Lick in Kirklees

First time trying dairy free ice cream…and it certainly won’t be the last. Great choice of flavours and the staff in the Bakewell cafe were just lovely. It was certainly as good as any ‘dairy’ ice cream I’ve had previously.

Actually posting for Lick Bakewell our 3rd visit. Delicious dairy free/ vegan ice-cream. I've had the bubble waffle the last two visits. I particularly love the Turkish delight ice cream. My Son's favourite ice-cream is the banana and caramel.

Visited Lick yesterday for my third visit with a group of friends and family for ice creams and milkshakes. I was a little skeptical at first about whether non-dairy ice cream would be creamy enough, or what the texture would be like,,,,but it’s safe to say I’m converted…everything is delicious!! First time trying a milkshake yesterday and I opted for a strawberry and coconut mix. Two HUGE dollops of ice cream with strawberry sauce and marshmallows made for a refreshing and luxurious treat. Ice cream and sauce both made with fresh strawberries and the flavour was out of this world (plus I can count as one of my five a day right?!) Super friendly service, really lovely family feel to the place (mum and son behind the counter) and plenty other customers also getting excited about the range of flavours and the fab looking bubble waffle cones. Will definitely be back, need to try the Bakewell Tart flavour!

I actually did not know Lick was vegan only ice cream parlour. I don't recall ever having vegan inly ice cream before. This had several exotic flavours such as Bakewell, Turkish Delight and Cha Chai. So those were the scoops we had. 3 scoops in a tub £5. I liked both the Bakewell and Turkish Delight the most, the latter was mostly rose flavour. You would not know it was vegan ice cream.

This is a cute little place to pick up some tasty dairy free ice-cream or milkshakes, we went as part of a hen party and the staff kindly gave the bride a complimentary ice-cream! 🍦
