Great food for a quick night out always our go to for the last 5 years especially if you can’t be bothered to cook. Get some quick cheap food

Looked very busy today when I went to collect my order but still got my food in a very fast time. Staff were lovely as always. Their food is always amazing today was no exception. This is why I only Order from lees cottage

As I have special dietary needs, We had an English meal thinking that it would be fine for me to eat but the menu didn’t state it was in a sauce that I could not eat. So I couldn’t eat it.

I have had lots of takeaways here over the years and I just wanted to say how good they have been recently. The service is always friendly and efficient and the food very tasty. My favourites are the sea bass dish, the spring rolls or noodles.

Very poor food,flys over the food and table dirty toilets bad service expensive. fly hanging paper. COMPLAINED to the manager he change fly papers got a fan but still flys coming. Avoid this restaurant WASTE of money 💰

Excellent service. Staff are friendly and responsive and there is never a long wait on the phone or for food. We have eaten in the restaurant several times with very large parties of 8 and have always been served well. Great quality food and service. I would recommend.

Ordered 3 chicken curry with chips and a pot of sauce. It was an awful meal.. the chicken was stringy, the curry had a strange almost bbq taste to it. The chips looked and tasted like re heats! Awful all round. All 3 of us did not enjoy the meal not finish it. Won't be returning.

We had a takeaway from here on Friday night and I can honestly say it was absolutely disgusting. Total waste of money the meat in the curry hadn’t even mixed in with the so called sauce, this tasted nothing like curry and wasn’t even a sauce it was like jelly. Would never visit this place again.

The chicken curry was delicious, the best I have had in a long time, I like how you can add rice with it for 20p extra, will definitely be back and would highly recommend

Ordered from here for a nice cheeky cheat night order chicken balls they were soggy and not crispy and dint really taste of anything and the sweets in sour sauce just had no taste to it the rice was dry and the curry just had no taste to it

I only use this as a take away but the food & staff are great.

Seeing recent reviews I wonder if they have a new chef. Usually our go to Chinese takeaway but this time it was not good. Prawn toasts tasted like chicken and had a strange texture, no sweet and sour sauce with the chicken balls which were so thick in spongy batter it was difficult to find the chicken! Egg fried rice was stodgy and most of it we threw out. We spent £42 and got no complimentary crackers! We live five miles from Eye so no point in taking stuff back.

Great food ate in on a Friday night and loved the place the staff made us feel very welcome and the head chef even came out and wished us a good night very personal dining experience would recommend for all affordable price and great portion sizes

Our takeaway was 2 meals short and one meal was totally wrong....when we rung back up young girl was polite ...we didn't want to go back so ask for a refund on the food we had not received and the wrong portion....but the chef refused....never will use the place again

Absolute rubbish, food was greasy chicken was dry and hard, batter very greasy and just tasted awful Waste of money threw most of it in the bin.

Have been several times & always had great food & great service but after tonight we will NEVER be coming back! Has changed hands ‘ it was a disgrace! Ordered vegetarian spring rolls & was told there would be a delay as they were being freshly made- eventually arrived but had prawns in them!! Overheard a waitress laughing & saying’ the head chef is drinking out of a measuring jug’!!!! Realised that it has been taken over & standards have collapsed. Would never recommend

Food is not as good as it was. Last time here, I had an excellent meal and didn't feel bloated when I left. This time, food was very glutinous, and I felt uncomfortable when I left. The chow main was dry and service poor. Young staff that need training. This is down to the restaurant owners.

An excellent new chef has now taken over this restaurant and along with a new front of house manager they are really turning the business around. The food was stunning and the service prompt with a new brighter feel to the restaurant than before. Highly recommended but book ahead as it gets really busy.

Found this Chinese last week and am so glad we did ! So tasty, definitely the best Chinese around. We have never tried it here and always gone to another one that definitely wasn’t great. Can’t believe this was here all along.

We had chicken curry with rice. Very tasty, we shared it as there was too much for 1

Got to say that after coming here for over ten years, tonights takeaway was probably the worst takeaway we have ever had. Soggy chips, uneadable mixed balls( the meat was so tuff and the batter under cooked) bland chicken chow main, bland duck chow main, pineapple rice with no flavour, soggy chilli beef with the worst sauce ever, not only was it cold part of the order was wrong! When we rang to complain about the wrong dish we were given all sorts of excuses. They did replace it and refund the dish but the replacement was also cold. Most of the dishes went straight in the bin. Paul is definitely missed here. We won't ever go back now. Gutted as it was once the best Chinese in the area 😢

Started using lee’s cottage on recommendations after our local one which we have used for years became super expensive and lacked flavour , I can honestly say the quantity and flavours are amazing! best Chinese meal we have had for a very long time !

Went here for Lunch had Starter, Mains, Desert all great flavours , our first visit, will be the place to go now on!

Good quantity and not bad tasting food hot and a wide variety of dishes. Just no atmosphere, service front of house watching TV which we could hear over the repetitive chinese music and lady wearing coat to serve just didn't feel very like a restaurant when you are being charged higher prices to eat in and drink with them. Perhaps on quiet nights in the week don't open as a restaurant just do takeaway only. Rose house wine was too sweet for my taste but Tiger beers good.

Is usually really nice but the last two times I've ordered the chips haven't been cooked properly and the rice has been missing.

Were on holiday in Eye. Really enjoyed the food and the setting/atmosphere. Had the mixed starter for 2 which was excellent. Tried a new dish to us "Nutty Chicken" - delicious (hot & spicy with a real depth of flavour). Staff (and locals) friendly and welcoming. It's not sophisticated but it is delightful. Would love to go again but live 3 hours drive away.

This used to be OK but on our last 2 visits the food wasn't great. Tasteless special fried rice and tasteless noodles. A real shame and we won't be returning.

A wonderful little restaurant in Eye serving delicious Chinese (or possibly Chinese inspired) food. The owner, Shirley is a great host, and gives each customer her personal care and attention. Highly recommended 👌

Food good, service needs bit more practice

Very dissapointing, the egg fried rice was overcooked, mushy and tasteless and the chips were very undercooked to the point of being hard and inedible, I don't understand how people that make food for a living can get something so simple so wrong.

We had the standard set meal for 2 and was very nice. Too much to eat so we took away uneaten for nice meal the following day. They are very popular for takeaways so not quite the full undisturbed sit in meal but very enjoyable meal nonetheless.

Quirky and friendly staff is all I can say. Food is just very poor. We both had the tom yum soup which tasted like the hot & sour soup just with tom yum ingredients (mushrooms, prawns). Not great. Crackers tasted greasy and old (chewy). Egg fried rice was ok but the black bean duck was not. Having had food poisioning here a while back this awful food is the last straw. Will use other china restaurant in town from now on.

Paul the owner and his young team provide excellent service and stunning hot food. The new chef has talent and flair and we have never had a bad meal from him. We had an excellent 80th Birthday party for 10 people and they treated us all so well with balloons and a rendition of "Happy Birthday" in Chinese from Shirley and her crew. Highly recommend - but book ahead for take-away and sit-in as they get really busy due to their fame spreading.

Stumbled upon this small and charming restaurant following an online search of local Chinese restaurants - looking for an alternative to the usual takeaway option. The ambience / atmosphere is cosy - a bijou and traditional interior full of charm and character. Hosts Paul & Poppy ensured a very warm welcome and the service was extremely attentive and interactive. Food was delicious and plentiful - a wide range of menu options to choose from including some very nice sounding sizzling dishes and house specialities. Will definitely be making a return visit soon. A small hidden away restaurant in this quaint Suffolk village. Booking is essential to guarantee a table and once inside this small converted restaurant, one can understand its popularity. Mr Lee maintains a firm guidance on his family staff ensuring his delicious meals are served quickly. The menu is huge, as one might expect, but there is no hurry to order as one enjoys a drink. Once a dish is chosen one is assured of a well cooked delicacy,

We wanted a gluten free meal and the person we talked to was extremely helpful. We thought we would have a very limited choice however there was lots to choose from and the food was delicious. The takeaway was quickly prepared and stayed lovely and hot.

Terrible service - cannot comment on the food as unfortunately we didn’t get our takeaway, placed an order with a 40 min wait, kids wanted kebab so we placed orders based around the Chinese waiting time, collected kebab and Chinese said they don’t have our order and it wasn’t completed over the phone - couple of youngsters holding up reception really didn’t care, and claimed that we didn’t place an order correctly. Never again

We were recommended Lees cottage by a friend recently and I must say what a lovely meal! Ready at the time we asked for, piping hot and lovely flavours! Will definitely be back soon!

We just had a week in Eye and were happy to find Lee's Cottage was open for us to dine in as we'd been a year earlier and really liked it. Our 10 year old is a big fan of this place and asked if we could meet my sister and her son there as a late birthday treat. All five of us had great food - and in fact we had such a nice time the three of us returned a few days later. We never normally eat out that often, or have Chinese that regularly! Possibly the highlight of this place is Mr Lee himself, who is so friendly and charming and couldn't make you feel more welcome.

We go here every week for our take away treat. We're always greeted with a warm friendly smile, and a quick service which we cannot ever fault. Been lovely to get to know Paul, and share in his passion for good food. You'll love it!!

Well, I keep going back whether it is for a takeaway during the Pandemic or before when you could sit in. The staff are really nice. The owner is amusing and generally wears a waistcoat and the food is really, really good. I have had a very nice time every time I have been there.

Really accommodating if you want to make changes, efficient and friendly service, all COVID precautions in place. I suspect the set meal A (for one) will become a firm favourite - it tends to do me two meals, too!
