Once again looking after mum and wanting a "traditional" Sunday Lunch/ Mum was delighted when we asked her if she would like to go back to The Lindisfarne for Sunday Lunch. We were glad not to travel far on this cold damp day so the warmth of the Lindisfarne as soon as we walked in was a good feel immediately. he carvery was pleasnatly laid out spotlessly clean with freshly prepared vegetables being brought to the Carvery table and a full selection of 4 meats to choose from. Yorkshire Puddings arrived regularly to keep them warm, crisp and neither hard nor soggy. Perfect! The ladies serving us were polite and welcoming but also generous with our carvery choices. They were friendly and welcoming and delighted to learn that I had reviewed them earlier in the year. When it came to dessert the Mixed Fruit Crumble was delicious. The fruits were juicy and warm and the crumble was perfect! Not too thick so as to be stodgy as can sometimes happen and not too thin so that the fruit seeped into it. Lovely choice of custard or ice cream made this once again a Sunday Lunch to go down in the memories. Thank you to the staff who are welcoming friendly and efficient. Sunday lunch just like mums!

We hadnt visited the Lindisfarne for over 20 years but after hearing good things about their Sunday Lunch we decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed!! We easily found a space in the car park and were directed by a friendly member of staff to the Grill Room where lunches were being served . It was a Carvery offering traditional Sunday Roast for lunch. The selection was very, very good. A choice of 4 meats which had been cooked well and were looking fresh not having sat there a long time. A very good selection of vegetables -equally fresh looking- served by welcoming, helpful staff who really couldn’t do enough to put you at ease and help you enjoy your meal. Add to this the biggest Yorkshire Puddings I had seen with tasty, seasoned gravy and what could go wrong? In short nothing! We had been going out for Lunch for the past few Sundays at a number of pubs and restaurants in South Northumberland, yet we all agreed that this was the best tasted Sunday Lunch we had eaten. Portions were impressive, food was tasty and not over cooked nor over long under the heat lamps. The conclusion was that it was like a Homemade Lunch you would want to eat. Had we room for a pudding ?, the waitress asked? Apple Crumble or Spotted Dick? Ice Cream, Cream or Custard ? Decisions decisions! We “plumped” for Spotted Dick. Oh my the portion! My wife and her mother felt they should have shared one after trying their best not to leave any. You will pay a lot more and eat a lesser quality Sunday Lunch than you will at The Lindisfarne. Give it a tey you won.t be disappointed.

Lovely chilled bistro where the focus is very much on the quality of the ingredients and the amazing sourdough bases. The pizza I had (Five) was probably the best one I’ve had outside of Naples. Friendly and efficient waitress. The only thing that could be improved on would be a better wine list (many of the wines on the board were not available) and on the sides list, the option of a salad alongside the amazing potato dishes would be great.
