Only called in for coffee but made very welcome. Menu looked amazing, will visit again to eat.

Menu has been greatly improved, every starter is incredible, mains are great too. Generous portions, wine is good, cocktails too. Service from the tattooed waiter was warm and friendly !

Lunch here was beautiful today, and good service, we only had soup and warm crusty bread but so enjoyable and plenty to keep you filled, lovely on a chilly day.

Highly recommended, well attended by locals. The food is delicious, there is local beer. Although not easy to find, highly recommended.

All in all, a one-of-a-kind spot. Friendly but professional staff, amazing cocktails and excellent and unique food on the menu. Dog friendly and uniquely cosy atmosphere, very warm with tasteful decor. No reason not to be back when in Elgin!

Delicious food! Couldn’t fault the meal or service. Only issue was the smelly dog at the next table that continually pestered us. Owner smirked when we gave them a disapproving look and complained to server.

What a fabulous place, amazing food, had the most gorgeous outside seating, as well as a court yard. We ate inside as it was very hot outside, lovely and cool inside Food was beautiful and the service was second to none. The owner was in and came and introduced himself, which was lovely , gives it that personal touch. They have a cocktail bar upstairs lovely, which gives the feel of Ronnie Scott’s in soho London. Can’t wait to go back the next time when we visit

The atmosphere and mood here were delightful. There is cozy indoor seating and an adorable outdoor terrace area. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating (allergen conscious). Food = phenomenal. We attended for lunch and ate from the tapas style menu, which were perfect portions for two and decently priced. We were ready to go right back for dinner!

If I could give this place 10 stars out of 5, I would. We went there for a meal, they accommodated us despite not having booked. Unfortunately, I started feeling unwell after we'd ordered and could hardly eat anything. My husband very much enjoyed his meal while I merely picked at mine. The staff couldn't have been kinder or more attentive, concerned about my health, concerned about the food (the food was excellent, nothing about the situation was the fault of the food) and they refused to charge for my meal despite me insisting I wanted to pay for the food I'd ordered. Never been anywhere where the staff have been so kind and helpful. The food was excellent, and the portions were very plentiful. Hopefully we'll visit the area again sometime in the future and next time I'll get to properly enjoy my meal like my husband enjoyed his!

I ordered the Chicken & Haggis Ballotine and was left wanting. The portion size was not close to adequate. Perhaps it may have been for a small child or a large pet. This may have been acceptable if the dish was of an outstanding quality but I found the chicken to be overcooked and the haggis to be unflavoursome. Pro-tip: a little seasoning goes a long way. I would not have left a negative review if this dish did not cost an eye-watering 28 pounds. That's about 4 pounds per mouthful if we're being generous. An outrageous value proposition. The meal becomes even more expensive when you realise you have to go to the big Tesco for snacks afterwards because you have not been sufficiently nourished.

Dined here for our anniversary meal on 22nd August, what a lovely place and love the decor , its very cosy and intimate , the service and food was amazing, I highly recommend you try for yourself , but make sure you book as its not a big place and is very popular. Well done to all the staff your all doing an amazing job and we will definitely be back soon next time we are back up in Elgin.

Fantastic experience from start to finish. Thoroughly enjoyed our meals on Saturday evening. We were warmly welcomed by our server who was attentive, polite and friendly. My fiancée had let it slip to the server that it was my birthday and I was kindly offered a drink on the house which was very well received! Our bill was very reasonable for 3 x 3 course meals and a few drinks. We’ll be back for sure!

A very aesthetically lovely place to eat/drink, both outdoor and indoor seating. The service was very friendly. I was happy that they could make any drink on the cocktail menu into a mocktail for a slightly reduced price, and they were delicious. A decent selection of vegetarian items and the food I did have was lovely. I'd love to try a veggie roast from here one time?

A really lovely 'fancy' restaurant. Decor was just right, service was ok, food was good but not quite up to the prices being charged (I had the halibut and it was overcooked and chorizo tasted like a cheap version) by the by I had a gorgeous evening and would definitely return and recommend. Final comment would be the tacky upstairs cocktail bar does not suit the classy downstairs and going up to the loo felt disjointed. I would also recommend putting a different entrance to the bar as I didn't like the people upstairs squeezing through while we were seated to come in and out from having a smoke.

9 of us were here for a post wedding meal. The service atmosphere and food were excellent. Best place in Elgin by far. We had so much fun I forgot to take photos!

Superb - The Drouthy Cobbler has been recommended to us several times over the last couple of years but this is the first time we’ve been able to make it here and we were not disappointed. The entrance is tucked away down a side alley but it’s well signed so not too hard to find. A lovely atmosphere as soon as you walk through the door. The food menu has a good range of options and the quality of every course was excellent. Highly recommended.

The place is very well decorated and the atmosphere is very comfortable. They have a terrace in the alley where you can have a drink and be comfortable. As for the food, the deer meatballs were fine although the chorizo took a lot of prominence from the meatballs itself. The "Highland rump of beef" dish was very good, the perfect meat point and the sauce was very good.

Lovely staff, great music and delicious food

Went here with family, 11 of us (kids and adults). The food was absolutely amazing and cooked to perfection 👌🏻🤤. The atmosphere here is sooo calming and relaxing. The building inside and out is beautiful and the sitting area at the front is stunning. Have highly recommended to friends and other family members for next time there in Elgin.

We were touring Speyside/moray for a week on bikes and this was the best bar we went to. Really lovely decor and atmosphere.

Cheap quality food served at high quality prices lately was never like this here raw burger frozen chips is not quality

Loved it. Went for the Plant based option (Vegan) really tasty. Although not clear from the menu some things can be made vegan, even the dip for the triple fried chips! Great friendly service.

I had the halibut and my wife the chicken dish. Nice bottle of red and shared a sticky toffee pudding. Food was excellent as was the service. What else can you ask for. Thoroughly enjoyable experience.

An INCREDIBLE dining experience! We had dinner with our bridal party at the Drouthy the night before our wedding and it was such a fun and special experience. We've all been talking about how excellent the food and drinks were for about a month, and Ross and Jack made the experience 10x more wonderful. Thank you to the Drouthy for a wonderful night, we can't wait to be back!

It is probably five or six years since I last visited the Drouthy Cobbler, and our party of four thoroughly enjoyed our visit. It is a quirky little pub/restaurant located in a narrow lane off the East end of Elgin High Street. There is limited outside seating, and I believe a small beer garden. Service was quick and friendly. The menu had some interesting dining options, and prices, although not cheap, were probably on par with other Elgin Eateries. Our party of four enjoyed our meal and will definitely return again. The only quibble I had was that the toilet area was not particularly clean with an overflowing bin and paper towels scattered over the floor.

We called the restaurant to see if they would seat us as walk ins on a Monday evening at 7:30pm. The guy that answered the phone said no they could not. I found that we could make reservations online for 7:45pm. The search for the physical entrance to the restaurant was a bit challenging for us as it's located behind the front shops. When we walked into the restaurant, it was pretty empty. There were 2-3 tables of two people and by 8:30 there were two other tables of about 6 people each. The restaurant was still not full so I'm not sure why he said we couldn't come????? A bunch of items on the menu were not available. The food we received were fine. The actual table service was satisfactory as well. The beer selection was super limited. Could've been a much better experience without being told we couldn't come then to find out the restaurant was basically empty when we walked in.

Lovely restaurant, drinks and service really good as always! The food has been disappointing for my last two visits and has tasted very plain. Not a fan of the menu change for dinner as I was struggling to find something that sounded appetising and when I did it was out of stock. Much prefer the menu as it was a few years ago!

Awfully overpriced. There is no lobster in the lobster and langoustine linguine. (We asked whether there’s be any lobster meat in it in advanced, and the waitress replied yes. Then it turns out there is none). There is only one langoustine in it, the it doesn’t taste fresh. The meat broke easily and suggests it has been frozen and defrosted multiple times. We had to pay close to £30 for that. Rump steak is small in portion and has a gamy flavour. We paid more than £30 for that. Wine choice is very mundane and not worth the price. In general would not recommend.

It was about 28 degrees inside and packed with people. The order was taken 15 minutes after we arrived, the drinks were on the table another 15 minutes later. Starters arrived after hour of sweating. A starter was also necessary since my main dish turned out to be on the small side. The starter carried a fancy Italian name, but in the end it was pasta with butter and melted cheese, with nothing added - not sure how that could possibly be 9 quid. The main course was a monkfish curry which was good, but on the other hand tasted like any good Thai curry which I could get for half the price. The value for price relation is completely skewed in this place and I don't understand the great reviews. Spending 55 pounds (including two beers) for what I got is in no way acceptable.

It took some searching because it is hidden in an alley. You can also sit outside. Booking in advance is highly recommended.

Second time visiting, with the dog, for lunch. Food is very good and service some of the best, with a great atmosphere and environment. Definitely recommend and will visit again.

Visited for the first time last night and absolutely loved it. Lovely decor, friendly and helpful staff and the food was amazing. I had the beef and it just melted in your mouth. My husband had the fish and it was a huge portion and was so tasty. Will definitely be back.

Nice place but hard to find, could do with better signage. Food was OK, had fish and chips, no sauce or condiments offered at all. Was mediocre for the price, nice atmosphere.

We ate there twice. Super friendly staff, great service, lively atmosphere! The food isn´t spectacular but still very good. The one exception being the cheese plate, which was absolutely scrumptiuous! Really great drink selection. The bar staff definitely knows what they are doing. They also gave exceptionally good recommendations!

Excellent welcome and staff who coped amicably with an autistic child. A young gentleman introduced the child in question to the word “ambience” since the child knew already the greeting “Bon Appétit!” And my cousin is desperate to know how the chef made those peas so tasty. But the meals are not cheap - so if you’re on a limited budget, you would be well advised to try somewhere else! I’m not on a limited budget so all four of us opted for a sweet. The Sticky Toffee Pudding (STP in my parlance) was unbelievable. Or so I’m told cos I had the “Affogato al Caffè”, and it was delicious too! Well done, Drouthy Cobbler!

The Drouthy Cobbler is a lovely, warm and friendly place that I would highly recommend. Tucked away on a narrow side street it has instant appeal with welcoming lights and plants decorating the doorway. Once inside we were served by an amazing young team who were helpful, knowledgeable and engaging. The food was absolutely delicious and reasonably priced for such good quality. We enjoyed our meal with some lovely wine and followed it with cocktails which were just as good as the food. This is an absolute gem which we will definitely visit again. If you're in Elgin, give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

Fantastic place, ate here two nights running. We had beef, squid, steak and venison, all were very good, hard to fault. Irish coffees topped it off 👍

What a wonderful place! If the weather is good the patio looks amazing to sit at Charming dining area with nice staff. The food options are nice and a good portion too. Felt like quality ingredients were used. Nice beer options too, always a plus.

What a perfect find. We wanted something interesting for lunch and that is certainly what we got. The restaurant looks welcoming and cosy and Clodagh was amazing. We had the squid for started and the most incredible Chicken BLT. If you are in Elgin - go here 👌

Great wee place that we went for a drink in, great and friendly service...

I booked the drouthy on Friday the 1st of December for my birthday meal with family. I booked a table for 9 people, arrived at half 7 to find we had 2 seperate tables which I really wish they had told me as it split the company and I would’ve booked elsewhere to accommodate the larger party. We were seated next to an extremely loud Christmas party where a few folk couldint obviously handle their wine, I appreciate they are on their night out but save the hysterics for the pub! Had to shout across the table to get a conversation the whole night which wasint ideal. Anyways I ordered the fish and chips which i usually get because it’s a fantastic dish. However when it came the portion size was a joke, my girlfriend was there a week back and the difference was incredible! I’ll post the photos of the difference down below. Paying 18 pound for fish and chips and getting half a portion is ridiculous. The batter on the fish was poor and the chips certainly weren’t triple cooked. So dissapointing as I love the drouthy and have been many times. Unfortunately I won’t be back again.

Food was bloody amazing. Had 3 courses and could not fault anything. Drink was good too. Staff were friendly and quite funny.

The worst dining experience, extremely disappointing. Service was very unprofessional and in some points came across rude. We were sat for 30 mins before someone came for our drinks order and when we also asked for something not to be put in one of there cocktails i was made to feel silly, questioned why and made to feel pressured into the way they want it which ended up me not enjoying it. When we questioned the waiting time we were told this was due to “Peak time” even tho there were multiple times we seen staff stood doing nothing. We then waited another hour for our meal ( salmon starter and rump steak main ) for the steak to be stone cold.
