Little Italy in Trafford

Fab evening spent in Little Italy. The restaurant has a wonderful ambience, with lovely atmosphere. The restaurant service is first class, proving a good selection of wine gorgeous food and excellent service.

2 couples visited, and the fillet steak was probably the best steak I've had anywhere period. The starters were excellent too. The lady staff who served us was very friendly and at tentative. For 2 of us it was our first time visit. We will certainly return.

Had a lovely meal last week, the food was excellent especially the mushroom starter!! The service was excellent and the staff were very attentive. Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants a lovely evening with delicious food!

Not impressed. Needs an overhaul. Very cool, everyone was eating with their coats on. Very courteous girl who took the order Garlic bread was below average pizza base with no garlic. Better garlic bread in Iceland across the road. Cold starter/ main plates. It took a while for the mains to be delivered (not busy) Portions were small. Steak pasta dish was spot the meat. Nobody asked how the meals were.... After 40+ years of wondering what it was really like, I should of stayed away.

Many thanks to Kayleigh and her team at Little Italy restaurant in Timperley Village. They did us proud for a very special anniversary. They catered for 35 family and friends for a bespoke Saturday afternoon celebration. The food was fantastic and hot so compliments to the chefs. The staff were all very friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The ambience was lovely and relaxed and the background music only added to the overall feeling. Everybody present really enjoyed the day. Thank you again to all the Little Italy staff who made the day both memorable and special. We will definitely be returning.

Went to Little Italy to celebrate a friends birthday. The restaurant was very busy, which is a good sign. We were promptly seated at our table and given menus straight away. The menu is extensive and we were spoilt for choice also the wine list was very good. We had a fantastic meal & fantastic wine. The staff were fabulous, very efficient considering how busy it was. What makes this restaurant is that its family run and they care about their customers unlike the big chain restaurants you get. Will definitely go back at the earliest opportunity.

This was my go to italian restaurant, for special occasions, for the last 15 years, but no more. I ordered fillet Little Italy cooked rare. It came medium (at best). When I sent it back, I was told they only had sirloin left (8.15 on a Saturday). As they could not correct their mistake, I refused any further food. I have no words to explain the disappointment I feel for my birthday meal. Sorry Sami, your restaurant is off my list!

Well what a lovely experience we had, I have not used this restaurant before and it’s so local to me ! My friend and I try to have a nice meal out once every 2 months this was such a pleasant surprise, the staff where so welcoming and showed us to our table set already for two, and asked if we would like to have a drink whilst we peruse the menu and what a menu packed with all sorts of deliciousness we decided to share a garlic bread topped with cheese, for our mains my friend had sword fish and I had sea bass we had a side of mushrooms and sautéed potatoes (see the photo) it was all so tasty, we don’t normally have a dessert but well it had to be done they had crème brûlée it was yummy, all topped of with a coffee we will definitely return and can highly recommend this restaurant

We have been coming here for man years and always enjoy the food. Cannelloni is always my favourite, made with actual pancakes. Sam is always welcoming and always has time to speak with you. Keep going Sam

Having gotten off the boat after an 8 hour trip from Belfast, my partner and I wanted something nice to kick off our trip and Little Italy was a great find on the way through to Salford.My partner had a Calzone and I had Risotto. I couldn't believe the portion sizes and genuine generosity of the prices in comparison. The dishes were beautifully presented and as great tasting as they looked.To add to the great food, the service is great and the overall appearance of the restaurant is great.The place was roamantic and perfect for couples.If I'm ever back that way again, I'll be happy to return there.

We love Little Italy!! The staff are lovely, we normally choose lots of different starters to share and then a mixture of mains. It’s always amazing. Staying overnight at Manchester Airport and found this restaurant online. We managed to get a reservation early evening on a Saturday and the restaurant was quiet when we arrived but full when we left. Had the early bird 3 course special which was very good. Very friendly staff and thanks to our waitress, apologies I didn’t get your name, for enlightening us on Timperley’s famous resident, Frank Sidebottom, and we had a walk up the main street to see his statue.

We had a couple of starters and 2 pasta main courses...it wasn’t terrible but was just really average...like something you cook at home but not what you expect from a small independent Italian restaurant.

We were four friends looking for a good meal in Manchester UK. We were advised to visit this restaurant in Timperley, Manchester. We were greeted warmly by the female staff and then seated at the corner of this cosy, homely, beatiful restaurant. We ordered beer and asked for the wine-list which was very impressive with a variety of nice wine plus reasonable prices. We were not sure what to choose for food so one of the waitresses called the owner himself from the kitchen who is also the head-chef. He was extremely helpful and very cordial. We started with bruschetta, garlic bread and chicken liver. Then we had a good plate of pasta (super) and ended the 3-course meal with a fantastic plate of fillet steak, rib-eye steak and Diane's fillet. Super food all the way including veg and potato fries. Then we had desert and chose cassatella, tirami-su, apple pie and ice-creams. Since we stayed late, maybe until 11.00pm and apologised to the fantastic staff to keep them there, we asked them to call us a taxi but something went wrong and to finish in a good unforgettable evening/night, the owner himself offered to take us back to the hotel with his own car. Where in the whole world you will find a super service like this. Thanks Mr. Sammy and your wonderful staff including your son.

we are so lucky that this restaurant is so nice because it’s close by so it means we can go as often as we like knowing we will get an amazing meal with fantastic service. We tried something off the specials menu and we weren’t disappointed. So fresh and tasty! Even though they were super busy we were still served in good time and with the added bonus of a great atmosphere! Thanks again! Look forward to next time.

We tried to go to this restaurant yesterday, we entered at 2030 hrs after checking the closing times on the door first. We were approached by a very rude male whom I believe is the owner saying “ we’re closed we’re closed”.

We went with our son and daughter in law. They live locally and hadn’t been to the restaurant for some time. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Served us with drinks quickly and left us to choose our meal. We had the chicken livers as a starter to share and it was super. Very tasty and a perfect portion size for two. Our son chose the prawns in garlic sauce and the prawns were certainly large and succulent. I chose the sea bass on mash potato and it was one of the nicest main courses I’ve ever had. Simply perfect. Other family members had pork, chicken and the meatballs. We had a bottle of the house red which was very mellow and to be recommended. A lovely evening indeed. We will be back!

We are not from the area but have eaten at Little Italy twice when flying from Manchester. It really is quite excellent. The food is 1st class and portions large. Excellent spaghetti bolognaise and sea bass. Busy on a wet Sunday evening-that tells you all you need to know.

We visited as a family last night, food is amazing, pizza is as good as in Italy if not better, lasagne is tasty and lots of it, steak Diane dish was to die for, the owner and staff are very welcoming and attention to detail is second to none, the ambiance was lovely too, we can’t wait to go back!!

Sea food dishes in this establishment CLAIM to be Fresh however the Fish is FROZEN from Bought from Thailand. Chefs are Drug users. Tips aren’t given to staff. Shambles !!!

We had a meal with friends to celebrate a birthday. The restaurant is small so there were two sittings. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The food was delicious. We would definitely return. We were able to park outside the restaurant but there are car parking near by.

I took my mum and rest of my family here for a Saturday night meal. The place was busy in a good way and had a good atmosphere. The main hostess was really excellent and was attentive as she could be considering the fact that the place was fully booked. Unfortunately, her only help was a sour faced young girl who at one point virtually threw a bowl of Parmesan cheese at my aging mum to apparently had to do this job herself. When the food arrived, our only gripe was the cold plates; the food itself was piping hot and seemed very fresh so this criticism can be seen as minimal and seemed to bother my guests more than it did me! I would definitely recommend this restaurant, in the heart of Timperley!

The food is authentic Italian and all made from scratch. We felt very welcome and had great service. We all enjoyed our meals and although the staff made a fuss of us it was effortless and friendly. Great value for money and we will definitely be going back.

Went on the recommendation of a friend with my partner and daughters and had a great night. Food was cracking, the girls loved their pizzas/pastas and my risotto was top notch. We all thoroughly enjoyed it and will hopefully visit again soon.

Everytime we come to Manchester, we visit the best Restaurant in Timperley Village, Little Italy. Always satisfied, excellent food, best service, staff so friendly, especially the owner Sammy Cauchi and great value for money. I recommend this restaurant when visiting Manchester.

My family and I frequent Little Italy and are always impressed by the great food, authentic atmosphere and attentive staff. Pizzas are thin and crispy and pasta is always flavoursome. Definitely recommend for those looking for a quaint family friendly restaurant.

I was looking forward to my 'chef's home-made chicken liver pate' but was served a slab of pink obviously shop bought excuse for pate. When I queried this the waitress was adamant it was home-made because it was smooth!!! and she loved it!! Definitely shop bought by the colour, horrible sour taste, speckled black edge and shape. I make my own pate so I know what it should taste like and look. The main course was ok but nothing to rave about. Very disappointing.

You are guaranteed a friendly welcome whatever size your group is. The food is always good and the owners are present in the restaurant to check that everyone is happy. If you can't finish your meal the staff will put it in a container for you to take home. Take aways are also available though I have't tried these yet. A lovely place to take the family!

Little Italy has to be one of our favourite places to eat. They’ve had a little change around on the menu which is good and I chose a starter of baby prawns in a spicy tomato sauce which was lovely and duck with spring onions and wild mushrooms in a creamy sauce served with linguine. Both of these are new dishes and I would definitely recommend. Large bottle of house wine very good value for money too. Once again a lovely meal, thank you.

My husband arranged for close family and friends to join us for a meal to celebrate my 65th birthday. There were 4 kiddies under 8 with us too. All the meals had been preordered in order to facilitate prompt service. The staff greeted us on arrival, a drinks order was taken and once the surprise guests had all arrived food service commenced. For a small restaurant the service was excellent and well executed, staff were continually checking everything was ok for us all and despite having other groups in they did us proud. Food was hot where it needed to be, it was freshly prepared, but what I was particularly impressed with was the meals for the children were just the right temperature that they could eat it without burning themselves. I can’t recommend Little Italy highly enough, we’ve not been for sometime yet the proprietor made us all very welcome along with his staff. Thank you Little Italy.

Rustic Italian food served in a relaxed atmosphere with friendly service. We loved it. We had 3 courses with no complaints at all. Would recommend.

Me my partner and my two children went Sunday at 4:00 the food was amazing as was the warm friendly service we received from the owner. Could not do enough for us, both my children enjoyed the food also. We will return without question.

Little Italy is a great Italian restaurant in the heart of Timperley village. An extensive menu is always complemented by a choice of "specials". The staff are always pleased to see you and create a welcoming ambience that adds to the special atmosphere. The owner always takes the time to come out of his kitchen and greet everyone and check that all is well with the meal, it always is! I would strongly recommend the restart to anyone who enjoys an Italian style meal. The house red wine is another winner!

I love this place. We decided, last minute, to take the kids for pizza. We popped in around 5pm and as always were greeted warmly, as we hadn't booked. The service was efficient, warm and friendly. The kids loved their pizzas, my other half had the duck linguine special - an enormous helping. I had the mushroom ravioli. My only minor complaint was my portion was small compared to the duck, and I wasn't really full. That said, Sam (the owner) always chats to his customers making sure they are happy. It's a great place and I love visiting with friends and family.

Ashamed to say that despite living in Timperley for over 20 years we’ve only eaten here twice and the last time was about 10 years ago. Today, we decided to have a takeaway and decided we’d try Little Italy. We were all pleased that we did! The food is excellent, the portions are extremely generous and the value is tremendous. The portion size of the tagliatelle prosciutto was huge and the quality is high. The calzone was bigger than the plate and tasty. £25 for 3 mains plus a side of fries shows true value for money. The takeaway menu carries a 15% discount on the main menu price list so why would anyone not want to give LI a try? Sammy Cauchi, the owner, is extremely friendly. We’d forgotten just how good Little Italy is and would highly recommend it. If you decide to eat in the restaurant you’ll be pleased. It is small and therefore homely. It’s very clean and atmospheric. We will definitely not be leaving it 10 years till our next experience!

Just simply a lovely restaurant. The host can't do enough for me and my parents, even to the extent of making his famous minestrone soup for my father when it wasn't on the menu that evening.
