Picked to ho to this beautiful Arabic restaurant on a Tuesday night...walked in and the place is kicking! What an atmosphere! Then we order and the food was outstanding! Also the Jordanian house wine is fantastic ...a great venue and well deserved awards...I hope you open others in other cities soon! Lincoln would be nice please too!! 😍

A really pleasant dining experience. Great hosts and generous portions at very reasonable prices. A drinks menu which includes Jordanian wine and Lebanese beer, and knowledgeable staff who are quick to answer any questions.

I came here without booking. Big mistake! Definitely book! This place is popular for good reason and always busy! When I came back, with booked table, I was overwhelmed by how good the food was. Delightful staff, lovely relaxed atmosphere, but my god, the food. The food!! If you like colours, flavours and textures, you can't do better than this. I had marinated lamb tongue and I am a bit upset I can't eat it every day until I die.

A great rating and the fact that it’s a Jordanian restaurant - a cuisine I’ve had very little of - motivated me to take my family here during a Cambridge trip. Unfortunately this restaurant failed me. The chicken liver was bland and disappointing. The khubz was supermarket quality. The yakhannah and mousakkan were ok but scant in meat portions. I was ready to give them a 4-star review until we had dessert : basbousa and kunafah. And those were unforgivable. Cold, straight out of the fridge. And the kunafah didn’t have the authentic cheese but some lousy soft cheese knockoff, possibly labneh. And the basbousa was crumbly old. The service was fine, nothing to praise about. The atmosphere was not special, but buzzing. The bill was hard for me to pay after that disappointment. They should do much better to justify the current rating they have online.

Favourite restaurant in Cambridge 😊order the hummus!!!! Have visited many times and food is always brilliant!! Never had a bad meal, always take friends here and new people visiting Cambridge. Would recommend ordering lots of the cold and small plates to share. I’m a small eater so find the main meals big enough for 2 to share.

They’re opening hours are incorrect

We discovered this gem when staying in Cambridge. Arriving at 6.30 to find the restaurant already packed - we knew it was going to be special and it was. The staff were attentive but discreet and we were quickly served with drinks. We shared a Kibbeh Maklieh for a starter then both had the Lamb Moussaka which was packed with lamb and vegetables slowly and beautifully cooked. Both excellent. We plan to return next time we are in Cambridge, thank you!

My favourite restaurant in Cambridge. Incredible food, gorgeous atmosphere (especially PM), and the service is lovely. I recommend everything! However the hummus with lamb and the sea bass are two of my faves.

Service was a slow but understandable because it was a busy Friday. We were quite excited for the food but it was below average and quite blend.

Taste 9/10 I got the Lamb Moussaka, the lamb is so tender and tasty 11/10 easily, the taste of the moussaka itself is also great, the rice is okay 7/10 and the bread is not my fav 6/10; Portion with price 7.5/10; Service 7.5/10 the food is fast but no wifi provided for customers, nothing special; Cleanness 10/10; vibe 9/10 songs are nice, the pictures are lovely, the atmosphere is spacious.

Amazing, authentic food and large portion sizes

Had the mixed schwarma and some baba ganouj, the food was amazing. Everyone at the table was very impressed with their meals.

We ordered a takeaway from here as our first meal when we moved in to Cambridge. We came to pick it up a little ready and they had it all wrapped up and ready to go, and they were very friendly. We had the moussaka and the tabbouleh - we ordered extra bread (not realising we were given bread, lovely fragrant rice and pickled veg anyway) so now we have loads! It’s so nice we’re going to freeze the excess and use it with future meals. Everything is so flavourful and hearty and it tastes like a home cooked meal. It made us feel comforted, we will definitely be returning to sample their other dishes. Thank you!

Such a great place for a tasty meal. We always end up ordering a mix of appetizers and mains to share as a family. Food is always great, portions are awesome, service is attentive.

Very odd that you have to go to the till to pay, only to be presented with a touch screen showing 10%, 15%, 25% tipping options. I acted on auto pilot but it’s very sneaky of them to ask for a tip without providing us with the printed bill. Won’t be going back for this reason

If you want to get very disappointed it is right place to go!! If you think you will get there nice grilled food like usually Mediterranean meats are well deliciously grilled then well this not food you get in Little Petra. Before going there I checked menu if livers are served there/ me and my friend we are chicken livers lovers. Yes the had livers but despite on the menu card it says grilled- they are firstly cooked ( which makes them dry and crumbly and sort of grainy). Tbh Chicken and Lamb shawarma felt also like meat is first cooked then spiced but for sure not grilled as at least some bits would be crunchy. We raised liver issues with waiters and manager but they said they don’t chat grill here - as you’d expect in Jordan restaurant. I neve eaten cooked liver before when it says on the menu grilled. Service wasn’t great either and as you see from replay to complains here they don’t really care! If you want nice Mediterranean food there are better options in Cambridge that this bland meats- eating sald saved me. We took ale meats home and gave to pets as no use of that restaurant

Not impressed. Maybe because we went on a busy Saturday, but the overall experience was disappointing. We had a reservation and appeared to got the worst seat in an area best described as a broom closet. The acoustics so bad I could barely heard my wife. The first waiter was super polite but halfway in his welcoming got shuffled away by a colleague. The starters were mixed. The lamb&hummus was awesome. The chicken liver totally overcooked and bone dry. The mains (both lamb dishes) were cold, blend, totally overcooked and zero flavor. It felt it was made hours ago and left to stew. The pita bread was served in a plastic bag. I guess this keeps the bread moist, but unappealing. After we got our dinner the staff was nowhere to been seen. So no second glass of wine I reckon. At the bill there was a mandatory tip of either 15%, 20% or 25%. I really wanted to like this place. But maybe a weekday is a better option

We just stopped in for a lunch with the kids. We were welcomed in and they found a nice spot to accommodate us with a double buggy. We ordered falafel and mixed meze. They brought out some little complementary bites with tzatziki while we waited. The food came out with salad and pickles. We loved it and we'll be back.

There is only one vegan option on the mains but it is soooo tasty. I had the moussaka which is not greek moussaka. I'm definitely coming back to try some starters. The portion was reasonable, it came with rice and naan. The staff was nice and very quick. I had someone who didn't understand English very well. My drink m never came to the table. The music was a bit loud to take a call.

3 of us went for dinner on Saturday evening. Food was excellent as was the service. When the bill arrived I honestly thought they made a mistake. Excellent food at an excellent price !!!

I came from the US to visit my friends and we’ve decided to dine at this place during lunch hours. The food took about 20 min to come out and made us a little nervous since we were on a little time crunch, but that wasn’t an issue for us. I brought butter beer from London and was hoping to enjoy it with our meal, but the manager was quite rude to us about putting the drinks away. We wouldn’t have had any issues with putting the drinks away had the man asked nicely. His tone was quite upfront and aggressive. I asked the female server to surprise me with a dish and it came out quite unique/interesting and had salvaged the experience for me.

I recommend it 5 stars for the cuisine, service and environment, less so. Excellent food, unfortunately the service is not at the level of the food despite the courtesy of the waiters. Water is brought by the glass, no carafe or bottle. The place is noisy and I don't recommend the table under the cash register or those around the entrance door.

Very accommodating despite the restaurant being full and fully booked, great food and very friendly staff. All together a paradise. Gladly again 👍

Overrated. Not bad, but nothing fancy.

Overrated, bland food and awful service. Visited here a few weeks ago with a friend and had a rubbish experience overall. No redeeming features. Waited ages to be served. We ended up having to flag down a staff member to take our order. The food I ordered was missing some items (I ordered the Labneh which should have included black olives and mint and was missing both). The chicken kofte tasted like it had been microwaved, and the fries were dry and overdone. Even the bread tasted like it had been bought at a nearby shop. Nothing tasted remotely flavoursome or authentic and the waiting staff were rude and annoying; interrupting us midway through the dessert and tea, with the waitress attempting to take away my friend's hot chocolate before she had even finished it! When we did ask for the bill, the waitress said 'ok' and then disappeared. When we flagged down another staff member, we were told we needed to pay at the till. Not sure why the waitress couldn't have told us this in the first place. The guy at the till was lacking in manners (much like the rest of the staff) which topped off a disappointing visit. If you're looking for somewhere with a good taste of the Mediterranean then you'd be best off visiting The Olive Grove, Efes, Bedouin, or Al Casbah. Basically, anywhere but here, unless you enjoy throwing money away on bland food and awful service.

We ate here as we were visiting Cambridge for the day. Must say I was very disappointed with the food quality, I ordered a chicken shawarma and my husband ordered the marinated lamb. The food was dry, cold, and didn’t have much flavour at all. The service was polite. For dessert we ordered Kunafe and it was not nice at all. It left a bitter aftertaste. We’ve eaten at many Middle Eastern restaurants and this was unfortunately not a great dining experience.

When we came for dinner this evening, they said we would have to wait between an hour and 40 minutes. We said thank you. Then, as we were leaving to go somewhere else, they made us sit somewhere else. Then the waiter came again and said, "Can I take you to the next table for 2 people? Another customer will come here." We were 3 people. We stated that we would be there and chose to leave the restaurant. Frankly, the attitude was not nice. I do not think we will come again.

I have had one of the best Lovely family meal at Little Petra on Hills Road Cambridge on Thursday evening. Although he was fully booked ,the owner managed to find a table for me and the family which was much appreciated 💐. Very tasty food, great atmosphere, competent staff, very friendly owner, and quick and efficient service. mango crush juice, orange juice and lemon & mint drinks. Absolutely 😍 phenomenal. Thank you so much for your service ❤️ 🙏

Taste of Jordan… Big portion with reasonable price. Fresh bread with hummus, different varieties of dips, very yummy 😋 Turkish coffee also extraordinary, full of nuts favorite. 🤗

Very good Jordanian foods with good portions and amazing price. Fantastic meze, lamb shank was great marinated chicken was good too. Would love to try other menus next time too. Service was quite horrible, was not busy time yet only 1 staff was being attentive out of 5 who were just chilling and talking to each other even when we try to call them and make an eye contact, seriously disappointed of slow service, looks like they just don’t want to work at all.

Only concern was that the plate was not quite big enough for the huge amount of excellent food! :)

Great food and friendly service. Skip the starters as the mains are huge! Highly recommend the chicken fatteh. It was a bit weird to see the servers at times just standing there, still, looking at diners. Regardless, overall great experience.

Today I had the mixed grill and a Bedouin tea. The mixed grill was incredible value for money, it almost felt like a Man Vs Food challenge and didn't compromise on taste. The Bedouin tea, once a little sugar was added, reminded me of my trip to Jordan and drinking tea with the Bedouins. The gentleman on the till was friendly and welcoming and even gave me some small sweet bites to take away as I had to rush to leave due to commitments. Next time I'm in Cambridge, I'll definitely revisit.

I visited the restaurant earlier this month based on a friend’s good review. She said the dessert was really good and as we happened to be passing at around 5pm in the afternoon we decided to stop for tea and dessert. Upon entering we were greeted and given a table in a corner even though there were plenty of empty seats and tables. We were told there was a party of ten arriving shortly and were asked to put our buggies aside. We then waited a long time for someone to serve us. I asked for a menu and the waitress didn’t know what I meant. Then another waitress came and took our order. We ordered teas, baklava and water. Another five or ten mins passed. The manager came and told us that they cannot serve us dessert because we’re not paying for a meal. He refused to serve us and asked us to leave. He was not apologetic at all. Really rude staff and rubbish service overall.

Walked here for dessert after lunch at the botanic garden. Our party of 3 adults, 2 toddlers were seated in the middle of the restaurant (1 baby in pram). Staff declined us a different seat when we asked as they said it’s reserved for a party of ten although the restaurant was very quiet and plenty of seating was available. Waiter took our order of 3 kunafa and one baklava from the dessert menu. The manager came to our table after 5 minutes and said their policy is that they do not serve just dessert, and we could only order if we took it away. He had no regard for us and seemed uncaring in the slightest that we had young children with us. I don’t know if this is a new management but I recall going to Little Petra on mill Road, I was able to order 1 single kunafa and eat in. I don’t know what’s changed but their quality of service has dropped immensely and the manager was not apologetic at all, practically kicking us out, not caring that we have very young children with us. I personally was especially disappointed as I had recommended this place to my family who were with me at the time, visiting from London. I will never go here again and will certainly not be recommending it to anyone I know.

Went out for dinner last night and the food was incredible, staff there are all really lovely. I asked to swap a drink I hadn’t tried before because I just wasn’t too keen on it with my meal (it was very sweet and thick, if I’d just had it by itself I’m sure I would’ve enjoyed it) and they swapped it out for me without a problem at all. Definitely will be coming back, the variety of options is incredible and the price point is perfect.

Great great food. Portions are enormous though!! My advice is just to do a main course or lots of little plates don't do both!!

This restaurant is right around the corner from where I stayed during a brief (and unplanned) trip to Cambridge. The host recommended I check it out, and boy am I glad I paid attention. I have celiac and am intolerant of most peppers. Lots of gluten free options indicated on menu, waitress was very helpful in making a decision. I ended up getting the marinated chicken plate and scraped the dang thing clean- so incredibly delicious and filling. Flavors are excellent, it’s beautiful to look at, and I am finally full after many sad celiac travel meals 😂 Will return to Cambridge just to eat here!

Greeted us like old friends and served a meal fit for a king with excellent service, great quality and unbelievable value for money. Absolutely superb.

Exceptional in every way. A group of 16 arrived without a reservation and they found a place for us efficiently. The incredible food. Very very generous portions. Impeccable service. We had a great dinner for less than 20 pounds. When I return to Cambridge it will be a mandatory stop.

I have been here a few times- it’s always excellent. Today we took the kids and my 9 year old declared it “the best meal of his life” 😂😆👍🙌 enjoy

Had a nice meal early evening at the beginning of June. Food was lovely and decently price for Cambridge. It's a little out of the centre but worth a little trek. Was quiet which contributed to the atmosphere. Service was a little slow considering the small number of tables that were in use.

Great prices and incredibly good portions everything is fresh and delicious

Food tasted great, service was friendly but a bit slow, and had to wait for 1 dish to come out which was 10 mins later than the other mains on the table. Atmosphere was really nice, would have been better in the main restaurant as we felt a little tucked away in the corner and forgotten about.

Great food, very authentic flavours. We had two different mains. Just a little unsure how they were prepared as they were only just hot enough. Great local Jordanian wine list. Good atmosphere, simple decor that worked well. Could get a little noisy when full.

Food was good. Waiters seem to push food to be served in one go. Like mezze or starters and mains to come at the same time. They are also very busy and you can’t ask for a jug of water. Only single glasses. Somewhat aggressive tipping menu when you pay.

We waited 40 minutes for the order to arrive and dish was cold. Update: i've been to the place a dew more times and it was good - portions are huge, food delicious, waited a bit too long to be served and for water, otherwise all was good.

Dining Club Meal-Friday 19 July 2024 Our latest Dining Club Meal was hosted by the Father and daughter in our club, and the hosts arrived at the restaurant first, followed by the guests( ourselves, my sister and myself) and we were soon seated, and a friendly waitress Sandra soon came to our table and gave us each a menu from which we ordered drinks we started with a bottle of Red Wine, Shiraz 2022, as well as glasses of water,which we drank as we were talking, Sandra came to our table and asked us if we were ready to order our starters, we said that we were, and the father ordered a plate of Hummus with garlic and flat breads, and the daughter had the same, my sister and I had two plates of Grilled Halloumi Cheese and Salad. For the Mains, the father had Lamb Shank, with potatoes and carrot, topped with mixed nuts and Pomegranate, the daughter had Grilled King Prawns, in garlic, coriander and lemon with rice, and my sister and I had a Mixed Grill each, which consisted of one chicken kofta, one lamb kofta, one shish taouk, and one set of lamb cubes with egg and flour. I have one observation, that is, that the father ordered a second bottle of wine, which was bought to the table already opened, if the restaurant has a sommelier or Master of Wine, they should bring the bottle to the table, and open it in front of the customer. For Dessert, the father had Malhalabia, which is a sweet milk pudding topped with cinnamon, the daughter had an Oreo Milkshake, and my sister and I had four pieces of Baklava. Overall the restaurant was very good, and while we were there, it was full of diners, and the service from the waiting staff was very good. Recommended.

We’ve been here a few times over the last 6 months and it has now become my favourite restaurant in Cambridge! The food is just delicious, really well cooked and the portions are just huge! I can never finish my plate but the staff are always really helpful and allow you to take it home. It’s great value for money and well worth a visit! 10/10

Amazing lunch today; so much food we have had to take some home and we thought we hadn't over ordered! Hummus and falafel came with lovely bread and the prawn main course was amazing - delicious, the rice was fab - I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant - by far better than ones in the centre of Cambridge - I will repeat this visit often 🙂

I purposely walked here around 3 p.m. despite the hot weather, because I had good memories of Middle Eastern food. However, the waiter said that all the seats were reserved, even though there was no one else except for the table right in front of the counter. I didn’t want to sit there, but I had no choice. I didn’t feel good about it. Maybe because it was after lunchtime, the staff seemed unfriendly. With the cold air from the air conditioner blowing on me, I had to eat in front of the counter. I don’t want to visit here again!

Our AirBnB host mentioned that this place was really good and was locally owned. Remember, it is so very important to eat local when in tourist areas like this... rents are going up all over the world, and the independent spots are getting screwed in the process. I know how easy it could be to stop at a familiar fast food location, but please recall that you can get that stuff back home! We stopped in without a reservation, and we're able to get a table for 2 in less than 5 minutes. Honestly, it's not surprising that so many people are transitioning to a Mediterranean diet like this location offers. The portions were large, almost like being back home in California, and everything was super fresh. I ate a lot, but didn't feel too weighed down by the meal. The Traditional Tea was really good, and I'm not usually a tea drinker. Had the mixed Shwarma and some garlic Hummus, which were both fantastic. My wife had a grilled chicken plate, which was also fantastic. Also, if you drink beer, the Beirut Pilsner is very good... I would absolutely suggest this place if you are I the area, but definitely remember to make a reservation. Just to be as transparent as possible, I do think the pita bread needs a bit of work. It could be better, but it was definitely good enough to use as a Hummus transport vessel.

Very good food. I enjoyed the lamb moussaka a lot and the lamb shank was also standout. Bread and pickles on the side complimentary is to be expected but still a nice touch, and the mixed mezze platter was also good. Deserts were also a particular highlight, as well as the coffee

Food was alright could be more flavour reminds me turkish dishes. But staff .... absolutely doesn't care about customers maybe they get plenty of them. Very rude and not helpful at all. You can stand by the door ages they gonna ignore you. Ones asked which sweats are they over the counter get reply oh you not gonna know anyway. Wow that's the reason I'm asking you no? Got take away good choice doesn't stay to dine in. Poor poor poor service.

Are at Little Petra last night - when would I ever get to eat Jordanian food otherwise? The portions are overly HUGE, and while I love my carbs, a dish with chickpeas, potatoes and rice proved to be beyond me. Had to walk home the long way to move the stodge on through the system and have any chance of a night’s sleep. There were heaps of people eating in Little Petra but the attraction was lost on us.
