Feedback Lee’s Fish Bar. Last time ordered via Deliveroo - chips were only parboiled. I’ve had a ‘couple’ of ‘ok’ delivery’s. Tonight again; all squashed into one wrapping; pie squashed and not sure why. Feedback, just because you may not ‘see the face’ of the customer; don’t treat them as if they ‘weren’t’ a customer - end result - less customers! That’s a backward step! Sorry, but feedback should be a gift - here’s my gift….

The cost was about right for the huge portions you get. I really was surprised by how much food was in even just a medium. It means you do get your moneys worth. The Curry Sauce is really good. The chips were not too greasy. That is always a frustrating problem when you get chips and they are just drowned in oil. The taste of the chips are really good.

I was sorry that Mr Lee retired after so long but I needn't have worried about the standard of fish and chips, which are still fresh and tempting.

A really nice friendly and polite man behind the counter. Fair prices and in a good location for parking up in the evening. The chips are very greasy and soaked the paper through. The food items we bought were undercooked and gave us food poisoning afterwards. Every seems to be cooked to order, so be prepared for a 15 to 20 minute wait. I'm not sure why it took so long to so long to undercook food. Maybe I caught them on a bad day, but it's put me off ever returning.

We ordered 3 large chips for 5 of us. All adults. The server recommended that 2 would be plenty and he was spot on. Even had a few to spare. Food and service was excellent as always.

Has always been consistent. Never really liked the fish as the batter is too heavy but chips were the best locally and they did a quality chicken. Not sure what happened tonight but that was the worst take away I've had from there. Salt and vinegar is good but not this much. Chicken and the chips were so salty they were inedible so money down the drain. Hoping it's a one off but won't be going back for a while.

I have been using Lee's for decades and never had an issue until my last order. The quality of the food was as such as I threw it straight in the bin and ordered a different takeaway as it was simply inedible!!! Will never use this place again!!!

Great Fish and chips. The owner cooked the fish for us whilst we waited. He knew the provenance of his fish. The cod was sourced in the North Sea frozen on board ship. Portion size generous

My 1st visit since the new owners took over & I was really well looked after. All the staff were polite, friendly & attentive. The portion sizes were generous & the food was delicious. Highly recommended.

As I've said before in reviews fish and chip is no longer a cheap meal. Taste is subjective so bear this in mind when considering reviews. Lees fish and chip shop is under new ownership and this was my first visit for a long time. Outward appearance is good, clean and bright but it is small and a max of 3 people allowed inside in these COVID times. Prices are on on the higher side of average for Sussex I believe. Normal range of fish offered, I noticed cod in two sizes, huss in one. Chips in sml, med and lge. No mushy peas....pea fritters though. Sausages and pies available. I had huss and chips, 7.60 for the huss plus the cost of the chips, as I said not cheap anymore! Well to be fair the fish did look huge. However when I got home I was able to see that the fish had been heavily dipped in batter, too much for my preference. Chips were fine not too greasy if a little bland. The new people, two nice friendly lads on duty were giving great service, polite , masked and clean looking. Staff hygiene certification was wall displayed behind them. Final verdict.....well it's early days yet but for my taste thinner/ not so much batter lads!! P.S. the pen in the picture is for scale not a chargeable extra.

My friends and I went to Lee’s this evening and despite a late chip delivery out of their control, William cooked us some incredible fish and we had kiev bites for the first time - they were delicious! It’s always our favourite fish&chip shop in HH. William was very welcoming and we will be returning very soon :)

Really disappointing. Way too greasy, fish was soggy, not crispy, chips over cooked and soggy with grease too. Only positive was friendly service.

Lee's never fails to deliver. Very popular option in town as there is normally a long queue outside - that's how good it is! Extremely friendly staff. Definitely will be a regular customer. Please note - you will need to bring cash as doesn't accept card payments.

As my regular chip van was away this week I thought I’d give this place a go. After all the ratings and the reviews here lead me to believe I was in for a treat. More so when you enter to see a wall full of local awards. However I couldn’t have been much more disappointed, the fish had a bit too thick a batter so some wasn’t properly cooked out and tasted floury. Some of my chips were almost raw too, definitely won’t be returning in a hurry!

My family have been regular customers here since i can remember. I have been popping in with my dad since i was about 10 years old (im now nearly 30.!) The Lees are lovely and always ask how everyone in my family is and have a quick catch up. Although everyone is nkw always 'trying to be good' .. when you get a craving on a saturday eve, this is the place to head to.

Average fish and chips, not cheap. The staff are nice. A lot of the fish seemed like it had been kept in the heating cabinet for long periods of time. Still doesn't accept card in this day an age, easier to keep things under the radar from HMRC I guess.

Unfortunately the chips are very oily and the portion sizes aren't great either. A real shame as this was recommended to us as the best in the area

Went here because "Mr Chippy" in Haywards Heath was closed - it was a bank holiday. I can honestly say it was the worst fish & chips I've ever had. Really mega greasy chips and fish - the fish was over fryed as well - the corners of it were overly crispy and disintegrated when I bit in to it. I left most of what I ordered. Also, they don't do curry sauce (and looked at me like I had two heads when I asked it) but they really should - it would go some way to hiding the vileness of their food.If you are in Haywards Heath then there really is no reason to go here if you want Fish and Chips - there is a far better place just up the road on The Broadway - "Mr Chippy"

Always friendly and efficient service. Good portions of well cooked fish at reasonable prices. Other items such as pasties and saveloys available. Chips are slightly on the floppy rather than crispy side but good all the same.
