Le Cafe Coull in Moray

Me and my hubby came here for our dinner, we were enjoying our meal which was the special deal for pensioners. We suddenly heard shouting coming from the kitchen, the member of staff in the kitchen was shouting abuse at the waitress, I felt for her as this is no way to treat staff and more importantly this should not be done in earshot of the customers, she left visibly upset and distressed. I hope that the management will be informed as this is a terrible way to treat colleagues.

This place has gone downhill. Went with pals for lunch and it was hardly cooked to perfection. We all left food on our plates. Was going to have pudding but after 20 minutes of waiting for our plates to be lifted, we paid and left. It wasn't even busy. Won't be back.

We decided to try here again while in Buckie, were disappointed to find a lack of waiting staff, the place was very busy and the waitress was rushing about trying to get round everyone, I wanted to get out of my chair and give her a hand, and all the while there were raised voices barking at her when she stepped into the kitchen. Very hard working. Food was great but this did let our visit down.

Always met with friendly efficient staff. There is a good menu and still at good prices. I would highly recommend.

We decided to come here as we had been in during the week but it was too busy to get a table, so we thought it must be good. Well the service was terrible, the waitresses just stood at the counter and did not come to take our order for a long time, we mostly all ordered the roast dinners, the meals were good but with basic presentation, the waitress serving our table made us feel we were in the way and was not overly happy to serve us at all.

Not particularly busy when we arrived, but it took over 20mins before someone came to take our order. We were brought our tea and then waited 25-30mins more for our food... macaroni cheese, nothing special or difficult to prepare. When it arrived it was nice, but not sure worth the wait. We didn't seem to be the only ones waiting an age for food. Perhaps this was a kitchen staffing problem as there were 3 people working the cafe floor. Certainly won't be back if I'm time restrained

I had an excellent coffee and scone at Le Cafe Coull whilst cycling along the Moray coast but the main thing I want to praise the café for is the friendly staff and atmosphere.

Friendly, efficient staff. Good choice of meals though not a lot for vegans. Food is tasty. Reasonable prices. Would recommend

It was on the high street, not far from the shops so pretty central, which meant it was busy the whole time, the place was clean and tidy, the ladies were all polite and helpful, even though it was hoaching, we had a bacon and egg roll, stuffed full of bacon with a lovely runny egg, my favourite, and my uncle had a warm cheese scone, there was plenty tea in a lovely big pot and water too, it was a breakfast menu we had, because it was before twelve, but the lunch menu sounded equally yummy and quite varied, so I was happy with the whole visit, many thanks ladies for patience with my uncle, he did appreciate it a lot

A group of 5 went and we were put on a big table for 8 so talking amongst us all was impossible. We were told a chosen item on the menu they don’t do ?? One item came incorrect and when it came to desserts the waitress took one order and started to walk away without waiting for the other orders. Not impressed and won’t be going back.

Went here today for our Monthly day out. It was our Xmas meal .. 😋 It was lovely really big portion sizes. Very friendly staff, didn't have to wait long for our food, especially as the restaurant was really busy. Really nice atmosphere. I would highly recommend this Cafe. I had a lovely lunchtime soup and toasty with a mug of coffee. Good value. Cafe was very busy which is always a good sign! Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Popped in on Saturday as we were in Buckie. The cafe was great, there were 10 of us and they managed to put a couple of tables together and accommodate us and our two dogs. Only had tea/coffee and cakes. Although, I had the tattie soup, which was excellent. Everyone enjoyed their lovely cakes and coffee. The special hot chocolate is a must. Great little cafe.

We stopped off here for some lunch having seen the positive reviews on Tripadvisor…and we weren’t disappointed! The staff were very friendly, the food was delicious - home cooked soup, toasties, etc. Coffee and cakes to finish. Homely feel to the place. Reasonably priced. This was our go to cafe every time we went to Buckie but last visit will be our last. Everyone knows the price of food has increased and understand cafe prices must rise but the price rises here are ridiculous. The coffee is nothing special but for the price I paid I'd of expected it to be served in a sold gold cup and presented on a diamond encrusted tray!!!!. Small cafes price themselves out of business and this will happen with cafe coull!!!!

I've been to this cafe many times while visiting relatives in Buckie. Never had complaints till the last few months. Cakes are good as is the food. But the service! We've sat for maybe 15 minutes before our order was taken! Not on only one...

All 4 of us loved our breakfast here! Large quantities of well cooked, good quality food. Service was first class. The premises became very busy during our stay with the locals clearly deeming it a big favourite. Wonderful!

This friendly cafe was recommended by a local and is clearly well used by local people. We had exceptionally good cullen skink - thick, lots of smoked haddock and creamy. The staff are friendly and the disabled toilet is good.

Had a light bite after our walk and we were served quickly and efficiently...the food was much welcomed after our exercise and the coffee was delicious....could not resist taking a 'couple' of pieces of home baked cake back with us for dessert

Stopped at this nice cafe when passing through Buckie and would recommend it. Good selection of cakes and sweets available. We both had coffee and my wife revisited her school dinners with Jam and coconut sponge and custard, while I had Apple Crumble and ice...

This place may look like your average cafe but it is exceptional. Hearty tasty food with nice side salads. Generous portions. Granny delighted with her Pensioner's spesh. Not posh but good

Walking the beautiful Fishwives’ Path from Buckie to Keith began with excellent coffee and the best bacon roll I can remember. I wish I’d asked where they sourced their bacon! The cafe was scrupulously clean and the staff efficient and welcoming. What a find!

It was difficult to find a cafe that was open in Buckie so we were glad to find this cafe. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Cullen skink was a hit and my cheese Toastie was well presented and delicious.

Lovely to be out and having a coffee again, felt very safe, enjoyed a lovely cheese scone with our drinks.

I regularly come here when in buckie for lunch and usually quite happy however this time service was a massive let down!!! Arrived found a seat and took the waitress 15mins to come take our order... she kept looking at me and when i waved her over she looked away. She served a older man you arrived 5mins after us! Then went to serve table next to us which came in 10mins after till i said sorry we havent had our ordee taken yet. Cajun chicken panini. Took her another 10mins to get a coke and a coffee.... other waitress served table at side of us they got their coffees within 5mins. I was very close to getting up and walling out! Service does not come with a smile here unless they know you!!! If they dont know you , you get a scowl and inquisitive look who you are. Cant fault the food it was lush i do highly recommend the food however service really needs to improve. Unsure if ill be back as everytime its been service to let them down.... cost nothing to smile

Love Cafe Coull, the staff are always so friendly and the soup there always tastes amazing. I always go there with my partner. My favourite is the cream of chicken soup. Totally packed with flavour. There sandwiches are really tasty too. Keep up the good work

Had a coffee here when I was filling in time. I had the perfect flat white coffee, flavoursome, strong and very hot. To eat I had a fairly cake which was ok.Service was excellent, polite and friendly. Good selection of tray bakes to choose from.

In Buckie for a meeting today and I am in Le Cafe Coull. Staff are friendly and give you a warm welcoming atmosphere. Food is delicious. Toilets are spotless and I think if the toilets are clean the business is clean. WELL THAT’S ALL ALL AND WELL DONE

We had lunch here on Friday and everything was perfect. The service came with a cheery smile from all the staff. The food was hot and very tasty. Even had a pudding. The portions are large. Got a couple of cheese scones to take away for later and you could taste the cheese. Would recommend stopping in at this cafe if you are in the area.

We visited for a morning snack, the home baking looks delicious and the menu caters for all and includes soups and main courses as well as pensioner portions, all at very reasonable prices. Very friendly staff.

Three of our family visited this cafe for Monday lunch. Parking in the main square, we walked the short distance to it.

I ran to Buckie from Lossiemouth and planned to meet my wife (to give me a lift back). I passed this cafe and decided to go in. I ordered for both of us while I waited.

We have visited this place every year during our holidays. The kids always want the soup! Especially the Cream of Chicken.

The food here is average but decent enough. The food though is served on tiny plates so you have to eat in layers as food is all piled on top of each other. I paid over £7 for a full breakfast but it was still served on what is really a starter plate. If a company cannot afford real plates that should be a sign that the company isn't doing that well.

We've been in this Cafe a few times before for coffee and cake but this was our first visit for lunch. The Cafe is a bright, comfortable friendly place with a varied menu of 'home cooking dishes' which we found to be hot and tasty - really hit the spot on a cold January day! We will definately be back.

Altho we re southerners we re acquired a taste for Cullen skink, so visiting here we had to try the local variation. We weren't disappointed, was so tasty, the best I've had. The staff and atmosphere were good too.will definitely visit again.

Popped in for a quick breakfast this morning. Such friendly service. Husband had full breakfast and I had mini breakfast, both served with toast and coffee. Good quality ingredients and cooked well. Lovely atmosphere. We took home scones for afternoon tea which were delicious. Will definitely return.

We ended up here on recommendation, once we found out that the crossroads cafe nearly has been shut down!

First visit here and we were not disappointed ,I had pan fried liver and onions,it was superb, great menu my wife had a baked potato. Will definitely visit next time we are in Buckie, a warm welcome from friendly staff and great food.

Looking for a meal in Buckie, Moray mid afternoon so thought I'd try Le Cafe Coull. Chose fish and chips. They were short of haddock so had pieces of both haddock and lemon sole. Excellent. And very attentive staff. Highly recommended.

Had lunch . Quiche light and fluffy and delicious. My husband had Haddock gougeons and chips. He said the batter was perfect .Cooked fresh ,fish and chips crispy and really hot. Always get good food there.

Go to Cafe Coull quite often, be it for a Latte and sandwich with friends and colleagues, or a superb salad for lunch with the wife. Always guaranteed a very friendly welcome and great service.

For those who go to Slimming World or just watching the calories head to Le Cafe Coull where you will get an excellent slimmers salad. We had a chicken and ham and there was more than plenty on the plate to fill us up. Just ask for the slimmers salad and you'll be well satisfied.

Called in to Cafe Coull for lunch and had a superb meal. I had salad and it was not only bursting with chicken and all the usual things but also seasonal fruit and berries. It really was as nice and well presented as in photos above. Service was also quick and very friendly making it well worth a visit.

It has been a while since I went here for a meal and I must say it was wonderful. I went with my family and we all had a cooked lunch and everyone of us had a lovely meal. The chicken fillets were home made and the batter aswell and none of us could fault our meals. My Mam had haddock which also had the batter and everything tasted so fresh and delicious. The table service was attentive and very pleasant. I cannot fault this cafè well done to all the staff and especially the cook that batter was the best I have tasted. Thank you for the excellent meal.

I used to love this cafe but since the new owner it has went down hill. I had a baked tattie and it was disgusting. Not sure how you can mess up a baked tattie but they managed it. They really need to take some tips from the old management. Staff were friendly enough I had a tall boy serve me and he was really nice. He was the only good thing about the place

Went for Lunch and had look at the table menu and specials board with various options and I plumped for the Macaroni & cheese with chips and was told no longer available so I took the full breakfast instead and was told no Hash Browns took Fried Tatties instead.

Visited on Saturday after busy Christmas shopping. Saw green pea soup on menu board and decided to try it. Cafe was empty yet young waitress didn't seem to notice me for a good 5 minutes. When she did finally take my order she was sullen and didn't smile once. Soup arrived with a piece of bread (bread roll would be nicer). Well I'm no chef but this was not green pea soup it was a thin tasteless veg soup. Wasn't in the mood for complaining so ate soup, added plenty of salt and pepper for flavor, paid and left. Wont be back in a hurry.

Visited cafe coul on Saturday ( 30th sept) for breakfast this was not my first visit had been during the week while working in the area so was looking forward to another superb big breakfast sadly I was left very disappointed plate was flooded with beans egg was hard and bacon overdone not to the standard of previous visit , lovely waiting staff and quick service

We visited on a Sunday morning for breakfast and were delighted with the service and the food. We hadn't visited before, which is a real shame as we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. (In our defense we are visitors to the area and usually on a Sunday we are heading in the opposite direction to get back home.) The portions were ample and the price was very competitive. Somewhat lacking in imagination, everyone in our party opted for the full breakfast but there were plenty of options for those wanting to broaden their horizons! I had a look at the rest of the items on the menu, and of course had a good look at the cakes etc, from what I could see there was a good array for both traditional and contemporary choices, there really was something for everyone.

Visit here very often ! On Tuesday late afternoon we Had excellent haddock and homemade chicken fillets also got fast and a very friendly service 10/10

Esta fue mi primera vez en el Cafe Coull. Fue una reunión familiar en el Día de la madre. La experiencia positiva comenzó dos días antes, cuando me llamó por teléfono para reservar una mesa para 7 adultos y una silla alta. La chica no podía haber sido mejor y cuando llegamos la bienvenida del personal era amable y servicial. Me quedé muy impresionado con el estilo de la distribución de asientos. En general, el café era fresco y contemorary con diversos tipos de asientos. Teníamos un tipo de cabina de esquina que era perfecto para todos nosotros para charlar con los otros. El menú o menús variados y tentadores con eran un menú independiente de pescado y la comida era fantástica. Tuve la gomera Cullen y abadejo ahumado. Otras comidas caseras de destacar una hamburguesa de pollo picante, y el hígado y cebollas. Nadie fue capaz para un postre. Tuve un par de cafés negros que eran deliciosas. Yo vivo en Inverness y reunirse regularmente con la familia de Aberdeen para una comida y una captura. Siempre hemos conocido en Keith, pero a partir de ahora será en el café en Buckie Coull.

Nice enough place but its a hit or a miss with the food. Cakes and homebakes are excellent but last time i visited, my friend and i sat for 20 mins before staff even approached our table or said hi, they did however keep looking over so we walked out and went to Emmas cafe instead. Shame because it is a really nice cafe with lovely decor.

Visited Cafe Coull for the first time with my daughter for afternoon coffee. Unlike most cafes, there is a choice of seating. Tables with conventional chairs for meals, or leather seats and sofas with cushions and coffee tables. The service was good as was the coffee. There is a good choice of bakes, and also a good variety of meals on the menu. They also do evening meals on certain days when you can BYOB, if desired. Will be paying a return visit in the near future.

Ate at Le cafe coulle yesterday with my partner, we were warmly greeted by staff immediately who took our drink order giving us time to peruse the menu and several specials boards that offer a wide range of daily specials. Myself and Martin went for the breakfast and were certainly not disappointed, a good size breakfast to set you up for the day with a perfect runny egg we thoroughly enjoyed cooked to perfection.A very relaxing atmosphere and a tremendous choice of pieces to enjoy after much deliberation between carrot cake and coffee cake Martin went for the carrot which he could only describe as heaven very moist and tasty, I personally could not resist a slice of strawberry cheesecake which was served with a small pot of fresh cream this was ace very tasty. So with full stomachs and feeling very content we left cafe coull , excellent service, excellent food and a lovely clean cafe with fantastic staff we shall certainly return when next in Buckie ,best local place we have eaten in yet thank you very much I would highly recommend Le cafe coulle to anyone

LE Cafe Coull is a family favourite with us, there is a large menu, open 7 days a week, the food is fantastic, always fresh & served by lovely friendly staff....... The cafe is comfortable (comfy chsirs) - child friendly... We live 20 miles away from this Cafe - but try to go there as often as possible, this Cafe has many regular customers - which is always a good sign

I had 30 minutes to kill, so popped in here for a snack. Nice view, tasty and affordable food and very welcoming staff.

We had lunch here on a recent visit to Buckie. We had soup which was pretty good followed by coffee and cake. They have a very good selection of tray bakes and the victoria sponge was excellent. One disappointment though was the bread served with the soup. I don't think I've ever seen such a cheap thin piece of bread served with a cake of butter placed on top. Some nice bread served with the soup would have made all the difference so I hope the owners take note.

Ate here with my family while on holiday, lovely meal, very friendly staff. Will visit again. Highly recommend.

I visited here at the beginning of August, lunchtime.The wierd concoction I had on my plate with the hot smoked salmon (which tasted lovely), was a complete turnoff. Salad was coleslaw (large lump of), grated cheddar chees (again large lump), pineapple ring - with hot smoked salmon??!!

Food was alright, staff need to listen abit more to your actual order because they seem to write down whatever and you don't actually get what you wanted

Good food and service. We had paninis , good choice of fillings There were also a variety of main meals available. Dessert was also available. Yum Yum will be returning.

From the moment we entered the cafe we were greeted with a very friendly good morning and the question are you eating in? We answered with a yes, then were asked to please take a seat someone will be with you to take your order.The friendly waitress, who we found out to be called Pauline took our order, two full Scottish breakfasts, which also included 2 slice of toast with jam and butter along with tea or coffee. We waited for approximately 10 mins and Pauline returned with two full plates. The breakfast turned out to be one of the tastiest we have ever had. you can not falter the cleanliness or the friendly service. We will be back again in February and will be sure to pop into taste another lovely breakfast. The price of breakfast was £14.90 for two but I can assure you that we needed nothing else to eat until evening and it was very good value for money.

This is a great place to eat out in Buckie and I thoroughly recommend it to anyone. The prices are good value, the food lovely and portion size very generous

I bought a Cajun chicken panini with chips. The Cajun sauce was awful. It tasted of vinegar and chilli , I couldn't even tell there was chicken there. The size of the panini was so small that I probably could've finished it in a couple bites. The chip portion was also tiny and they tasted like bland cardboard. I had a milkshake as well. The milkshake was the only okay thing about the whole experience. I had to pay £10 for this awful meal. I would've eaten the whole thing for the amount I was being charged, if it didn't taste so bad. I will never return to le cafe coull and I recommend to everyone else to avoid it .

Five of us popped in for coffee and cokes and sandwiches. Nice wee cafè for an afternoon snack. The café was busy and is obviously frequented by locals as well as visitors. The service was friendly and prompt and the food was well presented and tasted great.

Was back in Buckie for a few weeks with my 3 year old son. Visitted Cafe Coull for breakfast everyday. Staff were friendly and understanding. Jack is missing his 2 fried eggs, thank you for making our stay a happy one.

I often pop into Cafe Coull for a coffee and a bite to eat before I embark on my weekly grocery shopping in Buckie. Although on the busy main street, it has never been a problem to park near this very nice cafe.Cafe Coull have a standard menu with meals for breakfast, lunch or early dinner. They have a good selection of scones, cakes and homebakes so watch out for your waistline because you will be tempted by what they have on offer (yum).The prices are very reasonable and very good value for the buck.

The food and service is still as good but it seems to be getting expensive. Last time i visited i had fish which was gorgeous but well over priced if they are buying local. I love this cafe but i don't like feeling im being cheated Buckie is a small place people talk and cafes can go out of buisness just by being greedy.

Lovely cafe and friendly staff. I opted for a latte and slice of Victoria sponge it was very tasty as it was later in the day the waitress came over and gave me an extra slice.
