Spent £30 on food as we've been decorating all day, the fish was nice but the onion rings were hard and crusty, and the chicken fillets were thrown in the bin as when child bite into one you could see pink amd wasn't risking it, wished I'd taken a picture now

Ordered the new BBQ chicken tenders and a Hunters chicken burger. What can I say, these were by far the best burgers and tenders I have had, so tasty! Great portion size and really fresh. A firm favourite in our house now and we will definitely be ordering again. Love the new menu!

Their food is very good, but they’re far too unreliable as far as availability goes. They’re only open for a handful of hours on a few days a week and then they still randomly cancel delivery orders. It’s a pity, because their food is really good. Perhaps that’s why they feel entitled to be so arrogant.

My husband and I had the fish and chips which we both agreed was the tastiest that we have had ever.. our children tried the chicken Shish and chicken tenders. The shish was succulent and the sauce with the tenders was better than any dedicated chicken shop. Staff were all in smart uniform and were really friendly and efficient. Will definitely be back and will most be recommending to our friends

Very disappointed with fish and chips this evening. Asked for lightly battered cod which they said would take 10 mins so I assumed it was being cooked fresh. When I got home the fish was cold and dry (I only live 2 mins away so there is no way it would have got cold in such a short space of time). I was offered salt and vinegar on the chips and I asked for lots but didn’t get any. Had to put food in the microwave to heat up!

Lees fish and chip shop does do nice food, however they always fail to complete an order, very frustrating when trying to buy your kids a nice mean and all they have to eat is chips, won’t be ordering from them again!!!

I would just like to thank the manager at Lee's fish and chips, we had a small problem with our order we received via delivery and the manager made us a fresh brand new whole order. I'm 33 weeks pregnant and am very happy with the customer service I received, my partner is also now more than happy after how busy we are doing our home up!

I believe the roll was stale and they tried to soften it by putting it in the microwave. Not very impressed what so ever !

Ordered several times from here and it’s always been great. Food arrived hot and well presented, as well as delicious. The staff are really friendly and efficient. Wouldn’t order fish and chips from anywhere else.

Four of us had dinner from the new grill menu. Loved it tasty chicken tikka and dinner meat, great rice and salad. Lovely flat breads. All really tasty 😋

I just stopped by lees fish and chips shop For dinner for my family I have to say staff Wasn’t that friendly that part is slightly lessImportant I’ve read reviews saying how fantastic it was all I can say I never ever throw food away and as a Truck driver I’ve eaten in some real dives over the years However this was not nice so bad we all agreed to throw it away and went to SEAWORLD woodhall will not be going ever again for your information SEAWORLD woodhall much better just a picture for you to see wife ordered a spring roll I can’t believe it you look and tell me if it could look anything like a spring roll more like cat food

The chips are delicious, big and chunky and not swimming in grease. The fish tasted really fresh and the batter was nice and crispy. I've seen a few comments about the portion size on here, but I thought it was plenty big enough (and I like my food!). Nice, bright and clean shop, very welcoming staff. It's definitely worth the trip if it doesn't actually happen to be your local chippy.

Tasty traditional food served up by friendly staff. My only small complaint is they always seem to run out of chicken... well plenty of other things to choose from I suppose.

This shop produces the best Fish & Chips for miles, none better in Welwyn, Hertford, Ware, Hatfield or Stevenage. Staff are great & the Fish is fantastic, lovely fresh good quailty food. I live in Herford & travel to Panshanger for these Fish & Chips, a real treat.

Visited my brother and sister in law who live in wgc last night. My brother went to lees and got us all a takeaway. Fish for 5 adults and nuggetts for the kids. I can honestly say that of all the fish and chips we have had around the country we have never had fish so good as what we had last night. We live in walthamstow and travel to north chingford for our fish and chips because we cannot find a decent fish and chip shop in walthamstow. We thought the north chingford shop was good,which it is, but its not comparable to lees. Please owners of lees open a shop in walthamstow, you would have queues around the block!

Have had Fish n Chips across UK and to be honest this is the best that I've ever had!!! Less oily and the fish is coated with such a crispy flour! Love it...5 stars all the way.

We often get chips here and rarely have a problem. It's regularly very busy, which is a downfall but on the other hand also a really good thing because it's really busy with regular customers that keep coming back. They have plenty of staff on all through the week and someone cooking all the time. It would be great if they'd have a gluten free menu, but appreciate it's difficult to accommodate that and our nearest is Stevenage. This is the only reason we ever go anywhere else - to get battered sausages etc that are gluten free - otherwise, perfect.

Lee's Fish and Chips is a traditional shop with high standards of food at competitive prices.The portions are large and if you specify "large" you get extra large. Be warned or share?There are a variety of pies and other food types on offer and eat in tables are available.I'm not sure why this F&S shop still closes so early now that the local pub is converted to a convenience store attracting potential customers until 11pm?

Recently used the takeaway. The staff are pleasant and the orders are filled quickly. The pieces of cod that we ordered were larger than other establishments I've used before. They were crisp and tender. The chips were lovely and crispy. Enjoyable. Will eat from this place in the future.

Used the take away part recently and have to say the chips were really nice, fish was ok as was the rest of our food.Mushy peas portion were smaller than I expected.Overall it was ok.

It's not the best chippy in town, but it'll do if you're in a rush. I find the chips to be very soggy and white flavourless, so best to get salt and vinegar!

Visiting my mum who lives in WGC, I live overseas and fish and chips a bit of a highlight for me of every trip home. Have had from Lees now several times and its brilliant. Hot, crisp, perfectly cooked fish, and perfect chips, good portions too! Cant fault it

We are a family of three with a two year old son and came on a Friday evening and ate in the restaurant. The girls serving us were so friendly and helpful and our food was brought to us freshly cooked and nice and quickly after ordering. We all had cod and chips which were very tasty and faultless. We left full and happy. Couldn't recommend it more and the constant stream of people ordering take away spoke for itself! Fabulous place!

This is our first visit and it won't be our last ,the food was to die for the fish melted in the mouth I'm not keen on chips I did eat some and they were okay my parents ate the rest my mother recommends the pancake roll , the place was very clean apart from my father dropped some of his meal on the floor, the young lady who worked in there was very polite and accommodating the whole meal costed £23.00 for 3 people well worth the money one small complaint the children in there was very noisy

Any local knows this is the best chippy in the area.Been coming here years.They have tried to bring kebabs in, but have stuck with what they are good at.Fish always good. Roomy dining area and friendly takeaway. You won't find better quality, but...If I have one gripe, the chips portions are a bit random. Sometimes bit small. More that it's random is the annoyance. Nothing is perfect, it's a great chippy in the traditional vein.

Possible the best fish and chip shop in welwyn would highly recommend not just myself all the family's favourite. :):):)

I have tried everything they sell and can honestly say they only serve the best .There is no other chip shop that can compare. The cod is skinless and boneless and chips just perfect...love their food and cannot rate them high enough..well done!! Living so close to the chippy it's a no brainer when the wife and I are not in the mood for cooking! (Usually a Friday)They have remodelled the interior in the last year, but it creates a nice ambience at which you can sit down and enjoy your meal.The staff are always friendly and attentive and we have never been let down by quality.I mainly opt for battererd sausage and a large chips (between my wife and I) as the portion chips can be quite large! No complaints there!Highly recommend!

I've recently moved nearer to the shop and on average I buy there 3 times a week and the service you get there is barr none as for the food it is out of this world not to mention that the ladies serving are all eye candy

I have lived in Panshanger for over 39 years. Ever since Lees Fish and Chip shop opened I have been a regular visitor. The food and service is second to none and has been all this time.When the premises moved from the balcony to ground floor they incorporated a restaurant which is inviting. I have just visited this afternoon and found they are making very impressive improvements to the restaurant in that it is now separate from the main shop. This will make the restaurant more personal and very cosy especially with the cold weather approaching.I take my hat off to them because they are always looking to improve things for their customers.I have no problem in recommending this Fish and Chip Shop/Restaurant to anyone. Food and service is faultless. Staff professional and polite.

Have visited Lees fish and chips shop many times and have never been disappointed by their food! Good quality and reasonably priced. The fish is skinless and boneless, not greasy at all. I highly recommend. We have since moved to London but we still make the 40 min journey to Lees to have fish and chips.

I owe this shop & its staff a very big 'I'M SORRY' because wrote a bad review about them last month. In that review I mentioned that the two women serving made me feel unwelcome by their attitude & the way they looked at me. I since found out that it was my fault because of me being abrupt & showing petulance towards them, especially after having a long stressful days driving. I now understand them not having certain foods when I get there because I usually arrive later in the evening. I bought a sausage in batter, chips & curry sauce from here on Tuesday & I have to say it was delicious. The staff there were very friendly as well. I feel both the quality of the food & the friendliness of the staff, would do well in any national chip shop competition, as this is the best chippy I've ever been to.

9 out of 10 times I come to this part time chip shop they don't have what I ask for, eg, pies, a battered sausage or curry sauce. I've just been in this shop & got the dirtiest looks possible from the 2 female staff, & this made me feel like never bothering with this chip shop again. The good isn't too bad, even though they an be stingy with their portions. How I wish the delicious PERI-JERK (the best takeaway ever with pleasant service) could open more than 3 nights a week.

Recently moving from London, I was spoilt for choice for food, and loved the local award winning chippy.Honestly, Lees Fish and Chips is on par with my former local chippy. The batter on the fish has always been crispy, generous, light, and tasty, whilst the fish remaining firm and juicy. The chips have always been perfectly fried, with a little colour, non-greasy, and fluffy inside.A regular customer!

We have been living in Welwyn Garden City for the for the past 5 years. After trying various fish & chips, this is by far the best in our area. Friendly staff and I usually call and place the order since it gets busy most times - a testament to the quality stuff they cook!Prices OK and so are quantities.Just a shame they are closed on Sundays and don't do cod roe...

The food here is excellent and the staff are friendly. Everything is reasonably priced and there is a free car park outside. I sometimes phone my order through which the staff are happy to accommodate particularly if I've ordered something that will take 5 to 10 mins to cook. They also have children's portions on the menu. There is seated area if you wish to eat in which many local fish and chip shops don't have.

I wasn't expecting the burger meat to taste so good! I like that their chips aren't as oily as other places. However, they did forget a part of my order which was a bit annoying.

Even though I have moved to Stevenage, I will travel back to WGC for my chip fixes. Whats quite amusing, is usually I won't eat chips, finding them too oily. I don't know how Lees does it but they are the only time I will sit and actively order chips. I'm not really a fish orderer so can't personally comment on the fish but my son says they have the best fish he's ever eaten and if we are in WGC will ask if we can pop in...

Used to get fish and Chips from Lees every week. Have been doing so for years. The foods is fantastic. But a few months ago they had run out of large cod. It was still early so obviously a cock up on their part. I asked Pete the owner if I could get 5 small cod for the price of 4 and was pretty much told to bog off. Having been a loyal customer for at least 10 years i was really put out and haven't used it since. I've taken my £800 fish and chip business elsewhere. They obviously don't want it.

I've eaten fish and chips from Lee's for many years and it just seems to get better and better! Compared to the down-at-heel chippy in WGC town-centre, Lee's at Panshanger shops scores highly for its ease of parking, smart and bright interior, plus great fish and friendly staff.

Food is good & staff friendly. The only downside is it closes at 9pm, & can be stingy with their rations
