A great little gem in Borth. Went to see a film with my kids, the cinema was great! Comfy chairs(film not too loud) and the owner was very welcoming. Look forward to going back!

We visited the restaurant for Mother’s Day and the food was delicious. We returned today for Sunday Dinner and again it was very good . Decent portion size , really tasty , friendly Service and good value . Highly recommend !!!

Went for Sunday dinner with partner, daughter and daughter’s boyfriend today. From start to finish, staff, food and setting were excellent. The owners are super friendly and really muck in. I’m a vegetarian and the beetroot tarte tatin was a great alternative. Portion size was great. The carnivores all loved their meals too.

This establishment is fantastic for that special night out, we had a lovely Valentine’s dinner followed by the cinema. The little added touches heart confetti, ambient music, open fire & a single rose for the lady made us feel special such a lot of thought gone into make the night special and the set menu was fantastic and cooked to perfection well worth a visit to this boutique cinema and restaurant.

Watched film here January 2024. This is a great little cinema. Interior is interesting decor, yhe seats are really comfy and refreshments are amazing.

Visited for a Christmas meal and was not disappointed! The staff were fantastic cannot fault them at all, food was flawless! Overall great experience, highly recommend!

Only visit family in Aberystwyth once every few months, and still find it staggering that the best place to eat is a beautifully converted cinema & restaurant in Borth. My days of snacks at the railway after five pints, or a Tandoori (excellent though both are), are long over. Long live Libanus 1877

Our meals here were exquisite. Amazing, innovative menu with great ingredients cooked with imagination and pizazz. I am lucky to eat in Michelin starred restaurants occasionally and this is on a higher level.

Nice space and atmosphere however the food was disappointing, the pepper and cauliflower watery soup is terrible, jerk chicken is not any close to jerk chicken I had in a real Caribbean restaurant. Not sure how it’s hygienic working with hair down in a kitchen nothing that I saw and tasted was any good compared to my previous experience here.

Fascinating setting in restored chapel. Owner and staff friendly and helpful. The food is interesting and well-prepared. The wild mushroom starter was absolutely delicious. Perhaps as they become more established they will risk a more adventurous wine list at the top end.

This is a wonderful gem in the beauty that is Borth. My husbands family have been visiting since WW2, such that when we got together, he brought me here too. Now we have brought our little boy with us and hope this will be an annual tradition. This week we had dinner, Sunday lunch and also went to the cinema at Libanus 1877. It is as lovely now as it always has been and the owners and staff really do make you feel like it is a home from home. We thoroughly enjoyed all the food, drink and entertainment and would happily recommend Libanus 1877 to anyone visiting Borth. It’s definitely had a makeover since we last visited, which has made it all the better. It is buggy friendly, and has a lift to the first floor, which is suitable for wheelchairs too. We look forward to seeing you all again soon.

From the point of entry this restaurant and it’s staff were amazing. We’ve waited patiently for Libanus to reopen its restaurant and we can only say it was worth the wait. At the end of the day I can only say you get what you pay for, if you want a top end dining experience then this is the place to go. The service is second to none, the dining experience was second to none. Amazing, thank you for a great experience.

I went yesterday for a dinner with friends and we really enjoyed the time in Libanus. Great service and very good quality food. I can’t wait to go again.

We try different resteraunts in and around Aberystwyth. Sadly this has been the most disappointing by far. We appear to be in a minority of unsatisfied customers, but we feel it really is expensive and quality and quantity poor!

Great looking place, however don't try to book seats as it seems their approach to seating is inspired by the sunloungers at Benidorm principle. Get their early, reserve your seat the go off and fo whatever until the film starts. Disappointing because it's a great little spot.

We visited Libanus twice during our holiday as the food was so good the first time. All food was excellent quality, some of the best I've eaten. Steak was cooked perfectly to order and was beautfully charred on outside. My beef medallions with garlic prawns...

This restaurant was just absolutely wonderful! I booked the cinema and the restaurant through their Facebook page on the Monday evening, to visit on the Wednesday evening. They were very prompt in coming back to me and allowed sufficient time, when allowing for booking, for a 2-course meal before going downstairs to the old-styled cinema, which was just fabulous! The screen size, seats and additional quirky things in the cinema were wonderful, along with an old cinema smell, finished the evening off perfectly. The restaurant was just amazing - the service was second to none; all of the staff were very friendly and very helpful; and the food was just absolutely to die for! I would return to Borth and the local area just simply to come back to this restaurant and cinema again! A wonderful experience!

This is just the best Cinema and restaurant for miles. Friendly natural owner and staff a great laugh, brilliant films to see and restaurant meals timed to suit the picture showing. Sit in comfy red leather seats or cushioned armchairs. Just Fab.

Just had a fantastic meal at Libanus. The restaurant had a lovely warm ambience in the converted chapel and the staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was amazing. If you are over this way on holiday you have to try this restaurant. It’s not cheap but it’s worth every penny.! You will not be disappointed.

Food is incredible, and so is the service. They went out of their way to find me a table even though they were fully booked. This was my second visit and I can’t recommend it enough. Pork belly and creme brûlée were delicious.

Mine hosts, Peter & Grug, were around to give us a warm welcome and Peter took us upstairs to the restaurant. The surroundings and the ambience were superb, this former chapel has been converted with impeccable taste. We were a large family group of 3 generations and the fantastic food was enjoyed by every one of us (complements to the chef and all his/her team). All the dishes were of outstanding quality and the waitresses were all friendly and helpful. Peter and Grug should be complemented on having assembled an excellent team. I cannot emphasise enough that this restaurant is well worth a visit.

We had a chance to eat here twice. Once for the Sunday lunch and then the evening menu. Drinks selection was good. Wines reasonably priced. The lunch menu was really very good. Plenty of food and a good choice. Service was good although they apologised for a small delay, we didn’t mind at all. The evening menu was also great. The Welsh steak was as good as any we have had anywhere in the world. Lamb was perfectly cooked. The Thai style chicken very well spiced. Desserts, and we had all four on the menu that evening, were also very good. Thoroughly enjoyed and a nice chat with the owner too. I’ve been going to Borth since birth as my grandparents lived locally. If only we had as good a restaurant years ago. Yet to try the cinema. We will be back.

What a fabulous place! We were a party of five and it is fair to say we had enjoyed a few tipples before supper. Helen and the staff could not have been more accommodating. We shared a selection of starters with the Pork Belly and Calamari being a highlight. Steaks and Lamb we enjoyed all round with the meat cooked beautifully. For pudding Espresso Martinis were made specially with a round of nightcaps to finish! Highly recommend

Sunday lunch for Fathers’Day - what a delight. The warmest of welcomes from the owner who was delighted to show us around the whole place. The cinema looks a cosy, intimate space and the decor of the entire building was very impressive. Super friendly waitresses, an excellent menu and even better food. We ate every morsel of every course! My daughter enthused over the delicious home made mint sauce. What a gem of a resource for Borth.

Took the children to this restaurant. We love food and haven't eaten out in so long. Could not believe the quality of the food. The flavours were so well thought out - mind blowingly good. Usually you may just have starters that are amazing and the main course doesn't follow suit - this wasn't the case, every mouthful was phenomenal. The service was the fantastic (thanks ) can't wait to go back again and again.

Visited twice during our weekend in Borth for dinner on Saturday night and lunch on Sunday. Really impressed with our experience; food was excellent and original, service was attentive and friendly and there was a good selection of wines available. Thought overall was very good value for money and we'll definitely be returning next time we're in the area!

Went to the cinema on Saturday evening - Cosy, Excellent value for money and fantastically friendly but not over attentive staff. I Was recommended this cinema/restaurant as a place worth visiting ,so we booked for last night and took our two boys with us ,when we arrived Helen our waitress greeted us and was very helpful re the menu .We all had starters and main courses , for starters we had calamari , fish cakes and the edamame all tasted very good .then it was onto the mains the lamb was very tender my steak was cooked too perfection and the green curry was one of the best Tom had ever had !! At this stage Peter the owner came over and asked if all was ok the desserts just finished of a fantastic evening of great service and delicious food in a wonderful setting ! If you get the chance too eat here grab it you will not be disappointed .Thanks for the great food and attentive service see you all soon !!

Between us we tried 3 different starters and 3 different main courses. All were excellent (and we’re all fairly picky). The service was very good and the atmosphere was calm and relaxed and we felt very safe. This restaurant is worth making a special trip to Borth for.

We had the most beautiful food - went in October and had a lovely three course meal. And went yesterday for a Sunday dinner and the food was absolutely delicious, the meat melted in my mouth! I would 100% recommend to everyone 🤩

Luckily our son had visited the restaurant and told us about it. We could easily have driven past without noticing it. It is an old chapel which has been converted to a cinema (downstairs) and a restaurant upstairs. We experienced excellent service and the staff and owners were exceptionally pleasant. The food was not bad either!The standard of the food was very good with plenty of choice. If one can't make ones mind up it is possible to order several light bites.My steak was cooked to perfection and my wife's fish special was stunning.

Two of us booked for lunch after a walk amidst some of the stunning views Borth has to offer. The restaurant itself is in the upper part of a beautifully and tastefully converted chapel set back from the main road in Borth. The food was excellent: I really enjoyed the 12 hour braised brisket of beef which was meltingly tender. But I’d say the thing that stood out was the attentive and friendly service. Finally all the necessary health precautions for these strange times were in place and clearly but discreetly carried through, which was very reassuring. Thanks to all the team at the restaurant for making it such an enjoyable meal. We will be back and would recommend it.

Four of us ate at Libanus last Thursday evening. My husband and I shared the scallop, salmon starter which was fabulous and we wished we’d had one each. Our friends had the diddy brioche with chicken (sorry can’t remember what it was called) which they also enjoyed. Then, three of us had the catch of the day which was Hake and my husband had the beef dish. For dessert two of us had pavlova and the others had the Bara Brith. We were blown away by the standard of food. It was all divine!Must add that the staff were all very friendly and efficient also working under difficult Covid conditions.

I can say for sure this is the best cinema I have ever been in. We were early and hadn't been to Libanus before. The owner? showed us into the main cinema and gave us signs to reserve our seats which were actually a pair of a limited number of comfy armchairs with cushions. There were also fleece blankets if you wanted them! It was an intimate environment, not too loud, we were allowed to take our drinks in and there were the usual cinema snacks (popcorn, doritos with warm cheese, chocolate). What more could you want? We will be going again!

So good we came back the next day! A truly beautiful building, considerately developed, a great cinema and cosy bar with real fire, the owner/ staff couldn't have been more friendly and my 6 y.o. had a fantastic time ( so did parental units) will be back every time we are in area

Had a lovely time here with my husband and Granddaughter watching Farmageddon. I have mobility problems and the staff had moved a chair incase I needed to use my wheelchair.very helpful and friendly.

We visited this lovely little cinema the other week. The sound and picture quality were excellent and the seats so very comfortable. It was packed and we were lucky to get in. Very highly recommended

I love this cinema. The owner is a wonderful man so friendly & welcoming. The armchairs are so comfy, it's like being at home. It's only cinema that sells sweets for the same price as the shops. I would highly recommend a visit. I can't wait to visit again.

Visited the cinema a few times over the last couple of years - it is excellent value and Peter is so friendly and helpful - nothing is too much trouble - seating is very comfortable with plenty of leg room - grandson loves it and the cuddly fleeces - we will definitely be returning for another visit very soon

What a fantastic find in Borth. A wonderful small cinema where customer service and satisfaction is definitely the priority. We enjoyed watching a movie in the comfort of an arm chair that you'd find in your front room. Great sound in the cinema and prices that really impressed us. Less than £33 for 4 tickets (2 Adult and 2 Children) with both alcoholic and soft drinks and sweets. I would definitely recommend this cinema to anyone visiting Borth, the hosts/staff welcoming too

We visited this cinema today to watch the new Lion King film. Bearing in mind it was 30 degrees outside this cinema has air conditioning which meant we were comfortable the entire time! The tickets were amazing value for money considering the film only came out last week. The snacks and drinks were very reasonable! The staff were very friendly and reserved us a comfy seat and were very accommodating when we had to move as my younger sister couldn’t see from the back! Definitely recommend! Amazing trip all round!

A beautiful cinema in an old church building found amongst houses, shops and pubs in Borth. Had a good chat with the owner about the ‘ups and downs’ of owning a cinema and how hard it can be at times. The owners clearly have a passion for providing an excellent customer experience. We stayed to watch Toy Story 4 in the cute one-screen cinema and thoroughly enjoyed our viewing. A lot of effort has gone in to creating this cinema with comfy seats and a good option of snacks and drinks. Give it a go, you won’t be disappointed.

What a gem of a cinema, we loved it. Very friendly welcome, snacks cheapest I've ever seen at a cinema. Choice of reclining seats or big comfy armchairs. They even have blankets if your chilly. Only about 20 people there on the night we visited. Come on people use this cinema, it would be a shame to lose it. We will definitely return. Even thought of booking a few days nearby so I can take my husband. Highly recommend.

It is always great to find the unexpected when visiting a new place. Wild and windy Borth with its slate grey skies, impressive dunes and bulwarked pebbled beach is a wonderful place for blustery beach combing walks. And on a wintery June night it was a huge pleasure to enter this wonderful little 70 seat boutique Cinema to see Rocketmam in surroundings so beautifully fitted out. An upstairs bar with friendly bar maid and panoramic view across the flat grasslands and distant mountains sets you up for a great night out. A restaurant will soon be open for pre film supper. Plump easy chairs down one side and wide modern seating opposite, large as first class Jumbo jets, with drink pockets and snuggly fleeces adding to your comfort.

We stay in Borth quite a lot but have never visited this boutique cinema. As rain was predicted we decided to book to see a kids film to keep the kids entertained. We found the booking process a doddle....just go onto Facebook Messenger and message the cinema. They’ll put you on the list and then stroll in to pay when you get there. Seats aren’t reserved unless you specifically ask for a certain seat so do get there in time during busy periods.
