Sunargow Tandoori in Harborough

Cannot fault the food and the restaurant is very popular and can be very busy too. One the evening visited, there was a large birthday party which was extremely loud. Can't fault the restaurent but just be aware, if you want a quiet romantic evening, particularly on a Friday or Saturday then this may not suit. The restaurant also caters for takeaway too (but you have to collect), to be fair the kitchen was extremely busy but efficient for both dining and takeaway. Would definitely use again.

Service was discreet and food arrived quickly, Panner was cooked perfectly and the Prawn biryani full of flavour.

Best Indian around , the staff are very polite and the food is INCREDIBLE! i highly recommend if your looking for flavourful food and a relaxing setting.

Sun-thursday they do a nice banquet offer 5 courses. Welcoming staff and the food is great quality and delicious. I had chicken tikka starter and butter chicken main. Very nice.

We tried this for the first time on a double date. It was sooooo delicious. Best curry house I've been to in a long time and wi be our new "go to" place. I had a lamb malayan, keema rice with a starter of poppadoms and chutneys. Parking is restricted so walk if possible. It's upstairs so a bit difficult for those who cannot do stairs (quite narrow)

This was one of the best Indian meals I have ever had, the portions were very generous , staff were excellent, looking forward to going back would highly recommend

First time using tonight and not impressed sadly. Meal Ready on collection...Good start. Should have checked the order was complete before going home. On sitting down to eat, no Mint Sauce or Salad provided for the two starters which were tasty. No Rice for the mains!! Not impressed with the quality of meat in the Mud Masala, dry and very overcooked. Lamb Tikka Masala incredibly sweet and sickly. Phoned to inform the Restaurant about the missing items, was asked if they could sort it out next time! Very disppointed. For Takeaway check your order is complete before leaving. Overall not good and overpriced for what we had.

We needed that! Our first family meal cooked for us during the lockdown. All good (2 courses) with pick up as organised. Well done Sunargow.

Me and my partner have visited Sunargow several times since moving to the village last year, for both a takeaway and to also eat in. We always receive the best service; they are very friendly and will do anything to make your experience enjoyable. The food is delicious and they are more than happy to make any dish the way you like it! We love it and look forward to going many more times!

Takeaway. Friendly staff and good food. Would definitely use again for takeaway and hopefully also visit for a sit down meal. Do not do a delivery service which is a shame as Chinese in same village does - would be happy to pay a few quid for delivery (like chinese) if it was an option.

We visited last night with two friends who hadn’t been before, we visit regularly. From the warm welcome to leaving we received excellent service, the guys are so engaging and friendly. The food, as always, was delicious. If you haven’t been then I strongly recommend going, you will not be disappointed

This is our local curry house and we use it regularly, usually for the special menu in the week. Good value and always good food. The service can be slow if it’s busy - but that’s the only negative!

Ordered food to takeaway at around 6:30 on a Saturday, was ready to collect as we walked in! Food was still hot when we got home and order was spot on! Chicken Dhansak, Prawn Pathia (extremely tasty), lamb pasanda, pilau rice and peshwari naan. Could not fault anything! May be worth asking for the Dhansak spicier if you like the heat. All very decently priced. Will definitely return

Couldn't be bothered to cook, fancied a curry so decided to order a takeaway from the Sunargow. Nothing too fancy, prawn pathia, chicken dhansak and a lamb pasanda, rice and nan. Ordered it for 6:30, it was ready for us as we walked in. All the dishes were very tasty and all obviously different, very good indeed £30 the lot.

Went there tonight. There was 4 of us . Really good food but not service . 3 of us were left waiting for our starters whilst the other 1 had theirs first . Kept waiting rather a long time for main dish . Lovely food but would not use again !

Best Indian food just wish they delivered.

Used to use often but last 1-2 years it’s gone awful, get charged over what you order and curries aren’t good. No flavour and all taste very similar no matter what you order.

Just moved to the village and thought I’d try this restaurant with my daughter. Saturday night and it was so busy. We waited a long time for our food as there were many take aways being collected. However, the food was delicious so when my cousin came over from NZ we thought we would try it again. This time we went on a Monday night. As expected it was very quiet. Food was excellent and great value. Staff really looked after us. Will certainly use again but maybe not on a Saturday night.

Did not have a good experience found the staff very rude there was poo all up the walls in the loo and as we were leaving there was a rat running across the car park in to where the back kitchen is not nice

The welcome starts off this great experience, always feel at home and made to feel valued, food is amazing and don’t go anywhere else as I know it won’t compare

I eat indian food at least once a week 52 weeks a year. Its always good to try a new restaurant but not often we find one as good as our local back in Bathgate Scotland. The Sunargow did not disappoint though! Every dish was outstanding and delicious and we would love to eat in the restaurant itself next time - the staff were very professional and it looked very pleasant. Really looking forward to coming back!

We hadn’t been here for 3 years following a bad hygiene review, this has since improved hugely.

Have eaten here on numerous occasions, Milan and his staff are all friendly and helpful. Food is of the highest standard and they have a very comprehensive menu. Weekday set meals are excellent value. Would recommend it to anyone.

Best curry restaurant I have been to!

Popped I for a quick curry with the misses great friendly staff disappointed in food main course lamb bhuna a bit tough . don't drop the quality increase your prices very hot inside with warm air heating .not been for a few years could do with a makeover in restaurant beer prices expensive at £4/50 a pint

I've had a lot of food at Sunargow and it has gone down a little in the past, I must admit after our last visit it seems to be on the up again, I would give it 3 and a half stars but you can't so it's a 3.

I have always had a good curry here in th 20+ years of visiting. Can be a bit cramped when busy - normally very cosy, only dread if get sat next to a family with kids. Whilst some decoration has been taking place it does have a dated but quaint feel which adds to the ambience.

Recently visited sunargow to have one of their Monday to Thurs less than £10 4 course deal to find they have raised the price to £10.99 and took the coffee or ice-cream off the deal how can they class this deal has 4 course you get 1poppadom a starter and depending on what main you have a rice or naan you have to pay extra for these if your main has a salad and is classed as a dry dish so 3 course at best a rice and naan bread don't count as a course they are part of the main.Also I have visited many times and the quality is usually good but this time the meat was not of good quality.also we didn't get the shots at the end of the meal these have gone as well. sort it out

Llevar también es genial, junto con la calidad de la carne. Puede ser bastante ruidoso, ya que una habitación grande, pero agrega a la atmósfera. Para notar, pero se necesita tener acceso a un tramo de escaleras, así que menos movilidad lucha.

We've been to the Sunagow a few times for sit down and takeaways, the food has always been good.6 of us went Friday night we all had different dishes and they were all spot on, very tasty indeed.6 currys and drinks for £65 pounds.Best curry house around.

Came here on a Friday night with a group of friends and we all thought it was supurb.We came from Leicester due to the high recommendations from friends and they were right on every aspect. The service was excellent, very attentive and helpful with the menu and general queries.The food was outstanding. I had the Sunargow special, which was a mixture s in a delicious sauce. We tried the vegaterian kofta (fabulous), chicken vindaloo and the own version of butter chicken with no peanuts.I'm definitely coming back again, it's well worth the tip out from Leicester due to the high standards the Sunargow sets with it's delicious food.

Will not go anywhere else for a curry these days after finding this little gem. They do a meal deal in the week which is great. I always find the food to be cooked to perfection and there is lots of choice on the menu. Milan and his team are very good at what they do and if anything is going wrong he's sure to be there to help sort the situation out. I can most definitely recommend the the Chicken Tikka Pathia... You have to taste it to believe how good it is!

Sorry this has to be said, we have been coming to this restaurant 20 years and last night was our worst visit, cold naan breads and the wrong main course prepared. The service and attention to detail was poor.It was Monday night and not very busy. You cannot go on reputation alone, you are only as good as your last meal

Always a good takeaway, and very friendly staff.However the restaurant can get a little crowded on busy nights.

I had a takeaway from here a few weeks ago (I think I chose Massala) and it was really lovely and creamy. Nice and hot (temperature) and the rice was just right. Good value for money but the wait time was a little bit long - I think it was an hour and we were collecting.

We have been going here for years. Have tried other Tandoori restaurants around the country, but nothing has beaten the food here.

My running club the Squirrels had their Christmas meal at the Sunargow and I really enjoyed it. The staff are extremely courteous and they coped really well with the large number of people. Furthermore the meal was very nice. I had prawn kurma and peshwari naan. Good value for money too.

Whether eat-in or takeaway the food here has always been excellent in my opinion. Portion sizes are generous, service is really friendly and pricing is reasonable.The restaurant can get cramped when busy and wait times can be slightly long but nevertheless it is still our go-to Indian restaurant

Friendly service excellent food & the best lamb madras EVER.

This Indian Restaurant sells great food and the Naan bread is fantastic. Food can be eaten in the restaurant or taken away and the prices are fair. The curry's are not floating in oil like some other restaurants which is a relief, only criticism sometime the service is a little slow.

Service and food are great. Portion sizes are generous and the prices are reasonable. All in all a lovely evening.

we have been eating here on a regular basis for 3 years. It is simple outstanding food and friendly service at a very reasonable price. The quality of the chicken is excellent, large chunky pieces of real chicken, perfectly cooked. Love the house special sizzler, just can't eat it all so end up taking the chicken breast home, makes great sandwiches the next day.

The service remains good; friendly and attentive but not obtrusive. The food is also still among the best in the area.

We love Indian food and are new to this area so were keen to find a good Indian restaurant locally, now we have !! Great menu, good atmosphere, lovely staff very helpful and good value for money, we look forward to working our way through their varied menu.

We love indian food and have tried many restaurants but since discovering her we don't go anywhere else. We eat here here normally once a week.The service is always very good. The food is simply outstanding, we tend to stick to chicken dishes, it is always stunning, cooked perfectly and always tender and soft.The banquet meal they serve from Sunday to Thursday is outstanding valueThe home style curries are so very tasty.Nothing is too much trouble.Couldn't recommend it highly enough

We heard a lot of good reviews about this restaurant so we thought we would give it a try. Although we didn't have a bad meal it was very average. Also the room was a little cramped and the staff were not very friendly. Will not be returning.

We ate here on Friday 11th Oct, the restaurant was recommended to us by a friend.The owner(?) Raj was most helpful, and suggested we try his 'invention' which he had produced the day before.The meal was very pleasant, and I would certainly use it again when in the area.

Me and my wife have been going 3 or 4 times a year since we moved here( 15 yrs, the rain forest decoration was particularly memorable) Although the staff may have changed a few times in that period the service is always friendly and swift and they remember your name. I'd avoid the table next to the takeaway waiting area as it can be a little annoying having people listening to your conversation and one time even joining in. I don't ever recall having a bad meal and the price is comparable to what you'd pay in similar places. Sundays to Thursdays they have a value menu which is the same size and quality as weekends. I'd recommend it.

My family and I have been going to Sunargow for over 10 years now and we are always blown away by the food. It really does have a "homemade" quality to it, as if the recipe has been in their family for generations unlike some Indian restaurants which can taste almost processed as if its from a jar!The staff are so friendly and welcoming every single time and always go out of their way to make your evening special.Sure, the restaurant itself is a little small (being just one room above a gym) but I prefer to think of it as cosy! My husband and I love Indian food and have tried so many different restaurants in the area but will continue to return here as the food is just delicious and the staff make us feel like old friends.

I have used sunar gow for meals and take always for many years and have always been satisfied with their food and service. If I'm after an Indian meal this is the first choice locally.

The Sunar Gow is by far the best Indian restaurant in the area and it will shortly be celebrating its 21st Birthday. You are always assured of a warm welcome and there is a wide selection of food at reasonable prices including several unusual but tasty house specials - I recommend the Shatkora if you fancy something different

We were really well looked after and enjoyed the food. It was my mother's first visit and she was very impressed and would return.

After many visits over many years, this is the best Indian in the county. Eat-in or takeaway, the food is always excellent and the service very personal and considerate. Always happy to advise and flexible on any variation requested.
