Our regular Saturday visit to our favourite Café in Lincoln City, there’s always a pleasant welcome from every member of staff. I guess we do tend to order our favourite snacks and on occasions we try the speciality of the day depends on our mood and appetite, today we chose the chicken and sweet corn noodle soup accompanied with the usual slices of bread, butter and croutons. I enjoy a pot of tea as always and manage to enjoy two cups to quench my thirst, good value. My wife in fact was the instigator for us both to choose the same soup she naturally enjoys brown bread compared to my white and her drink of choice being black coffee. The service is so friendly and the seating is ideal away from the hustle and bustle of the high street. We would recommend this establishment for the friendly service all at reasonable costs as well as the pleasant atmosphere just of the main High street down Guild Hall street.

Decided to try this little quaint cafe and I was left a little disappointed. While the service was great, with very polite and attentive staff, the food I ordered wasn’t amazing. My friend had a sandwich which seemed nice and he enjoyed that, our drinks were also quite nice, but the bacon bap I had...I had one bite and even that was too much of it. The bacon may as well have been jerky. It was as if it has been cooked earlier and microwaved...but microwaved for far too long and made it tough. Didn’t enjoy my food in the slightest.

I called in for the first time today, looking for a convenient place for lunch while visiting nearby council offices. The service was quck and friendly, and the choice of sandwiches a little different from the mainstream (I went for a hallumi, avocado and chili). It's a no frills cafe, but clean, bright and with a pleasant atmisphere. Just what I was looking for.

I went to the cafe in the morning around 10:30 for a table of 8. There are only one lady working behind the counter with her arm in a sling. We did wait for a bit for our drinks and food but it's a reasonable waiting time despite the understaff front of house. She was the one who serve us all the food, we do have to help her and put the plate on the table but we wasn't bothered by it. She had someone to help her out later on the day. The important part is that we all had. Very good breakfast. We had the full/half traditional breakfast, toast with jam, teas and juice. The decoration is really good and relaxing too. They were really nice and let us move the chairs to fit 8 people at a 6 people table.

I came in this morning with my partner to have a breakfast and was shocked to see a women working on her own with her arm in a sling and struggling to do the simplest of tasks. We was the only ones in at this point and we was waiting for some time. Our toast got bought out to us way before our breakfasts was ready. My toast was inedible to say the least, she bought our drinks over which spilt on the table and decided to mop it up with my partners tissue and then throw it back on our table. The sausages tasted very cheap and the bacon was like carboard. I also witnessed the lady getting the sausages (without gloves) and putting them on the baking tray&then without washing her hands which I was horrified to see, she then contiued making drinks and touching other food which is a massive risk of cross contamination. We was very shocked as we visited a couple of times earlier on in the week and it was quiet pleasant, the bacon and egg baps were really good and the lady (different to the one we had today) was very friendly and looked like she had the know how of what she was doing!

Ordered a delivery for lunch. Sadly the order was extremely poor for a very simple order. Tuna sandwich on granary and halloumi fries. Expected a lot more for a £4.50 tuna sandwich - the sandwich was mainly mayonnaise and bread wasn’t the best. Halloumi fries were greasy with thick clogged flour or batter - a sweet chilli sauce had been added in a pot with cling film on it, this had exploded all over the bag.

Have walked past this place so many times and never gone in. Today we saw the sign outside advertising a sandwich with salad, plus cake and drink for £5. Also small breakfast and drink for £4 so thought we would give it a try. I had a cheese and onion sandwich which came with salad and coleslaw, followed by a large slice of Victoria Sponge with a Latte. My wife chose the small breakfast with a Latte. It was all delicious and such good value, all for £9. This must be the best value place in Lincoln. Charisma who served us was very friendly and welcomed us with a smile. Another reviewer mentioned flickering fluorescent tube lighting, and the place looking grubby. Charisma mentioned that a few weeks ago the lighting was changed, and on our visit the place looked nice, clean and airy, including the toilets.

Called in for lunch 29 December. Ordered ham, egg & chips (not too bad) and a butternut squash soup with bread. Was given two huge slices of bread and had to ask for extra butter as was only given one tiny packet! Quite a few florescent tubes out and/or flickering. Would have been a nightmare for anyone suffering from epilepsy or migraines. The whole café had a grubby, unloved feel about it and the toilet was not very clean either. I've visited this place a couple of times now to watch their comedy nights. Small and welcoming, they squeeze in an audience about 20-30 to watch a lineup of local talent. You never know what you're going to get - some are hysterical, some still finding their feet. There's always been somebody that made it worth going though. Admission for these evenings includes a small portion of curry, and there is always a tasty selection of cakes you can purchase to top up if you're still hungry. Limited selection of bottled beers and wines is also available to purchase at these evenings.

As a newcomer to Lincoln, I have enjoyed trying a new restaurant or cafe when out and about. Based on the excellent rating I had seen on this site, I decided to walk home one morning by way of the Little Lincoln Cafe for a bite of lunch. The roasted vegetable soup was delicious and tasted homemade. The tuna melt toastie was pretty average but tasty enough. It came with crisps (very small handful of tortilla chips) and "homemade" coleslaw, which was dry and tasted like it was factory pre-made out of a bag. Coleslaw is a fave of mine, I know my slaws -- this did not taste homemade. The breakfast menu looked really good and seemed to be the best value. Maybe sometime I'll stop back in and try breakfast or a sweet. He staff was friendly, place was clean. There are some very nice photographs of Lincoln sites on the walls, all marked for sale. That's worth a look.
