Visited Little India the day it opended nearly 15years ago. Since then, I have been virtually every week which is the ultimate accolade to the food, service and hospitality. It's "home from home" where customers become friends.

As a family we have been going to Little India for many years - Abdul and Ben are so attentive and all the staff work very hard. The food is delicious and nothing is ever too much trouble. We have tried many other Indian restaurants but Little India stands out a mile. Meaning we return again and again and will continue to do so ..... Sunday buffet is a treat , good value for money and a chance to try new dishes that you may not order on a usual basis - highly recommend

We came tonight with local family and have to say the level of service was a class above what you normally get anywhere in this country! Food also excellent, absolutely nothing to fault. Really good with kids too, and really flexible to do something more palatable for the little ones Would highly recommend, this restaurant belies it’s current trip advisor ranking!

I feel really saddened to read the review prior to mine... we were in the restaurant on the same day as this lady and I can assure you the food was as fantastic as always!!! Little india is the most friendly, spotless and accommodating restaurant I have ever known! I have food sensitivities and they alter my food accordingly and despite this it is always very tasty, fresh and quite frankly perfect!! I have been dining here since this place opened and have never had a problem with the food or the staff! I witnessed this small group going up and pilling food onto their plates on several occasions so can confirm they certainly did not leave hungry. If the food was that bad would you really keep going back for more? Quite honestly I feel the previous review is nasty and extremely unfair. Yes everyone is entitled to an opinion but this is more than that. This small group of people were simply looking for discount but to then complete a false review is very dishonest and unfair for other potential customers.

I created a TripAdvisor account today specifically to warn others about this restaurant, as I didn’t want anyone else to have the same horrendous experience we did. We visited Little India on 18/11/18 to try the Sunday buffet. We’d been once before for the A La Carte menu, which we found about average. However, the buffet was the most disgusting meal of our lives. Naans were heavy, doughy and akin to thick pancakes, with no flavour whatsoever. Pilau rice was overcooked – a cardinal sin with rice. The majority of the meat dishes (chicken pakora, seekh kebab, chicken tikka masala) were doused in bright red food colouring, which had the revolting effect of making the meat look like it was dripping in its own blood. Everything was flavourless and unappetising, with the meat like dry cardboard, the vegetables overcooked and the gravy like pureed soup. Two curries had a sickening vinegary taste. I tried every dish as I wanted to give them a fair chance, but they were all awful. Some dishes were lukewarm, suggesting they had been reheated or had been sitting out for some time. We were all hungry and had been looking forward to a good meal, so were naturally upset and disappointed. We complained to the staff member at the desk on our way out, who was dismissive and emphatically refused to give us a discount on the bill or a voucher for a future visit, telling us flatly, “The buffet dishes are aimed at the European palate.” The waiter had made the same comment to us when we mentioned our disappointment to him. He succeeded in getting the money he was so desperate to get out of us, but lost something far more valuable – a customer. When people come to your restaurant for a return visit, they clearly have a favourable opinion of you and are not coming to critique. Give them a good meal and they will praise you to the skies, tell everyone about you and keep coming back. Give them a sub-standard meal and refuse to redeem the situation in any way, and you can guarantee they will leave feeling cheated and tell everyone they know to stay far away! How anyone is able to eat such rubbish and pay £9.50 per person for the privilege of doing so is beyond me. It is clearly a way to make a quick buck at the expense of the unsuspecting customer. That they do not care about their customers is further illustrated by the owner’s juvenile replies to people who left 1 star reviews - “We are worried about your tastebuds” and “Please do not visit again, we insist you spend your money elsewhere” etc. We left feeling robbed of our hard-earned money and with a bad taste in our mouths – literally and figuratively, as I could still feel those dry blood-red chunks of chicken sitting in my throat. This restaurant is an insult to Arnesby, to Indian cuisine and the tastebuds of anyone unfortunate enough to eat here. Don’t waste your time and money here – you can get delicious, authentic Indian food in Leicester at a fraction of the price in the Golden Mile, Granby St etc.

We have been coming to Little India for years and found it to be consistently good. Food is tasty, hot and well presented. Service is brilliant and we love Abdul; all staff are brilliant and attentive. Service is second to none. It’s our restaurant of choice - keep up the good work. We’ll keep coming back.

First visited two months ago, local paper gave voucher for buy one get one free on main courses, party of 4. Food was excellent, voucher honoured, even on a busy Friday evening. We returned as a couple last night, no voucher. Food was again excellent, starter main courses, hot plates, good service, clean, attentive staff without being intrusive. We will return.

First came here many years ago and never had a bad meal. After a few years of going elsewhere owing to a house move, we've paid a couple of return trips recently and have found it as excellent as ever. Friendly, attentive staff, nice surroundings and excellent food. Along with Dine India at Countesthorpe, probably the best Indian in South Leicestershire. Well worth a visit.

Have had two takeaways from here in the past month. The menu is fantastic and the variety is great.Possibly slightly more expensive than others in the area. The food we received was excellent, probably the best takeaway I have had in Leicester. The only disappointment was that they had forgot to put any chutneys or sauces in for the poppadoms and we had been charged for them. This wouldn't put me off ordering again but it was a little disappointing.

Given the chice of where to go, he always choses this place as the food and wine is always spot on and you might even get to talk to a tiger or 2 who also seem to enjoy the place. Easy dining, no rush, great.

I came here on a first date a sunday afternoon, we were shown to a table. Waiters kept staring over at us throughout. It was a buffet style affair, eat as much as you want, but the choice of foods were limited. I was very disappointed as, been here alot in the past with family. It was cold in the restaurant as well and food seemed watered down and lacked spice. I chose this place, as before had been ok. Dissapointed.

I have just enjoyed a really top-notch curry at this wonderful restaurant. The menu was full of mouthwatering suggestions including many new dishes I did not know. The old favourites were there in abundance. The food arrived impressively quickly (unlike most Indian restaurants I have visited) and it all tasted great. Shame I live so far away - I'd be a regular visitor otherwise!

We have had several meals from here, we use it for special occasions as the costs are high, we ordered a meal for six of us but we were all quite disappointed in the quality since the last time we had been, We had booked to collect for a specific time but the meal was not ready for an additional 15 mins either, we felt pressured towards having to buy drinks while we waited but did not as we felt this was the reasoning behind the delay and there was no apology for the delays either.

Not been here for a while but have now been twice in the last three weeks! We live in a nearby village and having commented to friends about how much we enjoyed the food at Little India I was pleasantly surprised about how highly it is regarded locally. The conversion from a country pub took place many years ago and while the decor is perfectly acceptable its the food that is the attraction. The customer service is very good and they were happy to "tweak" dishes for our particular tastes.

Went there early one evening- -very quiet at that time and had set menu. All very good, and with a couple of beers, starter and main course, only £20 per head, smashing value for perfectly good Indian food and service.

Haven't been here for a while but pleased to find the standards haven't dropped. Ben and Abdul continue to provide an excellent service by ensuring the waiters are polite, knowledgable and prepared to make your evening. The menu offers a wide selection for all tastes whether you prefer the creamy type or the spine tingling blow your head off variety !!If there's a particular choice you fancy trying, but you feel it may be too spicy hot, ask them to cool it down. They'll remove the green chillies but keep the flavour. There's also a wide choice for veggies. If you decide to to order popadoms & pickle tray, starter, main, side dish, rice and Nan........you ain't going to be able to walk to your car and you will be requiring a doggie bag !!.......the portion sizes are generous !!My partner and I tend to stick with popadoms & pickle tray, mains, rice but share a nan bread. The cost of that is in the region of £25 to £30. Add a couple of drinks each ant the total bill will be approx £40 to £50.If you haven't been here before, give it a go. if its not to your taste, don't return.....simples...... It is located out of the way somewhat, but it's a nice drive into the countryside and treat yourselves to somewhere different.

Cannot fault the food and the restaurant is very popular and can be very busy too. One the evening visited, there was a large birthday party which was extremely loud. Can't fault the restaurent but
