Excellent Sunday roast. Landlady very friendly. Good service and nice decor. This pub has certainly had its problems over the past couple of years but it is now certainly on the up.

I arrived on a Friday afternoon, I booked an overnight stay a few days before. My room wasn't ready so I had to wait over an hour. When I checked out the next day, I explained to a lady (the manager, I assume) that I had a discount from Hotels.com, I had the paperwork to prove it, but the manager wasn't interested, she demanded full payment and told me to sort it out with Hotels.com, who told me to contact the Leather Bottle. I contacted them twice but they ignore my e-mails. Don't stay here, they'll cheat you and rob you.

Owner/ manager needs customer care training. Very rude indeed. Why they feel their business doesn’t need to welcome people is beyond me.

went here last week, got fed up looking for places so last minute choice, felt I bit uncomfortable here, for locals I think. bar made didn't spk much English or smile for that matter, pub smalls old, but was surprised with the food, it was really tasty and plenty of it. reasonably priced too. would we return ? NO ! because of the surroundings really,

Nice old pub, but food was very average and the cutlery, placemats and table were not very clean. Have had good food here in the past so rather disappointed.

Miserable staff, poor service, very long wait for a burger that was frankly horrible.. Won't ever go there again.

The food looked very good (Sunday roast) but the meat was stone cold (we had a different meat each). When we went to the bar to order desserts a couple weren't available but when asked if the crumble had nuts in at all (due to a nut allergy) they couldn't tell us as the chef who had made the crumble wasn't in that day. When paying the bill we were then told that the lamb shank was an additional £2 but this was not stated on the menu.

I wandered in for a quick drink on my own after work. Great atmosphere, local guys introduced themselves and made me feel very welcome indeed. Got hungry, for Pub Food and price, fantastic!! As I felt comfortable, I stayed for more than one, clearly! At the end of the evening the staff , punters and most impotantly the owner / manageress could not have helped enough to get me in a cab and home safely. I still think I owe her ten pounds for the cab. Not sure, but i will be back to have another great evening and ask! Lewis

Was looking for some where to have a wake my sister had already visited this place and got a quote but then we see the bad reviews. So i decided i would pop in with my grandson and try a bit of food to see what it was like, i ordered chips for him and cheesy chips for my self, grandson wouldn't touch his as they looked burnt i ate mine but they left a horrible taste in my mouth that didn't go away for ages, they were too fat and rock hard on the out side and empty inside. i also ordered a coffee although it came from a machine that made all the right noises it was just instant coffee, but was priced as if it were fresh. They used to have disabled parking but have decided not to comply with the DDA any more for a reason the staff would not disclose. staff were scruffy dressed looked more suited to a day of d.i.y than serving the public. This was just before noon on a sunday and the toilets stank of urine. So they cant cook a chip and charge a fortune for rubbish coffee. that has lost them a 100 people booking, best up your game leather bottle!

I went for a quick drink here with my 1 year old daughter and husband. Since we had visited before when my daughter was a newborn and found it to be a very reasonable and good pub we were suprised by our experience. It advertises itself as a family pub yet there are no baby changing facilities of any kind. I was offered the toilet floor as an alternative. So I had to change my daughter awkwardly in the back of my car. I don't expect every pub to have baby changing facilities but the fact that they have a childrens playground at the back and advertise a childrens menu I was really suprised. The upkeep of the place is not great. There was litter all the way around the front, the back garden looked revolting and completely unkept. The fact that it is next to a busy road doesn't help either. And there was zero atmosphere inside. Generally a really unwelcoming and grotty place.

This is a typical non- chain pub that serves food. Reasonable pub grub, no frills, decent portion and a warm welcome. All in all average., nothing to complain about or praise, delivers what you would expect.

We were frequent visitors to the Leather Bottle just because the food was cheap and cheerful. The new owner always looked like a bulldog chewing a wasp and was very unfriendly and curt most of the time. I give this one star because the food was decent - not fine dining of course but pub grub that on the whole tasted ok. The last straw and why we will never go back there again is because we took our 3 children after an exhaustive day of a squash tournament and were told we had to hurry up and order at 530 - I ordered Prawn Cocktail and then rare steak but I hadn't even dug into my prawns before the main came out and the lovely chef lady said the BOSS said it had to be hurried up. The steak was not Rump Steak - it was cheap minute steak and as rare really didn't cut the mustard. The chips and mushrooms were hardly cooked due to the BOSS's requirement that the Chef give the food out asap; I expect better - much better and very disappointed when we have spent hundreds there. They like their regular bar flies and army men and just cater for them. The BOSS hates children. Disgusting. BRING BACK CAROL.

Went here for dinner Friday, in the middle of an industrial area, I think I was expecting something a little more upmarket than what it was, but it was nice. Big restaurants are difficult to create ambiance, and it was surprisingly not that busy for a Friday 2 weeks before Christmas. I think I was expecting, busy, festive, music and a party feel, it was the opposite to that, quiet, low key, quiet dining. Not 5 star but the food was again nice, a little on the pricey side for what it was and portions could have been a little more generous on the shared nibbles and chips but tasty enough and did it's job. Staff are polite and friendly.

Great food, however I’ve been here a few times now and the staff are so rude in comparison to the staff in the store. Such a shame because the food is really good especially the kids summer food deal.

Lovely staff, very polite and helpful, but wrong meal arrived, my husband had finished his by the time the correct meal arrived. The hot meal was served on a cold plate and the food was not thoroughly heated. Not an enjoyable meal or experience. We were offered 1 x complimentary drink to compensate. :(
