We try to visit the Little Green Van whenever we visit Portobello to walk along the beach with our dog. Great coffee (offers several options of non dairy milk) and always a great selection of cakes. Opted for the vegan carrot cake which was delicious. Expect to queue, but worth it. They offer dog biscuits and cushions for using for sitting on the prom wall.

A wonderful weekend addition to Portobello prom! I visit often to collect coffee and, sometimes, their delicious gluten-free brownie. I’ve never heard a bad word about the Green Van - it’s a real favourite with locals and visitors alike.

there's often a queue, which is no hardship given the view you have of the beach and fife. A regular fixture o n the prom. Lovely coffee.

The van is cool and the coffee is good. In compostable cups too. Also sausage rolls, filled croissants and tray baked. Brilliant!

We remember them vividly from our trip years ago 2015… We just stumbled upon them walking by the seaside… As foreigners we were surprised by how good coffee was compared to other places in UK that we considered unworthy of being called coffee shops … This was The Coffee… Scones were equally good so please do visit now as everything opens up, support local business… Greetings from far away, all the best and who knows maybe we will stumble upon you again…

Great snacks..Very tasty sausage roll and nice tray bakes..Coffee was nice but needs to be a bit hotter. Friendly service, prices ok. Owner has lots of green seat pads which you can borrow to sit on the prom wall to enjoy your coffee which is a lovely touch.

Have stopped here often for a coffee when walking along the prom. Have noticed on several occasions once froth has settled that coffee is at least an inch from the top. Today our coffee was lukewarm and only three quarters full. Really disappointing and not worth £2.70. Will walk a bit further next time to get a full cup.

I visited Portobello for a walk and was pleased to see that the little green van is still in situ. It seems to sell so much delicious food from such a small space! I was however disappointed at the quality of the coffee which was bitter and burnt.

It’s great to be able to have a post swim coffee at the little green van; today I had a vege sausage roll & it was totally delicious! Make sure you don’t miss out the next time you’re on the prom...

The coffee is just amazing. You can also get here great cakes, croissants, fantastic icecream. The best hot chocolate I've had. Also great service. An essential stop on the promenade. I highly recommend.

Perfect even if a little noisy but at the same time, we are in Scotland 🤷♀️😉

Good range of products and helpful staff. Evelin gave us good advice on choosing hiking boots, she was patient and knowledgeable. Thank you!

Great pastries but slightly overpriced and filling/pastry ratio getting smaller each time

I returned to the bakery after some time as it used to be excellent. I am sad and disappointed to say the quality was anything but today. The produce was dry, and tasteless. I also witnessed another customer returning their purchase that was also stale. £16.50 for something that is now in the bin is disappointing for a place I once thought was excellent. On the bright side the staff were lovely. It was a carrot cake that was dry and clearly several days old. The other cake was also dried out, and bland, not what you expect at £5.50 for a small slice.

I love the mood and the drinks here. The staff is very friendly. All excellent. Will definitely come back when in Edinburgh.
