Leon in Uttlesford

The baked fries were like cold soggy rubber, awful. My wives wrap was the worst shes ever had. I have no idea how such a lack of care becomes the norm at Leon, this is our second bad experience in a row, which is a shame as we found it far better a few years ago.

I was looking for something a bit better than a burger that didn't have a half-hour wait for a seat. This technically provided that, but the pitiful portion of almost flavourless rice and chicken was extremely disappointing for over a tenner. Achieving the throughput necessary seems to required them to drop quality.

OK food and service - poor advertising. Went here, as they advertised free hash browns with a £10 spend, if you went to the counter to order. It didn't look like they had been deducted from the order, but I was assured they were - they weren't. £20.37 for a lukewarm vegan sausage in a bun, porridge, lukewarm hash browns (small portion) and two regular coffees. Left feedback and was told: Thanks so much for getting in touch and I'm really sorry this was a disappointment. This offer ended on 5th May and there were some T&Cs to it - you have to order on the app and also our franchise locations are excluded from these offers I'm afraid. I will of course share your feedback with our senior team. First and LAST visit to a Leon...

Awful watery coffee. The egg muffin is a disaster as the contents slide out onto your tray as soon as you pick it up. They need to look at this issue. When I mentioned it to the supervisor she acknowledged that it usually happens.

I'm a frequent visitor to Stansted Airport, and regularly have my breakfast at Leon's. Service is fast, meals are reasonable, and usually you can find a seat. A tad pricey, but all airport shops are.

I was expecting to get by on a few nuts on the plane as I don’t enjoy paying airport prices for food that I don’t value but this place caught my eye as I was walking past. They were very busy and there was quite a delay between ordering (take out) and receiving food so I considered abandoning and running for my flight. However I persevered as the menu had plenty of whole food options and I thoroughly enjoyed my breakfast.

They turned the menu boards around just as i got to the counter. the staff took this opportunity to all look at the guy turning them around and having a chat instead of taking orders. i ordered the chicken burger, it was served in a moment so the food was already prepared and waiting before they had changed the boards. when i opened it the food wasn't partuculally hot and the chicken looked a bit grey. the bun was nice and the salad & dressings but the chicken was Bland, no flavour what so ever. it had no sign of being cooked on a grill so i assume was steamed or boiled. very unappetising. I threw it away and got a sandwich from boots.

If you want an alternative to Burger King or the like, recommended for varied food, including interesting vegetarian options. Portions not necessarily large for price paid, but tasty.

I stopped at Leon at Stansted airport to have a burger and a beer. The menu has lots of vegan and gluten-free options, their napkins are made of recycled paper and their cutlery looks like it's made of processed wood. Without explicitly stating so, it all gives you an impression of an eco-friendly establishment. That's why I find it really shocking that they don't recycle any of their waste. Upon finshing my meal I brought the empties to the their waste collection area. Having thrown the paper wrapping, I was standing there - confused - wondering what to do with the empty glass bottle. A member of staff approached me and said 'I'll take that' and threw it in the general waste bin. I stopped him and asked why it isn't recycled. He replied 'oh, yeah' and then picked it up and threw it in another general waste bin PRETENDING IT WAS A RECYCLING BIN. When he walked away I picked the bottle out of the bin and threw it in the public area recycling bin. I'm not eating there again.

3 out of the 6 things we wanted were unavailable. We ended up with a chicken burger. It was slimey and tasteless. We were also sold a cardboard cup of slaw.. To replace an unavailable side dish. Truly disgusting.. Inedible. The staff were nice and helpful. Very disappointing.

Pretty good place to eat some food at the Departures terminal inside Stansted airport. We ate some lentils masala and some chicken. It's a fast food, food served in boxes, you can enjoy it sitting on a table. It's delicious, we enjoyed it, something different and hot to eat. Nothing special but to try!!!

Airport food is never cheap but this menu is not too outrageously priced. The food is tasty and service is fast. What they do lack at times is staff to inspect cleanliness. The cafe can go from ram packed to empty in seconds yet I did not see a member of staff come from behind the counter for over 15 minutes. In a busy period it needs to be much more frequent as most tables needed a wipe down, as did several seats, which were missed.

As a gluten-free vegan, I love this branch of Leon! The love burger in the poppy seed gluten free bun is the highlight of flying out of Stansted for me. Thank you so much for being the only place on the whole of the airside which meets my dietary requirements in terms of hot meals. The infused drinking water is great too!

When we fly from Stansted we usually get breakfast from either Leon or Pret A Manger. On this particular morning I chose the veggie breakfast box which included 2 eggs, beans, mushroom, avocado, halloumi and tomato, when I had it on the plane it was a bit runny, but that could have been due it going cold whilst I was waiting for the seatbelt light to be turned off. Probably next time I will stick to the halloumi and avocado muffin as that’s usually really nice. What I really like about Leon is that they offer a variety of milk options including oat milk and the free jugs of water are really refreshing as they’re loaded with mint.

Looked for somewhere for breakfast, saw burger king but was surprised they do not serve breakfast. How can you have burger and chips at 5am for breakfast!! Right next to it is Leon. Tried their sausage muffin for under £4. It is actually very nice. However, if it is for a child, you need to ask them not to put any sauce in it. Whist it is nice for an adult, it maybe too exotic for a child. I think it maybe a hint of brown sauce. Anyway, it was nice and not too expensive for an airport. Service was very friendly too and quite quick.

Ate here before flying out and must say I was very impressed. Fast service of healthy food and vegetarian. Price was very reasonable too. Would defo visit again.

Considering some of the ridiculous prices at Stansted Airport, LEON is perfect for us budget travellers! We had some really nice food here - portions could have been slightly bigger, however they tasted great and I loved the Mediterranean twist they added to it. Loved the sauce in the bacon and sausage roll in particular. Nice premises with great decor too, and I'd definitely visit again before a flight.

Leon fries beats all other places in airport. Wasn’t hungry, so ordered a drink and some fries as a little snack before my flight. Fries were so good and it’s cosy atmosphere inside, they have flight screen there in so you can sit and chill before your trip. Definitely coming back there.

Our flight was delayed and we got a 5 € voucher from Ryanair (approx 4.6 Pounds). This particular restaurant took advantage of the fact that the vouchers were issued in € and were offering only 3.5 € for it. It is an insignificant amount that they took, but it just left a really really bad taste! Instead of caring about their customers, their mentality is "how can we take advantage of our customers that have been put in a 'weak' position".

@4 in the morning or something like that I went there to get a muffin with egg and sausage., very quick service from the lady at the counter but what made it very special was the very lovely smiley front of house staff male Spanish maybe., he was hoovering over everyone making sure we are all good@4 in the morning !., an inspiration., and the muffin was yum mmm too.,!!! thank you for the early smiles made my day! and sure for many others as well!!

Simply error corrected professional - Well Done. I ordered the VG curry and was given the wrong dish. On discovery I ask one of the team if this was correct they said no and went to get the manager, who exchanged my dish with the correct one, correct my charge as I paid too much and offered me a tasty treat. The correct dish tasted brilliantly and the treat was awesome, looking forward to my next Leon meal.

Leon staff where extremely helpful taking out ingredients my daughter did not like from her muffin. Also very helpful with my intolerances and making sure i got the correct food and Gluten Free.

Cheap healthy food and fast service good value for money which is surprising as airport food is usually so expensive! Definitely recommend if looking for a light bite !

Stansted airport. I have been to Leon several times during travel through Stansted airport. Unfortunately, standards have gone down. The staff are 'touchy no lo get cheerful The food bland also like warm.

Always look for a Leon in an airport or a London train station. Few things are a better big snack than their haloumi wrap and they have other enterprising options. They're always pleasant when they take your order and their ethos seems altogether more decent than others. Recommended.

I revisited Leon, airside restaurant, not my first visit and certainly the staff looked familiar from my last visit some months ago. This particular Leon is a franchise, owned by an American company and although based at an airport did surprisingly feel and have the taste of a genuine Leon restaurant! I had the Porridge with Banana & Cinnamon which is very satisfying and filling. Water is always freely available if you don’t want a coffee or tea!

We had couple of veggie breakfast boxes and it was super delicious. Staff was friendly and helpful. Excellent!

Nelia is amazing! Great service and great food. Taste great! Fast as well! In fact all of the staff are amazing here and so friendly. Recommend to everyone!

Given that it is in an airport the food is fairly good and at a reasonable price Service is quick and water is free

I have always thought that Stansted Airport food service was dreadful until I was persuaded to try Leon. Food was refreshing nice, well prepared and a little different. The service was ordinary to say the least - One motivated person and the rest were just going through the motions. The free mint water is a nice touch.

This is an excellent place to eat and refresh at the airport. Given it is at the airport it is still reasonably priced and very good value. I really like it here.

Ci siamo fermati a cenare in questo ristorante libanese all'aeroporto di stansted prima del ritorno in Italia. Ottimi piatti a base di riso e pollo cucinato nelle varie maniere alla libanese e ad un prezzo molto contenuti. Cena leggera, economica e natural food!! Ottimo.

Chocolate chips, honey, banana and porridge in a cardboard cup. Yummy! Plus an organic latte to go with it. Hubby can highly recommend the banana and cinnamon porridge washed down with a tea. Less than £10, not bad for an airport breakfast.

+ good value for money + free mint water + tasty and fresh food and unusual + nice staff + the music was not laud

Pleasant surprise in the airport. Nice menu fast service and pleasant staff. Mezze box was really nice with falafel, hummus, kale salad etc. Quite a difference in price to sit in rather than take out .

This is the first visit to a Leon. The menu is different to the norm catering for vegan and gluten-free diets. I am nether but always like to try something different. I found the service to be quick and efficient, yes this can make the staff seam rude as they are busy with the amount of customers at a busy airport. The food was worth the price in comparison to other outlets on site and was served up in take away style boxes. I found this hand because I could sit anywhere to eat it. The presentation inside the box was ok and the taste wonderful. This small meal was a lovely change from the Burger stuff.

I love the food they serve at Leon but I had a few issues with this restaurant. The main one is that they charge an extra 20% on top of your bill if you want to eat in - this wasn't made clear at the checkout and adds a fair wack to your bill! They also give you the stupid (but pretty) trays with no grip which isn't easy to manage with your hand luggage. There's also 2 queues - one of which moves twice as fast as there's 2 people serving. Choose carefully.

Was going to eat here on the 7th September with my daughter and my husband who has life threatening allergies for which he carries an Epi pen for I asked to see which food he was unable to have, the man who I spoke to was completely unhelpful, wouldn’t let me see the ingredient list and told me I should look at the board. I explained once again that I needed to know the full ingredients in each dish and I was happy to look through it to see myself the man sighed deeply and said do you need to eat here! I said Don’t worry and left the premises, not the treatment i’d expect. It not my husbands fault that he such such severe allergies!

Flight was delayed so stopped here for a quick bite to eat. What a pleasant surprise! Never heard of this chain (if it is a chain before) but the menu is very inventive and what we had tasted really good. Worth a visit if you’re passing through the airport.

We had a couple of breakfast muffins - absolutely beautiful! Really good value for money especially when you take into account airport prices. We will definitely be back

Comimos allí porque nuestro vuelo se retrasó. Al verlo pensamos que era una comida diferente y sana, y los precios no estaban mal para ser el aeropuerto. Pero desde luego fue un gran error.

always good, consistent quality - simple, healthy and delicious food rather quick service and surprisingly you can always find a place in this buzzy venue

My wife and I enjoyed our breakfast here; she liked her porridge and I enjoyed my halloumi and avocado roll. Not a particularly cheap choice of eatery, but then where is cheap at Stansted? Counter service, briskly friendly, interesting range of food on offer, a change from the norm.

Di passaggio all'aeroporto di Stansted, abbiamo preso del cibo da asporto da Leon. Ci è sembrato che proponesse un tipo di cucina diversa, più interessante e appetitosa di altre. Ci siamo ricreduti, il riso con olive, limone e pollo non era affatto buono. L'unico gusto che ho recepito è stato quello del succo di limone. Sinceramente, neanche il rapporto quantità/prezzo colma la scarsa qualità.

Leon si è rivelato essere uno dei tanti locali da aeroporto, per lo più di scarsa qualità, anche se fortunatamente non troppo costoso in proporzione alla quantità di cibo offerto, dove si va più per necessità e fame che per altro. Lo abbiamo scelto perché sembra più invitante di molti altri posti, ma alla fine ci siamo dovuti ricredere...davvero nulla di che...

A welcome return to this fine establishment and very happy to see the return of my favourite. Very busy today but service with a smile It’s still my favourite in Stansted but I’ve just spotted the West Cornwall Pasty Co! Loyalties will be decided on my next visit!

I was looking for something for breakfast. The choice was not great. On a previous visit I'd had a full English at one of the pubs, which was ok. However, I wanted to try something different.

Great fast good concept. We came in here while waiting for our flight to Edinburgh. We had the Chilli Chicken Bowl and Falafel Wrap. The service was prompt and the food came out great!

Decided to eat here as I had a lovely curry the last time I was here. I opted for the the vegan falafel wrap but when it came out, it looked fairly slim. My first bite was a dry mouthful of thick flatbread. There was a very small amount of filling, which was nice, but very dry as well. But disappointed as I ate here because of the veggie options.

The fries are amazing and the service was so speedy which is ideal when you’re in a rush or stressed about catching your flight:)

I was pay at Leon becon and egg muffin,it was cold,the paper over them,was dirty and there was one piece of salmon. It's rubbish,this food was smell by fish. Never I don't come eat there. Editha

Sono stata qui a fine novembre. Il cibo è ottimo, il prezzo è adeguato e in linea con quello medio di un menu del McDonald's. Ho preso dell'ottimo tacchino con riso integrale e salsa di yogurt mentre il mio compagno di viaggio ha optato per un wrap e delle patatine, che dalla foto possono sembrare unte ma non lo erano. Una piacevole sorpresa. Cassiere non preparatissime sulla differenza tra spicy e hot (in realtà credo che nessuna pietanza sul menù sia veramente piccante), ma disponibili. Caldamente consigliato.

Really good breakfast menu for vegetarians - porridge and hot muffins all looked superb and my mushroom and egg muffin tasted great! Coffee was also good and decor very cool. Only small gripe was the worlds smallest mince pie for £1 (see pic) It was so small I assumed the price would be for 2 or 3. It was nice though and the tiny pie brought a smile to my face.

I like Leon. It's a chain, but it's up and coming and its heart seems to be in the right place. I like the staff's friendliness (though I've seen less of that at the Euston outlet than at others) and the help-yourself jugs of minted water, though not the plastic glasses to drink it from. I also like the sound of the menu. I've not worked my way far through it, though, because the Haloumi Wrap is so utterly delicious that I keep choosing that again. BUT, unreasonably, you can't order it at "breakfast time". You can have the slightly similar, much inferior Haloumi & Mashed Avocado Burger instead... but Leon, please, what the blazes is more "breakfasty" about a burger than a wrap!?!?!?

I’m gluten intolerant and finding the Leon restaurant at Stansted airport was absolutely unreal. I enjoyed a Thai green curry with fresh slaw. It was packed full of flavour and very filling. Certaintely a fantastic selection of mouth watering dishes.

Having arrived at Stansted early we chose to eat here being a more healthly option than being offered by neighbouring restaurants. The service was quick and seats were available. We chose a box Thai curry which was a tad disappointing and I wouldn't order it again and our other choice was a Box Club which was a better option. They were both reasonably priced at 6.95 which again was cheaper than other food outlets. Together with an orange juice and a beer our total bill was £20.05. We lingered a long while over our meal and did not feel we were overstaying our welcome waiting for our flight to be called as seating is very hard to find in Stansted airport! Would go again but choose differently.

A trip around the world with a selection of healthy dishes at good prices, served with a smile and a can help attitude. A bit of fresh air amidst the desert of airport food.

Myself, husband & 2 children visited Leon for a quick breakfast before our flight to Rhodes. The porridge pots were filling & tasty while my husband had the bacon & egg muffin. The service was quick & friendly.

Love Leon but I ordered a avocado muffin and a coffee before my flight and the service was rubbish. Moody staff and a very soggy tasteless mush. Coffee was ok!

Ok... where do I start. Ordered the poached egg, avocado and salmon breakfast box, with one slice of toast. The toast arrived after the box????

This outlet is one of many serving similar things at Stansted but is fine for casual foods at reasonable prices. The place itself is nowhere near as elaborate as some of the other restaurants but neither are the prices. Queues move quickly and service comes with a smile. The coffee was not as good as some of the regular chains but perfectly adequate and cheaper.

I had lunch here and was happy with it, the place is a bit cramped but I still found a seat even though it was really busy. The person that served me was really rushing me and not listening.... but again it was very busy

I chose this restaurant from among all those available at Stansted Airport as the food looked healthy and tasty - and because I could get a seat! I had the chicken burger (without the bun) with satay sauce. All the ingredients were fresh and really tasty (the salad had white and red cabbage for crunch, petit pots for sweetness, rocket for pepperiness, and mint and parsley herbs for freshness) with a freshly-made satay sauce on top of a good quality piece of grilled chicken - delicious! All the staff were friendly and service was quick. Had been in a hurry for my flight, this would not have delayed me, but as it was, I was allowed to linger for as long as I wished. I will certainly eat here again.

Very poor food and even worse presentation. The South Indian spiced fish looked like someone had squeezed a portion controlled boil in the bag meal onto of a portion of microwaves rice. Spiced it wasnt it was tasteless and bland.

Eat in or takeaway it describes itself as "naturally fast food". Delivery method is 'everything in cardboard box'. The smoked salmon, avocado and poached egg was a nice concept but the egg was a failure - a solid blob in the bottom of the cardboard carton. The 'Big breakfast box' is a great idea - the GF sausage was pleasant surprise as was the mixture of beans, tomatoes and onion. Shame about the overlooked egg because it would have been excellent value. A nice touch was that there were the two options of milk and jugs of mint infused water with plastic lids so that you could take it away.

Day or night stansted is crowded, the food stops are usually jammed full too. Choice is limited but Leon makes a good attempt at providing something that's not just a slim filling to a plate of bread.

Its quick, i cant remember exactly what we ate but i know it was a wrap with chicken, it was good but it wasn't that memorable, but it does the job to feed you. Good.

I cannot remember what we ate, but it was very pleasant, My focus was staff watching! OK a little strange I hear you say, but bear with me for just one moment. I have ordered food in any number of fast food establishments, and on the whole I forget the experience as I leave, but after being served by a delightful lady who seemed to actually care that we had a nice meal. I sat down and watched as they all treated the customers as if they were important. So a short review but one that shows that what I want is to feel valued, and Leon did that in spades>

Stopped here to pick up a coffee and breakfast muffin before our flight. There is basically a fast food pre made food at breakfast and then wait for you coffee to be made. I had to remind them about my coffee order as they had forgotten. The latte I ordered definitely wasn't worth the wait, tasted like it was a shot short, the breakfast muffin was ok but nothing special. In perspective I would have got a better coffee and breakfast muffin at Mc Donald's, so for the price pretty disappointing.

Came here for breakfast before our flight. Excellent range of really tasty food. Service was really quick and staff were helpful and friendly too. Does have limited table seats though. Would recommend!!

As airport eateries go, this is pretty good. Healthy and tasty food in good portions, reasonably priced. Basically posh fast food. Service seems efficient. Recommended for a quick bite.

I am never disappointed by my visits to this establishment. All the staff are warm, friendly and attentive and the refreshments reasonably priced and offer great value. Thank you once again. 👍👌

Mini "English breakfast" servido en una tarrina, que a primera vista no es atractivo, pero el sabor es excepcional, contiene todos los ingredientes, el bacon, la salchicha, las judías con tomate (natural), y el huevo pochado. Todos los ingredientes son orgánicos de gran calidad. (lastima que la presentación lo desmerezca).

Got to airport early for my flight so decided to try the Leon fries and hummus. Reasonable portion size, staff were great and crinkly baked fries were crispy and served with ketchup. Hummus was delicious. Nice snacks for £4.30

Stopped for a coffee and cake. Service quick and friendly, a little oasis from the general huddle and bustle of the airport. Coffee (flat white) fine and cake (brownie) OK. All the better with 20% discount through FLIO.

Despite the large number of people working behind the counter the restaurant was very messy and untidy. We tried to no avail place a simple order but were seemingly unable to as it came back wrong. Despite this the cafe latte was good.

Having been left disappointed with another outlets sausage and egg muffin, I decided to grab a sausage and egg roll here to compare.

Had the breakfast bap and a coffee. Food not brilliant . Some seating available, service was fast and friendly, ok if youre in a hurry.

Very disappointed to see the black beans hotbox has disappeared from the menu! Nonetheless that staff are as cheerful and helpful as ever and the chicken salad was fine. A nice place to hang out prior to flight. 👍👌

Lots of GF, Dairy free etc. Very tasty food - I had sweet potato & okra stew and it was so nice I think I'll buy their cookbook to use the recipe.

We needed a meal that was Gluten free for one of us who has Coeliac disease. We came to Leon and found that ALL their hot box meals were gf as well as sides and cakes. Fantastic. The meal arrived in record time (2 minutes) and were really tasty. We'll done Leon! Even better the prices were very reasonable between £5.45 and £7.15 per hot box. We will come again.

Our second visit and this time lunchtime not breakfast, which we tried on the first visit. We were served very quickly and the staff are very efficient and friendly. Quite happy to wait while you ponder over the menu as you decide! We opted for the fish finger wraps and were not disappointed. A large finger of cod runs through the middle of the wrap, which is more like a large pitta rolled up. Salad, tartare sauce and gherkin are all in there and wrapped in foil makes it easy to consume. We followed it with coffee and yet again a delicious mix. We will be back. Our next flight is around tea time so this could fit in just right!

The yogurt bowls are delicious! They are quite small which is understandable considering the low cost. The God's bowl is my favorite!

Had a quick lunch already several times in here and must confirm it is the best fast food restaurant. This time opted for meat balls and chicken and it was heavenly with a lot of veggies too. After this you don't feel heavy. Staff is very professional making sure customers are satisfied. Price is a bit higher than any other fast food but it is worth every penny.

The best place to get a quick meal in the airport. Service was speedy and plenty of seating. Food was amazing, much better than I expected for the price and from the description. Salad was delicious and beautifully chopped and even included a wedge of lemon. The meatballs were perfectly cooked and the sauces with them were really tasty.

Just had coffee. 1 coffee. The service was out of this world. Two waitresses, one Croatian and the other Portuguese went way beyond the call of duty to help. The coffee was great!!!

Looking at the photos of the food on the overhead menus let's you think it's a nicer than usual fast food place. I had a chicken salad these things never look as good as they on the photos but it was okay just not a lot of chicken and the usual pricey airport prices.

Stanstead Airport, soulles place, so many restaurants and you know they're all gonna be tasteless chain food, but Leon was different.

Very limited choice of restaurants in Stansted Airport, and they are dull places, often crowded, and always pricey. Leon's is about as good as it gets. Reasonable service, reasonable food, comparatively reasonable prices. If you want to save on a drink, have a free drink off the trolley from a jug of water with slices of lemon and ice cubes in it. Not an amazing experience, but the best of the lot at this airport.

Disappointed as my meatbals appeared to be tasty until I took a bite and relized they were frozen inside! How did this happen? Next time I will go to James Martin or Pret.
