Linskill Centre in North Tyneside

My first time at the Linskill Centre. I joined Amy at her felting class. I thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely come back for more classes. Staff on reception were very helpful in getting me onto the mailing list for future classes. Plus I love the cafe.

The staff are so friendly and helpful. There are so many different activities available, so there are plenty of opportunities to try something new. I have made new friends which leads to opportunities to socialise outside of the Linskill. I would recommend going along to the centre and try something new, everyone is friendly.

This is an amazing community centre running lots of classes, talks and groups. I attend here regularly and have enjoyed every event I have been to. The staff and volunteers are all so friendly and helpful.

A great community resource, the activities are so varied and interesting. The staff are so friendly and helpful and the cafe is very reasonably priced. Attending this centre has enriched my life.

We had our wedding at Linskill at the end of October this year. We looked at a few venues but the costs were just way out of our range. I had ideas in mind and was not afraid to DIY and gather bits and bobs together to create the vision. Linskill offered a great canvas for this. I use Linskill regularly for different classes and we live very locally, we popped in one day to have a little look and Kerry was setting up for an event, she showed us round and we arranged to meet for coffee to discuss what Linskill could offer and our plans. Kerry was attentive and listened to our ideas to make sure that we could have the day we wanted at Linskill. We opted to have our ceremony in Burnett Hall and the rest of the day in Trevelyan Hall with access to the enclosed courtyard too. The staff were all wonderful, and did everything they could to make our setup the day before go smoothly, created a lovely atmosphere for our guests on the day and also tidied our decor up at the end of the night too. A special thank you to Bev, who went out of her way to make sure that as the bride I was not worrying about anything. Nothing was too big of a problem for Bev and she truly made the day that bit more special. Honestly, we could not recommend Linskill enough, as a charity, everything they make goes straight back into the work that they do for the community. The courtyard was safe, and great for the children (and adults) to run off any extra energy throughout the afternoon/evening. We had blankets for the outdoor booths and games which went down a hit. The bar was reasonably priced and well stocked too, we were asked if we wanted anything specific stocked too which was great. The decor done in the foyer area has that beautiful rustic industrial vibe which worked well with our autumnal theme and allowed space for us to welcome evening guests and have our photo & guest book area. The big car park is a bonus for guests and no one had any problems getting parked on the day. You have the option of renting the chair covers etc through Linskill which actually worked out cheaper than the quotes we had from elsewhere. The team worked tirelessly putting around 160 chair covers across the two rooms which we did not envy! Honestly, we had the absolute best day and we would definitely recommend Linskill! Though the country manor style venues are beautiful, the costs are sky high and we simply could not afford this. Linskill was absolutely great, and we had so many comments about the history of the building, how beautiful it was and how much of a hidden gem the venue is. We cannot recommend Linskill enough, I will attach some photos of our day. Thank you team, specifically Kerry and Bev! xx

We had our wedding at Linskill in October 2024. We cannot recommend it highly enough. Not only was the price very reasonable but the staff were incredibly kind, patient and attentive. A special shout out to Kerry and Bev who worked especially hard! The food was excellent, tasty and generously sized. The halls (they have two) were excellent and allowed us a blank canvas to decorate how we wished. The bar is well stocked and reasonably priced which is a nice surprise as many venues price gouge guests. There is a large self contained outside space with seating which was great for photographs and for kids to run energy off. The centre is such an excellent community asset and is run as a charity which means any money spent goes back into the centre. We would not hesitate to recommend the venue for weddings and other events.

Brilliant community centre offering a wide range of activities, clubs and events.

From the warm and helpful welcome at reception, to whatever you're involved in (but especially engAGE and its events, etc), this is a real treasure of a place, well used and enjoyed by many.

After a shaky start (we'd booked elsewhere) we found this place. Kerry was simply brilliant, she listened to what we wanted and offered sound advice. She was never too busy and always on hand when needed. She made the whole process seem so easy. As for the venue, it was beautiful. We had the most amazing night and the staff worked so hard throughout. Would most defnitely recommend.

Being new to North Tyneside finding Linskill is really helping me to Enjoy my retirement.I first joined Linskill riders cycling group which with the encouragement from Lucy and Charlie it feels like i can be there every day with whats on offer.Go on sign up for Grapevine!

I would highly recommend Linskill centre for booking your next meeting room space, or hosting an event. I've booked multiple business meetings at Linskill Centre, and both clients and staff have been more than impressed with the amount of meeting room options, the space available, the facilities, the food and drink, attentive reception staff and rates. Very local, very convenient, very cost effective. Highly recommended.

As regular user of meeting spaces and using the centre to host events I can thoroughly recommend the Linskill Centre, the facilities are great as are the staff, who have been really helpful in helping us to organise a large event. free parking and accessibility is really good too.

Linkill is a hidden gem in North Shields and more people should know about it! Not just a community centre, it has something for everyone, classes for a variety of things for all ages, rentable rooms for businesses, halls and beautiful gardens to rent as a venue for weddings and functions, with a bar. It has a cafe serving very nice hot and cold food. There are also Nurseries for little ones. Its surprising how versatile this place is and the staff are lovely, very accommodating and helpful. If you fancy getting out of the house to do something different or even just for a coffee give this place a look. FYI, If you're a small business looking for affordable premises to rent they also have other sites in North Tyneside as well as their main site 🤙

We come to the Linskill Centre frequently for meetings and events, great location and fab staff (and amazing scones in the café!)

I passed Linkskill Centre so many times but never been in until recently. I went along to a dance class on a cold wet evening. I was struck immediately by the warm friendly atmosphere. The spaces are bright and welcoming. I look forward to my weekly classes at Linkskill!

The Linskill is an absolute gem in North Shields. The variety of amazing services and facilities available along with the friendly and professional staff and management makes this historic and loved building like no other. A wedding venue, arts, dance and fitness classes, nursery, cafe, and so many wonderful community programmes. Definitely worth a visit!

The Cafe is a great space to catch up with friends, colleagues or have a business meeting. The drinks and food are very reasonably priced and it is a lovely atmosphere. Also a great space to hire out for coffee mornings, baby showers and events! There are also several rooms to hire at a very reasonable cost and spaces to suit all. These have been refurbished and are very clean, airy and modern. I would highly recommend!

For me, Linskill is a special place. I have watched it grow from a rundown Community Centre into a modern up to date Community Centre. The present team have brought it back to life and have launched a vibrant variety of classes and events for the community. Keep up the good work.

We recently hired the hall at Linskill Centre in North Sheilds for our daughters christening party. Staff were very good on the day, easy to book. We wanted somewhere that was easy to get to with free parking and that was all on one level for accessiblity purposes. Pricing is extremelty competitive and with a cafe on site too, this also swayed our decision. Recommended for sure!

I've attended Linskill for a variety of things. The biggest being my wedding reception as we came out of lockdown restrictions in April 2021 where they turned everything around in a matter of days and gave us a magical day to remember despite the ongoing rules in place at the time (including table service for our drinks as was required at the time). I then started to attend Baby Social when my little one was just a few weeks old which allowed me to have a warm cuppa and meet other mums, to other activities as she got older such as Giggle and Groove and the baby sensory room which are brilliant. Most recently we hosted our daughter's birthday party here in the small hall where we brought in Bloom to do a class with her friends then we all enjoyed food (including a teddy bears picnic for the children) catered by the Cafe. There's plenty of parking, good facilities, and the staff are friendly and I'm sure we will continue to host more events here as the years go by!

As a tenant for many years and as a casual room hirer the Linksill offers great value for money, excellent facilities and friedly staff who are always on hand to help :-)

The Linskill Centre is a thriving community hub, serving the local community by housing local businesses and charities, plus a nursery and cafe, and offering rooms for hire to local groups and individuals, all at competitive rates and second to none following some recent refurbishments. The Centre also offers a wide range of classes and activities for all age groups. It has developed into an excellent resource for the North Tyneside community!

This a great centre with a lot going on for all ages. I have used this centre for events I have planned and the Staff make it really easy for you to organise and make your events happen. There is also a great cafe with lush food and coffee, Such a nice place to have a meeting.

One of a kind vibrant community centre housing independent business’s and charities. An abundance of courses on offer and various volunteering opportunities. There are many rooms for hire @ competitive rates ranging in size from small meeting rooms to the large recently refurbished hall for weddings, celebrations & functions. Friendly and helpful staff always on hand to offer information and advice when required… a visit well recommended

The manager Iain was an enormous help to me and gave me an excellent deal for office space. They are really doing great work at Linskill and are a key asset to the area and the community.

Friendly staff, They Could not do enough for you. The Café selection of cakes are always impressive and hit that sweet tooth. We used there sensory room for a birthday party it was very impressive well laid out. lots variety to choose from all the kids loved it.

Lots of events are held here. Love the cafe. Great space to visit. Staff and volunteers are friendly and helpful.

The venue offers a varied range of room space to local community groups. We attended for several months for Spanish classes. The newly refurbished cafe on site is worth a visit.
