Really enjoyed it! Those Lamb pastry’s are very nice!

The place looks inviting, the food is great also. However, it was a little difficult ordering as the waitress did not understand what we were asking. I asked if there was beer on draught, but she did not understand. I just ordered a bottle. I later found out there is no draught served only bottles, which are quite expensive, nearly £4 for a 300ml bottle. So, come to ordering food, 2 of my party ordered wraps - pointing to it on the menu as her English didn't seem too good. The food came, very good quality, very tasty and worth the money. Only thing was, the two who ordered wraps, didn't get wraps at all, but just left it at that due to the difficulty in ordering food. Apart from that little issue, everything was great. Food absolutely gorgeous and staff very polite and friendly. Would I go back, yes, would I recommend this place, definitely. Only thing I would say is make sure you are clear with your order. Update 06/04/24: My wife and her friend were there about 4.30pmish, food was good as always - final service TERRIBLE. First of all, they were overcharged and when my wife spoke to the girl who served her - the girl said she couldn't do anything about the refund of the overcharge, as the manager wasn't available. My wife stood her ground and eventually received her refund of the over charged bill. Also, people were calling up on the phone, the girl said something to the man she was working with and herad him say, "just block the numbers..." - is this more people who have been overcharged and tried to get their money back?? Terrible service, this lets the place down - with think long and hard before returning, and if we do, we will scrutinize our bill, as i suggest you do, before paying!!!

Absolutely disgusted with place came 2 nights ago ended up with food poisoning got Jordan the managers number however no response we will be taking this further

Chicken tasted totally different to when we’ve previously ordered, not as nice

My experience was very average. The server spent more time talking to friends at another table than serving customers. The food was good, but not great. Atmosphere is good but feels a bit old inside...

I've eaten here on a regular basis, both in the restaurant and ordering takeaway. Food is great! I'm definitely a fan of the mixed kofta or shish taouk (either as a main course or a wrap). Lunchtime prices are very reasonably priced also. Staff are friendly and helpful. I'd recommending booking as it can get busy in peak times.

Fast delivery. The food was great: tabbouleh, sambousek and kallaj all delicious. I especially liked the seasoned chips and the garlic sauce.

It's OK. We had a chicken shaway each, which was quite nicely spiced, although the half chicken was edging towards dry, but everything was rescued for me by the fantastic Lebanese lemonade with a hint of mint. I was actually glad I was the nominated driver. Delicious.

Wraps were great, and pizza. Burger was undercooked and had a piece of metal inside! Went in bin!

Disappointed for wife's 40th birthday. Waited 15 mins before anyone came to take any of our order. The starters came with the main courses instead of before , too much food at once to eat which ended up wasted. My wife's food was forgotten about which she had to wait longer again for which by this time the rest of the table was finished eaten. Very noisey, couldn't hear what each was saying because of the noise of students at the other side of the restaurant swearing shouting cheering and breaking glasses. We were sat next to the door which let a very cold draft in whenever anyone came in or out making is all cold. The door is constantly open with just eat and takeaway orders folk exiting and entering the restaurant. Terrible experience for the family for wife's 40th birthday.

unfortunately when we got the food it was cold, nothing worse than cold garlic bread! chips were missing from order although we did get xtra sauce that we didn't order,Rang to complain but honestly wasn't worth it v disappointed having always had good service in the past

Took two hours for delivery of food; restaurant were not helpful and didn't follow through on callback promises and even hung up. Driver was uninterested and came across quite rude. Food was just to say warm when it arrived but as I'm 8 months pregnant, I accepted because I'm hungry. The halloumi is rock hard, as are the chips so they are inedible. The parmo is soggy, but at least it's warm-ish. Done with this place - will be going elsewhere in future. This experience has really spoiled my evening.

What a fantastic place for a quiet, late lunch. Excellent food- took a little while to come - definitely not fast food! It was freshly prepared (I was sitting next to the kitchen) - well worth waiting for! Unhurried, unhassled and not over priced for their lunch time menu (available until 5pm!).

Tasty food, big portions. Mixed starters plate was excellent! A great option for those visiting the Cathedral!

The food was old I have to send it back

Ordered 2 wraps, chips, halloumi, rice and hummus. - chilli sauce was sour as if off - hummus bread was stale and dry - got only a few chips which were cold on delivery - no halloumi in wrap Phoned to complain and got told there was no order. Delivery over 90 minutes later. Called up and got offered a portion of chips and halloumi by this point it was far too late. Left a review on Uber and got asked to email the restaurant for them to put it right - they then ignored my messages.

Good food, the Lebanese lemonade is as good as the menu promises. Service was a bit slow and music was a bit loud, temp a bit chilly (but I am someone who generally prefers a higher temp so thats a me problem). Portion size was great - I am glad I only got a main without starters as I wad duper full with myh dish already! Would go there again.

Ordered from here for the last 4 years. Always been spot on. Got an order tonight, excellent delivery, perfect rice, veg beautifully smoky..disappointment was what I consider to be anaemic chicken and very little flavour. Chicken been cut in such big chuncks we missing out more' so on flavour on top of little flavour added in first place. All chicken cooked thoroughly yet I struggled for flavour. Shame I feel due to cost and track history, hope they pick ot back up because in my opinion one of the best in town.

Had a vegan cold starter platter, vermicelli rice with Lebanese bread. It was all delicious. Decent espresso too.

Lovely food, quick delivery considering the distance driver has to do. Only criticism is that it was a bit pricey for what we ordering but was very nice.

As not living in Durham, only eat there two to 3 times a year, food very good, best Arabic food in area wth their take away in St.Giles! Service was good by young Ukrainian lady but the young man understood very little, like he didn't note my beer order, he is shy but please improve your language skills...

Tasty food, good portions, good service

I've eaten at Lebaneat twice—once for lunch, once for dinner—and been impressed both times. Large portions of outstanding, flavourful food, at a reasonable price. My only caution is this: Be aware that this is Lebanese, not Greek, cuisine. Someone in my party ordered the moussaka and was expecting something different from what arrived. What she was served was good; it just didn't match expectations. My lamb shawarma, on the other hand, was superb. Highly recommend as long as you read the item descriptions and know what to expect.

I ordered two wraps with chips and two pizzas. The wraps are so small for the prices of £10/ wrap, quality, was OK. Pizza's was good. Garlic sauce, not for me. Definitely, I will not gonna order from them again, plus the driver wasn't a nice guy, a little arrogant .

I've used Lebaneat for several years now with no complaint, ordered my usual mixed grill with extra bread at 17.55hrs and low and given a 50 minute delivery time, almost 2 hours later it hadn't arrived! Rang Lebaneat who said they would check orders and kitchen and ring back. Seconds later the meal arrived warm not hot, half cooked flatbread and the dish was mostly Schwarma chicken a little bit of lamb and some chicken wings. Not impressed with food and even less impressed with Just Eat who were delivering unbeknown to me! £29.50 sorry won't be ordering again for some time. 😐

Vegan wrap was a let down tonight. Full of potatoes and missing the other vegetables. Much nicer when it’s a good mix. Strawberry cheesecake was still half frozen. Chicken wrap, chips, salad and rice as lovely as ever.

My dining experience at Lebaneat has been primarily centered around takeout student meals, providing a generous 50% discount on wraps. While I've been a consistent customer since 2021, the main drawback has been the inconsistency in meat in that sometimes it can be served raw .. The range of food here is good, with 11 options for wraps making it an attractive and affordable option for students seeking a quick meal. However, the occasional issue with undercooked meat has been a persistent concern. If this particular issue were addressed and the meat consistently cooked to satisfaction, it would undoubtedly warrant a five-star rating from me. Despite this setback, I find it a reasonably good place to grab a meal and now I get the veggie wraps to avoid experiencing raw meat again. One of my go-to choices now is the spicy lebaneat wrap and the special lebaneat wrap. Staff are pleasant and friendly. Moreover, the online ordering system for pickup is incredibly convenient, making the entire process hassle-free.

Had just eat notification to say food was on the way at 8.45, food turned up an hour later.. rang lebaneat at 9.20 & was told the ticket hadn't printed & they had just made it.. food turned up, all tasted old, chips like rubber, some not cooked, chicken looked like it had been chewed up & spat out.. brown salad, really gone down hill!! Used to be the best!

The shawarma was super salty, the chicken was super dry which had almost crumbled without any proper pieces of chicken. Very unimpressive. Wouldn’t recommend their shawarma to anyone at all. Not exactly cheap.

Amazing tasting food. I would highly recommend this place and I'll certainly be returning when next in Durham.

Food missing from order. They said 20 minutes - it took 45+. When asked, repeatedly told it would be a further two minutes, when this wasn’t the case.

Draughty table , poor service and the only delight were the Falafals and there were 6 of us dining all choosing different dishes. Lamb all grisly and horrible. The Baba Ganoush was devoid of flavour or trimmings all a bit bland really . Service was haphazard .- Shame really

My meal was very very tasty and very good portionsonly one slight problem nwal came with roasted veg I got 3 small pieces of Peper and ons small quarter of tomato tiny amount!!! Please if meals says roasted veg make sure you put plenty in thank you!!! X

Went for a small bite for lunch after visiting the cathedral and museum. Food was warmed at least once. Waited for our food: 2 tables were occupied after we came in and they got food before us. Had better places to eat if we think about the taste and service as well. Would not go back or recommend unless there is nowhere else to eat in the whole region.

Always great lebanese, had some takeaways from the leabaneat take away in sunderland which have not been great tbh, but this the original restarant up by the cathedral in Durham, is still really good. Well worth a visit.

Brilliant place for Lebanese cuisine. The service was fantastic. I ordered a vegan starter, and without even realising, we were given another starter because they accidently served us cheese. We were absolutely stuffed afterwards 😂

Visited Lebaneat in Durham yesterday to celebrate a family birthday. When we arrived we waited 20 or so minutes for someone to take our drinks order. No one came. It was a red hot day and we were flagging in the heat and desperate for a drink. We had to go and find them and ask if we could order drinks. They said they'd be with us in 2 mins. It took them another 10 mins to come to us. It's not like they were busy as only one other couple there. They were just standing around ignoring diners. Anyway, they eventually came to take our drinks orders. We ordered our food at the same time as we didn't trust them to return. Our food began to arrive sporadically. 4 out of 5 of us received our orders but my son was left out. After about 10 mins waiting I had to go and find a waiter to ask if we could please have my sons dish. It hadn't been ordered. Then the mains started to arrive but my son still hadn't had his starter. His main course arrived after we'd all finished over an hour and a half after entering. No one came to see if we wanted any more drinks so we just didn't bother ordering any more. No apologies from the staff who just looked like they couldn't be bothered. It's a shame as the food that came was absolutely delicious so compliments to the chef. Unfortunately the service from the waiting staff was probably the worst service I have ever experienced in a restaurant. No tip left. We shan't be dining there again!

Despite asking for no garlic sauce on the chicken wrap ( in capitals as this has happened twice before) wrap came smothered in garlic sauce. I rang to tell them only to get a call back from the manager stating I was wrong. Needless to say I sent the wrap back untouched and I was right. Terrible service.

Delivery time was cutting it short. Chips were dry and burnt. Falafel was very dry and uneatable. The halloumi was nice, but only got 2 small finger slices. Quite pricey.

We've spent hundreds here over years but now consistently orders are poor; they're either missing items, burnt, or wrong and late. They do replace some items when they're wrong, but it's consistently an issue. Bad times when the food can be so lovely.

Delicious starters and drinks but don’t bother waiting for the main courses which are made without love or care. They managed to destroy what would have been good ingredients by dousing them with too much oil and salt. I usually leave good reviews but this place needs a warning. Looking forward to reviews which prove they have a new chef who cares.

Lebaneat, the Lebanese restaurant, is arguably the best dining spot I've come across in Durham. The flavors and presentation make this place an absolute must-visit. Truly the crown jewel of Durham :) We had an amazing meal here. They were quite busy, so the service was a bit slow , but it hardly mattered. My appetizer was huge and could easily have fed two. The lamb chops were perfectly cooked, and the bill at the end was surprisingly modest considering the quantity and quality of the food served. Lebaneat provides an exceptional culinary experience that's not to be missed, setting the bar high for other eateries in Durham.

Just ordered spicey Lebanese wrap and chicken shwama wrap, with chips. with baklava for desert. Food delivered on time. Was hot. My spicy Lebanese wrap was quite big, hot and tasty. My partners was thin in size and didn't look appetising. But he enjoyed it. Chips, dry and a little undercooked in the middle. Now, the baklava was freezing cold and soggy! I was not impressed at all. I love baklava, and was looking forward to eating this more than the wrap,and I'm sad to say I was very disappointed. Felt like they'd been taken from the freezer and defrosted. Please guys, these should be warm with the filo pastry a little crisp not freezing and soggy. Update on review: Please can you refund my money as you have given me food five days out of date. Update: In reply to your comment regarding my review about the 5 days out of date food. We will not be eating here again, you haven't provided a refund, and trading standards will be informed of this. You do not sell out of date food and expect a customer to return!

Delivery man wouldn’t try find the house even though I had newborn baby and couldn’t leave house, left delivery instructions on order

Had a super two-course lunch here at a very reasonable price. Nice to find a restaurant that offers its lunch menu seven days a week. The Lebanese lemonade was lovely! Generous portions and we had to ask for a doggy bag.

Late afternoon visit before an evening engagement. Place practically empty, people, I guess family, hanging about. Service fine to initially. Starters were fine but my main, chicken, was dire. It had clearly been around for a while and now reheated was scorched and bone dry. The waiter took shelter behind his lack of language. Together with children screaming, the atmosphere was uncomfortable so we paid and left. Go somewhere else, there's lots of choice.

Very nice food, tender and juicy lamb with bones. And the lemonade is the best in Durham!

Came at lunch for a works do. Most of us had the deal of a starter and wrap/chips or rice for £11.95. Starter of spicy potatoes was delicious and def on the spicy side. Main of chicken wrap was large and I couldn't finish it. A couple of friends took half home as they offered a take out. Also do things like pizza if you're not a fan of curry/spice. Very little choice of soft drinks- no soda or sprite on offer.

Food arrived an hour late and no apology or explanation offered.
