Extremely concerned about the possible exploitation of staff at this restaurant. We were asked if we would like to tip the wait staff when paying the bill. I pointed out a discretionary service charge had already been automatically added and included in the total. The waitress then said that this money does not actually go to the staff and that the restaurant management are keeping the service charge paid by diners. This is illegal in the UK as of the 1st October 2024. If you must dine here, make sure you have the service charge removed from the bill and tip the wait staff separately if you want to.

The hot pot pork is delicious. There’s no way you’d finish the hot pot with two people.

The Xiao Long Bao here is absolutely divine—delicately crafted with a flavorful, rich broth inside that bursts with every bite. Every other dish we ordered was equally delightful, especially the braised pork belly, which was incredibly tender and infused with the most aromatic and comforting spices. While I can’t quite remember the exact name of the dish, the flavors were truly memorable. The overall experience was satisfying and heartwarming—perfect for anyone craving comforting, authentic flavors in a cozy and welcoming setting.

Very good value for money. Service much better than most of Chinatown. A good mixture of interesting dishes, and a nicely designed interior.

I recently visited this restaurant today for the dim sum buffet, and while the food was absolutely amazing – fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented – the service, unfortunately, left a lot to be desired. As it was our first time dining here, we weren’t sure about the ordering process for the second round of dim sum. We politely asked a staff member (a lady with glasses and a ponytail) whether we should use the same order sheet, but her response was dismissive and rude. She made us feel uncomfortable for simply asking a question, and her attitude throughout the service was unprofessional and unwelcoming. Towards the end of our meal, we inquired about whether the service charge was optional – something we had clarified via email before making the reservation and purchasing our vouchers. Her reaction was completely inappropriate and condescending, implying that we were trying to avoid paying, which was not the case at all. We were simply checking, as advised. It’s a shame because the food really was excellent, but the poor service significantly took away from the overall experience. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and provides better training for their staff in customer service.

Yes, it may be a little more expensive than elsewhere. But it was also good all around. The last time I ate such good dumplings was in Shanghai.

If you are interested in trying different types of dumpings, I would recommend this place. All dumplings are steamed and served in the basket. I had the meal course, which is the 3-2-1 concept, including a drink.

An absolute must! We took part in the unlimited dim sum lunch and it was fantastic! We had so much fun picking different dishes to try and everything we had was delicious and flavourful!

We had a fantastic meal here. We shared the black pepper beef, aubergine and potato and a fried rice and all were pipping hot and served promptly. The staff were all really nice. Highly recommended...

We went to Leong's for the Time Out bottomless dimsum deal. There is endless choice of of dumplings and buns, steamed and grilled, veggie, meat fish. They arrived at our table very quickly. All were delicious. The deal came with a choice of any free drink. Beautiful restaurant and lovely ambience. Very kind servers. Absolutely recommend!

Shoe hored us in when we had prebooked. The food was good, but my meal was late and wrong. Might of just caught them in a bad day.

I wish they had proper seating instead of low backless wooden stools! With the dim sum Timeout deals, you have to order the initial 6 dishes between 2 people simultaneously, which can result in some of the food getting cold if you do not rush eating.

worst experience. food was not great, rice was stale and burnt. staff was so rude not sure if it’s because we was black. THEN as we’re about to leave the staff insisted we paid service charge as if there was no option not too. deffo will report back to time out.

Honestly the food was authentic, tasty and memorable. We were there on Chinese new year and it was still very welcoming. We queued for a short time and then enjoyed our feast. We were greeted by the Chinese dragon dancers midway as part of the celebrations. Really recommend it. As it highlights their ability to still maintain great food even at the busiest periods. Enjoy the big noodle soup paired with lots of dim sums and bits you enjoy.

We ate here recently and had the bottomless dim sum! Absolutely unbelievable value for money and a brilliant concept; 1st order x3 dishes, 2nd order x2 dishes & 3rd order x1 dish. Couldn’t even finished the 2nd order of food but it was so tasty! Would highly recommend the chicken/pork Xiao Long Bao’s, the Sichuan style pork buns & the stir fried chicken noodles! The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was buzzing inside for a Wednesday night! We were so hungry I forgot to take photos but you won’t regret giving this place a visit if you’re in the area!

Been going for years and loved it. However they have now started asking for tips ON TOP OF THE SERVICE CHARGE when they hand you the card machine. Really gutting as I loved this place but that is overwhelmingly greedy and poor form.

Very authentic Taiwanese street food, brought me back to my days in Taiwan. The oyster omelette was spot on, and glutinous rice with minced pork is a treat. If you don’t like beef noodle soup, try the stir fried beef noodle with sacha sauce. It’s the dry cousin version of the soup with more savory notes and chewy fried noodles. I will definitely come back again

We went here for my birthday and had an all you can eat voucher through Time Out. The staff were very warm and friendly and talked us through how to order and were happy to give recommendations. Different style of Chinese dishes from the other standard touristy ones along the Chinatown strip. Dumplings, quick fried beef, noodles and fried rice were all delicious. A bit pricey but a better standard than other places nearby so worth it if within your budget.

Bustling and atmospheric and offering something different to the mainstream Cantonese fare. Delicious dumplings, rice fragrant with pandan, and great Taiwanese specialities.

My family and I had the £24 bottomless dim sum (available on Time Out) and really enjoyed it!! Each dish was delicious!! And you get to choose from more than 30 dim sum dishes, including lots of 🌿 vegetarian options so there’s a choice for everyone! 👫 The service was very good, especially considering that there were 10 of us ordering a feast with many courses and yelling in Italian any time a dish would come ahah

Came here for the TimeOut unlimited dimsum lunch offer on a Thursday afternoon. The space is quite cosy. Food is good quality and staff are polite. Would go again!

Booked via TimeOut for the bottomless dimsum with Prosecco. They actually have a whole drinks menu to choose your drink from so we opted for wine instead. Food was so tasty and fresh, highly recommend the spicy pork xiao long bao, the spicy duck dumplings and the crystal prawn dumplings. Service was ok. Items are brought out quickly, we didn’t feel rushed to leave either. I’d definitely recommend it with the timeout deal

Incredibly average food, I found it to completely lack flavour. For the high prices I would have expected far better. I would recommend trying somewhere else.

Great dim sum first time this Filipina had tried dim sum as they don’t have them in Philippines and she loved them. Well worth the 10 hour flight from Manila.

I came here as part of the ‘time out bottomless deal’ and all in all I think it’s worth it and would recommend it. The service was fast and pleasant. We did 3 rounds (3 plates each, 2 plates each, 1 plate each) and we were left stuffed! The food is nice but nothing amazing.

Good Chinese Dim Sum in Chinatown.

Had a wonderful meal on the Time Out deal here. The service is very relaxed and the staff are friendly. Food is excellent and came out efficiently before we went to go and see a movie. Would come here again! Thank you!

Went early (around 5) after a matinee theatre show and got a table for 2 immediately. Got very busy by 6 with most people booked or having to wait in a long queue. We had set meal for 2 with soup and duck for starter and hot shared starter for 2. Really tasty and as others have said - dumplings are great!!

5 people ordered ‘all you can eat’ hot pot. We got one set of everything and we were told that we could order more after we finished the first set. We finished the first set within 40 mins and we ordered the second round. We were waiting 40mins for the next order and they said it’s time out. Staff on the second floor are terrible at their job. We got the first set twice as they made mistakes, another waiter took it away from our table after 5 mins and tried to blame us for double ordering which surely we couldn’t do it as the rule they set. We told them we don’t eat lamb, yet they still served lamb to the table. We ordered still water but it came in a big bottle and we had to wait for 30 mins to get a glass after asking a few times.

Food was great and we come here often but the christmas menu prices was way over priced 25 for a chow main 7.50 for a can of coke.

Reasonably priced, authentic Taiwanese cuisine. The waiter assigned to us was surly and clearly didn't want to be there. Booked there due to previous good experiences, sadly won't return.

Very cozy place, service was fast and correct. The food was excellent. We left the restaurant satisfied.

I didn't like the dish I ordered, but this is just my personal preference, meaning that the same dish may seem tasty to somebody else. However, that was not the most serious problem we faced there. We were not satisfied with the service at all. We asked to charge our mobile phones for just 10 minutes, but the lady who served us refused and spoke to us in the rudest and most inappropriate way. Moreover, it needs to be mentioned that one of our friends hadn't finished her meal yet, but the same lady gathered her dish without even asking her. That was by far our worst experience during our trip in England. Taking into consideration all the above-mentioned, I do not recommend this place.

OK so obviously as expected and as most Chinese restaurants go, you cannot expect 5 star service. But damn, I was waiting to be seated and told to wait, and another patron just barged in and asked to be seated without booking in advanced and was seated immediately. I was too tired to argue so I decided not to complain about it. I finally got seated about 10 mins later and ordered some dimsum and Roast Duck Ramen. The roast duck ramen was excellent and the serving size is generous. But I feel that the dimsum is just not as I expected. The skin is just too chewy, lots of chain dimsum restaurants in China or just anywhere in Asia can do a much better job than this. Overall I feel that this restaurant is best if you want to eat anything other than dimsum.

Leong's Legend is the best place l've been to in Chinatown! Their food is so flavourful, all of the flavour mized together into a savoury dish. The atmosphere is so nice, it really imitates the type of restaurant you'll find in Taiwan. The price is so worth it, so cheap for some food that blows one's mind away. Their menu have many options, each one so unique and delicious. The staff are so kind, welcoming and well-trained. For our family, Ellen was so nice to us, making us feel like the restaurant was our home. The smile that Ellen has makes the space feel so happy, despite the atrocious weather outside.Whenever we needed service, Ellen was always there to help. They gave us a free dessert, for us, which was the best dessert one can ever receive. The taste coated my tongue with it's flavour, and it introduced more food and nourishment to my palate. Will definitely reccomend this place to others, and will be back soon! -俊萊

Make sure you have a thick skin if you are planning to go. What would have been a 5 star review has become 2 stars because of the awful and degrading service we encountered today. The wait staff who served us today (a middle aged lady) would roll her eyes at us and put on a dark face for simple requests such as bowls for the table for congee, and water. Being East Asian I don't expect exemplary service at these restaurants but this lady was outright rude and made what should have been a happy reunion with some friends quite awkward. The food was really good for the Timeout deal. Too bad that doesn't make up for being treated with contempt.

Extremely good food, loved the Taiwanese differences to typical cantonese/chinese Very light, not overly sugared or salted / MSG etc. Genuinely interesting dishes I'd never seen before like the Oyster Omelette, which was very nice. Can always tell a great restaurant when on the menu it all sounds delicious. Friendly staff. Accommodated us well.with 2 small children. No fuss / simple interior, but has its own charm, bustling. We actually walked out of Golden Pheonix across the road as was really not impressed when sat down (large, depressing atmosphere / staff and food on menu expensive but unappealing). Very glad we did, as across the road was this little gem. Marked service down to 4 as waitress told me the listed optional service charge was not in the final total, so we tipped on top. Putting maths skills to test afterwards and realised at worst I'd been lied to, at best a misunderstanding. I asked for the additional tip to be refunded. Shame, as I was probably about to add some extra Xmas tip. Food though was really good and will give benefit of doubt on the service charge "confusion". Thoroughly recommend for inventive, imaginative, flavourful asian cuisine. Also huge portion sizes, so leave with doggy bag or share plates.
