Cuatro de ellos fueron allí a buscar un restaurante vacío, en una noche en que el resto del pueblo estaba bullendo. Nos sorprendió un poco ya que nos habían dicho que tendríamos que reservar para conseguir una mesa y pagar un depósito de £ 15 por cabeza. No había precios en su sitio web, ninguno en el menú exterior en la ventana, y precios muy altos en el menú muy limitado en el interior. Wonderful place with wonderful service! Owned by the nicest most genuine couple, offering customer service and experience that is genuinely second to none. You can tell they are passionate about the food and experience they are offering and they are so generous! My number one place in aberystwyth that I would recommend to literally anyone and everyone who comes here.

Beautiful food and brilliant customer service the waitress was very friendly and welcoming, you get free soup with every main whilst you wait for your food which was lovely. Food was overall 10/10 would 100% recommend! Plenty of vegan options too.

Got to have the best birthday at Paprika!! They were so welcoming and treated us so well! The waitress was so lovely and the cook gave us a warm welcome too!

We were greeted warmly upon entering and felt like visiting family at all times. A very hospitable place with delicious Hungarian dishes. You no longer have to go to Budapest to taste traditional cuisine. I highly recommend!!!

We had a meal at Paprika once, the food tastes good, but the prices are extortionate for what it is. This is definitely not good value for your money.

Very, very good demonstration of great Hungarian food. The Paprikash is perfect, the Gundel pancake is divine, the service friendly. You will fall in love with Hungarian food after a visit here.

This place is a gem! Try Hungarian food, you will not be sorry! Our meal was beautiful. I don't think I have ever been anywhere where the staff are so passionate about their food and ensuring you have a great experience. It was a little quiet in there for a Friday night- people of Aberystwyth you need to fill this place, the food is sensational!

Absolutely wonderful food and hosts! This was probably our best restaurant experience ever, the food was delicious with very generous portions and they couldn't have done more to make us feel welcomed and at home. 10/10 would recommend and will be going again.

£80 for 3 mains and a small bottle of water- even though we asked tap (including serv charge). The food was good but the portions not big enough for the price that they have. £30 for the wild boar stew for which the description in the menu was bigger than the actual dish. Very kind lady serving but she was on her own, which lead to us waiting for some time until she shows up from the kitchen in order to ask her something. The food didn't take long to come though and it was tasty. The decoration was very traditional and created a cosy atmosphere.

Took a trip through Wales and found this amazing Hungarian restaurant. The paprikás csirke was fantastic, it reminded me of how my mother makes it. If you’re looking for amazing Hungarian dishes I’d highly recommend! Oh and don’t forget to try the pálinka.

We were around for a few graduations, so to celebrate, I had booked a table at Paprika. Paprika because of their commitment, the delicious food and the very pleasant atmosphere. I don't know many restaurants offering such a satisfaction. We had ordered 2 share-plates to start, a vegetarian and one containing meat. Great, both. Really good. For mains we had ordered : Boar, Chicken Paprika, Mushroom Paprika, Cauliflower Paprika, Catfish, The Countryman, Deer Stee & Rosé Duck Breast. All very well prepared. I drunk an Varga Egri Biker with the food. This dry red wine went very well with the food. To finish we ordered a few different treats, Paprika had even prepared a few surprises for the graduates (very nice) and I opted for the interesting spirit selection (I believe these are different kinds of Palinka, but as the alcohol % goes up fairly high, I am not sure). It tasted impressive. The Hungarian food appears basic, but the taste will surprise you. Thank you, Kata & Sándor ! We will return.

When we firstly came there , photos on menu at the front door did not look so good... But we were so hungry... went in.... we have seen a beautiful place and beautiful lady with smile on her face... We ordered food... It was the most delicious food we have ever eat... Amazing !!! I would just change photos on the menu as it does not look really as good as it really is... ❤️ Delicious. ❤️

I know the price is the price, but it is very expensive. I can only assume the import costs of goods from Hungary are high and that is reflected in the price. We could have left if we wanted so cannot complain. It was very quiet for a Friday night. Just us there. Service was great, she was lovely. Food was good (trying hard to ignore the price in my review). Definitely got the Hungarian experience though.

Amazing food, incredible experience with highly attentive and passionate staff. Food was genuinely delicious and authentic. You have to book in advance and put a deposit down which is unusual but don’t let it put you off. High quality and will return, for special occasions.

This is the second time I’ve eaten here now and both times were exceptional. I was remembered from my previous visit and given a warm welcome. The food was really tasty and very filling and my friend who I was with said it was some of the best veal he had ever had. The service is so personal and you can tell that they really care about your experience. Would definitely eat here again.

One of the best restaurant I have ever been. Not because Im Hungarian it’s because what’s the place giving you from the Hungarian food and atmosphere. The service is excellent, so friendly and warm welcoming. The food taste like you are dining in Hungary and served like you are in a Michelin star restaurant just you get much bigger portion. I can only recommend and definitely will go back in the future.

I'd read a lot of good things about Paprika so I was really looking forward to trying it on a recent visit to Aberystwyth. Unfortunately, I was left quite disappointed: Pros: - Resturant had nice atmosphere, limited tables and intimate feel. - Service very kind and welcoming. - Menu had lots of different choices (without being too vast) Cons: - Goloush soup was a very simple broth with little in the way of flavour. - Catfish paprikash - no discernable taste or texture of fish, it was essentially a vaste bowl of creamy dumplings which were nice but so heavy and no variety in flavour. I was so full after this I didn't fancy any dessert. - we were sat near to the kitchen and could hear the sound of the microwave being used all evening which added to the disappointed feeling. - it was a very pricey meal for what we got (around £100 for 2x soups, 2x mains, a glass of wine and beer each). I love to support independent resturants and truly went in excited to try Paprika but to pay such a huge amount for basic food reheated in a microwave was such a disappointment.

Absolutely awesome meal. Excellent friendly service. They found out it was my birthday and they brought out a chimney cake? I think that was what it was called and played Happy birthday for me! We will definitely go back there. Thank you for a wonderful meal.

Owners are such lovely people, made us feel very welcome. My partner bought a bottle of Palinka after trying it here. That's great that you can buy it in Paprika. Absolutely 5 Star across the board. If you're not familiar with Hungarian food, it is tasty, hearty and quite filling, and Paprika have a great offering of traditional dishes cooked well. We choose a balance of lighter soups and chunkier mains to leave some room for desert. Everything was lovely, from the first welcome from the hosts, the atmosphere (it's a popular venue and was full on Friday night), each dish we'd ordered was fresh and delicious, through to our host's recommendations for wine, Hungarian liqueurs and dessert. The chestnut puree is a fluffy delight. Try it - you won't be disappointed.

We were in Aber for one night and came across this Hungarian restaurant and thought it would be great to try out. If you're not familiar with Hungarian cuisine it's tasty, hearty and filling so we balanced our dishes to save room for dessert. It was all lovely, from the first warm and friendly greeting of our hosts. The dishes were fresh and delicious, the atmosphere was perfectly cosy and we were given great suggestions of wine and liqueurs to with our choices. The chestnut puree dessert was something special and when I said it was my birthday - right at the end, as an afterthought - we were given star treatment. Fantastic. This is what eating out on Friday night should be like.

The restaurant look lovely and staff were friendly. The only word for the food was sickly slop. Never been to a restaurant where the food was so bad. Top it all it was quite expensive which we paid for as the waitress was so nice and didn’t want to offend as we had already sent the wine back.

This was our fifth dinner at Paprika and again it was wonderful. This luxury restaurant is full with guests every time we visit. Real fine dining, but the portions are huge. I tried the Duck Royal which was really on fire. My husband had an incredible Wild boar stew. And our friends ate Confit and Rose duck. We were sorry that there was no room left for dessert. The whole evening passed with a full belly and a fantastic good mood. Thank you Katie and Alex!

What a fantastic spot and what a wonderful evening. The wonderful staff here go out of their way to make this a lovely occasion. We had a complementary drink and a very warm welcome. This is a lovely place serving amazing food - if you love Hungarian food this is for you and if you haven't tried it, the staff are very knowledgeable and the food is superb whether you have tried it before or not. I had duck and it was beautifully cooked. The atmosphere is warm and friendly and the staff do their best to make it a home from home and I can't recommend it enough. People of Aberystwyth have a gem in their town and I hope they fill it every evening! We are definitely coming back|!

My husband and myself were very very disappointed with this place!!! Food and drinks were very overpriced, portions were small and not authentic Hungarian flavours!!! And if this wasn’t enough, on top of our bill we were charged a service fee of £7.20 !!!! Ridiculous!!!!

My first time experiencing traditional Hungarian food. The quality of the food was amazing. The truffle mashed potato was sublime, as was the sour black cherry sauce. Sanyi and Kati are great hosts, so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. I went with a Hungarian friend who was equally impressed with the standard of the food. This is our second visit to the gem of a restaurant and e wondered why we hadn’t been back sooner! We love locally and this place serves such delicious, authentic food. Katie and her husband a generous hosts and are so welcoming. It’s slightly more expensive than some places nearby, but worth it for the freshness of the food and the service you receive. We will be back as I am working my way through the menu! The potato pancake was sublime and my husband’s cabbage and pork knuckle stew incredibly flavourful and filling.

We often visit Aberystwth and have wanted to eat here for a while. We finally went, and we will definitely be returning. Warming, hearty , yet light and delicate flavours , the food was delicious.. We shared a goulash soup, which was perfect, before having Duck and the amazing baked pancake dish Homely , and traditional Hungarian decor, And most importantly, two friendly and warm hosts Katie and Sandor chatted to us about their recipes and gave us some pickles to take home.. Se trata de un pequeño restaurante familiar húngaro. La decoración y el menú habla de lo orgullosa que está la familia de su origen y es una alabanza a la cocina magiar. El menú es variado y delicioso, con platos tradicionales y alguna adaptación local. Unido a un servicio cercano hacen una experiencia muy agradable.

Delicious and well-made food, provided in generous portions. I cannot fault the food or the congenial hospitality. My one quibble was the price of the (tasty) Hungarian beer, which was a little steep. I would be more than happy to return and try other items from the menu

Kid-friendliness: We tried to dine in twice and go directly to restaurant and we were rejected saying they don't have tables available even there were a lot of tables unreserved and we can only book online. We tried to book online and when paying the deposit they asked the age of children, they have a policy of children under 6 years old not allowed. We are disappointed because they do not have any honesty nor transparency to say kids are not allowed we kept on trying booking this restaurant and we were lied. Very disappointing about the way they treat families with kids. If they would have been honest and say we do not accept kids it would be fine but instead they lied to us. Very rude!

Slightly disappointed, too expensive for what it was and portions were tiny, left and went for pizza afterwards to top it up. Shame that prices were not displayed on the menu on the window, so decision could be made then whether to come in or not. Have been to Budapest few times, so was looking forward to some lovely food. Do not mind paying 25-30£ for a main but I I would expect to be filled up after that meal (unless I am eating at Michelin restaurant and have al a carte menu for taste buds). Service was very good but you will be charged for the service during the payment (our bill was about 70£ + 8£ for service)

My wife and I, having recently got married, had a little honeymoon away in Aberystwyth. Saw this restaurant on Google Maps and decided it was definitely worth checking out and we were certainly right! The service was incredibly friendly and the food so delicious it was near impossible to choose just one dish! Amazing vegan selection too, which my wife and I loved. The chef also bought us a glass of pálinka each when he heard we'd recently got married. Amazing experience overall and very happy taste buds! Köszönöm! Dicséret a séfnek!

We visited Paprika restaurant with my partner on a visit to Wales in Aberystwyth. Food was really tasty and a great choice of hungarian restaurant. It was very welcoming and the chef fantastic. We couldn't stop eating! I definitely highly recommend it.

My fiancé and I went to Paprika after walking past and thought the menu looked interesting. We were immediately greeted by the very welcoming hostess. She was so friendly and lovely and recommended dishes to us as we hadn’t tried Hungarian food before. The food was incredible and the atmosphere was lovely and cosy. The chef even came to our table to say hello and was so kind to us. We felt we made two new friends that evening and we can’t wait to visit again!

My husband had smoked pork knuckle cabbage stew which he thoroughly enjoyed. For dessert we shared a very large crepe with apricot, walnuts and chocolate. A perfect ending to a most delicious and memorable meal. Thank you, Katie and Šandor, for providing us with a very special introduction to Hungarian cuisine.

The quality of the wine and the food did not match the price at all. The food was nice, but not excellent or even good. The extra service fee was unexpected and we left the restaurant in a bad mood, we paid too much for a cheap meal, accompanied by too many smiles.

I apologise but it was very poor value for money. I had half bowl of Goulash soup (with 2 slices of ordinary bread) and a tin of coke. The soup was watery and nothing like Goulash I have had many times in Hungary and Austria...

We felt a great family atmosphere, a very nice welcome. The food is very delicious, you can taste new flavors - the son had graduation and on this occasion we got a delicious surprise dessert and a shot of special alcohol :) thank you and we highly recommend it!!

Paprika is a really, really lovely place! The food is extremely tasty and authentic, and the proprietors are so nice, and clearly love what they do. They came out to call us family, give us hugs and handshakes, and share free shots of pálinka with each meal. We think it’s the best food in town - we came three times, and loved it every time. One in our party said it was the best duck he’d ever had. And their selection of Hungarian beers and pálinka were a delightful novelty. My favorite menu item was the hortobágy. Egészségére!

We were served by a very sweet Hungarian couple and we felt completely at home with the Hungarian food, everything was delicious and we had a great conversation. Eten was niet zo bijzonder. We komen net terug uit Budapest en daar was het echt beter. Naar aanleiding van de reviews hier gekomen maar het was eigenlijk 50% te duur. Ook dat de fooi maar even (12 pond!) op de nota werd gezet hebben we nog nooit in Engeland meegemaakt. Dat geeft het geheel toch een zure nasmaak. Dan moet je gaan onderhandelen over de fooi. Voelde ongemakkelijk.

Ich hoffe, mit meiner Bewertung die unverständlich hohe Bewertung etwas gerade zu rücken. Die rosa Entenbrust war nur halb so viel wie abgebildet und Furz trocken. Alle Beilagen waren Fertigprodukte. Die Spaghetti sogar noch verkocht. Das hunters beef war ein gekochter ungewürzter Tafelspitz. Die Tellersprache leider nur Kantinenniveau. Meine Frau wäre nicht mal satt geworden wenn ich ihr nicht etwas von meinem Essen überlassen hätte. Die übertriebene Freundlichkeit beim Service macht eine offene Bewertung vor Ort sehr unangenehm. Wer gerne hofiert wird und vorher schon gut gegessen hat ist hier richtig.
