Always look forward to cake and cuppa after our weekly walk to Leekes. Service is good and staff are very pleasant, especially Cassey where nothing is too much trouble.

My daughter wanted to purchase a leather sofa , she wanted to think it through so we decided to have a coffee. I have a loyalty card so we ordered a tea and coffee, I was told to get the free tea we needed to order additional item, we asked for french fries but were told they weren’t doing anymore cooking, so I had a cake, the coffee was fine, my cup wasn’t clean ,the tea was so weak i stirred it so much the teabag brook, ( I noticed another customer sent her tea back ) unfortunately there were two young girls working behind the counter, who did their best, but I think need training or put someone in charge to supervise , would I go back most definitely no

Popped to leekes with the family & decided to stop off at the cafeteria for some lunch. What a wonderful experience. The service was great, very friendly staff. The food was exceptional & I hit with the whole family, very tasty! Nothing was too much trouble for your employee “Vicky” she was a lovely lady & very helpful. Will definitely be returning. Great job Leekes.

We popped into this cafe last Saturday for a snack and drink. The cafe is being renovated but was open for business. I say ‘open’ but what I ought to say is that the cafe and its staff couldn’t be bothered to ‘open’. There were two young women serving but neither seemed interested in that process. They seemed lazy, unperturbed by the delays and generally totally uninterested in their job.They were so slow! The person ‘cooking’ seemed just as uninterested in the job. There were very few options or choices of food. I settled on a coronation chicken panini. When it eventually arrived the bread was slightly warm but the filling was very cold. I returned it to the counter and asked for my money back. I got that but without a word of explanation or an apology for the entire experience. If this company wants to keep the cafe open during the renovations then it ought to ensure it is properly staffed and with ample food. We would not return here.

Sadly we stood waiting for ages before anyone acknowledged us, then we ordered 2 meals, which we smothered in salt, which was not pleasant...the cups were very stained, and the floors were filthy, they had not been cleaned for a while by the looks of them, the same went for the seating and tables. This is such a pity. A lovely young lady who served me on the tills downstairs was a credit to leekes. I understand they are going through a large refurbishment so fingers crossed they update th cafe

Great coffee served in a lovely setting. Friendly staff in store and my panini was absolutely delicious. Light and airy space - perfect place to stop while browsing this fabulous store. Wide range of options from hot food to snacks, sweet treat and loads of drinks to choose from.

Visited the cafe on Tuesday while shopping in the store. Lovely lunch and fantastic service from Kelly. I will definitely be visiting again.

Fantastic cafe with lovely helpful staff, food was spot on, quick & clean service. Couldnt ask for more. Danielle & ida went above and beyond !

Pros Well spaced out, well lit. Nice range of seating options. Feels calm. Serving staff at the till were friendly and upbeat. Cons No vegan options except chips I could find. Menu doesn’t have anything indicated on it at all, like GF or vegetarian labels. Food is ok but not all that well done. Kitchen/ordering Feels bit like a supermarket cafe, not what you’d expect from somewhere a bit nicer. Minor gripe - Didn’t have any straws. Overall Decent but not classy in any way

My Wife and I stopped at the cafe while shopping at Leekes. There was lipstick on the rim of my wife's cup when she was about to take her first sip. She returned it to the counter and was given another cup of coffee in return. I had a Gamon Salad. There was loads of thick gamon ham and a lovely Apricot chutney, but disappointed with the content of the Salad. Very basic! Sliced lettuce, cucumber, tomato and pepper. Coleslaw was missing! I asked for some mayonnaise and was told that someone would bring it over but, never arrived.

Fabulous service and lovely food today at the Mezz. Felt safe with the COVID measures they gave in place too. Best panini I have had in a very long time.

I visited on the 7/7/2021, I have had many coffees and cakes and always enjoyed every bit. When I visited on Wednesday I saw that there had been a new item added to the menu, I asked my waitress Kelly (sorry I’m sure that was her name?) about the chicken burger and the way she described it I had to try it. I was not disappointed it was lovely, came with chips, onion rings and coleslaw, lovely portions and it tasted amazing! Thanks again for the great food and service. I highly recommend you visit and give the food a go!

Visited this cafe for the first time recently and really really enjoyed. It was an enjoyable experience from start to finish. The cafe was spotlessly clean and the personal touch from the lady Kelly who worked there was superb she was so friendly and made us feel extremely safe due to the current situation. Won't hesitate to visit again and recommend to others. Thank you!!!!

Can't speak highly about this cafe based in the Leekes store Llantrisant. Very well managed under COVID-19 which makes me feel safe. However the best thing is the service offered to us by Kelly. She has great service, attitude and her friendly nature makes us laugh in these times of bad news.

I am blown away with our visit on 21/11/2020 with the high level of customer service at Mezz, the cafe was full the staff rushed off their feet but our server Kelly was still high spirited an made us feel valued. The food was served hot and was delicious. I was also impressed with how Kelly and the other staff members were able to keep high level Covid cleaning and distances even though they were so busy. We were spoken to whist waiting in the queue and made aware of wait times as were the rest of the queue. Only recommendation I might have for cafe is to have a QR code I could scan whilst in the queue to register my track and trace details to save sometime when first being sat down. Thanks again to all the staff who made our visit a great one, see you all again soon

I popped into leeks to get a couple of things and only realised there was a cafe by chance. My boy has a few dietary requirements nothing major but a staff member Kelly was at hand to help out, nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely be back with the whole family. Thanks again Kelly for putting me at ease an not making me feel like a pain.

Called into leekes for a quick coffee and sandwich, lovely pleasant young girl served me called Danielle. Clare the cook made a lovely prawn mayo sandwhich and kelly came to my table to see if everything was ok. Fabulous service by all staff. Will return.

Popped In on my lunch break I have visited a few times, a fabulous cafe with excellent service especially from Kelly who served me, food was also excellent will definitely be going back soon.

We had a quick drop-in to Leekes at Llantrisant yesterday to escape the rain and to get a coffee....with the option of cake (if I was really good!).We were served by a lovely girl, Chloe, for whom nothing was too much trouble. Service with a genuine smile!Once we had engaged, it was clear that all of the staff carried the same customer service ethos and the whole experience was lovely!Many thanks to Chloe for making the sun shine through the rain.

I came into leekes to look at the sofas, noticed the Café was serving a Carvery so i thought i would give it a try. Im glad i did! The Beef dinner was lovely and very flavourful.Sasha served me both on carvery and the till, she was such a lovely person with a warm smile, she even tempted me into a cake which was delicious. I can't wait to return!

Two staff serving at 1.30, one in kitchen & one on the till ? Only wanted a three tea’s & sandwiches. Kitchen asking for good to be taken to tables who can do it when the one other person is taking orders & serving drinks.When two others do eventually come to help surprisingly things improve. And both staff had some go about them. Surly there should be more staff present this time of day !

Excellent Cafe, Delicious Cakes and Lovely meals. As a regular visitor to the Cafe the food and service is always great. Especially Danielle who is always friendly and helpful.

Visited for first time for a lunchtime meal. We both had the chicken breast in mushroom sauce. It was absolutely delicious! The other choices looked really appetizing as well. Two meals for £10 - excellent value. We will definitely be back.

Took my mother shopping at leekes llantrisant today and noticed there was two meals for £10. I had steak and ale pie chips peas and gravy. My mother had faggots peas and chips and it was delicious. Good value for money. Lovely atmosphere

Visited leekes cafe last week, was served by a lovely, polite and helpful member of staff Danielle. My friend and I both had Turkey rolls which were really nice and would definitely have again.

Had a meeting at Leekes Crosshands and dropped in to the Restaurant for a coffee with my colleague. We had fantastic service at the counter where the staff couldn’t do enough to make sure we were happy with our purchase.

Decided to treat my mother to afternoon tea as ive seen it advertised on Facebook. You can choose from a selection of sandwiches and cakes. And it just cost £9.95 for two people.

For this week from 2pm until 4.30 pm, £9.99 per couple - absolutely first class afternoon tea deal, a choice of sandwiches and crisps; cakes, scones with clotted cream. We had a cappuccino and a flat white instead of tea, same price. Not sure how they do it for the price, excellent value and quality, not to mention the usual exceptional and friendly service by the lovely Leekes girls.

Me and my wife had been in store doing a bit of shopping and decided to call to the cafe for some lunch. Got to say what a pleasure it was. Was served by a lovely young girl named danielle who was so friendly and nothing was a problem to her. Really enjoyed, excellent service and amazing food. Will definitely be returning.

I visited the cafe for breakfast . The cafe was very clean with no cluttered tables and had a very relaxed atmosphere. I was served by two ladies: Emma and Teresa, they were very friendly and extremely efficient in taking and delivering my order, all of which was done with a very cheery and approachable demeanour. I noticed that when they were quiet and no customers they went around the cafe making sure tables were clean and tidying anything that needed so there was never any mess. They were very engaging and had a smile and friendly word for everyone.

Me and my wife came in for a coffee and a cake. We had 2 cappuccinos and 2 lovely cakes from the counter, sasha served us on the till, she even carried our tray as my wife is in a wheelchair.

Visited here on Thursday afternoon for coffee and a snack for my young boy.

Had a jacket potato and prawns food was lovely and hot. All staff were very friendly and the service by Tina was great. The only problem I had was that the cafe area was uncomfortable with the heat no air conditioning x

Called In for a quick coffee today and my wife I I decided to have a bite to eat . Paninis was amazing which Kelly made fresh to order and was very helpful asking did we want mayo coleslaw or anything else to go with it .defo worth a visit guys very helpful and smiley staff

On a spur of the moment shopping trip, I popped into Leekes with my elderly mother and had a quick lunch in their cafe.

Ordered tea from the miserable young lady at counter, had to fetch tray from other end of cafe after asking where they were, then had to place purchases on the tray myself after she’d left them on the counter and wondered off - only to find I then had to ask for a clean cup! I consider Leekes to be a relatively high end store and would have expected the service at the cafe to match

After shopping in Leekes for many years I haven’t ever had the opportunity to visit the cafe. I was delighted with my first visit, the food was delicious and so much more on offer than the usual sandwiches and panini’s.

Stopped at Leekes to look around their bathroom display, made time for a cup of coffee. The counter was full of wonderfully tempting food, with the loveliest team of staff all just waiting to help me make my choice.

Visited store at lunchtime with hungry family. Asked for recommendation for something to eat and a helpful member of staff called Clare Jones mentioned that the chilli was nice. It was just perfect and my wife’s cauliflower cheese was also lovely. My daughter had the chicken curry and judging by the empty plate it was also very good. All in all highly recommended.

Popped to store for a look around, went to the mez café lovely and clean coffee tasted amazing a nice chilled morning. Will be back.

Lovely modern seating with nice food menu and if you open a privellige card you get free filter coffee and tea Monday to Friday or pay £1.50 for latte etc They have a great menu , lovely

We were served by a lovely lady called Clare very helpful, friendly and efficient. We enjoyed a lovely cup of tea a d then had a wander around the store.

I live in Swansea and was asked by my son and daughter in law to look after my 9-month grandson, who lives in Bridgend. I took the opportunity to visit Leekes in Llantrisant. Whilst there I visited the restaurant for lunch which was tasty and nicely cooked. My visit to the restaurant was made all the more special by the friendly, courteous and helpful staff which sadly is too often missing today. I would like to give a special mention for a lady named Danielle. I am a 60yr old gentleman and trying to organise a 9-month-old baby for lunch can be rather challenging. Danielle was so helpful, sorting a highchair, bringing my lunch to the table as I didn't want to leave the baby and offering to get me a drink after, again to save me from leaving the baby on his own, what a wonderful member of staff. Thank you, Danielle and I look forward to my next visit to the restaurant at Leekes

Such a lovely afternoon here today. Brought by aunt here today for a few hours out and some coffee and cake.

Our first visit to Leekes Llantrisant for a coffee and cake. A really friendly atmosphere, clean and fantastic service. The lady on the till (Danielle) was very friendly, helpful and always smiling which is rare to see these days! As we arrived, a lady called Kelly came to greet us good morning - definitely will be returning. First class service!

I don’t expect much from a department store cafe but this really was lovely. Quality of the food and drink was excellent and had a nice friendly service from Clare.

I visited Leekes yesterday with my mum and visited the cafe for the first time and had to return again today!

Popped in Leekes to get some paint and decided to go up upstairs to the restaurant. Had a coffee, very pleasant and helpful lady served me Clare. Clare also went through the details of the privilege card I declined this time but will probably get one next time. Highly recommended

Popped in for a bite to eat and had a really tasty hot panini with ham and mustard with a generous salad garnish. All washed down with a pot of tea.

I visited Leekes of Llantrisant on 8th March looking for a particular vacuum cleaner. I was served by Tracey who was friendly and helpful. She demonstrated the item well. I did buy it and am very happy with it .

Visited here for lunch, but even though the food was okay, the cleanliness was quite poor. Dirty finger prints all over the painted wall next to the table, and crumbs everywhere. The menus were all sticky and had food debris all over.

Stood at till being ignored whilst at least four staff milled about.

Came to have a little browse around the store and decided to have a spot of lunch, Clare served us 2 jacket potatoes and coffees, which were lovely, friendly and helpful staff..

Went to Leekes today to buy a bed. As it was lunchtime we decided to have some lunch in their restaurant. It was fairly busy but they had a lot of staff working so the queue moved quickly. We ordered 2 toasties and a jacket potato. We watched the waitress write this down and paid for the food and took a seat. We were then waiting for around 20mins at least whilst many other orders came out for other tables which had been served after us. We stopped one waitress to ask how long our food would be and she rudely replied to say she did not know who served us?!?

I came in today for coffee and cake.

While waiting in queue could just hear assistant telling people over and over that there was none of what they asked for left. Even a simple salad couldn’t be served as they had run out of lettuce.

Absolutely terrible customer service at the pontypcun store. Bought a hot tub that was broken and was told we would be given a new one. Now been told that we cannot get a new one and have wasted all time waiting. Thanks leekes for disappointing my family and wasting our money

As you enter the store, the sign says cafe open now. It's 2.30 and there's no food. Very misleading and infuriating. Cafe is only open for drinks so make that clear. State when hot food is being served!

Just visited Leekes of Llantrisant as we have done for the last 20 years.

My colleague and I were in need of lunch and Leekes was handy. A very unprepossessing exterior led us to not expect much, but the cafe was a revelation. Clean and bright, with friendly staff, good food and excellent coffee.

Called in for a drink and light snack at 2:30. Told the only choice we had was what we saw on the counter. Little disappointed so chose muffins and drinks. Shocked that a muffin cost £3.25! If I'd known wouldn't have bothered! Even more shocked when the girl behind the counter started putting the paninis together, wrapping them in cling film and putting them in the fridge (this was only about 3pm). Even the one salad was wrapped and put in fridge presumably for the next day. Shocking!

Just queried my receipt, £3.25 for a muffin. That is seriously taking 'The Michael' They don't charge that much in Costa, not impressed. Would be interested to hear the thoughts of Leekes Management.

What a let down! People being turned away as restaurant closes at 1pm - either run out of hot food or can’t manage orders. It’s not usually up to much but today’s unbelievable. scones cold / frozen and no hot food available, cluttered tables and reduced amount of seating so people standing waiting for a table.... give it a miss. Leekes up your game this is just not on.

nice basic cafe ideal for a department store. However the staff could do with some training they find it hard to cope if there are more than 3/4 people at the counter at the same time

Visited just after franchise took over and gone down hill, no familiar welcoming faces, dirty tables and then the boy at the till handled miney and went to take my burnt tea cake out of the toaster, I mentioned to him about not wearing gloves and handling coins and didn't seem to understand, ditto the burnt tea cake happened three times because he didn't think to move the knob on the toaster with the heat readings. My visit was very Dissappointing and will not return, have been a customer for many years together with family and friends

Myself and my husband have just called into Leekes looking for wallpaper. We haven't been in a while (probably about 4 years). Fancying a coffee we went to the Gallery Café. The last time we were here it wasn't great but what a difference! I honestly didn't know which cake to choose. The young lady was so helpful and a pleasure to speak to. She suggested the croissant, which I had with butter and a little pot of jam. My husband was swayed with the breakfast (a large one). The coffee and food was absolutely fabulous and the young lady that suggested the croissant was spot on, it was delicious. It is such a shame that the seating area is at the side now instead of in front of the café. We always used to enjoy sitting at the top of the stairs looking over.

We decided to pop in to Leekes and went to the coffee shop for lunch. There was a selection of meats for a roast on the hot counter which looked a tad dry. We decided to opt for burger on ciabatta with chips and salad. A wait which we expected as we thought the food would be cooked to order. However this was not the case and the burger and roll were heated in a microwave!! Incredibly dense, soggy and dry. Three hours later the indigestion from what I did eat is dreadful! Total rubbish

Haven’t been to Leekes for a long time. Went today ‘Sunday’ decided to go and have a cuppa and cake and what a huge disappointment this was! Plenty of empty seats just tables full of dirty dishes! The counter area was filthy! 2 girls didn’t even acknowledge us too busy gossiping. A male in the kitchen area on his mobile phone! This used to be a lovely pit stop for food or just a cuppa. Not sure what’s happened but we left and won’t be returning! (To the cafe not the store itself)

Only popped in to look at the kitchen goods clearance but ended up having breakfast. Lovely cakes, the chocolate muffin was to die for. It was a shame that the coffee machine wasn't working (looks like they were fitting new ones) as I really wanted a proper coffee. Food looked really nice. My friend had a breakfast and said the sausages were lovely. Going to go again.

We were in the area and having had good food on several occasions in Leekes, at Crosshands, we thought we’d have lunch in the Llantrisant store. We were shocked at how bad it was!

Unable to give an opinion on the food we would've had today as we decided to walk out at 12.20 after standing.... and standing.... and standing just waiting for the staff to put the food on display let alone serve us..the staff seemed too interested in other things to bother about serving customers.

Loved to pop in for cuppa lattee and Chelsea bun or similar but now meals and larger snacks have taken over so don't visit as often, as it was not what we fancied and too expensive. The staff are all superb so a shame.

Visited today. Hardly any selection at 3.50 in the afternoon. All food cleared away. Staff seemed only interested in getting ready to finish despite the cafe being reasonably busy and customers queuing behind me. The tray I picked up was absolutely coated in hardened ketchup and goodness knows what so I had to change it for another not quite so dirty one! Then the cups they gave me were filthy - looked as if they had already been used. They were changed on request. I asked for 4 plates for our cakes and was told I'd have to wait as they didn't have any. Eventually the lady had a good rummage under the counter and found 4 plates. I was handed back 50p without explanation as they had run out of cream for the scone. The customers behind be also commented about the poor service and to be honest I suddenly felt a bit sad for leekes as I have been coming here since I was a little child and it always felt like a treat but today's visit was a little more tricky to enjoy.

My partner and I thought we would visit Leekes as we have not visited since we were both very young. The coffee shop has moved (probably a long time ago!!) from being next to the door to being upstairs and is in a much larger space. The coffee shop has potential but the cake and food options were quite generic which was a bit disappointing, especially as there are quite a few competing coffee shops just up the road in Pontyclun and Llantrisant. We may have been a bit late in the day and the options may have been better earlier on.
