The staff are really nice here and the coffee is good . The price is a bit more than I usually pay so I wouldn't visit that often .

We had our first visit to Tic Toc today to have a birthday breakfast , easy place to find can't comment on parking as we walked but there is a local car park . Good choice of options for all tastes if you ask me , nice decor , good service and polite staff . Bit more pricey that than i would expect but it was a treat . What we ordered arrived present & correct all nice and freshly cooked and served up. All in all very good

Every time I go to Tick Tock Coffee & Wine Bar something is always missing from my order and the Customer Service etiquette is very poor. In my opinion the employees do not care and their main priority is to finish the day and go home. I ordered gin & tonics and it is the second time the Tick Tock Coffee & Wine Bar does not have ice. Certain ingredients for the sandwiches were out of stock. It’s the second time the employees mop the cafe while their clients are drinking and eating at the tables. The cleaning product used has a very strong smell. The cafe closes at 4:00pm and the employee began mopping at 3:45pm. Mopping and cleaning should be done once all clients are gone and the store is closed. In addition, a wet floor is a huge liability issue but of course the employees are not thinking. I am not going to pay full price for items that do not have all the ingredients and have to deal with the smell of cleaning products and a mop swiping around my table and legs. Tick Tok Coffee & Wine Bar has lost a client plus my friends.

This is a hard review because I love the food at the cafe so much, but the service at the weekends is terrible. You’re never greeted with a smile. The last two times we’ve visited we have not left happy. The first time a couple of months ago we waited an hour for two breakfasts, which didn’t even come out together so one person had finished before the others person had arrived . Both breakfasts were fry ups! One came without toast as well. The second time we got our food within 45 minutes but no drinks so we left without ever having had a tea or coffee. Even though we chased the drinks up twice. They also still added them to the bill! Obviously we didn’t pay for them.

I am a regular to Little Pickle/Tick Tock. Been going for years as my friend lives local. Been twice since new ownership and disappointed with the changes. Firstly only ever used to go for the Coronation Chicken . It's rare to find this filling and they used to do it so well, I literally couldn't order anything else it was so good but it's since been removed from the menu. I can't find a decent Coronation Chicken anywhere else, so disappointed. Also not as many nice options on the menu anymore. It's mainly sandwiches which are lovely and fresh but not as exciting as the previous menus options. Went recently and a friend ordered an egg sandwich only to be told we have no boiled eggs ready, come on Tick Tock, something basic such as egg mayo on menu and you're not organised with the eggs, I definitely feel not as good as before but I will be back as it's a nice little place, just gutted I can't have my old favourite!

Always hear great things about tick tock and it’s staff. They’re always so welcoming and the food is lovely! It’s freshly made and a local business which is a plus. They’ve previously done things such as arts and crafts mornings so definitely worth checking out any further events if you’re looking for a breakfast / lunch out with children etc.

I visited here with a small group of friends and we really enjoyed our visit! We ordered open toasted ciabatta sandwiches and they were lovely!! So nicely cooked and full of flavour. Milkshakes were also great! Service was quick, the decor is nice, and it wasn’t too busy to find a seat inside. There is also nice seating outside for the summer months. Parking is difficult in the square so had to park on the road which can be a little walk due to double yellows but other than that the place is lovely!

My mum, brother and I came in for a spot of lunch on a weekday and left a bit underwhelmed. Firstly, it's not called little pickle anymore... but all the online stuff I could find (apart from google maps) still calls it this which confused me when I tried to find the place. Also, when I went to order food I was ignored by two members of staff, until a lady came rushing over from clearing tables. Then I found out they didn't have what I wanted and that it would be a 20 minute wait on food (understandable as it was 1pm and busy-ish) which was told to me quite snappily by a lady that had her back to me and while another was operating the till and taking the order. It shocked me a bit that she could not even turn around and say this nicely to me or the lady on the till and to be honest, put a bad taste in my mouth. So I decided not to get any food for myself as the rest of the menu was a little basic and underwhelming but quite pricey for what was on there. Lastly, when my mum and brother got their food, they both did said they enjoyed it. The kids food had great options for the 'choose 5 things' meals and when I asked for specific things for my fussy eating brother, it was done well. My mum also said she liked her salad she got from the specials board but said it wasn't anything amazing. Overall, I was expecting good things from this place and although I understand that it might have been an off day and it was busy-ish, I just felt a bit underwhelmed by the whole experience, which is really a shame.

I visited Little Pickle with my husband and daughter one after afternoon and was lucky enough to get a table straight away. I fancied a tuna mayonnaise sandwich but was a little disappointed to hear it was ready mixed with a lemon mayo and they couldn’t cater for me wanting “normal” tuna mayo. So I picked the Croque monsieur instead. I’m so glad I did!! It was amazing! I think I’ll always choose one the next time we go. They made up a lovely little plate for my daughter too with a chocolate cupcake. She felt very special. Highly recommended!

Our monthly gathering took us to Little Pickle for coffee and cake. What a fab place, friendly, helpful staff. Comfortable seating areas. Very nicely decorated. Coffee was lovely and the girls who had cakes assured me they too were fab. Highly recommended you pop along and try for yourself. They also offer free water bottle top ups (Refill app) and not forgetting the dogs, they also have their own bowl outside the door. Crayons for the kids. Family friendly. Would I go back there...definitely!

Went for lunch today, im not one to complain but i manage a coffee shop in the town centre and inwas astonished with the service, firstly we walked inside it was a nice sunny day so we thought we woukd sit outside so went inside to be expected to be greeted by staff only ti be ignored and had to find a menu from a table to take outside , secondly we had chosen what we had wanted so went inside to order only again to be totally ignored by three members of staff behind the till, we waited patiently to then be approached by a member of staff who then just looked at me , no hello! Or no apology for keeping you waiting, we put our order through.. at this point i ordered my food along with a san pellogrini which i was told we do not have anymore, i asked for something similar which the assistant checked the fridge , and as she was checking i noticed san pellogrini behind, she then handed me the can, no offer of a glass with ice( it was a hot day)we sat outside not wanting to make a fuss, after about 5 minutes i was bought a glass again with no ice, we had to go and ask,our food was delicious on the plus side i have no complaints about that although the foccacia serving was a bit mingy.. but overall i was shocked at the service.. no greeting! No sorry to keep you waiting! Or i will be with you shortly! And then greeted with a blank stare.. utterly dissapointed as i live near and would reguarly use this shop but not now! I hear its under new management! ??

Working extremely close to Little Pickle I am familiar with the food as our company uses them very frequently. My daughter and myself took my mother along as a 'treat', but was very disappointed with the portion size. We previously went there back in the summer and had an open tuna toastie each which is delicious and which was very filling and fulfilling. On Sunday we had the same but the portion size had decreased. Instead of 2 slices of bread it was one and half. A half filled pot of sweet pickle and minimal salad. My mother had a full sandwich which thankfully had 2 slices of bread. I wish now I had said something as the prices are pretty high compared to other coffee shops. I will think twice again about going and will inform others that the portion size has changed. It might not sound like worth complaining but when paying those prices I feel very let down.

Love this place, BUT, the recent change in bread for the sandwiches is such a shame. The new bread is not half as nice as the old one, the crusts are soft (not nice and crunchy as before) and it's never as fresh or tasty as the other bread used previously.

This place is a joke. We arrive at 11am for breakfast/brunch. We order two breakfasts, one bacon sandwich and one open sandwich. Ten minutes later were told there is no mushrooms or tomatoes. So we change one breakfast to a sandwich and the other remains but without said items. A further twenty minutes later we're told they've ran out of everything but bacon. Why wait nearly half an hour to tell us that what we had ordered was unavailable?! We were then offered a chance to chose something else or get a refund. We opted for a refund but were given our bill minus the drinks - which we had already had to change since they had ran out of apple juice (seriously?!). The manager had clearly left the newest member of the team (i'm assuming as she needed help with the order system and locating items) to let us know and she was clearly very nervous too! Will never return to this place - bar the poor girl that had to deliver us the bad news the staff were rude and unwelcoming! Would not recommend this place to anyone!

I visited Little Pickle for a coffee with my partner and on arrival there was a man at the counter giving his order. There were 4 members of staff behind the counter, I was studiously ignored and they did not seem to be fully occupied. The person at the counter kept changing his mind and after 3 minutes we sat dead opposite no more than 3 ft away. Just as the person finished ordering their food a couple of women came in and one of the women stood at the counter. The woman behind the till despite knowing we had entered before her then started to take her order. I interrupted and said I think we were first she said you had to stand at the till to order and I had sat down! I pointed out that I would have been standing at the counter for about 8 minutes, she said that "you stand at the counter and then we bring the food to you". Not wanting to put any money in the pocket of someone who had zero customer service skills I said don't worry we are leaving.

My husband and I did a Google search for 'coffee shops near me' one day while we were working on site in Duston. There were the usual suspects: all the chains, but we prefer to support independently run businesses, and The Little Pickle sounded like a good bet.Sadly, they were out of wholewheat bread by the time we got there, so I had to opt for white. It was lovely and fresh. I had a coronation chicken sandwich and my husband had a tuna melt thingy. He had coffee and I decided to try the chilli chocolate (can I just say omnomnom?). Service was friendly. Decor lovely and quaint. The setting is a lovely converted stable/barn set up. The prices were a tad higher than average, but that can be the case when you don't have the buying power that the chains can play claim to.

I'm usually a big fan of this cafe but my experience today has made me second think going again. The manager on duty was rude and abrupt when we entered and asked if we could push 2 tables together. She then set a pan of fat alight and shouted and screamed for someone (presumably the owner) rather than dealing with it quickly. Our young children were scared due to the shouting and visible flames and I'm not sure how it would have been dealt with had the boss not have been there. Our drinks took over half an hour to arrive and the food portions were much smaller than usual. I love the green pesto open sandwich. Previously you'd get 3 slices of bread, this time I got two very thin slices. Considering its 70p more expensive than the other sandwiches, it's smaller size was significantly noticeable. I left hungry and ended up eating again at home. The light in the toilet wasn't working, when I told the lady in charge she replied it wasn't working because when people turn it on and off too much it cuts out and told the waitress to give me a torch. The torch didn't work and we all had use the loo in the dark.I appreciate there were only 2 members of staff to deal with a busy cafe but I think i5 impacted customer service and I would be hesitant to go back.

I sometimes go there for breakfast as its convenient, however, it really is hit and miss whether you have to wait 10 mins, or 30 mins for the same dish when it is never packed out in there and always at least 3 staff working. One time they even forgot the food order! I go back to give them another chance but its wearing thin now. Who wants to eat their food when their tea/coffee is now cold, or is this a ploy to get you to buy another drink? I see that Upton is under development so maybe there will be some competition.

I was in the neighbourhood at a property viewing and I was desperate to use the loo. I found this cafe and as I walked in, I heard a women say 'excuse me', but as I was so desperate, I just went and would buy something afterwards. After I finished, the same lady was outside waiting for me and said 'did you know it was common courtesy to ask to use the loo?' I replied saying I was sorry and I was just desperate to go and quickly went in. She then said 'Well this is a customer and staff toilet only' I still proceeded to apologise but I did explain that there were no signs anywhere saying who the toilet use was for. The women continued to say I was rude to which I then thought I'd tell her why I was so desperate... I said 'Don't you realise its an offence to refuse a pregnant lady to go to the loo, you can't stop me from going'. I thought she might have forgotten about it but instead she turned round and said 'Well you don't look that bloody pregnant to me'! I was absolutely disgusted! I couldn't believe an older lady would speak to a new 'soon to be mum' like that just because I used the toilet! I think it's safe to say I won't be visiting this cafe again, even though I am moving round the corner and I'll be sure to warn the neighbours off of it too. It is a shame as the area is lovely but this older blonde haired staff woman should be sacked speaking to mothers like that, it's a disgrace!!

Lovely atmosphere, the ladies had so much information on Gluten Free, even gave me a GF bread for the starter and offered GF cake for dessert. Visited recently with my friends to celebrate a special event but had the whole afternoon spoiled by the rude older waitress and the stinginess of the portions. We arrived at two o'clock and before our cheeks even touched the seats we were told that we had to be out by 3:45 as they were closing at 4:00 and had to clean up before they left. Felt like we were imposing in a moody old nans front room; not the experience we were looking for. It would have been a miracle to have still been eating the Afternoon tea come 4 o'clock any how due to the incredibly stingy portions we were offered. The per person portion equated to three triangles of a sandwich (not even a whole sandwich), two tiny pieces of cake and HALF a scone!!! Yes that's right; HALF a scone! When we asked Ol' Nan when the rest of the scones were coming we were abruptly told that 'it's always been half a scone per person'. As if?! I used to really like this spot but it's massively let down by the service and Ol Nan's wartime rations which bring it down to the level of a transport cafe. Wouldn't recommend unless you're a glutton for punishment and not scones!

We visited on a Sunday morning just after opening and that may have contributed to our disappointing visit but there were only two members of staff on, one complained frequently of regretting to work Sunday morning after a night out (!!!!) and the other usually worked afternoons so was covering for another team member. There was a suggestion from another customer that usually there are 3 people working on a Sunday morning which prompted another discussion delaying serving the long queue even further!!!! When our drinks arrived there was an apology for the delay and we were advised that there would be about a 15 minute delay on food orders which we expected on a Sunday morning. When our bacon sandwiches arrived they were lovely but not enough bacon for the size of loaf used. I would rather pay another 50p and have enough bacon to taste. I am sure our rating would have been higher had the service been speedier - I just felt unwelcome! Another member of staff arrived as we left at about 11am.

I have always really enjoyed my visits to this lovely little cafe but the last few times Have not been great. The quality of presentation is always good and the staff friendly, but unfortunately this is let down by the service. About 2 months ago I had my first issue when I visited with my family and waited for nearly an hour for a sandwich! After 30 mins I enquires as to the delay and was told very politely that it would be ready shortly and they had been very busy. There was only one other table being served and 3 staff working. We were offered complimentary drinks but no apology. I returned a couple of weeks later knowing that everyone has not such a good day sometimes. However, after cake arrived our drinks did not. I had to go and ask. They had been forgotten. The couple on the next table waited so long for their cake that they asked for it to be bagged up as a take away as they had to be somewhere. They commented to us that the service had slipped. I returned today and nearly walked back out. Every table had dirty plates left on them, food on the floor, 3 staff working and only 3 customers. We were there for 45 mins and on leaving the tables were still the same, our drinks forgotten, staff commenting that the manager wasn't in so no one was in charge and they were so so busy. There were only 3 customers! Our drinks arrived after we had finished our cake after another long wait once I had reminded them. The next table's tea was also forgotten. They serve tea and cake, how difficult can this be?! Sadly after being a loyal customer for the past couple of years I will not be returning as I end up stressed and not relaxed!

Really relaxed atmosphere with friendly helpful staff. If you want just a coffee it's great but I would recommend the lovely selection of quality open sandwiches and fantastic home made cakes. We just have keep going back for more.

Great coffee. Lovely breakfast, brunch, lunch or afternoon tea. Inside and outside tables presented really well with a homely feel and nice atmosphere. Really good quality and service so much better than the big brands!

This was my second visit in a few weeks. The first time I was quite impressed with the food as I had the Croque Monsieur which was an excellent portion size despite the slightly high price. However, on this visit I ordered the salmon and cream cheese open sandwich and was disappointed to receive 3 small slices of bread (less than half the size of a normal slice of bread) with cream cheese and a tiny piece of salmon. Don't get me wrong, the bread was nice and I know salmon is expensive but I expected more for £5.95. That is nearly £2 per small slice! Anyway, the tea was OK and things are presented nicely but I'd be more careful about checking portion size if I went again.

Great place to meet friends and catch up. Lovely food including cakes. Children/buggy friendly :-) Only downer for me is the tea is with tea leaves which I am not a fan of so will have a hot chocolate next time.

From the minute we walked in, no real greeting, looked like the staff did not want to be there. Asked for a receipt & made to feel like I was asking for something out of the ordinary! Food was OK! Shame as used to be a friendly welcoming place!

I love this little coffee shop/cafe, it has really tasty sandwiches and salads and a fantastic selection for children of all ages. Despite being really nicely decorated they are so child friendly and never seem to worry about things which might be flung from the high chair every now and again! They also have a good range of hot drinks and really good cakes. Worth a visit if you are in the area.

Lovely ambience inside the venue , I ordered I coronation chicken sandwich which arrived with a well dressed salad my friend had a sandwich containing ham and Brie both absolutely gorgeous, fresh ingredients, well presented and not overpriced! I've been to this place a few times as is just around the corner. Service can be painfully slow. Today I ordered tea cakes and coffee and our coffees had been drunk before the tea cakes arrived. We were offered complimentary coffees which arrived just as we were leaving . The restaurant was not packed today so I can't understand why the service was so slow. Also whilst waiting to enquire about our tea cakes I was watching the young girl behind the counter 'washing up' This involved wiped the inside of the cup with a cloth whilst holding it in her hand. Yuk! Really think shared crockery should be soaked in hot soapy water, not just wiped out.

I visited with my wife on a Saturday afternoon and overall we left happy. The cafe is part of a lovely little courtyard and feels right inside, not trying too hard to be über trendy as can be found elsewhere. The menu overs great choice and the food we had was lovely. I did ask for an alternative to coleslaw which seemed a problem and extra side options would help. The service has that slightly haphazard but endearing quality that fits the theme, agree with below though the water they leave out could do with fresher looking glasses. Good spot, will be back.

A friend recommended this little independant cafe and it was a joy to visit. If your tired of all the main stream, franchised coffee shops and cafes, try Little Pickle. Its food is all fresh and handmade, sandwiches are great and they do a good hot chocolate.Specials change regularly and the staff are always friendly. The afternoon tea is a real treat.Give it a go and forget and the franchises.

We had a lovely quick dinner comprising 3 Jacket Potatoes (2 with Tuna and Lemon Mayonnaise and one with 3 Cheese & Onion), 1 x Chocolate Milkshake, 1 x Elderflower Cordial and 1 x 12oz Chilli Hot Chocolate. The staff were fantastic. My wife is a coeliac and as it turned out the Jacket Potatoes we were after were not quite ready. However, the lady checked all the potatoes, found 3 that were almost finished, and finished them off quickly in the microwave (This is not normal practice however, we just turned up before they were supposed to be ready)Lovely decor and relaxed atmosphere, would definitely visit again.

Visited the little pickle for the first time today - lovely little cafe, very relaxed and friendly staff. We each had a BBQ chicken and coleslaw panini which was very, very tasty and well presented, only thing I'd say is it would have been nice to have some sort of salad or side with it as it looked a little lonely on its own. They also offer a gluten free option with all sandwiches so I will be bringing my Dad here when he visits - it would be great if they could look into offering a gluten free option cake or scone so that he could sample their apparently excellent afternoon tea.

Came here for a quick lunch with a friend. Pleasant atmosphere, appeared clean. We ordered the open sandwich of mozzarella pesto and tomato and they were very tasty and I would have again. My criticism would be about the drinks. I like to drink tap water which is readily available in a jug and is a help yourself. The glasses look grubby, I am sure they are clean and it is the dishwasher marks but it is off putting and also the water sits out uncovered and gets warm and stale. Personally I would rather have my water fresh from the tap. The staff are helpful and friendly and I am sure they would put fresh water into the jugs if requested but I do think they need to cover this. I also like to drink black coffee, I have to say this was quite weak and tasteless, that I would not have again. Minor problems which could be easily overcome.

Living locally to this wonderful little coffee shop I enquired about a picnic hamper service, my enquiry was dealt ever so quickly and the service was brilliant. It was something they were looking to set up and were actually already in the process of buying the hampers. I was given several options, I could have chosen breakfast, lunch or afternoon snack. I opted for the lunch package which gave us a variety of sandwiches made with the loveliest crusty bread and yummy fillings, carrot and cucumber sticks served with humus, kettle chips and a selection of homemade cakes which were all washed down with traditional lemonade. I was over the moon with the basket when I went to collect, it even came with a matching blanket. The whole process was so easy and would definitely recommend it to anyone, I wanted to do this as a surprise for my husband for our wedding anniversary and glad I decided to use Little Pickle. Will be going back for a coffee and cake or a sandwich soon.

Having known the area for over 40 years it was a nostalgia visit, pleasantly surprised. Staff a little hap hazard but friendly enough, cutlery was dirty but apologies made. It obviously caters for the la di da types - it used to be the pig sheds. Food was actually very nice, hot sandwich and cream tea was anyway.

A family member just moved to the St. Crispin's and came across Little Pickle Cafe. She was so impressed by the ambiance that she took us back to show us why she liked ir so much - now i wish we lived that close! The atmosphere is so good, the service is amazing and the food? Well, that blew us away! The quality was outstanding, but what really stood out for us was that the way the tea was served - in a little stone tea pot that had proper tea leaves and it own strainer inside! What a wonderful touch! We have also been told that even if what you fancy is not on the menu, as long as they have the ingredients, they are more than happy to prepare it for you! Cannot wait to go back!

We regularly visit this quiant coffee shop as a family treat. The coffee is of very good quality and the food is really good, including a great selection for my 3 year old. My wife loves the pesto and mozzarella open sandwich. They have toys for small children and a great selection of home made cakes. The food is made to order which you can see being made behind the counter. Its nice to support a small coffee shop rather than the popular tax avoiding corporations.

Very disappointing. The food is actually quite nice but they are so so stingy on their portions! They charge a fortune too and you don't even get much. When I went in, it was really cold in there too and even colder with the ladies serving (the younger one with dark hair is lovely, but the two older ladies have little customer service skills). The coffee is extortionate too for the price of what you actually get - the size of the coffee cups is tiny. Overall a disappointing experience. It's a shame they just don't get that they can't charge sky high prices and then give measly portions. I won't be going back.

There are teams in the English Premiership that have good players, great managers, they clearly have the potential to be European contenders ..... So, what's holding them back ? The stubborn, short sighted board that won't put their hands in their pockets to achieve the clubs true potential..... The Sunnyside is exactly like that and its screamingly obvious..... The overall atmosphere is off the planet, Courtney has bought excitement, vibrancy and too customer service to this too pub. His chef's are young but seriously excellent judging by the food i have week in week out... He has put together a young, fun vibration team that appeals very much to the client base and could bring in punters from further away ... THIS has the potential to be a team with European potential .... WHAT is stopping it from moving up a few gears .... There aee a few weak areas but this NOT a staff issue it's an investment issue.... Get your fingers out Marston. You've a Fantastic manager with a fantastic team .... Listen to Courtney.... Invest and reap the financial rewards .... Even so, bestest pub i know.....

We go mainly for our Son. Wacky warehouse has been a godsend to us whilst he’s a toddler and looking to burn off some energy. Victoria is always working in wacky warehouse when we are there and she is so attentive, always there to serve but also always interacts with the children and has even helped me when i’ve been on my own and my child has been having a meltdown about leaving. Couldn’t ask for better service, definitely enjoys her job and it shows!
