Lillium Garden in Northumberland

I've seen a review that I am a little unhappy with but can't reply to the actual reviev. I have allergies and always request different things to be taken out of particular dishes that I ask for, and this is never a problem, the guys at Lilium Garden always respond to this kindly. Also it was mentioned that the Counter staff were rude and abrupt, I've always found her to be kind and very polite. On another note, to most people assume that this is an authentic Chinese takeaway away, however this is not the case, it's Cantonese, this means that the style compared to the other 3 Chinese takeaway aways in Prudhoe is very different, the style of the food and how it's prepared is very different to an authentic Chinese takeaway. I've been frequenting this establishment for years and never had any issues except for it sometimes takes a little time to get your food due to it being very busy, but this isn't a problem for me because the food is delicious and worth the wait

Never again. Ordered a takeaway for the first time and said NO PORK. So what did they do they put pork in and I had a bad reaction after only one mouth full of food. Food allergies can be fatal. I am one of the lucky ones I have survived to warn you. When my husband went in the next evening the woman had a couldn't care less attitude and said you not happy don't come back. What a rude woman. And no we didn't get a refund after spending £29.90 if you are wondering. Stay safe and if you have food allergies avoid this Chinese takeaway.

They are always getting our orders wrong and when you complain they try to deny their mistake. The receptionist is quite accommodating but the kitchen staff are very rude.

Probably one of the best Chinese takeaways in the north of England, and a rival to those further south too. The food is excellent and served in prodigious quantity. The price is good and the staff are friendly and helpful.

Mrs Moon front of house and Coco behind the scenes are the best team. Never hear a microwave ding, I do see a spotless kitchen and hear the sizzling of fresh food every time. This is the best Chinese takeaway in the Newcastle area for sure. Served promptly and always with a smile.

Food is really nice. I would highly recommend the cheese chicken rolls and seaweed.

Save yourself while there is still time!! I nearly got through the door but before I could make it across the threshold, I stopped. Possibly the best decision of the month! The attitude of the staff and owner made my mind up for me. Please dear reader, while you can, save yourself and avoid this very sticky situation and stay away, don't even park nearby!!

Ordered for collection. Arrived at said time but then still had to wait 20 mins b4 it was ready .. It was well worth the wait . Lovely food . Its a shame they couldn't take card so it could be delivered . Had to go find cash and go out to get it .

This is the best Chinese in the northeast for good value freshly cooked food.... There's no going behind the scenes and hearing a microwave go ding here! This is sizzling straight out of the wok and perfect every time. Very well mannered happy staff, clean tidy work place, comfortable waiting area. Highly recommended.

Best Chinese in prudhoe in my opinion, other places may be slightly quicker and/or take card but if what you care about is the quality and taste of the food Lilium Garden is for you. I can highly recommend the “salt & chilli box” if just looking for a large portion to feed 1-2 people depending on appetite size.

I have always had great food from Lilium Garden. I do wonder at the very apologetic note informing customers of a meagre price increase. The increase only represents around a 2% price rise on most of their dishes. Hats off to them for not trying to rip us off during these difficult times.

I have made this my regular go to Chinese take away. Would recommend the Satay and black bean sauce dishes and the Chicken Wings. The Cantonese sauce is nice but a little too thick for my liking.

Ok, let's start with the good... excellent tasting, fresh food and reasonably priced. The bad - the most diabolical timing I have ever experienced, especially for collection. We had to wait almost an hour after our given collection time when we turned up in the shop for our food. Others came in, ordered and were served quicker. An absolute joke. If it wasn't for how lovely the food tasted 100% would be 1 star.

Always have tasty chinese food from here. Portions are good and prices are reasonable. Well worth a visit for your takeaway. Cash only payment, they do deliver for cash on delivery.

Best place in prudhoe for a Chinese takeaway

We use Lilium Garden every week and have done for at least two years now. Food is always great quality. We usually have delivery and the delivery guy is a great guy too. Previously we had used Lilium for years, but then stopped when new owners took over and standards dropped. However glad to say all is now back better than ever with the current owners and as I have said we use every week and food quality is always outstanding.

Not been here for years as moved area, been tonight and it was absolutely lovely, really cheap too. Best Chinese I’ve had in a long time 👍

The best Chinese chicken curry I’ve ever had. Juicy nice pieces of chicken, loads of perfectly cooked onion and the sauce itself was beautiful, the fried rice was nice and soft compared to local competitors and to top it off the prawn crackers were spot on. The wife had chicken fried rice and a pot of sauce and was equally impressed!

Iam a regular customer as I enjoy there style of cooking. Iam trying different meals to see what I like and what I've had has been very good. Delivery, they always say 45 minutes but I always get in 30 minutes can't fault it.

Lovely food, very tasty and fresh. Delivery is fast and staff very polite on the telephone also. Would deffintley reccomend.

Had to wait a while but this was down to distance absolutely worth the wait food was delicious red hot well packed everything that was expected and more.

Staying nearby on a break and found this restaurant on trip advisor. It was excellent, ordered and confirmed address details to be told 30 mins for delivery, and it was exactly that. Very polite on the phone and delivery driver. Food was excellent and hot on arrival. Highly recommend

Feel the need to write a review to get the score back up to where it belongs. Faultless food and delivery. Ordered 3 mains and everyone enjoyed their meal. Hot, lots of meat and full of flavour. Recommend the salt and chilli chips. Think we've found our new favourite takeaway

Wow .. This chinese has totally transformed itself into one amazing takeaway .. ordered 5pm, delivered by a friendly driver, fresh and full of flavour and reasonably priced.. I have tried a lot of chinese takeaways over the years and very impressed. Highly recommended

Superb food bursting with flavour and colours, tried quite a few lately and this place is definitely the best I've had recently. I did ask about all those low score reviews and was promised this was due to previous owners as these reviews were from 3 years ago. Lilium Garden is really nice inside, with a large TV to keep you entertained on your short wait.

Couple of weeks ago was poor but have to say last two weeks been great

Tried 3 Chinese places since i moved here and this is the fourth. By far the best food so far. Update though it's very annoying when they close without notice and don't update Google listing. A few times this has happened after I've travelled all the way there expecting them to be open.

After discovering that Lilium garden offers delivery, we have changed allegiance and we are delighted that we have. This is seriously the best Chinese food in Prudhoe. Absolutely delicious. Non greasy, lots of vegetables and moist, tender chicken breast in my chow mein and lovely crisp spring rolls packed full of nicely spiced filling. Would recommend without hesitation.

Desperate for something to eat and really couldn't be bothered to cook, I'd made my mind up it was to be a Chinese takeaway for me. My usual Chinese takeaway was closed so I made the mistake of coming here, I've not been here for years and it'll be years if at all before I go back. I ordered the Duck Spring Rolls and the House Special Curry with fried rice all came to £10. Got it home dished it up and what a Disappointment. The Duck spring rolls were soggy and swimming in grease and there was nothing Special about the House Curry at all, totally tasteless as was the fried rice. All in all a complete waste of £10, I reckon I put £9.50 worth of the take away in the Bin ! Finished up making a cheese sandwich and had a bag of crisps with it. Won't be going back and won't recommend...….TERRIBLE !

Bland curry with carrots,mushrooms and peppers. Since when were vegetables part of a chicken curry? Not enough chicken and once again what was there was bland. Chicken Chow Mein was a complete rip off. Noodles,noodles and more noodles very little chicken and no flavour. Will not be back as there are better takeaways in Prudhoe.

Ordered salt and chilli chicken from here tonight and it's just big nuggets of fat! Totally inedible. Chicken is a lean meat, where on earth are you getting this stuff from? Anaemic curry sauce and bland, tough rice.

Been coming to lilium garden for years, staff are polite and helpful, food good as usual. Our favourite are sweet and sour chicken cantonese and salt and pepper chicken.

Un calendario gratuito que nos hemos acostumbrado a lo largo de los años? Pues no.No se trata de las extras. La comida era normal en el mejor. De hecho, prácticamente todos sabían igual. Barbacoa costillas sabían como salsa, pato crujiente estaba seco y más crujientes de pato, los rollitos de primavera de verduras pueden tener una vez visto una imagen de verduras y el abundante en ganado toneladas era indiscernible mushing.Este es uno demasiados en una línea de falla la comida y el servicio, y estaremos buscando otro lugar para nuestra comida china en el futuro.

Tried the Lillium Garden Takeaway last week as it is under new management. Wow the food is good. On a busy Friday night it seems that the word is already out, great food at the Lillium Garden as it was so busy. But food comes out in a good pace so didn't have to wait too long either. Staff really friendly and welcoming. Parking (little car park behind) was easy too. I really recommend this takeaway if you want so great Chinese food whilst in Prudhoe.

I was passing through Prudhoe recently and thought I would pick up a chinese. Great service and fantastic food- having tried a number of Prudhoe takeaways before, have to say this is the best :-)

Things not quite right....incorrect order and quality poor , both of sauces and rice.Will be looking for an alternative takeaway as given this establishment a couple of goes now and no improvement alas.

Home on my own, so decided to order a Chinese Takeaway. Our local Chinese has been suffering with a quality problem for some months now, around the time the last owners left so thought that I would look for inspiration from TripAdvisor. Chose Lotus House & found menu on the Restaurants online web page. Made my choice & phoned order in at 6.20pm, told delivery in 20 minutes. When it got to 7.50pm I was beginning to wonder so rang back, told out for delivery. Eventually arrived just after 8.05pm. Chips so cold that they were stuck to the paper, Crispy Won Tons cold & definately crispy & by the colour I would of said cooked by King Alfred. Bean Sprouts, certainly different to what I have been used to, freezing cold, soft & swimming in a water like liquid. The main course, well that was definitely a joke, king Prawns & Chicken in WO Sauce. Three prawns, & the WO Sauce was Beef Gravy Mix with a liberal dash of Soy Sauce & a sprinkle of Indian Masala Powder. Definitely not WO Sauce.The whole experience is not one that I will repeat especially since my Wife came in & explained the excellent meal in Newcastle that she had.Would I do it again - definitely not. A complete waste of money.

First class food, first glass service! Can highly recommend the crispy prawns in salt and chilli pepper! Wouldn't go anywhere else for a Chinese!

The food us very good and the portion size is good for a lower than average cost.Well packaged and a quick turnaround on advance orders.Car parking on site is a great advantage.

Good selection of food well cooked and friendly service, although since the current members of staff working behind the counter were hired, I personally feel the personal touch the take away held over other chinese take aways has been removed.I've had several occasions where my order has been wrong (nothing too drastic, but it's annoying when you do not get what you ordered) and there has been the odd time where something is under/over cooked, but no more so than any other standard takeaway.Despite any negative tones above, I will continue to use the take away when my chinese hunger pangs appear.
