This chippy has just recently changed owners & also changed its name to “Traditional Fish & Chips” but the chips served to me won’t fully cooked? Also the fish batter had no taste & they’ve put the prices up! I was a regular customer who used to enjoy the previous owners food but these new people have no idea how to cook “traditional fish & chips” so i’ll definitely NEVER go again & take my valued custom elsewhere!!!

I kept meaning to review this fish n chip shop... Fish cooked to order, so also fresh and hot. Chips are very good too. Always great fish n chips.... The couple who run the place, are friendly and they aim to please... It's my local chip shop now. Curry sauce and the mushy peas are how I like them. Good value too, as some other fish n chip shops are well over priced.

I passed this little gem of a place on my way home from work. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is absolutely delicious . My fish was made to order and it is the best i have ever tasted .The chips were also delicious . My partner had chips and gravy also wonderful and fresh . This is the best chippy i have been to in all my years and now intend to be a regular visitor after my busy nursing shift. I highly recommend this outstanding little place .

Just called in on 23.3.18 by chance and was so surprised Best fish and chips we have had for a long time, cooked to order in beef dripping yum yum, really friendly service and cheap, two fish and chips with curry sauce for under a tenner ??? Fish skinless, fresh, and batter just right Will definitely call in again ( worth the 100 mile round trip)

Made our fish and chips to order. Really good quality and prices. Best thing was the friendly woman who served us. She was full of life and advised us on portion sizes. She suggested getting a regular instead of large therefore I knew she didn’t want to make money out of us. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Lived in the village 15 years and visited this place for the first time. I’ve always used the more famous one in the village. Let me tell you this shop is definitely better. The fish is cooked to order and is always piping hot when it hits the plate. You will have to excuse me on this and it does not repeat on me two hours later. Great job guys.

Make sure you drive slow past this chippy because you will miss it if you are not careful and you don't want to do that. Great clean chippy

Not bad but they really need to be exceptional being as they have a fair bit of competition locally. Soggy batter and undercooked potato in the fishcake.

We arrived without a booking and after a couple of minutes we were shown to our table and handed menus. Unfortunately after that, we were left around 15-20 minutes and nobody came to take our order. Eventually we got drinks thank goodness but then the food must have been another half an hour before it arrived. My husband and I ordered turkish eggs and it was nice but all 4 eggs (my husband's and mind) were all over cooked. I wouldnt go if you are in a rush to be honest, it took almost an hour and a half from start to finish.

Very loud very busy, staff weren’t helpful and the food took forever. Was rather overpriced.

The food has changed from traditional food your gammon and chips, fish and chips etc to trying to compare with bao buns at the Riverhead, sorry no contest. The pub smells of wet dogs particularly around the fire and the sofas and been bitten there. Not in a rush to go back .

Popped into town for a few bits fancied coffee and came across this hidden gem. The old Virgin music store is now a lovely bistro / cafe sharing the space with the post office at the back. Brilliant idea. There is something for everyone on the menu - mowe had continental croissant and desi omelettes....just beautiful. Definitely worth a visit even if its just for a coffee - lovely space to relax in. Will come back.
