This beautiful lake is located near the winter sports resort of Aviemore and therefore directly in the Scottish highlands, the Highlands. From the shore of the Loch (as lakes are called in Scotland) you have a very beautiful view of the Cairngorms. There is a circular route. This takes a good two hours.

Beautiful Loch, clean and tidy beach. Absolutely stunning view. A cafè at the beach to get something to drink or to eat. Unfortunately very very steep prices for instant coffees. They also have toilets at the beach which at times can take a wee while until it is your turn due to high demand. You need to pay for parking (£4 for all day). It can be paid in cash at the machines or via phone call or app. App didn't work for me and neither did phoning the provided number due to not having any network coverage around Loch Morlich. Would be beneficial for visitors and for the provider to make card payment possible or make it possible to purchase parking tickets at the cafè if you have no network or cash.

Oh my, what a beautiful place! So unusual to find a loch with a sandy beach. Crystal clear water with people swimming and on kayaks etc. High mountains around with snow on top, and we were there at the end of a very hot June! Make sure you drive to the large car park with the sandy beach and cafe, and don't just stop at one of the smaller carparks by the roadside! Apparently on a really hot sunny day it can get really busy, so if you like a bit more peace maybe go earlier or later in the day, or choose a day when it's part sunny/part cloudy - enjoy!

We spend most of the day on the trails and then passed Loch Morlich on a way back to Inverness. I am happy we made a stop there. The lake was gorgeous with clean water and sandy beaches. There is a cafe and you can borrow a watersports equipment if you want. Parking was a bit of an issue. We didn't have change so after running around the lake a bit we got a signal reception and could pay it online.

Loch Morlich is situated in the Cairngorms National Park a short drive from the lovely town of Aviemore. I have been several times, however took my two daughters over and enjoyed 27 degree sunny days and made the swimming very enjoyable to cool down. There are plenty of facilities on the beach, including watersports, food, ice-cream and drinks. Just beware that if it's a nice day then it's very busy, and therefore you may need to park quite a walk from the beach itself. Otherwise I can highly recommend for a great family day out.

Really lovely loch with a very well maintained trail heading around it. Only downside which is no fault of the loch is just the quantity of cars parked around near and around it. I suppose it's just too popular! If you're like me and don't really like the sound or sight of cars, then take the trail from loch morlich to loch an uaine (aka the emerald loch) for a bit of a quieter experience.

This is the highest natural sandy beach in the UK and the water here is absolutely clean and perfect. The water and the loch bed are so clean that it takes any colour of the sky, and so it is crucial coming here on a beautiful day. When the sky is clear, the loch is the bluest blue you'll ever see, it is so surreal. The scenery is to die for and the walk around the loch is enjoyable and memorable with many spots for perfect photographs. At night, it is so dark around the loch you can see all the constellations so clearly. Plenty of parking spots nearby. My most favourite loch in Scotland.

Tucked away in the sleepy Black Isle coastal village of Fortrose IV10 is an unexpected pleasure. Small from the outside it’s deceptively large and once you open the door it’s a feast for the eyes, nose and mouth. So many amazing dishes and they truly tantalise the tastebuds. Most locally sourced, all fresh and seasonal. The service was brilliant the team obviously passionate and took time to explain, chat and make you feel so welcomed. There was food for every palate and every dish was both generous, flavourful and beautifully presented. I cannot recommend IV10 highly enough, go visit. It’s sublime! Oh and they even have a deli. What’s not to love.
