camden! We discover the bustling atmosphere of the world city. Allow time to wander freely on the steps. Even if the best is of course a victim of its success and overtourism, it remains essential. Please note the market closes in the evening. Camden then gives way to the party animal but don't worry, it all remains very safe even in the evening.

There is no excuse not to experience this part of town. Easy to get there, I used bus 24 from central London. You get to know more if you sit upstairs, a fun way to get to the market. Also, the underground is a few minutes away. A bit of everything for everyone in your group: shopping, walking, and tasting local foods. Children can have an extra exciting time at the candy store. I moved this market high-up in my list to return in my next stay in London.

Camden Lock Market is a lively complex of adjacent markets located in Camden Town, one of London's most eclectic neighbourhoods. Born in the 1970s as a small craft market, it has now become one of the city's main tourist attractions, with over 1000 stalls offering a wide range of products: Fashion: vintage clothing, unique pieces by emerging designers, original accessories and much more. Crafts: handmade objects, jewellery, ceramics, works of art and gifts. Food: a real explosion of flavors from all over the world, with street food, local and international specialties. Antiques: furniture, period objects, vinyl records and curiosities of all kinds.

Camden Lock Market is a cornerstone of London’s alternative culture, blending creativity, history, and commerce in a lively riverside setting. Known for its independent boutiques, handcrafted goods, and diverse street food, the market attracts visitors seeking unique finds and a vibrant atmosphere. While the market offers an extensive range of souvenirs, shoppers should compare prices and assess quality before purchasing, as similar-looking items may differ in craftsmanship. Bargaining is advisable to secure the best deal in this dynamic marketplace.

I recently visited Camden Lock Market, and it was an incredible experience! , this bustling spot in Camden Town, is a hub of creativity and culture. With shops and stalls, the variety is amazing – from unique crafts and fashion to delicious street food. The atmosphere is lively and inviting, nestled against the historic Regent's Canal. If you're planning to go, just remember that the different sections have varying hours, so it’s a good idea to check ahead. Service was very good and the girls were very friendly and accommodating (with the exception of the lame greeting we received as we arrived)...food was overpriced and very average...the lamb was very fatty...the beef was the best of all the meals.. my wife had the chicken which was ok....the mixed vegetables were soggy...the yorkshire pudding was cold, hard and oily...We had barely just sat down and ordered when our meals arrived within 5 mins...felt like a cafeteria where the food is mass produced...We are visiting from Toronto Canada and our expectations were very high having read about The Holly Bush online...Very disappointing...Paul and Roisin OHara and Mary Maher...07874322233
