Le Petit Four in Wigan

Ordered chicken, bacon, cheese and mayo panini expecting them to have a piece of chicken, rasher of bacon and cheese. Service was slow and we were very disappointed when the food finally arrived. It was a soggy bottomed panini filled with mayo, chicken and ham slop which smelled and tasted processed. I couldn't eat the soggy bottom and complained before we paid the bill. I showed the Supervisor/cook the floppy Panini and her response was 'Oh sorry about that' but we were still charged £19. At no point did any of the staff ask was all okay with the food. Several tables needed clearing whilst staff were stood around looking bored and we saw a group of three sit down at a dirty table but get up and leave. We have eaten there before but won't be returning.

I think this has changed hands. We used to love it here for the children. They served you quickly and the food was nice. We went today and walked out. No one came over to us to take our order of drinks or food and when we looked around there were tables of people sat waiting for the same. No one eating. No food or drinks on tables. Never a good sign so we left. We won’t return which is such a shame. The staff used to be lovely but they were all just stood around today tapping their pencils on their order pads leaning against the cupboards staring into space.

Went here for two caramel lattes. They were fine. When she told me the price of almost £10 for two coffees I almost fainted! I said "We only had caramel lattes you know." This was the correct price. Never will be going there again. How can a business survive charging such extortionate prices in a tin pot cafe in the Grand Arcade? Unbelievable!

Friendly welcome, a variety of seating so an interesting ambience, not squashed. Smiley service, plenty of staff. Short menu with large and small items and quick delivery of fresh choices. Coronation chicken panini with salad - not just a lettuce leaf - fresh chips and a very good latte. It's our favourite now!

Fantastic service, coffees was lovely, the tea cakes are scrumptious will be going back sometime in next couple of weeks

Stopped here for family lunch. Food was nice but nothing special. Id stop here again though as I thought it was decent value for money

One of a number of cafes in the grand arcade. Only had a late which was both tasty and piping hot Pleasant young staff.

Microwave food at its worst, staff who don’t have a clue, can’t take one item off a menu and look at you stupid as if there is nothing upstairs. Never again

Anything but French. The name is totally misleading. It is no better then a cafe. Usual English breakfast,cup of tea. The rest rates a fail. I had supposedly broccoli soup. It was packet soup. Neither tasted like tinned nor home made. Four pounds plus and tasted like a slot machine offering. Asked for a pot of tea which wasn’t as good as a cup of tea... Very ordinary. Service and waitresses very ordinary. Can’t recommend and won’t go again.

Ordering was a nightmare as staff were rude and contradicting. I paid on card and they gave me cash back - in pennies? Without being asked. Order wasn’t what I had asked for and then at the end they added extra onto my bill for ‘sitting down’. But not the regular few pounds, £7!

I called here for a coffee and a cake. There was only a small choice of cakes so I had a chocolate muffin and a latte. The muffin wasn’t fresh in fact it was cold like it’d been kept in the fridge. The latte was nice but expensive. I’ll not rush back.

Found ourselves in this somewhat soulless shopping centre in dire need of refreshment & this place looked busy & menu tempting, so we sat down & our order was taken within 5 minutes. Our coffees came first, and very refreshing and reviving they were too. Unfortunately we'd drained them by the time our food came at least 15 minutes later. The soup was supposedly broccoli, but looked like dishwasher with greenery, and was very insipid and flavorless. Even my attempts are better than that, and I'm no great shakes. The herby baguette with bacon, chicken and mozzarella was okay - fillings cut into tiny little pieces but filled a hunger gap.It came accompanied with tastier chips.Could be wrong but looked like there was only one poor soul doing all the work in the kitchen area and 4 wait staff.Think perhaps this place has bistro ambitions but needs to sort out quality issues first.

It was not clear whether it was table service or not. When did sit down the waitress took forever despite having nobody else to serve. She was then very standoffish and rude. Coffee is nice but no surprise it's empty with the speed of service. There's two other coffee shops nearby I'd go to those.

Shocking customer service! After having just ran the wigan 10k we wanted a sit down and a coffee! I sat down whilst my friend waited at the counter for 15 minutes.. it was very busy so waiting times are understandable! I was then asked by a waitress if I had ordered and when I explained we were just waiting to be served I overheard her slagging me off to another waitress! Extremely rude staff, told us very abruptly on 3 occasions we weren't allowed to sit down as our drinks were in takeaway cups! Fair enough rules are rules but to be spoken to like that and hurried out was horrible!!

I allowed 45 minutes to eat here on a Saturday lunchtime as I knew it would be busy. I sat on a table that hadn't been cleared, and after waiting 10 minutes and no staff wanting to do so, I cleared it myself. I waited another 10 minutes to ask a member of staff if I could order. Our drinks came pretty quickly but they were only soft drinks. The food didn't arrive after another 15 minutes so I asked how much longer it would be to be told 10 minutes. 25 minutes seems quite a long time to wait for 2 sandwiches and 1 jacket potato! I couldn't wait any longer as I had an appointment. I complained to a waitress at the till only to have her smirk at me. I said I didn't think it was funny and she apologised and laughed in my face. The service was appalling during this visit. No member of staff seemed bothered about customer satisfaction. I won't waste another penny here as the food isn't that great and the service was beyond poor! I ended up with a takeaway from Starbucks as I wasn't left with time for anything else. At least the staff were pleasant there!

Parece atractivo cuando se busca en la selección de sándwiches baguettes, pero el servicio realmente defrauda. El personal es bastante agradable, pero como estábamos en el tiempo limitado que no conseguimos lo que pedimos con éxito a la mesa. 1 papa al horno, 1 con patatas fritas, primer intento 2 rollos a pesar de tener una conversación con la camarera de uno de partido no podía comer trigo, segundo intento después de prolongadas discusiones 1 patatas al horno y otro rollo (no lo había pedido y patatas fritas ahora frío. No podía esperar más dado que tuvo, tenía dos posibilidades comimos y pagan por 17 libras. 50 así que no satisfechos con la comida, el servicio o el precio de la comida mucho mejor y más barato en otros muchos lugares. Personalmente me gustaría dar este y puedes ir a la cafetería de la pasarela o quizás Costa. Mejor aún andando por la carretera hasta la cima de la Biblioteca banco de café. He dado este lugar sólo tres estrellas, estaba abierto, cálido y nos dieron comida, aunque no lo que pedimos y mediocre. Mi primera y última visita.

Ordered a full English, which arrived very quickly and it was all hot too. It all tasted great, no complains at all for the food or service. Polite and helpful staff. However the tea is a bit expensive at 1.95 each

We went for lunch, just a coffee and a sandwich. The sandwich, well a baguette really, was very nice and came with coleslaw and chips or salad. Good portions and the coffee good, but it was just short of £20 which I thought a bit expensive. The service was good.

This place is lovely for a quick little stop for lunch but the service is slow and the place is busy.

Food was just ok. Nothing spectacular or particularly tasty. Portion sizes were very small too and because of this I felt it was over priced. The Pepsi I ordered was in a tiny glass too.

Nice lunch. My son is a fussy eater but he really enjoyed his bagette pizza! Staff attentive and served quickly.

Very pleasant staff and well prepared food. Decaf coffee was a bit weak (as it usually is from these kinds of places). Is in a noisy section of the Arcade so not a place for a quiet moment.

Very welcoming and friendly Café. Served by pleasant and happy staff. Good quality freshly served meals.

The food is your average quick lunch, been here about three or four times now and the staff, one in particular never smiles, when you are paying on average of £14 for two drinks and two sandwiches the smallest thing you'd expect when being given your lunch is a smile or even eye contact not for it just to be slammed in front of you with not even an enjoy your meal, ok place but staff let it down

The food is average cafe food, tasty enough for a quick lunch. The staff however are pants. Really lets it down when you have to wait at least 10 minutes before even an acknowledgment from the waiting staff.
