had our wedding reception here they went above and beyond they decorated the area we used perfectly the food was amazing everyone commented how nice it was relatives in Ireland wished they lived nearer we can't thank all the staff enough for making our day so special

My local , and has been for over 20 years

Me my partner and my sister came into this establishment. Upon arrival the bar was very full. My sister (pregnant) went to the toilet straight away myself and my boyfriend were asked to leave as it was closed to a funeral which was completely understandable. After leaving I called and politely asked that if it’s closed to a private event that a sign should be placed outside stating this ( I walked in wearing bright yellow ) the man on the phone apologised and seemed to understand l… however after about 10 minutes a lady phoned me back asking who I thought I was talking to and commented on the disrespectful way I spoke to (a female) member of staff over the phone. She threatened to post me on Facebook (for god knows what) According to them I was rude when all I suggested was a sign stating that it was closed for a private event … how embarrassing

Very friendly atmosphere and a real log fire to warm yourself. The young lady behind the bar was very welcoming and helped us settle in. Food was delicious, I have a dairy allergy so I opted for the vegan burger and it was very tasty, my friend had macaroni cheese with bacon. Would recommend

Went there for Sunday lunch which we really enjoyed, food was excellent and staff were really friendly.

It was okay. It had a lack of real ales only generic beers. Not a place I will return to in a rush.

This was a really lovely friendly pub. Unfortunately it was was visited in sad circumstances,as of a funeral. But they did lay on a lovely spread paid for by the family. But all staff came and collected empty plates. Made freshly made coffee and tea as we entered. Very welcoming staff and very friendly.

My last 2 visits for a sunday lunch have been disappointing! Good food I can not fault that but when asked for a zero alcoholic large in a bottle no glass was given and when asked for one it took the young lady I have to say who looked very stressed about 10 minutes and had to remind her again! Was told they had only pork and beef so asked for pork and then was given chicken ! the second time I could not even get served so walked out.i know there is staffing issues especially when busy and know all about retail work but I think it something to be looked at to keep your customers.

Only been once. Popped in for a drink. Looked popular with the amount of cars outside. Must have been diners because we only saw a few in the bar. This was a Friday night about 7pm

Went to a party at the weekend, disappointing in the buffet, definitely wouldn't recommend, for the money. Our drinks got dearer every round, as the night progressed, for exactly the same drinks!! Leaves a bit of a bitter taste in your mouth tbh. Not enough staff on duty to cope with all the customers.

A very pleasant community boozer, decent food and some nice beverages

Nice we only went to watch the match couldn't get in anyway else sound system is rubbish couldn't hear a word anybody was saying small TV. The fish and chips was ok but very expensive. I will not be going back

I was only in there for a few minutes but I've never felt more unweclcomed at an establishment, I was looking to eat out with my Partner and as soon as we stepped foot in the place all of the customers just stared right at us. I'm not being overdramatic about 20 odd people burning a hole in the back of my head and of course passing remarks as we walked past and through the pub trying to find a place to sit down to order. I can't say anything about the food or drink (Hence why I left 3 stars, I can't say something is bad without trying it additionally we weren't in there long enough to try it). Overall my short experience guided me to this realisation if you don't have a hairline and enjoy EDL get togethers you'll find your people in here on a Saturday night!

Good choice of beers (Morretti) but place lacks atmosphere...too light.

After trying to book lots of different places we managed to get in here for lunch. The steak was amazing! Very friendly and helpful.

I've driven passed this place many times and to my mind it doesn't look very 'appetising' so have never visited until now. It was only because someone we trusted had eaten here and said it was ok that we decided to give it a go. The food was good, served hot and on clean plates, and the portion sizes were generous. The tables were sticky and the seating well used. Prices and service were acceptable. I think this place is aiming for the economy family market in which it is succeeding. This isn't a place for a romantic evening or to take someone there to impress. Overall though it appears to be catering for the needs of locals. Well worth an economy visit.

Went to a buffet following a funeral. Food was very varied and very tasty. Plenty of choice. Staff were friendly and there was a lovely fire burning. Just what we needed on such a cold day!

We had an enjoyable meal recently here, the food was very tasty and there was a good variety to choose from the menu. I made a query for a table on the day we wanted to book and although there was a large party booking, they still accommodated us. We would always visit again as you can guarantee a nice meal and good service.

Their sweet potato fries are TO DIE for! Great friendly atmosphere and family friendly. Would recommend for a pub lunch, and ALWAYS get sweet potato fries with the burger sauce!
