Staff was friendly, but room was dirty and dusty, walls stained with holes, and bed was two twins pushed together with lumps and hard edges. The hallway also smelled like sewage and had trash bags left in the hallway. Overall just a bad place to stay.

I stayed at Leonardo Inn Glasgow West End on May 23, 2025, in Room 218, and checked out the next day. Shortly after leaving the hotel, I realized that I had left a pair of green slippers in the room. However, as I was heading to another city, I didn’t have time to return and pick them up. I contacted the hotel immediately, explained the situation, and asked if they could help send the slippers back to me. Unfortunately, the hotel completely denied finding any lost item in the room and showed no willingness to assist or double-check. I am 100% sure that I left the slippers in the room, and their lack of responsibility and support was incredibly disappointing. In addition, the kettle in the room was broken and unusable. Even worse, it still contained water from the previous guest, which was very unhygienic and unacceptable for any hotel. For a hotel that claims to offer proper services and 24-hour front desk support, this experience was extremely unprofessional. I will never return, and I strongly advise others to avoid this hotel.

The staff are friendly. The bed is comfy. Very poor water pressure, so the shower was pitiful. Breakfast is ok. Location is good if you don't mind a walk to get to the main areas, but a few nice restaurants very nearby. Noisy people in car park all evening and morning, not sure if coach or taxi drivers, or uber, but very annoying. Rooms are tired and no attention to detail for cleaning. Very dusty in less visible areas, deep cleans don't seem to be a thing..

Had a room right next to the lift, and the walls are paper thins every time someone used the lift, it woke me up. Something was making a banging noise at 5am, and the industrial bins were getting emptied at 6am, which was extremely loud. It was a very noisy night and hardly slept through the noise. Asked for an adjoining room when we booked up in January, to which they said we would get it, and then upon arrival, we were in rooms quite far apart but on the same floor. We got told that there were no available adjoining rooms yet specifically asked for that in January and told that's what we would get.

Uncomplicated check-in, parking at the hotel ($5 per night), 24/7 supermarket right next door, very good value for money, perfect for a stay in Glasgow. The well-known Ashton Lane in West End can be reached in 20 minutes on foot. The only “point of criticism”: the bathroom furnishings are getting old. For a simple stay but not too bothersome.

Best to probably find somewhere else! Served a purpose in terms of a bed to sleep in but not too much else to write home about. Rooms in serious need of a deep clean and a touch up throughout but if you’re after a cheap pit stop it’ll do the job. Staff were lovely and can’t say a bad word about them, would just be better if the owners paid out of pocket to tidy up!

Comfortable but stained mattress. Pillows had seen better days. Overall felt stuffy after sleeping. Room had wall damage in multiple areas from what appeared to be a smash up. There were splatters across a wall lampshade and with the slightest touch it rotated upside down. There was a lot of paint peeling off the radiator. No room blow dryer as stated. Shower was tepid with scalding blasts intermittently, hot enough to easily cause burns. Had to use bath tap only which was fine. Not exactly convenient if you can imagine this. Not trying to be picky but accommodations definitely felt tired and neglected. Staff were pleasant though and very affordable.

Two stars because the hotel exists and accepts guests—that's about it. Breakfast: Please refer to the enclosed photos. Even though breakfast is available for purchase, it doesn't guarantee that food will be available; only leftovers were left at 7:20 am. The coffee machine was constantly either broken or needed maintenance. Tables were not cleaned, leaving no place to sit and eat. Despite the hotel having many guests, only one staff member was attending to the area. The hotel seems severely understaffed, which greatly impacts the quality of service. Rooms: The rooms are in need of refurbishment. While I understand it's a budget hotel, the periodical lack of hot water in the morning was unacceptable. The overall customer experience is inexcusable. This was certainly my last stay at Leonardo, and the hotel is now on my "Avoid at all costs" list.

I'm just home from a 4 night stay at the leonardo hotel west end Glasgow. And I will never return. 1st night ( Thursday) we got a drink. I asked for a Coke with ice to be told we have no ice. Went to our double room then for the night. To find out we hadn't a double bed but 2 singles pushed together. Next morning I took a shower which you have to stand in the bath to get only to be scalded on my ear and neck as the water temperature jumped from where I had it to very very hot for no reason. This happened 4 times as if someone in another room turned on a cold tap and took our cold water. When reported to reception i was told its the old plumbing system. That's it. Not or you ok or anything. So had to wash in the sink after that. If I was an elderly person that shock and slippery bath could have ended up alot worse. Not even as much as a toilet brush in the bathroom either. We where room 108. Which didn't help either. Folk smoking and talking below the window late and very early also. Awful smell of smoke & noise wasn't a nice break whatsoever. I wouldn't recommend to anyone

Ordered a wine and a cider for delivery to the room. It's took over an hour to arrive. There was a party in the hotel that kept us up all night. The shower kept going from cold to scalding hot with no warning. The room was worn and dated. Mould in the bathroom. Peeling wallpaper. Some paint doesn't cost that much. Neglected and generally awful. Avoid like the plague. You'll be better off camping with the homeless under the M8 underpass.

Absolutely gutted..."Pond House Hotel" as it used to be was the place to be....! Now it's a 3* run down (barr the downstairs lobby, bar etc area) establishment, much disappointment... Heat in room is OPPRESSIVE, fan is provided albeit broken and filthy, anti jump window barely opens, I would have jumped. Our TINY room was directly next to the lift and above the area where staff have their breaks at ALL times of the night, very loud.. The bed was very comfy, duvet good.... The bathroom has NO extractor fan, the shower scalded my partner as the temp kept changing, he told chap on Check Out whom showed TOTAL disinterest... hand towel was thread bare with numerous holes in it. The soap dispenser was DISGUSTINGLY filthy....areas of black mould on bath, bit of bleach actually works!! One of the glasses provided had white powder stains in it, assuming Toothbrush residue nothing illegal!! I don't blame House Keeping due to the pressure they are under...lower target times per room for these staff... Talking Housekeeping, we checked in at 3pm and were told if we wanted the room serviced in the MORNING make sure the sign was put on door 24 hours BEFORE...OOOOOOK! Final nail in the coffin was having to pay £5 per night extra for parking, this was NOT stated in my booking. Prices, a Double Vodka, no ice, no mixer £11...we had a drink in town it was £11.90 for a Double Vodka with Ice, a can of Irn Bru and a Pint! I'm sure a LARGE percentage of the guests are attending Gartnaval Hospital for appointments, treatments etc like myself for eg Cancer (it is the perfect location for hospital being positive) such that I think it's UNACCEPTABLE in terms of hygiene, the temp of bedrooms, the attitudes, the prices - daylight robbery, we thought it would be a treat in adverse times, gutted, didn't sleep either night due to heat, exterior and interior noise. Staff ok, slow service barr check in/check out desk...not what I'd expect from the friendliest (best banter) city in Scotland! Would not recommend unfortunately...EVER.... :-(

We have been travelling around the UK for over a week and this has been our worst experience by far. Checked in and went to the room only to find that the toilet was broken. They changed our room to the first floor right beside the door to the main stairs and with a smaller bed. All night and early in the morning we kept getting woken up by other patrons going through the door. It was so loud we thought on multiple occasions that it was our room door being opened. We paid for breakfast but decided to just leave. Went to checkout and asked for a refund and the guy at the front desk was training a new girl and starts muttering under his breath “well why would you pay for breakfast if you weren’t going to have it”. I said excuse me and he repeated it louder and I said we changed our minds and we’re allowed to do that. He continues to be extremely rude to me about the refund and I said I’m sorry but I don’t understand why this is a big deal and why I’m getting attitude. He responded “that’s ok you don’t have to understand”. I asked for his name and I think he said Gael and that he was not the manager. This has been the worst experience by a long way. Absolutely so not recommend.

I was with a Cosmos Travel tour and a dinner meal was included with our stay. I ordered Smoked Haddock on a bed of rice with hard boiled eggs. What I received was NO WHERE near what was described!!!! I had two sliced boiled eggs and a bed of rice. Under the rice was three (3) very small pieces of dry fish!!! I asked to speak to the manager and his response was “that’s how we serve it”. I gave him several opportunities to make it right….nothing! Not even an apology from the manager! Horrible customer service! A real disappointment!

Had a great stay here. All staff were super friendly, helpful and chatty. The bar staff struck up a conversation with everyone they served, and receptionists were great too. The housekeeping staff we met were also really helpful and friendly. Didn't have breakfast but we did eat in the restaurant a couple of times and the food was brilliant. The bed was really comfortable. Room was good but could do with a bit of an update. My only negative is that you have to request a visit from housekeeping the night before - which is easy to forget. Fine if you're only staying a couple of nights, but if you're there for a week it can mean things get a bit messy!
