Small tiny frothy coffee in a small, loud park still better than Jolenes across the road

Great sandwiches and coffee. My go to is a bacon, mustard and mushroom

Decided to get a cheese toastie, apparently they only do them for children, when I asked for one. We can do an adult sized one for you , I got told, so I went for it, and a hot chocolate, well the hot chocolate was very small, luke warm & indeed was for a child . I wished I took a photo, then the toastie came, well I am wondering if a child's version was any smaller than I got, and £7.90 in total, for the tiniest amount is daylight robbery, oh an I even had to go back and ask for it to be cut in half, what shop does not cut a sandwich in half, then bunged back into the bag, with the grease proof paper entwined around it, not what one would expect from an eatery. Will not buy here again... 👎

I visit the place with my friends in a rainy day, the girls that worked there was really helpful to accommodate all as and prepare a table for 7 people, drinks and food was nice as well

Such Lovely Cafe, the hallumi bap was delicious and a lovely young woman called rosie made me an amazing hot chocolate and the brownie was out of this world

For 4.5 the breakfast booster smoothie is a baby size. About two sips :(

I ordered a chai latte, surprised by the size. The smallest ice late that I have seen. The staf has to show the clients the size of the cups, if I would know I wouldn’t ordered. It cost me £3.50 this small cup😳

I’ll be thinking of that salt beef sandwich for a while now. After 9 years in the area finally popped by, I’m now ashamed I’ve not been before.

Lizzy runs a wonderful friendly cafe and cake making business. The staff are super and the food is amazing. I regularly order cakes and Xmas goodies. The Yule Logs are scrumpy. Highly recommended.

After helping to save Lizzys through their fundraiser they repay us by going cashless!@ using covid as an excuse!! Will not be using them anymore and hope that no one else does either this is Newington green and we are a community who deserve choice!!!

Gorgeous location in the middle of Newington green. Coffee is decent but nothing special. The food is generally really good! It’s a locally funded cafe which is great and really does have a community feel about it. Lots of local dog walkers and parents with chicken who have their school nearby come here. Great meeting point and lovely seating area for the summer / good weather

Lizzy's is absolutely phenomenal. The Baps are amazing, the coffee very good. But the best part is the green. It's such a wonderful atmosphere. Definitely worth spending a nice morning with Lizzy's.

New favourite spot in Canonbury. The booster smoothie with fried egg bap in the sun was a perfect way to start the weekend.

Staff was unpleasant. I ordered this "tomato and feta" roll but I could only see carrot; it tasted like curry, ginger, turmeric, not sure it had any feta or tomato in it and to make it worse it was dry. It took them over 10 minutes to heat it and it was still cold inside. The place is cute but I had a very unpleasant experience in general, especially considering everything is overpriced.

You know that feeling when you're walking through the park in the butter cold and a cafe rises from the fog like an oasis in a desert? That's Lizzy's. Great baps, great surroundings!

Because the food and coffee are very good here, low rating is purely down to the staff. Have been living locally for a few years and given it many chances as it’s in a great location right on the green, perfect for a morning coffee. But the staff are pretty unpleasant, which has lead me to stop going here. They have got my order wrong a couple times, which is fine, but they got very defensive and rude on both occasions. If you’re looking for a nice setting and good coffee, go here but be warned the staff are not going to help make it a pleasant experience

Haven’t tried any pastries or food yet, but the coffee here is great 10/10. I usually just get Long Black. The café is very cute, plus they also have heaters and blankets too, which are much needed right now)))

Such a great little place for breakfast or lunch. Lizzy's cake making skills are legendary.

Queued up during normal opening hours to be then told ‘kitchen’s closed’. At least have the decency to pin up a notice so we don’t waste time for absolutely nothing. They must be doing brilliantly well to turn away customers on a Sunday. My advice? Don’t bother, hop over the road to Acoustic.

Good coffee but not dependable (sorry!) with sporadic opening hours. Just turned up for a coffee at 15:30 but already closed for the day almost half an hour early. Acoustic is more reliable but maybe not as good coffee...

A little gem, right in the centre of Newington Green. I always get the BLAT bap, I can assure you, you won't be disappointed, it is delicious! Lovely little spot with outdoor seating, would definitely recommend!

Good service + good coffee for grabbing on a walk around the green.

I tried to politely enquire as to if they if the toilets within 2 metres of their kiosk happened to have a baby change facility. Pretty rude and abrupt answer to say "they're not our toilets"! Maybe they get asked a lot as the only explanation for what seemed a reasonable question.

Lizzies does a lovely coffee but there's so many dogs wandering in and out of the area! I know they don't go near the food but they really shouldn't go so near the serving areas! I do love the fish finger sandwiches though sooo delicious!!

A north London institution, regular friendly staff and quick service

It's nice but not very clean looking. The people are very friendly but the coffee is not very tasty

Highly recommend if you’re in north London/Stoke Newington area. Really great coffee and great food. Has seats outside, but it’s just as nice to lounge in the grass on the Newington Green squere. Lizzie, the owner, runs and works there herself and is very nice and warm, so a genuine joy to support this indie business.

Good coffee, and quite nice food, specially the baps, delicious! The staff is also super nice, and the outdoor space is great in sunny days 🌞

I would really recommend the coffee, which is great! However, I got sold a very stale croissant the other day. My experience with the service has also been mixed - one of the guys who works there was super friendly with a great sense of humour, then I got a super grumpy person. Ah well!

Love this place. Lizzy is amazing.

Absolutely insane pricing. I mean, 3+ pounds for a cappuccino with oat milk in a takeaway cup at a kiosk?! This is just madness. No way this is ever justifiable. Giving two stars instead of one because the coffee was decent. I just can’t wrap my head around the prices. Never again.

Waited for 15 minutes to get an iced americano. When I complained about the wait, the blonde waitress told me that “complaining won’t speed the process.”

Best coffee in town. Best decaff, too. And hearty food for the soul. Community hub with outstanding cakes. Cosy rugs for chilly days and artisan gelato for sunny ones. It makes Newington Green a sought after destination....

Lovely cafe on islington Green. So lovely to sit outside and drink the great coffee and eat the lovely cake. Highly recommended and I walked round the whole green to find this wonderful cafe. Does decaff as well.

Too expensive and only for people who have money which is a shame as many a poor family play on the green.lower your prices.

Lovely local spot to grab a bacon and egg roll to kick off a weekend. It’s a little pricey when you add a few bits and pieces, but it’s worth every penny.

Lizzy serves the best coffee in Stokey and cakes and food are freaking delicious too. Great place for kids as well as it’s located in the park.

I work on newington green and start work at 8am. I have multiple times arrives at a couple of minutes to and even tho the cafe is fully open and set up and staff are sat outside in the sun, I’ve multiple times been told in a short and rude way that the cafe isn’t open until 8 which at this point is no more than 90 seconds away.

Nice little place but what a disappointment! I ordered a salt beef sandwich and asked if there was a choice of bread. I was told no it came in a roll. I was served strips of dried salt beef in a sweet brioche-type bap. A sickly sweet experience when eaten with hot mustard and gherkin. Also included rocket. Since when?? I took a couple of bites and threw the rest away. £5.50. I should have gone to the bagel shop in stoke Newington . Now THAT'S a salt beef sandwich. I know each to there taste but really, why spoil a good recipe. Sorry girls! I'll try to post the photo.

Au centre du petit square de Newington Green se trouve un adorable petit kiosque entouré d'une pelouse où les beaux jours accueillent familles, chiens et amateurs de bronzage en ville.Lizzy's on the Green propose une variété de plats maison appétissants et vraiment délicieux : toasts à l'avocat, aux champignons à l'huile de truffe, salades, quiches et une variété de dessert maison également.L'endroit est connu pour son excellent café que vous pouvez déguster sur la terrasse en bois ou emporter.En été, la terrasse accueille parfois des concerts en plein air et par temps froid, des couvertures sont mises à disposition.Le tableau ne serait pas complet sans mentionner la gentillesse de la patronne et des serveuses.Enfin, quelques prises de courant sont mises à disposition pour charger les portables, ce qui est assez rare sur une terrasse !L'endroit idéal pour prendre un petit déjeuner avec son journal ou pour un déjeuner romantique.

In reference to an earlier review, this cafe is neither pretentious nor over-priced. I had a hot fish sandwich and fruit juice and it cost me little more than a fiver. Frankly I wish more London parks had a small cafe with outdoor seating... just like this one.

Overpriced pretentious café catering for the new, white, gentrified and Yuppie classes who can afford to pay overinflated prices for houses, flats, food and coffee while also supporting equality. An oxymoron of the highest proportions.

Serving the best Alchemy coffee in London. My new go to since Reilly Rocket closed. You can always tell the good coffee places if they use Bon Soy - even if you don't drink soya milk, the test never fails to reveal excellent coffee.

I have just eaten my first cake from LOTG and it was possibly the best ever. Nuts, dates, and various unknown ingredients. generous portion and absolutely lovely without being sickly/sugary. I shall be back....

Cute little set up, brilliant idea. It's the kind of place you wish you had started. Coffe was decent, standard London prices. Friendly staff behind the counter and loads of variety to pick from for such a small place.

Although it's well-stocked and accessible, it's overpriced and is very much on the pretentious side patronised by the increasingly gentrified white, "yuppie" types (mostly Champagne Socialists) who think that spending around £3 on a latte, a couple more on a croissant and a few more on a slice of cake, they're average normal working people. I'd suggest bringing a flask of coffee to the park, a few sandwiches and a picnic blanket rather than indulge yourself in the tweeness of this little cafe that thinks it's big.

El mejor café y tartas! Nos encantó este pequeño café durante años. Recientemente dieron a conocer el personal y saber cómo trabajan duro para mantener el nivel de servicio muy altos. Es una verdadera joya en esta comunidad, y no sólo en un café, pero un centro social para el encuentro de las personas, comer, pasear al perro o simplemente tomar un café y charlar.

This place is what it is a tiny coffee house on the green. If you want a great coffee and okay food whilst walking through then this is the place. If you want proper breakfast go to a proper restaurant.

Waited to get served without success.

Walked past this place for years but never tried it. Decided I fancied an ice cream on one of the hottest days of the year. Staff very pleasant but the smallest scoop of too-sweet vanilla I have ever had and for £2. Better off heading to the ice cream van outside Clissold Park methinks.

Me encanta este pequeño lugar. Vivimos la vuelta de la esquina y tan pronto como el sol comienza a brillar vamos a Lizzy. La truncó aguacate es mi favorito y tengo cada vez. Es por lejos el mejor truncó avo en Londres (y he probado un montón). La cafetería está situada dentro de un lugar verde newington, tales bastante para sentarse y comer. El personal es siempre muy encantador. Nunca estamos decepcionados aquí

Visitamos hoy después de andar pasando por muchos meses. Aguacate realmente delicioso y queso feta en tostadas - porción de buen tamaño por 4.50 libras. Tartas caseras y deliciosos parecía pero no probamos. El personal era amable. Es un lugar muy agradable y sin duda volveré otro día soleado.
