Liberte in Liverpool

Booked for my birthday, arrived and they didn’t have us down so we had to show proof .. on arrival told them we wanted to upgrade to cocktails.. as the drinks included was wine or beer or Prosecco, so the cocktails come along , a bottle of Prosecco and a jug of orange juice ! So basically paid an extra £10 each for a jug of juice ! The food was basically a Chinese starter ! In total £100 for a bottle of Prosecco (aldi Prosecco) and a Chinese starter ! Oh and the shots at the end was a shot of the juice .. only thing that saved it was the saxophone player .. never again

I had the unfortunate experience of attending a bottomless brunch at Liberté on the 14th of September at 7:30 PM, and it was, without a doubt, the worst dining experience I’ve ever had. To start, the staff were incredibly rude throughout the evening. When I tried to discuss the awful quality of the food with the manager, they actually avoided the conversation and walked away instead of addressing our concerns. It was unprofessional and extremely frustrating, especially since the food was truly terrible. We were served 4 bottles of Prosecco for 7 people, and it was clearly cheap, low-quality stuff. Quite literally they’ve bought it from Aldi. The food, however, was the real disappointment. The halloumi was off, and none of us could even eat it. The rest of the food was just as bad, making the entire meal inedible. This experience ruined what was supposed to be a birthday celebration for my friend, and we all left feeling completely let down. I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for a good meal or even halfway decent service. Avoid at all costs!

21 of us came for bottomless brunch, food was amazing as was the service and entertainment. Great value and carried onto rooftop afterwards. Can’t wait to visit again !!!

I have not come across a more appalling and unprofessional behaviour. We had a reservation booked well in advance and when we arrived there we found out the place was closed!!! No notification, nothing......They took us £30 to secure that we would not fail to show up and they were closed!!!! This is a fraud and they deserve to go out of business.

We had booked the bottomless brunch experience on 27/07 for a hen weekend (19 people) and spent £50pp including an upgrade for cocktails. Our time slot was 7-8:30pm for which we arrived promptly. On arrival the doorman was rude, asking us to walk quicker into the venue. Upstairs the room was dark and incredibly loud so we had to shout to talk to each other. Our table was not ready as the party before us had overrun. The lady was polite and let us sit anyway with an extension on our time slot but then it took another 20 minutes for Prosecco to arrive (which was from Aldi - nice but not worth the money we paid). We had to remind them that we paid extra for cocktails which was either aperol spritz or sex on the beach, and these were brought to our table. We made the most of it by dancing and the saxophone player was good. They also made a fuss of the bride at one point. Our party leader had given dietary requirements (1 vegan, 1 vegetarian, 1 dairy allergy) before arrival and reminded them again. Finally at 8:30pm the meat platters arrived (which was basically freezer food) but the other dietary requirements were totally forgotten about. The lights came up and music went off as the DJ went for a break. After complaining to the manager about the waiting time, we were offered access to the roof terrace and free tickets to the after party. However, we had already been offered the roof terrace in our booking. One young server was very helpful and tried his best to accommodate but it was clear that they had not started cooking anything to cater for the dietary requirements - at one point we were given a bowl of chips that had been cooked in the same oil as the chicken. Instead, at 9pm we finally received some very basic vegan burgers (burger and lettuce in a dry bun) that were cooked separately but all our friends had finished eating by then. We spoke to the manager who again offered the rooftop and after party, however we requested a refund due to the timing and lack of thought about the dietary requirements. We were told that we could have a partial refund but would have to wait for the main manager to do this on Monday. As we made our way upstairs we were told the rooftop was now closed, so decided to leave and go elsewhere to enjoy their rooftop party. Overall not worth the money and I would not recommend to anyone.

We visited this place on 27/07/24 for a bottomless brunch. Our table was next to a large window. The weather was hot and sunny so we all felt hot and uncomfortable. My friend pulled the cord on the roller blind to try and shade us but it didn’t work so she stood on her seat to manually pull the blind down. The blind was so flimsy that it came off completely. A female member of staff came over and said “for f@ck sake” before going to bring 2 male employees over. One was about 4ft with a bald head and glasses and the other guy was taller and bald and he was door security. The smaller guy said my friend would have to pay for the blind and when I asked how much he said £200. My friend said she wasn’t paying £200 for flimsy black blind to be put back up. The bigger guy then said get out. They took the ice bucket with the bottle of Prosecco away. When we were leaving the table they told us that the lift wasn’t working and we’d have to walk down the stairs. This was a blatant lie as the lift was working. They followed us all the way down the stairs. I have never experienced staff so rude and aggressive as these were. I certainly would not recommend this place to anyone. In fact, I will be telling everyone I know to avoid this place. We paid £80 deposit and all we got was one small glass of Prosecco before being thrown out. The 3 staff members would benefit from customer service training.

great advertisement, completely false though. The videos and photos they used to get you there are from a completely different bar. The event started at 1pm we arrived just before 3.00pm and people was still outside not being let in yet. We was given 1 children's tiny plastic cup on the way in and expected to use that one only plastic cup for all your drinks repeatedly for the bottomless hour. no more cups to use at the bar... "Reggae on the Roof" but we never even seen the roof top bar! we was all crammed into a small very hot and sweaty black room with no drink menu or decent drink options. no mention to us that the roof wouldn't be opening at all... The food options where just terrible and over priced. A Roof Top Brunch with No Brunch and No Rooftop. The other paying customers made this event even worth opening its doors!

Very bad quality food and drinks full of ice. Took a very long time to get our orders and we even got overcharged 16pounds but the staff told us that they don't do refund even tho it was the waitress fault !!!?? No apologies, nothing Go elsewhere trust me

Went for bottomless brunch and cocktails on rooftop bar after. We had a fabulous time , the sharing platter for bottomless brunch had plenty for us all , no one was hungry leaving. Good music and even live saxophone player! We had this fantastic girl, Darcy, looking after us. She made us feel so welcome and we never had to look for her for service , it’s like she knew and was right there when we wanted her! She’s a credit to the Liberte.

Nowhere to sit or stand. Drinks are extortionate. My friend received hers in a dirty cup and there was a dead fly in another. Not worth the price at all.

Horrendous new year experience. The company advertises a rooftop terrace however upon getting to the location, this was closed. We were told we had just a tiny room and had to pay at least £60 on drinks to sit at a table. Anyone who wants a luxury experience in liverpool, look elsewhere, there are much better places in liverpool that do not absolutely rip you off and fake advertise.

Our booking got cancelled in January due to renovations. They have still not issued a refund despite calling, texting and emailing ! Absolute shambles I was told to send confirmation of booking "which I never received" then had the scroll through my statement to find the exact date I paid as "apparently they dont book via names" !

If I could give this no stars I would, I came with my friends for brunch and it cost £40 each so £120 in total on the 2nd December there was a power cut and we got no food and hardly any drinks and didn’t receive a refund after all 3 of us have messaged multiple times they keep ignoring us. From reading other reviews they do this a lot rob money from people it’s disgusting don’t go here unless you went to get robbed. When I’m next in Liverpool I’ll be going in to try collect the money myslef

My friend booked bottomless brunch here for 20+ of us in January, we all paid £10 per person deposit and Liberte then cancelled our booking as they were closed for refurb but have never gave my friend her deposit of over £200 back and do not reply to any correspondence.

Our booking was cancelled (we weren’t informed of this until we arrived) and we STILL haven’t received a refund 4 months later. We are being completely ignored by the staff and will now take the issue through small claims court. I suggest the many people in the same position report Libertè to Trading Standards, this is free and will hopefully shut the business down.

Customer service is shocking been waiting for a refund for 2 months, ignore all contact I’ve emailed, texted, rang and direct messages and just been blatantly ignored. Disgusting Wouldn’t bother booking here huge waste of money and time, much nicer places to go in Liverpool, so disappointed.

Booked the sky cabin lodge to include karaoke,darts, beer pong etc. Paid £250 up front for our drinks package. Upon arrival we were placed in a dark empty marquee with some flashing lights and told the lodges weren't open. Long story short this company is full of lies ! They told us we would be refunded Tuesday after new year by the manager and then again via email. Still yet to receive our £250.

Didn't return the deposit after closing for a refurbishment and don't respond to messages or calls, shocking customer service

Took a £600 deposit and then cancelled the booking saying it was refurbishment, refusing to give the deposit back even though they have broken the contract, refurbishment is booked well in advance and they would of been fully aware of the dates they was closed when they took my money. Refusing to answer calls, emails and any other correspondence. Will now be taking this to court, seems a regular thing judging by other reviews. Avoid at all costs an absolute sham of a company.

We paid £600 to this company deposit. They rang and cancelled date as saying they closed for refurbishment. Despite two month of emails and calls they have ignored us. Sent 30 emails. I got my father to try get my money back. They ignored him. We are now taking them to court. Don’t send them your hard earned money. AVOID AVOID

My daughter and her friends paid £120 deposit 9th December, after having 2 drinks and having to leave before food came they were told by security at 19:00 that the rooftop had been evacuated due to high winds (which they previously called to check that it would be open`)and the manager then told them they would be contacted on the 11th for a full refund. After many emails, calls all not returned this has not been refunded to the original card holder. Would avoid, unless you like to throw money away! Will attempt to get money back even if this is small claims court.

Myself and 2 other friends booked the bottomless brunch on the rooftop . My friend had secured the booking with a £10 each deposit.No sooner did we get there then we were sent back down “to the bar” as the rooftop had to be evacuated due to high winds. There ended up with about 20 or so guests hanging around on the staircase not knowing where to go as there was no other bar to sit in whilst they sorted somewhere else for us to go (or so we were told) which was a complete lie!! So we ended up hanging around and being fobbed off basically. 4 weeks on my friend has still not had her deposit back as her calls are not being answered and her emails are being ignored! What type of place are you running?! Will never book here again.

Absolutely shocking. Experienced exactly the same as others are saying on here. Kicked out of the roof top bar on 9th December where we had paid £30 deposit for bottomless brunch. Told to go to a room downstairs only to be greeted by the angry Irish manager with the hat on who was ridiculously rude. Turned away and now can't get any refund despite calling on numerous occasions. Ruined our night. Despicable place, I wouldn't step foot near this place again.

Visited last night with 4 friends. On arrival we were informed lift was broken, so began the stair climb upto the roof of the third floor. Shown to our shed, only a couple were occupied, it was otherwise deserted, there should have lay the red flag. We had to go looking for staff to place our drinks order, staff were sitting around on their phones. Shed door didn’t close, so flew open all evening, on the windiest nights of the year, it was freezing in there. Food was mediocre when it eventually arrived. We were informed that the rooftop closed at 10pm, this is confirmed on the website. At 9pm we were told on 3 occasions by two members of staff that we had 5 minutes to leave. Obviously, we showed them their own website with the 10pm closure time. All of a sudden and without warning, the manager (the Irish bloke) appeared in the open doorway and began shouting, being abusive and demanding we leave immediately. We said we felt intimidated, he just got louder and more menacing. He said we were the only guests left, he wasn’t making a profit, wasn’t interested in closing times and to get out. We left as we felt his threatening behaviour could have escalated at any minute. He definitely wouldn’t have spoken to a group of men this way, he obviously has zero respect for women. It was an awful experience. Liberte, your manager is aggressive and out of control, please act now. Visit this venue at your own risk.

Please avoid at all cost, it’s an absolute scam. We paid £80 for bottomless brunch on the 9th and was told on the day, the rooftop had been evacuated and we were told by the manager we would be contacted on the 11th for our refund. It is now the 21st and we have emailed, messaged on Instagram, texted via their mobile, rang their mobile (unavailable) and we are still awaiting a message back to get our money back. This service has been absolutely appalling and it feels like they are trying to hold and not repay. Avoid giving this company any money or service. I will take this down if we are paid our refund but at this moment I have zero confidence in this company or business.

Came on the 2nd December for my friend’s birthday. It’s not well organised at all. You stand in a queue on the stairs for a good 20 minutes waiting to go in… we go in have a glass of Prosecco but tastes like turps. So we paid an extra £10 for ‘unlimited’ cocktails. Which we ended having 3 in total. The power cuts off and we were told the entire street had gone. However going outside shows other buildings on the street had electricity. We got served stone cold food which was rock solid so didn’t have time to cook because the venue’s electricity was cut. Lights came back on and then it was time to leave. I got really sick after this meal. And two others members also got sick following the bad food and strange tasting drinks. We have emailed about a refund already but still awaiting a response, and will need to report the food poisoning to the relevant agencies. There’s so many amazing venues in Liverpool that do bottomless so take a look at those first!!

Firstly, nothing on the booking that you had to pay £20 per person upfront 72 hours before the booking. Just a text from a random mobile number with bank details claiming for more money but not actually stating how much was needed. Waited 40 minutes to get served after already asked for our order to be taken once. We got told 2 minutes. 20 minutes later I then had to go and find someone again. Waiting nearly an hour for food to come which was mediocre. We ordered the festive chips which were the best thing and then the hot dog which looked anemia and tasted undercooked. Also had the roast chicken wrap which came nearly 5 minutes after the other food. The chicken was dry, the gravy was water and had zero flavour. The most flavoursome thing was the stuffing. All in all I wouldn’t no recommend it to anyone.

The worst bottomless brunch I’ve been to! There isn’t enough staff, if you needed anything you had to try and find someone as no one comes to your table. 80 minutes into the 90 minutes bottomless I had to ask for our food, then we was asked to leave 5 minutes after the food came because our 90 minutes was up. They did allow us some extra time when we complained but all in all I’d avoid this place.

Great vibe and service with good with drinks. However no atmosphere because no one who goes here knows to have fun until they’ve been fed 10 bottles of Prosecco. Food portions are TINY and a few staff are very rude, I’ll get bonneted next time...

Winter Village was exceptional, all the staff really looked after us and the cocktails have to be the best in the city. They’ve managed to change the roof so much since the Summer, looking forward to see what they do this year.
