Little Chippy in Carlisle

Used to be fantastic but after a lukewarm meal being delivered I rang them and explained and they said they would replace so I waited until 11.30pm and nothing. So I rang the next day for my money back but they wouldn't give it because they said I shouldn't order from them if I don't like there food!!!!!! I'm a regular customer!!!! But the chap I spoke to was sooooooo rude and I'm pretty sure he doesn't shout at MALE customers like he did at me!!!!!! I'm owed £12 and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone, they are soooo rude and pick on women

Sworn at when questioning price of £4.00 for a portion of chips. Aweful service and playing up to colleagues. Very unprofessional and chips were so bad could not eat them. Terrible. Will not be back and suggest avoiding at all costs

Ordered 2x large cod and chips with message saying plenty of salt and vinegar please. Order delivered lukewarm food, very greasy, box was flooded in oil, all cooked in old oil, no salt or vinegar added, batter soggy. Not happy with it and will not be ordering from here again. We could not eat this mess.

Great choice of food we had a mixture of southern fried chicken and normal fish and chips great taste and very generous portions

I left Carlisle Train Station, looking for food. This is just across the road from the station. I ordered large fish with chips. It was cooked to order. It was served in a box, with a fork, which made it easy to eat. The chips were piping hot, good. The fish was good, not a flakey melt in the mouth fish, that you know is chilled fish before frying (probably frozen). Still good,and woul recommend. Staff were polite and professional.

Ordered chips steak pie and plain sausage for delivery . Food arrived within time . I bit into the sausage and it was still cold in the middle. The chips were anaemic looking and tasteless and my friends steak pie was luke warm and really dry. Have tried to phone to complain but no reply. All in the bin but by all accounts nothing would be done anyway. Really wouldn't bother ordering .

Stopped in on way back to hotel after a night out. No queue meant quick service. Polite and friendly staff. Homemade chips - still warm after walking back to hotel. Value for money as similar bits can charge more.

not bad but they never have any batter and I just wanted batter on my chips so I had to settle for curry

Absolute rubbish fish n chips just full of batter, never again. Just all as dry as anything. Can’t saty Much more just RUBBISH.

This is a must visit..the best pizzas in town and has been the best chippy in town for a long time,now open very late and if you have not been before five it a visit as you will be pleased you did,thanks dave

For the past 6 years I have rented a flat in carlisle and since my early teens I have been an avid kfc fan. I wished kfc delivered on a night time until I discovered the Little chippy. It was like a dream come true. Twice the chicken for half the price without compromising on quality. I have ordered regularly from the little chippy for 6 years now and have never had an issue until now. I ordered 2 meals for me and my partner. As soon as the order arrived we realised something was up. One of the meals was correct but with the wrong sauce. No big deal. However, the other meal was completely wrong. Before the delivery driver had even left our housing estate we rang the little chippy. The phone rang for roughly 3 minutes before it answered. The answer was “hello? I no speak english”. I proceeded to explain that our order was wrong and the lady laughed and said “sorry we closed” and hung up the phone! I rang back immediately and the phone rang for 7 minutes before someone picked it up and hung up straight away. Don’t buy from the little chippy!!!

Ordered the chicken steak burger as I bit into it it didn’t seem like the right texture so after a couple of bites I opened it up to have a look the chicken under the batter was brown the outer layer was like plastic it just looked off or very very over cooked it’s knocked me sick I just hope I don’t wake up with food poisoning!! Never ordering ever again

Excellent customer service. The server misheard my mother’s order of small cod and chips and smokey sausage and chips. Found out when we got to the car, went straight back, and they swapped it for a small cod n chips, no fuss, only charge being the difference in cost! Highly recommend, cod n chips are excellent!

Only had a bag of chips but they were the best I have ever had and the menu and food on display looked great.

I order from little chippy at least once a week . Never again . Delivery driver was very rude when i answered the door. Complained when i went back inside to get the money to pay him so i sent him and his delivery packing .

Busy takeaway, but great service. Had the biggest haddock and chips and my son chicken and chips. Tasty, excellent value. Will be returning there next time in Carlisle. No brown sauce though ;).

Ordered a meal here and the chicken wings were awful, I couldn’t eat them and couldn’t be bothered to go back to complain. The price was great but what good is that if you can't eat the food.

Once again, on a visit to Carlisle, we decided to go to the Little Chippy and take a meal back to our hotel rather than go to one of the many places we could have gone for a meal or takeaway.

I have fish and chips weekly at various takeaways but unfortunately I wont be visiting this one again as although reasonably priced the chips and other offerings were of very poor quality and smelled of cheap ingrdients

Got a takeaway delivered from here tonight. Have ordered several times and the food has been tasty. Today's order was awful. Over an hour to be delivered and both meals were stone cold. No meat in the steak pie, just gravy and everything was dripping in grease. Feel sick off the small amount we ate. Never again!

We loved this chippy. Great fish and chips, it is obvious they take great pride and care ensuring that the meal is served in perfect condition. The portions are generous, and the fish and chips were about the best I've tasted.
