Awful - waited 20 mins for a table. Then 40 mins for our order to be taken and then food took an hour to come. Wouldn’t recommend this place

The service was terrible, the food was awful and incorrect order delivered, when asked to have correct meal it never came. Were told the kitchen had a problem which caused long delays in food arriving at the table. The waiter was a lovely lad in fairness and I am sure he had a very difficult night with complaints. Would not return

Very annoying to be told we would have to wait 20 mins for a pre theatre table booked well in advance. And nowhere to sit for a drink in the meantime. Many guests getting turned away by bored looking reception team. And huge queue just to check in at reception. Why take the booking for a limited time if you don’t ask customers to leave at the end of it. Very poor. .

The restaurant is in a great location with a varied menu. The food is well prepared and presented. We three had scallops with crispy bacon and rhubarb confit which worked very well followed by the fish pie and shepherd's pie. All cooked superbly well. The standout were the two flies floating in my wine - one still swimming. In a whisk the glass was removed and replaced with a complimentary glass and a full some apology. Top marks.

Perhaps we arrived at a shift handover and there was a mixup? Or some inexperienced waiter made a mistaken on the complex computer system that led to starters and mains arriving virtually simultanesouly. Otherwise ambience, decor, and food quality were all high but ultimately let down by poor service. After a long wait for a starter, delivered by a waitress, seconds after that our mains arrived, delivered by a waiter. The waiter didn’t seem to notice I was still eating and tried to give us the mains. My wife told him to take them away. He seemed perplexed. After the starter had been cleared, to his credit a third waiter fame and asked if we were ready now for our mains. We were and they were brought. They were just about warm. Wherever they had been stood , it wasn’t keeping them very hot. We were on the brink of returning the but on balance decided they were just about ok to eat. Disappointed that this didn’t quite live up to its potential.

We like and use Browns both in Windsor and Oxford so was really disappointed when calling in for a coffee break, my hot chocolate, which I specifically asked to be hot was served Luke warm. On asking for a replacement hot drink I was then served a latte! By which time the rest of our party had finished their drinks and were ready to move on. Really disappointed and not the usual standard from this group of restaurants. I appreciate we were only there for drinks but hey, we’re still customers!

A group of four of us had the Pink Afternoon Tea, we booked with Lastminute.com and had to pay in advance, had this not been the case we would have left immediately and gone elsewhere. First of all the tea was awful, the label cut off so couldn't tell where it was from and incredibly weak, two of us had coffee, which appeared already poured in a cup, no pot and was undrinkable. Now the sandwiches on stale bread, too much mustard and inedible egg and beetroot. The cakes a cheap fairy cake with pink icing and another cake with the same awful icing, these were left. Then we hoped at least the scone should be ok but that was dry and crumbly like a supermarkets own brand. The only thing nice was the jam and that was a pot of Tiptree jam something they hadn't touched. We complained to the manageress who was very apologetic and offered a free glass of Prosecco which we declined. After throwing £100 down the drain we then had to go and get something to eat elsewhere. The whole day was ruined by this experience, NEVER AGAIN go anywhere but here!

We used the internet to book this restaurant, as we are not Londoners, and rely on others reviews for where to eat. It looked okay, and had decent reviews. NOT! We got there after asking direnctions a couple of times, as it is on a side street off of Leicester Square. As not really indicated, it is in the Radisson Hotel, and must be their coffee shop in the daytime, it has that brightly lit ambience. The one guy working there that we could see led us to our table, gave 4 out of 5 of us menus, and the other got the wine list - guess that was enough in his estimation. When he stopped back at the table, we gave drink orders and tried to order some bar snacks while we were looking over the drink selections. NOT! again. We were brusquely told that we must order the food all at once -- "for the convenience of the kitchen". Having been put in our place, we got our drinks and waited for the water and ice we asked for. Waiter/receptionist came to take our orders -- all at once now - and we were again told that the starters we ordered were not really quite right - we must order more. I hasten to add here that we have dined out before and know the difference between first courses, bar snacks and mains - in Europe as well as the U.S. One of our table tried to order risotto, and the waiter tried to dissuade her from that choice - not nicely but in a tone that made it seem she was in the wrong. While waiting for our food to arrive, another guy appeared with a basket containing a few dried up, pasty looking lumps of bread. (there was a little dish of butter and olive oil on the table when we arrived). When he first served the empty place at our table (we were 5 out of 6 places), I asked about the roll he had served to the empty place --- "oh, that's just a raisin one". He then proceeded to put a little day-old lump in front of each one of us.Food finally arrived - the worst part is that the food is actually fairly tasty. Fish dishes were fine, risotto well prepared, and most of us were happy with the meal -- however the service was JUST HORRIBLE.The waiter/host/whatever managed to dump empty bottles behind the bar as we were finishing up (needless to say we did NOT order dessert), making a huge crash. As we left -we noticed in the garishly lit interior that we were the only ones there - we got out and were exclaiming how awful the service had been - which got a nod from the bread guy as he was leaving. SO - my recommendation would be to avoid this place. Sorry that the food is so okay.

My partner and I used to frequent this restaurant about three years ago because of the great quality food and service at reasonable cost. Slowly but surely that quality decreased so it was only the great pre-theatre menu in the exact location of our show that tempted us to try this place again.I'm really pleased that we gave it another go because we had a really lovely meal with cracking service. Two courses from a good menu was just £15pp and the food was cooked very well and the waiters were very helpful when we were running short on time.I would definitely recommend you give this place a go if you are in the area. There is so much rubbish food in the immediate surroundings of Leicester Square so give this a shot.

My friend and I had dinner here on a Tuesday night. It was quiet (we were the only people there) but this was refreshing considering it is right beside the hubbub of Leicester Square. The waiter didn't 'hang around' so even though it was quiet we could have a nice chat without feeling over heard. The food was delicious. We both had the spinach and walnut salad to start and as a main the salmon on a bed of creamed mashed potatoes with tiny pieces of leek through it. The only fault of the night was the bread we were given as a starter which was quite hard but a quick mention to the waiter and were served freshly cooked rolls. We had the South African white wine priced at £22 a bottle which I highly recommend. Our two course meal was part of the two for £15.00 deal and were served free coffees at the end of our meal. There was no problem nipping out for a quick cig between main and coffee's. The staff were friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back for a another meal.

I had booked afternoon tea for seven people on 8th March, when we turned up the waitress asked if we were here for lunch which is the first time I said no I have booked afternoon tea. We then waited 20 minutes before I had to ask if we could be served our tea another ten minute wait. When the tea had arrived the waitress walked off and continued to put out knives and forks on other empty table. I had to call her over again to ask for milk, sugar and even teaspoons. It was then we were handed out lunch menus. I had to explain again that we had booked afternoon tea to which the second waitress replied "no, you booked lunch" It was 1 hour and 15 minutes before we were offered our sandwiches and cakes, which were actually very nice but our experiance had already been ruined by the three waitress staff and their attitude, not one raised a smile or apologised the WHOLE time we were there. So then asked for the bill which not only was more expensive than the lady who I spoke to on the phone quoted there was also nearly £25 of service charge. I had to laugh at this point and just look and say there is no way I'm paying for that. After speaking to the manager we managed to get a discount. The wait was not justified as appart from the seven of us there were 4 other customers including another couple who had booked afternoon tea but were told that the system had them down for lunch.

I visited the Leicester Square Bar and Grill last night. The staff were friendly on arrival, however the other member of my party was delayed and whilst waiting I was ignored, not offered a drink, and eventually presented with a menu only, no drink order taken. After 10 minutes I was presented with a roll and some olive oil (and had to ask for a drink). The waitress preceded to spill the oil olive down the menu and onto my new leather boots. This was met with a lame apology and a half hearted attempt to wipe the boots. When my family member arrived, she was also not offered a drink or given a menu. The menu is promising but the food itself was disappointing, the spinach and poached egg salad was drowning in oil and the seabass was overcooked. My boots now have a permanent oil stain, our meal was discounted but not to an acceptable level (and certainly would not come near covering the cost of the boots). I appreciate that accidents happen but felt this episode was entirely mishandled. In all, an extremely unpleasant experience.

The worst experience of customer service that I have had in years. We took my mum along here for afternoon tea and the sandwiches were stale. When we complained to the waitress she returned with just 3 extra finger sandwiches. She refused to believe us that all the sandwiches we had been given were stale. She offered a discount but when we explained we didn't want a discount we would just like some fresh sandwiches she stood and continued to argue with us. The waitress was unprofessional and ruined the experience so as a result we left. I would strongly recommend not to try this restaurant especially for afternoon tea.

The Leicester Square Bar and Restaurant is part of the Radisson Edwardian Leicester Square Hotel. It's situated very close to Leicester Square, but is still a little bit of the beaten track (particularly when we visited, as there were works taking place and scaffolding on the neighbouring buildings). The decor is fairly modern and not over-stated, providing a relaxed atmosphere. The menu has an ample selection of food, but the fish dishes are particularly good. We tried various varieties on our visit and we were all very happy with the food. I personally had the pan fried sea bass with salmon risotto and this was very good indeed. The wine list also has a good selection of reds and whites from around the world, so finding a suitable drink to accompany the food shouldn't be too hard. The service was friendly and professional and the food was served quite quickly. All in all, a very nice place to have a pre-theatre dinner. Londoners, be aware that the restaurant is part of the tastecard scheme, so the prices can be made moer favourable (even though they aren't overly steep to begin with.

Rather a mixed bag of reviews here, which I read before visiting.I have to say that I was quite pleasantly surprised. The staff were very welcoming and friendly upon our arrival and we had a couple of pre-dinner cocktails, which were excellent quality; we were also not hurried or pressured to take our seats in any way which was refreshing. The dining area was bright, clean, very contemporary and the restauant had a really nice relaxed and sociable feel to it.My companion and I ordered the Fish Platter Starters which was of excellent quality and served on a bed of ice; the Oysters were very fresh and tasted like they had just been delivered, the prawns were plump and juicy and the Mussels were not bad at all. For mains, I had the Halibut with Fennel Sauce and Fondant Potato, which, if not outstanding, was very good and easy on the palate. My companion had a very large portion or Seafood Linguine, which was also well presented and was of good quality.I ordered an Espresso Chocolate Mousse for desert and it was really very good - most Restaurant Mousses are quite bland but this was served in four separate portions on Italian Biscuit, very well presented and a real, genuine surprise and pleasure. The staff were very attentive at all times, as well as being friendly but not overbearing. With a good bottle of Red Wine, our bill, including the Champagne Cocktails, was £110 for two which was exceptional value. Overall, very surprised and quite impressed - only niggles would be that at 11pm, they were clearly very keen to close and it made us a little uncomfortable, plus a more varied menu would be a step in the right direction. If I knew someone who wanted an informal, good quality meal that was central and a cut above most of the others in the vicinity, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place. 5 stars would be the perfect meal (which I don't think I've ever had), 4 stars would be exceptional quality where I would be champing at the bit to return, 3 stars would be somewhere very good that I enjoyed a lot, which is a fair summary I believe.

This restaurant came up on several searches for pre-theatre dinner in the Haymarket area.Went with a friend at 6pm. The restaurant was empty. Just us. We ordered 2 dishes and some fries to share. Only one dish turned up. The waiter had forgotten the other one. Hang on... we were the ONLY customers.... there are clearly 2 of us.... why only write down ONE order?!?!? And actually... ONE order in an empty restaurant - surely you wouldn't even need to bother writing that down at all? I sent my food back so that it could arrive with my friends forgotten dish. They eventually brought our food back at 18h45... so then we had less than 15 minutes to eat, pay and get out to the theatre. They did take 50% off the food bill for this. They couldn't take 50% off my derision at this pathetic effort though. Food (when it arrived) was actually ok. But service... well you couldn't get much more inept.

we visited the restaurant for a pre-theatre dinner, booked for 5.30pm.I was looking forward to eating in the restaurant of a 4* hotel, but I couldn't have been more disappointed.I have to say, that one of my local pubs produces better food than I ate last night.I had pumpkin soup, which was like hot wet cardboard, and tasted of absolutely nothing, followed by the rib-eye steak, somewhat chewy, which was served with chips, roasted vine tomatoes and bearnaise sauce, and I also ordered the spinach with nutmeg. The chips were like those at Macdonalds, bearnaise sauce was hollandaise sauce-no tarragon in it, the spinach had been frozen and wasn't fresh with not a hint of nutmeg, and my tomato was a half a small plum tomato cut lengthwise, and not roasted. My dessert was pear poached in red wine, which would have been difficult to spoil. My husband had the smoked salmon on warm pancake, which he said was fine, followed by the calve's liver with thyme and shallot puree ,creamy mashed potato, served with grilled back bacon-only there was no bacon, and when it was requested he was presented with a thin flat shard of brown brittle-goodness knows what THAT was.His dessert was supposed to be brown bread ice cream, when in fact it was vanilla ice cream with crushed biscuits sprinkled on top. I told the waiter that it was not as it should be and all he said was 'I'll tell Chef'. When I eat out I do expect the food to be better than I could produce at home, but not last night. For food like that to be cooked in a West end restaurant is unbelievable.I am not in the habit of writing to comment on a meal, but I feel that my experience last night could not go unmentioned.

I had the burger and chips, my sister had chicken and my mother had cod and chips. All meals were very nice, the service was excellent. The staff really make it a much more enjoyable experience. This restaurant is a bit pricy (roughly about £15 per main) but I had a voucher so we had a discount (better not advertise any other websites!). I would go back, it was very nice. The only thing was it was a bit tricky to find as Leicester Square is all road works etc.

We booked into the resturant for dinner via a deal and lastminute.com, when we got their they had nothing from lastminute.com to confirm the booking, but they were very nice and happliy seated us and let us use the offer we had booked. The waitress was very friendly and attentive without being over bearing, and the food arrived quickly and without fuss. The food itself was well served and tasted great, my salmon was cooked to prefection and just melted in the mouth and the apple crumble was great. The downside is the wine menu is very expensive for average wine. I'd happily go back the food and the service more than made up for the quibble i had about the wine.

I booked this restaurant through lastminute.com on a special offer of 3 courses for £15. There was four girls in our group out for the day in London, one of which had a birthday that day. After a busy, enjoyable, tiring day we were all looking forward to sitting down for a rest and meal. The restaurant is lovely with comfortable leather chairs and contemporary decor, very attentive friendly staff. We also got a roll and butter and some olives aswell as tea or coffee included in the deal. The food was delicious and was excellent value. We al said we would definitely go back.

The furniture is neat, clean, comfortable and modern. Chairs are comfy type leather single seats. Food is fresh and very tasty. I had salmon and it melted in the mouth and I had apple pie and I don't like cinnamon but it had it in it but this did not stop me enjoying it.Staff pleasant and very honest. Did not know that tea / coffee included when we said no thanks they told us that it was included in the 3 course meal so we had it. Had a offer £15 for 3 course usually cost £25. So worth the money and would deff go back and pay the full price if no offers that's how good it is.

Four of us went for dinner on a Thursday night booked with last minute.com. Bargain price of £15 per head for 3 courses and we all thought it was a great deal. Lovely clean upmarket venue coffee included would recommend it to anyone.

Went for a spot of lunch. Menu a little uninspiring - mainly grill. Went for burger and Caesar salad with a nice sauvignon blanc and some cheese and port/brandy to follow. Burger was fine lifted by some decent sauces but salad was the usual shred a lettuce, hunt for the chicken and Parmesan affair disguised by lashings of gut busting sauce. Very boring after a few mouthfuls. Cheese selection was better than most and service was attentive if a bit laconic. Fine for a sunny afternoon listening to the redevelopment of the square and celebrating ticket con's 30th birthday but it is done better elsewhere - and more adventurously .

Four very different tastes (including vegetarian) - each had an excellent meal. All 3 courses were fabulous; special mention goes to the Scallops, eggs benedict, lamb and salmon. The choice of wine by the glass was very good and accommodated our every requirements. Service was professional, friendly and efficient. And the chef;apart from cooking excellent food, she took the time to talk us through the cheeseboard - providing samples to taste beforehand. Great touch. The only down-side was the lack of atmosphere - yes it was noon on Saturday and there were only a few other customers, but maybe a bit of light background music would have added to the atmosphere

Ein gutes Restaurant direkt im Hotel. Die Gerichte waren regional undfrisch zubereitet. das Personal hätte etwas freundlicher sein können, aber vielleicht lag es auch an einer Groden Tagung im Hotel

A favourite watering hole for the locals, the pub draws CROWDS from across the city especially over the weekend. The bar is well stocked with the regulars, but not so many choices when it comes to the rare. Food was good, my favourite was the Chicken Tikka Cibatta

Recently came here for a visit during our trip to London for a few beers. Had to visit as my brother had worked here many years ago. Beer was great. Staff was friendly.
