Service all good and professional for getting a takeaway, but food had very little amount of chicken in sweet and sour, not the best quality either.

This was a delivery I have never been let down with Lee Garden until now. The sweet and sour sauce was awfully runny like soup The meatballs were too brown which means old cooking fat The prawn crackers some were a yellow colour probably from old cooking fat I’ve not even tried the chow main yet Overall very dissatisfied won’t be using them again

I have had a few meals here, nice front of house staff and all that jazz. 10% service charge as others have mentioned a bit unnecessary. Food is "traditional" Chinese restaurant style, maybe an expanded menu could be an idea.

Absolutely delious food. Had set banquet meal for two. Black Bean Sauce was so tasty. Only thing to fault is 10% service charge. Would have tipped otherwise.

Food was good, however there is a hidden 10% service charge, for all group sizes, added to the bill at the end. This isn't America and isn't how things are done. The 10% should be added to the upfront price list, so there are no surprises when the bill arrives. This aspect soured our visit.

First time we have used this Chinese Service was very quick but the food was not up to started at all the chips were rock hard and the ribs/other dishes were not very nice or well seasoned at all unfortunately we won’t be using them again

I am a London top 10 reviewer and a food business owner. I wanted to point these, as nowadays most of the reviews are not genuinely written, and no from customers that they really had your food! I might be wrong by saying that...(I wish I was) 😊 We are going quite often to Dorchester, and over the several years we have been here, at Lee Garden, for a bunch of special occasions. We have been very satisfied, happy, and pleased for absolutely anything and everything, each time we eat there. Last time, goodness me, what a beautiful, tasty food. I can say apart from one in London, Lee Garden has made me understand what Chinese cuisine is about, and how everything is presented with such a kind smile and passion by this amazing your waiter, Ifan (?) It wasn't a special occasion this time, but we felt much more than that, I guess because of the atmosphere, vibe, and lovely food, which we definitely have enjoyed extremely much! ( We had 1st set menu for 2, from the menu lists, and it was very much food. Of course, a bottle of Pinot Grigio, as to complement the food, new make wichi i loved it) I'm already making plans ahead for our next meals in there 😋

The food was terrible the spare ribs were cut in to small bits the battered prawns were cooked from frozen the staff are rude and very abrupt. We have eaten here loads of times. But never agin !!!!!!!!

Disappointed with the food we ordered. Both dishes were over £7 each which is about average. Except, Tasteless ribs, quite expensive for the quality received. Hopefully picture shows a good representation. house special fried rice was really just boiled rice with a small amount of egg and one or two small rubbery shrimps small amount of veg and three small slices of dubious looking chicken and pork. Maybe it is better if you eat in.

Food, service and atmosphere was amazing! The food was hot, brought to us in a timely fashion and tasted great! The service from staff was everything I'd hope for when ordering in a place like this absolutely nothing to complain about there. The atmosphere was something else - I just couldn't stop looking around it was fantastic! ...and when we made a mistake with reading the correct price on the menu the staff were more than understanding and accommodating to us as we gathered the remainder of the money we were short. Very nice.

The most incredible fresh Chinese food where, unusually these days, all the dishes have individual flavours. Fantastic efficient service and very reasonable prices. Thank you, we’ll be back!

The food is ok but the service!!! We arrived with our son, his wife and a 2 year old at 6:40. We ordered straight away and then asked for some prawn crackers for the 2 year old. The restaurant wasn't busy and after 30 minutes we were all getting a bit hungry especially the 2 year old. It became obvious that they are doing great takeaway business here and that our order had to fit in. Strange that, people waiting at home in comfort when we are trying to amuse a 2 year old - clearly you have your priorities all wrong. Doing this for an hour and a quarter was no fun - it really spoilt it for our son. There are only so many trips to see the fish before it gets boring!!! The crackers came after the starters but at least you agreed not to charge us for them. Mains came at 7:55 - again fitting around the steady stream of takeaway orders. An observation, the special rice and noodles - shredding what you put in into very small pieces doesn't make it look special as you cannot determine what's in there: the Pork Kung Po was a bit over cooked and the Chicken in yellow bean sauce (as ordered on the menu) isn't what most people would recognise as being Hoi Sin Sauce, so you told us ( as delivered and itemised on the bill - I would think most accept this a plum based sauce). Finally a Becks no alcohol bottle of beer. I questioned your charge of £4.50 twice knowing this was a total rip off. Tesco sell 15 bottles for £8. Given we spent £110 you had the opportunity to do the right thing but didn't. We came some time ago and forgot why we didn't rush back - we wont forget this time,

Ignore all 5 star reviews if you understand and want proper Chinese food. Substandard food at London prices. Nothing wrong with paying that much but food quality should then be great. Ordered all vegetarian and only one dish was nice. Eaten a lot Chinese before and this is definitely not authentic. Wrong guidance and got us to over order. Sugary and salty food.

This is our regular go to Chinese when in Dorchester. The food is excellent and very reasonably priced. The restaurant is quiet small and always busy, so highly recommend booking first especially at weekends. We often order takeaway.

Really lovely staff but food not quite up to the mark. Soup base very watery with little flavour and spicy dishes way to much chilli which cancelled out any subtle tastes there may have been. Would try again another night and different selection to see if it was better.

Brilliant Hospitality and Food. Hostess was so welcoming. My son Ryan stated it was the best Chicken Fried Rice he had ever had! All our food that night was top notch.

We have used the take away delivery service on several occasions. The food is fantastic quality, always hot and the order is complete. Just eat delivery driver is excellent, either on time or early. Extremely polite and friendly. Highly recommended.

Haven't had such good spring rolls from a Chinese in so long. Very very good quality food. The gentleman that served me had great customer service also. I'll definitely be returning soon, most likely for a sit in meal.

The food was liquidy. It tasted like slightly flavoured water. The vegetables consisted mainly of bean sprouts, cabbage over cooked and largely not flavoured. The lamb was minimal. Best bit was the prawns.

We were looking for a Chinese restaurant which was open on a Sunday evening in Dorchester and found Lee Garden. We enjoyed our meal at this restaurant. We had sweet and sour chicken, noodles and special fried rice. We were given some prawn crackers whilst our food was being prepared. The service was very attentive and the restaurant is nicely decorated. We would recommend if you are staying in the area.

Visited this restaurant last evening with three members of my family. Atmosphere very good even though only one other couple there. We had a good choice of food including vegetarian served promptly with attention to detail. Thoroughly recommended.

Got takeaway for seven and the food was all fine but not wow.The phone order and timing was spot on and service was very polite.

We’ve been to the restaurant a couple of times but usually plump for a takeaway. Having tried the others in town, Lee Garden is now the preferred menu by us and our family, who visit often and are keen Chinese and oriental food lovers. We live 6 miles in the sticks but the food is always well packed, freshly cooked, piping hot and travels well. Crispy duck is always good, kung-po hot and spicy, sweet and sour great, chop suey the best and the portion sizes generous. Writing this has made me hungry so just of to pick up tonight’s offering.

I have been staying in Poundbury about 3 days a month since August and only found this restaurant when I did an online search for a dine in Chinese. I booked a table for 2 at 7pm and was able to park outside as free parking after 6pm. The resaurant was spotless and tastefully decorated with soothing music in the background. We ordered sweet and sour pork, chicken in black bean with green peppers, an egg fried rice to share and some prawn crackers. everything was so tasty and fresh and was the best sweet and sour I have ever had. The staff were so friendly and polite. The take away menu was much cheaper but next time I am in Poundbury I will return 😘

I booked a table for a birthday meal with work friends. Food was lovely but a £30 service charge was added to the bill without our prior knowledge. We were not given the option to decline but we’re told we had to pay it! Prices have already gone up and I thought how cheeky it was to slap yet another high charge on top! I have been there a few times but will not be returning again! Very disappointed!

This was take out. On time. Could not eat it. Glutinous soup. Dreadful Chow Mein. For the prawns with ginger and onions it was mostly onions swimming in a watery sauce.

Eat at Lee Garden this evening as I have every other week since staying for work in Dorchester for the last 6 months. The meal was superb as was the service, the couple that run the restaurant really care about what they do and I wouldn't hesitate in recommending you try a meal there.

Don't take notice of 5 *! Terrible food, terrible service, profit over customers, overpriced and very rude owner. Dirty run down toilets. Tried this restaurant having seen so many good reviews but could not have been more wrong. The main courses being worst. Duck with spring onion and ginger, and Prawn with spring onion and ginger. What a disgusting glupe of stewed salty onions (not spring onions) to pad out the dish with terrible gristle duck or mine having seven small prawns. Service was terrible (we were there over 3.5 hours) with numerous takeaways going out whist we were ignored. Complained to the waiter the following day who argued and shouted me down, telling me I was wrong due to his numerous 5* s and that I should have complained at the time in front of my in laws (The meal was our treat to celebrate their birthdays)! NEVER will I set foot in this place again.

Barbecue pork (Char Siu) is rather disappointing, doesn’t have the charred layer or barbecue sweet aroma, just slices of boiled pork with a gluey sauce pour on top. Szechuan tofu is more like sweet and sour pork with bean curd rather than silky tofu, we think if they swap the recipe with a savoury , peppery , hearty hot sauce like mapo tofu will be more welcoming. Singapore noodle is quite authentic, only if they spend a bit of effort spreading the paste evenly instead of having a spoonful of paste stuck with the noodle to trip you up then it is close to perfect. Really good services and atmosphere though, would come back and try on other dishes.

Eaten there this evening can highly recommend the food. I had tempura prawns for starters and my partner had chicken & sweetcorn soup. All very tasty. We both had lemon chicken with chicken chow mein. It was lovely. Would go again when next in Dorchester.

Excellent food and service, came here on Xmas eve last year and were the only customers for the first 2 hours but still got excellent service. This Xmas eve nothing has changed. Highly recommend the food very very tasty.

On visiting the area I identified this restaurant as probably the best Chinese restaurants and I was not disappointed.I had chicken noodle soup to start followed by lemon chicken and fried soft noodle with prawns.Everything just right.Forst class service.

Went here on Saturday night (14th August 2021) Booked a table for the 4 of us. Lovely place, very clean and modern, excellent atmosphere and staff. I will say its the best Chinese meal we have ever had. 10 out of 10.

Mainly good food but on this occasion I felt the prawn toast was over cooked. Very fast service. It was impossible to find a parking space outside or close to the restaurant or anywhere safe to 'drop off' which was needed with two passengers with restricted mobility. Please bear this in mind if you are planning to dine here.

Fantastic food staff were very friendly

We had a lovely evening meal here. The staff were friendly and attentive and the food was fantastic! We also dined alongside Dorchester’s Gold Medal winner from London 2012 so that was a bit exciting too.

Chicken chow mien consisted of noodles, no chicken, no beansprouts. Phoned to complain and was offered free meal. They then changed their mind when we asked for the free meal a week later, offering 10% off! So rude and argumentative on the phone! DONT USE THEM!!

Staying at the lovely Kings Arms in High East Street, spotted Lee Garden and decided to visit for dinner. Very glad we did, it is hard to get good Chinese food outside of London, and this was a great find, firstly ice cold Tsingtao beer....

Family of four and everyone complimented the chef. My son said it was “the best Chinese Restaurant in England” even better than our local restaurant in Scotland, and it’s good!
