Leverton and Halls in Birmingham

Not as good as it used to be. Vegetarian breakfast was meagre. The description on menu sounded lovely but sadly the spinach and roasted tomatoes were miniscule. My sister had the lasagna with salad and the salad was literally a few salad leaves a piece of cucumber and tiny chopped pepper.

We had a great English breakfast including lovely doorstep toast! Lovely food, served hot, in relaxed surroundings and with friendly staff. Good menu catering for everyone including vegan choices.

We had a lovely burger lunch here today. Good value and excellent quality food. Good flavours and well cooked. We would highly recommend.

Have been here many times but this was a disappointing visit The cafe was really cold throughout our stay.Ordered a ham and cheese sandwich which was excellent but the side salad was pretty meagre and swamped in vinegar and oil. I also noticed that the choices on the menu have been reduced considerably I did raise this with the waitress who was very pleasant who said she would inform the manager. Sadly won't be hurrying back

Under new management… very disappointed. We had to complain twice. The food was cold & bland. Not the same lovely bread, just ‘shop bought’. The menu has changed with little choice & expensive. No vegetarian alternatives available. We have loved this place for many years but unlikely to return unless it improves.

Standards have gone down since before lockdown and so disappointed the Secret Garden is no longer a blaze of flowers

Unfortunately food tasted as though it had been fried in oil that had not been changed for a long time and tasted and smelled of over use, croissant was not fresh either and was steaming and collapsed when it came to the table as though it had been thrown in the microwave, felt it was overpriced and not good value for money, the woman who owns it needs to learn some basic customer service, will not be returning again.

Coffee okay, cake.... Not great. If in the area there are much better places to enjoy a coffee and cake. Customer service a bit brash. Local to area but won't visit again.

Great selection on menu. Had the breakfast. Good quality produce, nicely presented and cooked to perfection. Service from staff was professional and efficient, and had time for a nice chat afterwards with waitress. Very pleasant experience and will definitely visit again.

Thought this would be a nice new place to try however won’t be returning. Coffee was meh and was served what tasted and looked like an unfresh nuked croissant . It had a horrible after taste .. was steaming and was clearly half the size it should have been due to being thrown in a microwave. Service was not good by gentlemen who hurled food down on table so didn’t feel like challenging in such a tiny overcrowded venue where everyone can hear your conversation, felt so uncomfortable couldn’t wait to leave.

Called in breakfast. The establishment was very austere. No pictures on the walls with the cash register placed in the centre of the dining area. The rear dining area was noisy due to the washing up of dishes. We ventured out into the garden dining facility, which is part storage area. We were confronted by an old bath tub with a solitary goldfish swimming in filthy water. Will not be going back.

Stayed here for one night, lovely cosy and clean room with a big tv and comfy beds. Only downside was very poor wifi signal which didn’t reach much further than the door but wasn’t a huge issue for us as we were only there one night. Did a self check in with door codes so completely covid safe and a very delicious free breakfast in the morning, would recommend!

On a rainy day I ducked into the small cafe on the corner of the street. What I didn't expect was the warm, welcoming space I would find within. The staff were lovely and welcoming, the food was delicious and every corner of the room radiated comfort. Not only this, but there is many varying places to sit: if you want to stay in the warm, you can sit inside, however if you want a seat in the open air; you can sit outside the shop or in the garden at the back. Now, I must talk about the food: the food is not fancy, but simple and comforting as all cafe food should be. I would especially suggest the breakfast bap. Finally, the service was amazing with the food arriving barely 5 minutes after we ordered. I would suggest this cafe to anyone, whether you want food or drink. Excellent.

We stayed here as a base for getting train into birmingham and then a trip to Cadbury world the next day. What a lovely little place. Comfy beds, everything you need in the room, plenty of tea coffee and hot chocolate and full English breakfast the following morning was gorgeous. Manager let us check in early due to it having been quiet as it was during the week. This was a bonus after a long-Ish drive from up north and being keen to hit the shops in Birmingham. Certainly nothing to complain about. Would highly recommend.

I have visited this establishment throughout lockdown with family and friends and food had always been excellent. I can only assume that the chef was on sick leave today!! Shocking food and service not much better .

Difficult visit since lifting of restrictions. Waitress found it difficult to take order for six people. Got bread mixed up on sandwich order but was abruptly told by the manager that it was not on the order and we should have ordered correctly. Very rude response. Manager did not consider that it was ordered correctly but mistake occurred because waitress had not taken down order correctly. Post lifting of restrictions it was very disappointing to see no hand sanitizer on tables and young waiters walking round with masks on chin especially when elderly relatives in party.

The manager was rude the moment we entered the door, took forever to bring menus and just spoke rudely. Ordered coffee, the coffees were fine but the quality of the coffee they're using isn't great. Also way over priced for the quality of the food. I wouldn't have left this review if the manager had been a bit more open to feedback but honestly, was awful. We were unable to get anyone to come over, no one asked us how our food was and then she tries to say, "You should have told us during the meal." It helps if your staff actually check the food is okay. We tried to get attention but in the end we got up and went to the desk. I was hungry and only had a limited time to find somewhere else to grab some food cause no way was I risking it with another meal here (it was THAT bad). It's basic customer service to ask people how their meal is after you serve it. It arrived burnt as well and they'd already said that was the last portion left so knew there was no point sending it back but why should I have to defend myself as a customer? You literally served me horrible, burnt food for over £7 and then argue with me. Instead of apologising and saying "I appreciate your feedback." Clearly, there are issues if you look at the other reviews dotted throughout. The other meal wasn't much better, really dry and hardly any flavour. Again overpriced for what it is. Are you too tight to put a drizzle of olive oil over a dish? The whole thing would have made Gordon Ramsey cry. I honestly didn't know you could mess up such simple dishes.

The burgers are amazing value and top quality and the wings really are the best I’ve had, these guys for me are number 1 I’ve had ,.. keep up the work

Hamburguesas fabulosas, dos veganas y un pescado, muy sustanciosas y sabrosas, ¡fue realmente agradable comer algo tan bueno que no habíamos cocinado nosotros! I ordered 2 burgers to be delivered and they were fantastic! Very tasty, loads of meat and nice and warm. Chips were good too. Will order again!!

I decided to use the collection service and ordered a burger which was beautifully prepared, hot and delicious. The service was very nice as well. Would definitely recommend ordering from here. You will not be disappointed!

Durante el encierro, decidimos tomar una comida para llevar de aquí. Actualmente sirven un menú de hamburguesas y acompañamientos los jueves, viernes y sábados entre las 5 pm y las 9 pm. Probamos la hamburguesa de ternera y la hamburguesa de pescado, además de papas fritas y queso macarrones. Todo era de muy alta calidad, comida caliente recién preparada y se nos sirvió sin contacto. Todos disfrutamos mucho de la comida, estaba deliciosa y volveremos.

Our breakfast was a combination of overcooked egg, cold and undercooked toast, cold mushrooms, Luke warm coffee and bacon that was beyond salty.

Great breakfast! My son also had the veggie breakfast which he really enjoyed. The cappuccinos where perfect too, will definitely visit again.

Have been here many many times for a breakfast dont think I’ll be going back for a while my bacon sausage was overcooked mushrooms were cold so was my black pudding 🙁

Well worth a visit. We were staying in the area and needed some lunch. The food was excellent and the service good. One of my friends is a vegetarian, she was impressed not just by the quality, also the range of vegetarian options.

We regularly have breakfast or lunch here. Good choice of food with veggie and vegan options and friendly and helpful staff. Would highly recommend it.

In Northfield visiting in-laws for weekend is and wanted brunch. Sourced on Trip. Sunny day with delightful rear garden dining. Great service and tasty scran. So good we returned on Sunday!

Entramos en esta cafetería pintoresca y bien decorada y nos dijeron que tomáramos un asiento y que nuestros menús nos serían traídos rápidamente. Decidimos sentarnos en el pequeño y encantador jardín, que teníamos para nosotros, ya que no estaba demasiado ocupado, donde estábamos rodeados de plantas en macetas y flores coloridas.

Stopped off for breakfast on a sunny, warm June morning. Pleasant garden at the rear packed with flowering plants. Reliably good English breakfast and tasty looking cakes.

Food itself was wonderful but there are major service issues! Repeatedly tried to find out where my order had gotten to, only to be ignored and avoided. When I finally managed to stop someone to get some help, it took another 25 minutes for a cup of tea. Not only this, but everyone employed there seems overwrought, unhappy and tense towards their management, which makes the atmosphere uncomfortable.

Productos de buena calidad y bien cocinados, también con mucha variedad para elegir. Los únicos inconvenientes fueron los escalones empinados que subían a la habitación, ya que había que recordar los números de código para desbloquear las puertas y la habitación de la parte delantera tenía bastante ruido de tráfico. Pero diciendo que si estuviera en el área de nuevo definitivamente regresaría. Buena relación calidad-precio cama y desayuno.

Great little cafe stumbled upon by chance, were close to closing but still made us feel very welcome and supplied us with some wonderful pea soup, drinks and cake, which was home baked and amazing.

With a rare midweek day off I decided to visit for a bite to eat. Had the veggie breakfast. Fresh, delicious food which was perfectly cooked. Lovely little pot of tea as well. I’d come here a few times a week if I could! Highly recommend!

Había una camarera y otra señora que servían platos en la sala de entrada y ninguna de ellas se tomó un segundo para darme la bienvenida o preguntarme cuántas personas éramos, tuve que acercarme a ellas y preguntarles si podía sentarme en una mesa específica. Luego, tuve que esperar unos 5 minutos para obtener un menú, así que me preguntaba si debería levantarme, buscarles un pedido. La mesa donde me senté tenía algunas tazas de café, así que una señora vino a recogerlas, pero nunca volvió a limpiar la mesa para nosotros. Entiendo que deben estar ocupados ya que es un lugar popular, pero tal vez sea mejor obtener más ayuda. Es la tercera vez que vengo y siento la misma falta de servicio al cliente.

Stayed overnight in the double room. Lovely sized room and decorated as shown in the pictures. Was contacted by the owner before travel and all access derails provided. Loved the fact there was fresh milk for an assortment of teas and water in the mini fridge. No rush to get down to breakfast which was included. The veggie breakfast was different and great. They catered for my gluten free and dairy free needs too. The room was lovely warm and clean. Enjoyed our stay.

Nos alojamos por dos noches, pedí la habitación grande y me dijeron que podíamos tenerla antes de llegar. A su llegada fue asignada a otra persona y no nos avisaron. La habitación estaba bien en la parte trasera de la propiedad y era muy tranquila. Las sábanas estaban apiladas y un poco ásperas y había una buena colección de telarañas en el baño, las iba a limpiar y luego leí una reseña de la reserva punto com de unos días antes y las señalaron también, así que me fui ellos. Se lo dije a un miembro del personal, pero no sé si se transmitió a los propietarios que eran personas agradables. La ducha era buena, pero tenga en cuenta que cuando el café cierra a las 3 pm, es poco probable que obtenga agua caliente, se agotó casi inmediatamente después de comenzar a ducharse. Los propietarios indican que está en el estacionamiento de la calle, pero ten en cuenta que está muy lleno de gente, creo que lo más cerca que llegamos a un parque fue a 300 metros en otra calle. Los propietarios también indican que hay escaleras a las habitaciones. La escalera es lo suficientemente ancha pero es bastante empinada y los escalones reales no son muy profundos. Tuvimos 2 cajas con aproximadamente 25 kilos en cada una y llevarlas arriba y abajo fue una experiencia interesante. Lo bueno es que tienes un fantástico desayuno allí y el personal es amable. En general, fue una experiencia razonable, pero las personas deben ser conscientes del problema del estacionamiento y las escaleras.

Los códigos de las puertas me fueron enviados por adelantado. Avisé a Dee y Paul sobre nuestra llegada tardía, esto no fue un problema. Pudimos dejar nuestra maleta con ellos bastante temprano, para dejarlos en nuestra habitación, ya que era el día de nuestra boda. Nos alojamos en la habitación verde, que estaba muy bien y decorada con buen gusto. Estaba impecable y tenía todo lo que pudieras necesitar. . Incluyendo una nevera para relajar nuestro champagne! ! La cama era muy cómoda y muy espaciosa, al igual que la habitación. Definitivamente lo recomendaría! !

I swear by this cafe and go as often as I can and recommend it to all. The vegetarian food is great. The garden is beautiful and won an award from the Bournville Village Trust. They also sell good food to take away and you can take away most menu items too. However I know people who refuse to go because of the way they have been treated before. The owners are super friendly and polite (even when rushed and clearly busy). But they have some younger staff who act like they wish you weren't there and sometimes actually glare at you when you walk in. Ignore those people and you'll be fine.

Love coming here for a unique vegi breakfast with family, they also do great lunches...the vegetarian lasagne is a must! Would definitely recommend!

First time we visited this place - was quite busy as a very rainy Sunday - the staff were pleasant (Becky) and efficient. Food -we had a full English breakfast-was well cooked tasty & hot. Food was competitively priced.

What a great little B & B. Dee emailed us with all the details we needed as we were arriving after the Cafe and Deli had shut.

I have used the cafe for the last year for breakfast or lunch and the food, service and overall experience was fantastic. During a recent lunchtime visit the food was again excellent but the service was appalling. We couldn't get an order placed, the order didn't arrive together, cutlery and serviettes were missing and it was difficult to settle the bill. I noticed other customers were having identical problems and friends have encountered similar issues recently.

Fantastic as always ...best place I know for breakfast on a sunny day ,as the secret Garden is lovely ....the food is always great I had the full breakfast ...which is a little expensive ...but the quality is first rate ...so I have no complaint about it really ....always a favourite venue ...

Great food - great service and great owners. We've been there several times and really enjoyed each experience. The back garden is really special.

Four of us went for lunch and we all really enjoyed our food. We would recommend the Lamb curry, Veggie Bap, Mushrooms on Rye and Meat Lasagna. Service was good and staff were friendly.

We have stopped going to this place having given them every opportunity to improve their attitude. There is an air of misery about the place. Food however, quite good.

We had a nice lunch date here at one of our locals. We were particularly impressed by the vegetarian bent of the specials. The normal menu was a bit dull however. Good coffee.

This is a great cafe to have lunch in. The staff were friendly, the food choice on the menu was great and all freshly prepared. In particular the Gluten Free options were very welcome The cafe was constantly busy so whilst you were possibly waiting a little longer than normal, it was well worth it.

We ate here as a large private booking for our christmas meal. The food was beautiful with generous portions and tasted really fresh. The service was super with really friendly staff. We hope they will host us again :-)

Lovely b&b; s listed building , large room with big bay window(room1) it's decorated beautifully with vintage pieces. Small fridge tea/ coffee making facilities. Lovely spotless room and bathroom . Really good wifi signal... Goid size Flatscreen TV with Netflix etc on remote . Few minutes from Cadbury world and short stroll into bournville village. Was to snowy and cold to walk far on our visit . Very cute area b&b; is small establishment only 3 rooms with cafe underneath for breakfast, with choice of freshly cooked food, yum . Would highly recommend!

I read reviews about this place and so thought it would be good but the truth is that it was disappointing.

Nuestra familia estaba en la ruta de Londres a través de la Mundo y buscó un sitio cadburys para tomar un poco rápido, pero si el brunch de antemano. Encontramos este lugar, y nos alegramos de haberlo hecho, 3 inglés y un niños salchichas, tostadas...

Gran lugar. Los desayunos son increíbles. Me encanta el inglés completo. (vegetariano es igualmente fantástico si te sientes bien). . . Café de primera categoría.

Even though I live 20 minutes away I have visited this place quite a few times. The food and coffee...

Estado aquí 4 veces en los últimos 2 semanas y tengo que decir que la comida es excelente, pero hoy me quedé muy decepcionado con mis socios y mis bocadillos. Yo tenía una salchicha y tocino sándwich y mi compañero tenía tocino y tomate, exactamente igual que lo que tuvimos el sábado. El pan se corta muy gruesas, así que necesitas una buena cantidad de llenado, pero en esta ocasión tuve dos pequeñas salchichas y 1 porción muy pequeña de tocino, básicamente lo suficiente abundante para la mitad de un sándwich y mi pareja sólo tenía 2 rebanadas de tocino muy pequeño y un poco de tomate. Nada comparado con los sándwiches el sábado que estamos apisonada con tocino.

Me encanta este pequeño café independientes. Gran casa de comida casera y personal amable. Me encanta el desayuno vegetariano. Tan fresco y no pesado. Yo podía comer todos los días! Amor que mostraban el arte local y que puedes comprar la comida que he probado para llevar. No estaba seguro de si deja un comentario ya no quiero demasiada gente sobre este lugar, ya que entonces no podremos conseguir una mesa!

Recomendado como un lugar para ir a almorzar y tan contentos que nos fuimos. Tenía el desayuno durante todo el día, que era excelente. Buena relación calidad-precio, comida deliciosa y un servicio agradable. Si alguna vez en la zona de nuevo yo no se busca en ningún otro sitio.

This little cafe is rather off the beaten track and took us a while to find but I am so glad we persevered. What a smashing place with hearty food, a warm friendly atmosphere and cheery, unobtrusive background music. I felt so comfortable here and did not want to leave. The lady from Trinidad who served us was so lovely I wanted her as my new best friend! Though the dish we hoped to have had run out, there were plenty of great alternatives and this has to be by far the nicest place to eat in Bournville.May they continue to go from strength to strength and I look forward to visiting again when next in.the city.

How can I have lived in brum all these years and never found you! OMG was taken to this delightful restaurant for breakfast today. My friend and I ordered the vegan breakfast except I wanted to amend the order and have the fab sausages and bacon minus the eggs tomatoes and mushrooms. My friend wanted similar changes with gluten free bread. Nothing and I mean nothing was too much trouble! Service was great and my veg breakfast came with dhal almost as good as that prepared my my Asian friends! I'm afraid I'm hooked. And yes "I'll be back" well done

On a visit to Cadbury World we wanted to avoid the greasy and somewhat overpriced offerings at their cafe and decided to go for a wander around the historic local area. After a short trip advisor search we decided to pop along to this local cafe for a spot of lunch and wow, were we not disappointed.

Es el trabajo de la cocina y no el cliente a elegir la ensalada que pasado su uso. Muy aventurado y sosa ensalada para arrancar. L&H; se ha convertido en un éxito y se pierda de tarde. El servicio nunca ha brillaron pero en nuestra última visita me estaba comenzando a sentir que llevaba vestido de Harry Potter. Se necesita para calcetines - Café de residencia no parece tan de moda pero el servicio, la comida y la presentación es mostrando L&H.; Sólo que se han perdido nuestro encargo.

Nos encanta este lugar. La mayoría de los sábados una visita a comer el desayuno deja felices con la comida y servicio amable. Buen menú. Bonito edificio con un hermoso jardín.

We were visiting Cadbury World and decided we'd like to eat somewhere other than there, a little Google research found us this little gem. We were a family of 6 from old to young and we all loved it. The staff were very warm and welcoming, made every effort to seat us together and considering they were closing early that day for maintenance did not rush us at all. We had a variety of dishes and all were nicely cooked/made and presented, and each if us were impressed with our choice. Will definitely pop in again when in the area.

Came up from Herefordshire and wanted to meet a family member (coming up from London!). Looked on tripadvisor and trusted the reviews for Leverton and Halls. Wow, how right everyone is - such a delightful coffee shop and such welcoming staff. Such a wide selection of quality food (absolutely delicious) in a relaxed environment (such a peaceful garden as well). Will definitely be back again with our family as we will be visiting Cadbury's World over the next month.

We popped in for lunch this aftenoon before heading to cadburys world, discovering this cafe through the wonders of trip advisor. We were not disappointed! Beautiful food, very generous portions and great menu! While waiting for the rest of the family we saw how popular it was! Take away and dining in, the place was buzzing with activity, many unfortunately couldn't find a seat but I was explained there was an outside seating area so none were disappointed. Glad we reserved a table!Would recommend to anyone, including children. Very good find - especially if your visiting cadburys world which is 1 minute up the same road!

I visit Levertons with my work colleagues around 4 times a year. We like to visit after finishing work for the semester so that we can have a chat and relax. The staff are always friendly and happy to help or explain the menu choices. The specials board is always interesting and never disappoints us. We are fans of cake and Levertons never fails to deliver excellent cake. A good selection that is well made and tastes great! We visited recently and they appear to have had a slight refurb. It's made an already welcoming place more inviting and pleasant to spend time in. We will continue to visit no doubt!

I had my first to this cafe today, very good service and a lovely menu which caters nicely for the vegetarian diet too. Also had highchairs available for my little one, which is always a bonus. :) I like that they sell a range of produce aswell as the usual menu.Will definitely be going again.

The menu offers a wide variety, and the area is clean. The staff however were not the most attentive or cheery.

Great place for a relaxing meal and a catch up with friends. Small cafe with lots of atmosphere. When we visited today we had a short wait for a table, but worth the wait and staff were apologetic. Great range of well cooked food ( amazing brunch !!) with lots of information about community events available. Worth a visit.

Still a sure value.. Would be great to see more rotation in the special meals ;-) Great with the kids

I visited this deli with a friend earlier today, we were looking for somewhere to have a coffee and get some work done as we are students at the University of Birmingham, just down the road. The place looked lovely and we were enjoying a coffee when we were rudely asked to move to the cramped bar as we were not dining customers. Without asking politely whether we were planning to have lunch there (which we would have done, the food looked so good!), the waitress obviously assumed that, as we looked younger we would not be eating and did not deserve the niceties that she showed other, older and clearly more valued customers. We were a bit shocked and decided to leave, she watched as we paid and left, no 'thank you' or 'goodbye'. She was patronising and condescending, perhaps we're not the demographic that you're looking for but we would have definitely returned and recommended this place to our friends and due to your poor customer service and generally horrible treatment of us, we won't be. PS. the other staff members were lovely, we only had a bad experience with the middle-aged female waitress.

This cafe and shop sells organic foods and imaginative meals. The cafe is open for breakfast and lunch, is always busy (in my experience), and is excellent value for money. The shop sells organic veg and other interesting items, more expensive than the cafe, but great for gifts.

I really enjoy visiting Leverton and Halls. The cafe is small and sometimes you may have to wait/squeeze in next to others. That said it has a really good atmosphere and community feel. The specials board provides lots of options and the cafe is good at catering for vegetarians. Staff are friendly and food is good and served quickly. I've had some really tasty dishes here from burgers to curries. Makes a good weekend brunch stop and would recommend.

Live locally but have rarely been here. Wife and I tried on a Saturday morning. It was busy but we were able to get a table. Extensive menu of very appetizing food. We had breakfast really - a bacon, egg and sausage sandwich and pancakes. Both were fresh and delicious. Service was friendly and the environment is comfortable. It was a relaxing place to have a conversation over food. Hopefully will be back soon!

Frequently visit this lovely cafe as there is a wonderful selection of vegetarian and non vegetarian options which are always delicious. Have almost worked my way through the menu now and have never been disappointed. Leverton and Halls is a lovely place to pop in to get a coffee and a piece of cake or a samosa to go. A nice selection of organic vegetables for sale too and other interesting items for sale. The service provided by the staff is consistently high, they are always so friendly and welcoming and even when rushed off their feet at peak times, they are always polite and patient when taking an order and they are always attentive to the customer. Have also enjoyed in the summer months eating outside in the beautiful garden which is stunning but also enjoy dining inside the cafe which has a lovely relaxed and cosy atmosphere. A lovely place to go for breakfast or lunch highly recommend and particularly good for vegetarians a very good selection of lovely generous meals.

Visited after a trip to BCU for an open day. This delightfully individual cafe held such promise! My breakfast sandwich was good (although it's difficult to go wrong there really!), however the cheese on toast was insanely overpriced for what it was. Regrettably, it was also clearly grilled to the point where the verse melted and the crusts burned, but the bread was not at all toasted underneath. I ordered pancakes to share in an attempt to rectify the situation, sadly there was some miscommunication and we were given two separate dishes! The pancakes were tasty, but undercooked (they were thick so still quite raw in the middle). When it came to paying the staff only seemed to have the pancakes noted down, but we informed them of our other items and drinks as not to pay would be awful, even if the food was a little disappointing...

We called in on recommendation. Small place with a few tables. Limited menu but food was good at a reasonable price. Service with a smile.Not overly exciting - ok for a quick snack.

the all day breakfast was delicious and the coffee was also excellent. hosts Dee and Paul were welcoming and friendly and the whole atmosphere was like a large family kitchen full of extended family and friends. as much a place to meet and catch up on local happenings as a haunt for delicious food, cakes and coffee. not to be missed.

Good food, friendly service and well priced. It is a small cafe though so I recommend reserving ahead.

Popped in with the kids for breakfast and was very pleasantly surprised at this charming little place. Nice atmosphere - has a small family run feel but the quality and choice of a larger run establishment. We were all very happy and if I was local, I would definitely stop by again.

Very clean, well laid out place with a good choice on the menu and friendly staff. Really enjoyed the poached eggs on rye. My first visit here but would definitely come back.

One of these will see you through till dinner time.Not cheap but very tasty on brown bread. Good tea in pot to go with it.

Second visit and I was a tad disappointed with the soup I ordered which was spicy parsnip - it was not so much spicy as peppery and for myself and my friend who ordered the same far too peppery. Also the soup was rather on the thick side which I did not mind so much but was something my friend commented on. On the plus side the bread was very nice and they used real butter . The staff were very friendly and the cafe itself very pleasent - I enjoyed the artwork on the walls.

We don't pop in as often as we'd like and I only work across the road! But every time we've been in either for a coffee, cake or lunch the food and service has always been excellent! James

Just cannot fault this place. It is really just a café but food and service are consistently well above average. At this time of year the garden is a little oasis of loveliness. Our favourite local place for a tasty breakfast or lunch.
