Great service by very polite staff in Lewis’s today. Was pleased to see they are still taking Covid seriously and wearing masks. I felt very safe shopping there- well done! Also have to say they have the best sourdough of anywhere I know!

I was in this shop today and entriley impressed with the policies in place.very clear signage and polite staff. I was utterly shocked to see a grown man verbally abuse a young member of staff. This so called gentlenan was using expletived and i invading this young ladies personal space. I truly thought he was going to physically attack her. He was asked politley to stop and leave by what i thought was a senior staff member and he continued to be verbally aggressive. The lady with him left . Im shocked to think a so called grown up could behave this way when the shop clearly want to keep everyone safe. All can say is well done to the staff for the professional responses. If he spoke to me like that i would of knocked his head off. I feel for the poor lady who was with him

We went in to look for local produce to go with our evening meal and decided we would do a local cheese boardwith four or five different types. The lady behind the counter refused to cut the amount of cheeses we wanted insisting she could only sell the weights already cut, these were two to three times the size we wnted... what nonsense. We chose to vote with our feet and they lost trade... This isnt how to run a business

I walked in rubbing anti bac gel on to my hands from the bottle hanging on a lanyard around my neck to have the assistant scream 'sanitize'. I held my hands up to show I was rubbing it in, to be screamed at again. I duly used their sanitizer and walked into the shop frantically trying to rub all the excess into my hands, arms, legs etc. I was after some fresh veg, I found overpriced, verging on passed it veg. I accepted this was all I could have and went to pay. I prefer paying in cash, the local butchers and fish mongers will quite happily accept it, but was told 'card only' no explanation, no apologies. Having worked customer service for more years than I care to remember, 'I'm sorry, its card only at the moment' would have been more appropriate. I was warned Cornwall didn't want visitors this year, this shop definitely didn't. I have to say, every other shop I went into in Rock, Polzeath and Wadebridge were very welcoming.

We have been shopping here for years each time we come on holiday to the area and have always found them a bit offhand, but this year was a whole new level. Surely if you are working in the public arena and in fact are reliant on the general public for your business you should at least be welcoming?? We had our shopping thrown into a cardboard box, having paid vastly inflated prices for very normal products, by surly, grumpy staff, who made us feel that everything we asked for was an inconvenience. This shop used to be a little gem, but the product range has definitely gone down hill. I totally appreciate the nervousness and uncertainty surrounding holiday areas this year, but rudeness is not needed. The lady at The Arc Food Store in Wadebridge (Hawksfield) was the complete opposite, lovely, friendly, welcoming and grateful for the business. Her stock is incredible, unusual, great quality and very responsible. We shall be avoiding Lewis's from now on and advice you to do the same.

I always buy things here to take back home when I’m Down as they have the cutest things + chutneys and pickles you can’t get at home.

Lovely deli with a great selection of cheese and bread. Also a well provisioned shop with fresh produce. I didn't try the cakes though they looked good.

Stopped here for a refreshment stop in midst of circular Polzeath to Rock walk. Very nice takeaway coffee and the most delicious yoghurt topped fruity granola flapjack - gave us the energy to finish the last few miles of our walk

I like Lewis's. It has a good selection of basic foodstuffs but also more artisan products and a very good cheese counter where many Cornish cheeses can be purchased. I would still use the Rock bakery for bread and the Spar for other items but when those are closed, Lewis's offers a good back-up and as I say, has many deli items not available elsewhere. Staff are always friendly and helpful.

We didn't take advantage of the coffee shop, however, we bought some groceries in here and I can honestly say the staff we dealt with (we visited several times in one week) were the friendliest of any we've ever come across. Not only is this suprising to find anywhere these days, it is always especially unusual when you are out-of-towners. I can wholeheartedly recommend.

The staff are rude an insulting and the coffee tastes rubbish for the price - go to the bakery next door to get a better all round experience.

Rock is a small town on the coast of Cornwall with public parking and plenty of shops. Lewis's is a small cafe set in a shop/delicatessen. It serves a range of beverages and cakes. The service is friendly and the prices are modest. A good place for refreshments in this busy town/hamlet.

Close to the beach but wildly overpriced for really basic fare and their “artisan gelato” is disgusting. We tried three flavours and they were all terrible, but the chocolate was so atrocious we couldn’t finish it. Ask yourself when the last time you didn’t finish an ice cream was!

On holiday for a week and we visited 3 times. First time was for a drink only, second for an evening meal and thenthirdnfir Sunday lunch. On all occasions, service was friendly, attentive (without being in your face or false) and courteous. Our evening meal was a beautiful piece of grilled haddock in a very tasty sauce with vegetables and potatoes. We also ordered a side of truffled mac n cheese. It was absolutely amazing. Sunday lunch was probably the best I've ever eaten as a pub dining experience and I've eaten a fair few in my 59 years. We opted for the 3 meat version of beef, pork and turkey. The vegetable selection was interesting and perfectly cooked. The giant yorkshire pudding was delicious but for me, the roast potatoes and gravy were the jewels in the very large crown. There was no room for pudding but on our evening visit, we did share the amaretto chocolate torte, which was fantastic 😀. For the quality and portion sizes, I would say The Pityme Inn is excellent value for money.

The staff were very friendly. The hot drinks were alright and the cakes were alright. They didn't rush us. The whole atmosphere was really nice and lovely. I didn't have to raise my voice to speak to my boyfriend who has a hearing impairment which is a hearing aid.
