Wow what a beautiful place!! Loved our stay here. Angharad and Rob are just a wonderful couple and make you feel welcomed and at home. The homemade cakes in the room were gorgeous and breakfast was the best. They've done such an amazing job with Caemorgan Mansion it's beautifully decorated throughout. We will definitely be back when we visit the area again. Thank you for having us 😊 and Mwnt was definitely worth the visit.

Beautifully cooked and presented food. My partner had the scallops, I didn't because I am not keen but if scallops tasted like this every time I ate them I would be converted. Recently stayed at the caemorgan mansion, this tastefully refurbished 5 bedroom guest house just outside cardigan is an ideal place to stay. With large well appointed bedrooms with king size comfortable beds and modern en suite facilities. We booked an evening meal and the locally sourced produce was served to perfection. I had the rib eye steak which was one of the best steaks I have ever eaten. Beverley and David were charming hosts who were always ready for a chat. We will certainly be returning at some point. Having lived in cities and capitals most of my life, moving to West Wales has led to gastronomic disappointment. We have young kids and don’t eat out much these days. When we do, I’ve lowered my expectations to think that if a meal out is reasonably priced and we aren’t hungry at the end, I haven’t had to cook and wash up, that’s good enough. Consequently, Cae Morgan was a delightful surprise. The building is attractive, there’s a good vibe, comfortable but not homely, with interesting art on the walls. The tables are nicely spread. Service was good quality, Val was attentive and friendly. Beverley, the owner, was completely unpretentious but knew her food and wines. I don’t take photos of my meals, but I wish I had of this one. The Tasting Menu with accompanying wines was a real pleasure. There was a great selection of fish and meats, portions were just right, not microscopic but not over filling. It felt like a banquet. We were “in for a penny’ as it was Valentine’s Day and I wasn’t paying so I don’t know the price! I came away feeling very satisfied with only compliments to pay. Can’t wait for the next special occasion to return. In my seven years in West Wales, this is definitely my best eating experience.

Went to a private birthday party at Caemorgan, last night. We had the place to ourselves. Service was very attentive and we all had the taster menue, which was excellent. Nice cosy house party atmosphere, helped along by a blazing log fire. A good night was had by all!

The taster menu which you are running throughout December is not only excellent and delicious but very good value for money. We also opted for the wine taster menu which made the meal a fun experience to try a different glass of wine with each course, wines which we probably wouldn’t normally try. Thank you for a lovely evening.

I don't know whether we were just unlucky and this was an 'off' day. On arrival we noticed the grounds looked neglected which on a lovely summers evening was a real shame. We were served drinks in the bar area but did not feel that we could relax as we have two staff members standing close to us watching us have our drinks. The food was average but for the prices charged it was disappointing. The white wine was served warm, the duck was tough and the steak no better than you would get in a good bar meal. To top it off one of our party ordered a cheese board but some additional cheese biscuits were asked for to finish the cheese and they charged us an extra for 4 biscuits.

The place is nice and spotlessly clean and we were made welcome by the friendly proprietor and waitress as we sat in the small waiting area. We were with my elderly father (86) and he found the 50 minute wait a little too long. We were told that main courses involve a wait if you don't order starters which we didn't but still think 50 minutes is longer than most restaurants. The filet steaks were good quality, the Diane sauce was good but lukewarm. The mushroom was full to the rim with oil (really off putting) and the chips (frozen chips) also tasted of oil. I wondered if the mushroom and chips had been fried in oil that was not quite hot enough? It's a shame - we saw the chef pop out in his car at one point - perhaps there was an issue or he was distracted for some reason - speculation now sorry. I know we could have mentioned these things at the time but the restaurant is small and we didn't really want other diners to hear what we had to say.

We went here for a meal to celebrate our wedding anniversary having read the rave reviews. We were however underwhemed - the restaurant was clean and pretty but lacked atmosphere. There was only one other table occupied which I realise didn't help The waitress was efficient and pleasant but not particularly friendly and she rushed around despite there being only one other table to service. She didn't even open our wine but left it in its bucket which we thought rather odd. The food was mediocre - the starter and dessert were fine but the steak was tough and the sauce very bland. I had expected more and wondered whether the chef was off that night. We had wanted a special evening but instead got one that was simply average. We felt that they were in a hurry to close up and were clearing up as we left despite it being only 9 o'clock. It was a shame and we will not be returning.

A group of 8 of us , who eat out quite regularly, booked a meal here to celebrate a birthday . Very pleasant surroundings & interesting artefacts which the owner was more than happy to tell us about. Small bar area - it was like sitting in someone's front room, but cosy & comfortable . There were a few other couples dining at the same time , but we were conscious of the fact that we may have been noisy ! There was no real atmosphere- maybe some music playing in the background would have helped. The food was mostly good . I Had scallops to start, which were a little pale & not caramelised, Disappointing ivegetables that accompanied the meal-a choice of carrots (they had the strange addition of fennel, which is not to my taste even though I will eat almost anything!) & potatoes . Having seen the excellent reviews I was a little disappointed in the meal, although other members of the party enjoyed theirs. We will probably go back & try it again in the hope that our experience next time will be different.

Visited on a Sunday night. The owner was very welcoming and also helped me sort secure wifi before we had even ordered our first drink. This is a more indulgent dining experience than the Cardigan Brasserie but worth it - the food is stunning. The owner has employed a young chef (19) and we loved the way he was putting flavours together - my scallops with bacon and sage were excellent - my sea bass in a citrus sauce was heavenly. Excellent wine. My partners steak was delicious according to him. Beautiful location with lovely views. For the diners who booked but did not turn up - you missed a great experience. The first night I had a starter of goats cheese and beetroot which was beautiful and the sea bass for main course which was also very well cooked and beautifully presented - the crispy spinach was fabulous, something I've never tried before. Dessert was cheese and biscuits and port. My partner had steak which he said was the best he'd ever had! Second night i had the scallops with a balsamic dressing which were very tasty and mushroom tagliatelle which was equally as tasty. My partner had steak again as he was so impressed with it the night before!! Finished the meal off with a very luscious rice pudding. We were looking forward to the valentines menu; on arrival we were greeted and offered a glass of Proseco. The serving staff were very friendly and helpful. It seemed odd that at 8 o'clock on a Friday evening there was only one other table occupied, once they finished their meal we were the only people in the restaurant. The starters arrived, the scallops were particularly good however that's where the compliments end. Within seconds of the starters being cleared from the table the main courses arrived. It would have been good to have been afforded a little time between courses. The beef Wellington arrived with a sauce which tasted particularly salty .The Wellington itself, although acceptable was nothing special. Of note, the advertised menu in the local paper listed fillet steak and this was not offered on the evening ( Beef Wellington listed instead) The quality of the lamb steak was also questionable. As soon as the main course was finished we were asked for our desert orders, having only been in the restaurant for about 40 minutes we asked for a few minutes. The staff then hovered and made us feel pressured to order. Although as I have already mentioned, the serving staff were very friendly and professional, we were not asked whether we wanted any drinks throughout the meal. We got the feeling, being the only table, that the staff could not wait for us to leave, not the experience we were expecting from such a highly recommended restaurant and at £35 a head not a place I will ever visit again when there are so many other options available.

Was taken by family on our visit to this gorgeous part of the UK. Located down a little country lane a short way from a small village and amongst rolling green hills and only a short distance from the sea. Parking was ample, & secure. We were greeted by a friendly lady who recognized our hostess and asked if she wanted her usual G&T to start. A nice touch. We were sat at a table with a great view of the surrounds and a couple of us strolled outside with a glass of vino to take it all in. Being South African I was pleased to see some Saffa wines on the menu, we started with a Saam Middleburg Chenin which was nicely chilled, not the usual tepid temperature that instantly makes me call for a champagne bucket. A nice change. Later some of us meat eaters had the Klein Rust Pino. Lustrous. There were three or four other tables besides ours, but the ambiance was warm and welcoming. During our meal the owner / chef came out to chat not only with us as he knew our hostess but also the other tables. This is a practice more of these small, owner run places should introduce, it adds depth to the experience and makes the guest feel special the the meal more memorable. I wanted the 16OZ T-bone but my wife ordered the 10 oz Sirloin for me. :( It came as ordered, M/R with chips and Pepper sauce. It was local beef and tasted like it, a really good steak. The rest of the group had a mix of seafood and steaks and foul. Only one minor dissatisfied customer, in our group, one of the fish dishes was a little dry but not bad. Oh and the vegetables were a little al dente for me, I like them like the old boarding house veggies, nice and soft. Again as you will note from my Starch Grading system the chips weren't perfect but were better than most. A grand 7.5 / 10. high praise for me! In addition to this high score is that chips aren't actually on the menu as they have so many other starch options but they will make them if you know the wink. The second of my particularities are the state of the bathrooms. These were clean and as odor free as its possible to be. There were nice little touches in the decor, like the towels that raised their score. I'm sure as in any place the public patronizes there will be people who don't have a great time at this venue, but for me they would be pretty unlucky or hard to please. I'm very particular and I will be back. The place wasn't cheap, it wasn't expensive, but it was value for money. Local, intimate, quaint, charming warm and good grub. Tick.

Once again and only as someone's guest, I was amongst a party of 10 at Caemorgan for a pre-ordered meal. There were no other people eating there. Over the last 8years I have eaten there about 6 times - 5 of which were not out of choice, the menu does not seem to have changed and still the 'chef' cannot cook anything which is half way decent, mostly it is inedible and eaten out of politeness to my host. I do not recommend eating there even though the venue is very nice, it does not compensate for the food.I think the owner / chef - who does not have any catering background, should consider taking a few basic cooking lessons. My fillet of beef that a few of us had was so tough and had been braised according to the waitress was really inedible and some just had to leave it all. If you wish to alter a choice on the menu, like not have veg with your meat and just chips then woe betide that is not allowed as my wife found out one occasion.

This was our second visit this year and we were equally delighted with our meal. This time we took friends whom we had not seen for 2 years and had never dined at Caemorgan before. .I suffer from an allergy to the whole allium family but the proprietor/chef David has never let me down and even goes to the trouble of making a special dish for me which is much appreciated. Our friends choose the scallops dish which they declared to be really good and I choose the lovely fresh and light avocado and orange with my husband choosing the roasted tomato soup which he declared was excellent. Our mains were the wild sea bass and the Welsh chicken breast, all were beautifully cooked and accompaniedby side dishes presented on Welsh slates After all this our friends could not cope with desserts but my husband choose a lovely jelly and I went for a divine yoghurt, cream panna cotta quite the nicest pudding I have had for years if not ever. Please, please keep it on the menu and I cannot wait to have it on our next visit.

The premises are pleasing and the waitress Maried is a positive delight. However the dining experience got worse as it went on.The starter of warm beetroot salad was average and the prawn cocktail drenched in powder not sure if this was paprika or cayenne with cheap tasteless prawns was poor. The main course was eaten independently because my duck was desperately overcooked, re cooked but this time raw, we had to ask for the wine we ordered as this was forgotten too. I was not brave enough to have a pudding my husband did and the rich rice pudding was lovely. The lasting experience was the coffee described as 'tea/coffee and chocolates, this was terrible and dishonest the chocolates was a single ferro rocher. The only explanation for this awful evening ,is maybe that the rugby was on we could hear the TV in the background and the proprietor chef was clearly following this. i would not recommend this place at all.

Service was excellent and I got the impression Beverley would go out of her way to cater for allergies etc. We stayed for our fortieth wedding anniversary and all the food we had the pleasure of eating there was superb and nothing seemed too much trouble. Service was immaculate, have eaten all over the world and Caemorgan is up there with the best. Well worth a visit.

Visited based on Trip Advisor and we were certainly not disappointed! The food is well presented, colourful and full of flavour. We both had three courses, my sirloin steak was probably the best ever, some compliment! The service was faultless, all in all a perfect evening, the highlight of our week in West Wales.

We booked into this 5* B&B to celebrate our anniversary. We specifically chose it because of the fantastic reviews it had received and the problem in those scenarios is that the venue then does not match up to your high expectations. However, this place does, and then some. Our room was spacious and very comfortable finished to a high spec. And then there is the food. Simply first class. Everything is cooked fresh to your order and the staff are very attentive. My advice is to go. You will not be disappointed

Excellent food beautifully presented and complemented by a well-chosen wine list. The scallops were particularly good. If you are in the area and can get a table, don't miss it!

Although we only had breakfast at Caermorgan Mansion, which was excellent, we had a look at restaurant menu and would love to have tried it as' if it was anything like the breakfast, we are sure it would have been superb.

Having stayed at Caemorgan last year our return visit with our daughter and son-in law proved to be as comfortable and enjoyable as we remembered. The attention to detail with regard to the accommodation and food is meticulous. Having spent many holidays in this area of Wales, we never found any where to eat that comes anywhere near the standards of food and wine. Thank you Beverley and David for another wonderful stay and we hope to return again.

Best restaurant in the area. Great food, friendly service, Family run with the help of first rate staff. Best to book. We stayed at the Caemorgan and, due to schedule, unfortunately only ate there on the first night. We found nothing half as good in the other 3 meals we had in Cardigan and New Quay.

stayed at Caemorgan for two nights and enjoyed dinner there both evenings.Crisp white linen; lovely big linen napkins (cannot abide small napkins!)Bottle of dry white wine on our first night; finished it with dinner on evening two.Pretty restaurant; pretty cutlery - easy to hold / use. Big windows overlooking the grounds. Tables spaced well apart aiding privacy.Beverley is an excellent host; David an excellent chef. Very nice couple.Scallops were delicious. They were served with the roes attached. Very tasty. Beautifully presented. (Little too much liquid so many drips between plate and diner!)Sea bass very tasty and the chicken too. Presentation that of other top restaurants we've enjoyed.Too full for dessert!!Very pleasant indeed; substantial and delicious. Open to non-residents. Try it out - you won't be disappointed!

What a superb find, this farmhouse/mansion which has been painstakingly restored by the owners Beverley and David over a period of 4-6 years is certainly worth a stay. The rooms are clean, bright and full of all your requirements, whilst the restaurant is a must to enjoy delicious food, good atmosphere and wines. You must engage the owners in conversation with regard to the history of the farm etc., they are very interesting to listen too. Will certainly return when we have lost a few lbs, ask to see the dogs, they are beautiful

My partner and I are foodie people and like to try out new places. As we drove through the gates and saw the beautiful house at the end, we were already enchanted by its location and the atmosphere as we entered was very relaxed and friendly. The food was beautiful, cooked to a very high standard and satisfied exactly what our foodie desires craved. Beverley and David were exceptional hosts (as well as the lovely waitress) who catered to our every need without hindering the experience. We had scallops to start and I had the duck and my partner the pork. He doesn't usually go for pork but was very happy. I have never experienced duck that well cooked! The best I have ever tasted! I managed to squeeze in a yoghurt pannacotta, which was different to the mainly cream based pannacottas that are usually served. We were also expecting the total to be higher than it actually was, so pleasantly surprised by the price considering the high standard of food and service. Beverley was also very kind to show us to the rooms upstairs (admittedly I am rather nosy and wanted to see how they had refurbished/rebuilt the house). The rooms are done to such a high standard, with stunning en suites! We live within a 3 mile radius and yet we're currently making up excuses to spend a night or two in the house! We felt so welcomed, matched by the beautiful food, stunning view (and lovely sunset!) we were beaming as we left and it's sustained for the whole evening. Will definitely be back and highly recommend both Beverley and David as well as this beautiful establishment. You will not be disappointed and it is unlike any other restaurant/hotel within the area :)

Quality local produce, cooked very well, small exclusive feel to the restaurant. We stayed as guests - and thoroughly recommend that - but if you have your own place locally you can also book for dinner or afternoon tea.

We knew we were in for a fine experience the minute we turned into the drive with the welcoming and twinkling miniature lights showing us the way to the front door of this wonderful mansion house with its spectacular tiled floor in the entrance hall. We were warmly greeted by Beverley and by co-host David who was busy cooking in the kitchen with his staff . The décor of the house is simply stunning and is immaculate with a wonderful four sided wood burner in the restaurant which ensured that we were comfortably warm throughout our visit. The table was beautifully set with its pristine white cloth which does help to add to the atmosphere and is rare to find these days. The menu was imaginative with plenty of choice to suit all tastes in our party of 5. We particularly loved the little side dishes presented with the main course with three separate elements which clearly demonstrated the effort made to provide us with something unique. All this was followed by a fine choice of desserts The 100% empty plates at the end of our meal said it all really. This is truly fine dining and we can't wait to repeat the experience. Many thanks David, Beverley and the very helpful and friendly staff,

This Manor House restaurant is both stylishly grand, but intimate and comfortable. I always feel like I am walking into a gorgeous iced wedding cake when I walk into the building. It is simply LOVELY...All the produce is locally sourced and cooked to order and the menu is constantly changing to reflect the Owner/Chef David's passion and creativity in the kitchen. The front of house service is personal, professional and friendly thanks to owner Beverley's attention to detail. So then - this is a perfect for a gathering of friends, a romantic meal or as an enhancement to a visit to the actual Guesthouse. For those who want gourmet dining on their doorsteps, you will want to come again and again.

When we arrived it was just after 2pm, the time advertised for afternoon tea to begin. However, the dining room was still being cleaned and we had to search for a member of staff to attend us.There was only one member of staff to serve and prepare food! He coped admirably but this really isn't up to scratch. My friend's tea was served in a coffee pot and, therefore, tasted strongly of coffee. Though this was changed when mentioned, with no trouble, it shouldn't have happened in the first place. The food was good, though very unbalanced with 1 finger sandwich of each variety matched with 7 small desserts....a toddler's paradise of food!! What I found really disappointing was the fact that they had 'run out' of scones! At a place that is only open for afternoon tea during the day!!!Also they desperately need some fans for the dining room, it was sweltering in there and we couldn't open the windows due to the smells from the adjacent farm. The surrounding land needs some serious attention as it somewhat ruins the ambiance when looking out of the window on ramshackle outbuildings, old ladders and broken fridges.Plus some classical music cds wouldn't go amiss...afternoon tea accompanied by the mellow sounds of the local radio station, adverts and all....no thanks.

I would give this place no stars if i could as it is worth a zero rating.Pizza was absolutely discusting and tasted really strange, nuggets were so greasy, some of the order was wrong but in edible anyway.Worst takeaway i think we have ever had.Avoid even if you are starving!.
