No volveremos.

Wanted to give the place a try, but wouldn't go back! Food, whilst ok was overall over priced and fairlu basic. If it continues like this it won't last long with far better choices and value for money nearby. Layla pull your socks up!

Really decent Lebanese food in a nice enviroment. The service was good and friendly. They have a blonde belly-dancer whose certainly not got much belly and it's very reasonably priced. They have booths along the wall and would definately recommend getting one as the chairs in the middle of the room are a bit hard and you might feel a bit crowded by other dinners.

Having spent many a night out at the Esher branch I was eager to try the Wimbledon branch. It is a really calm and friendly environment. Very different to the Esher branch which is a bit louder. The food was great as were the cocktails.. it is a little on the expensive side however worth it for the general atmosphere and music.. I had a lovely evening.. certainly a new addition (in my view) to the Village as it is different..

As a regular diner in Wimbledon Village I thought I would give Layla's a try for a second time. I went there on a Sunday lunchtime. We were shown to a table and I was surprised to be waiting around 10 minutes to receive a menu. We ordered a few mezes which arrived but very slowly. Our main courses would have taken over one and a half hours to arrive but we had to leave as it was taking too long. A shame really as the restaurant in Esher is fantastic and I have had some fantastic experiences there. On a plus they didn't charge us for the food, only for our drinks. Probably avoid unless you have quite a bit of time set aside. I'm hoping they can improve as the restaurant is a great concept.

We arrived for a birthday celebration with my daughter for Sunday lunch. The restaurant was half empty. We ordered starters of a mezze platter and halloumi pitta and mains. After 1 hour and 5 minutes the starters arrived. Very mediocre. ....... and we waited. Other customers near us who were clearly regulars were being served and we asked a few times on the last occasion being told it would be 5 minutes. Ten minutes later and after waiting for 1 hour and 45 minutes for the main courses, we left. The waiters were pleasant enough and clearly working under stress. We were also only charged for a coke and wine and not for the mezze platter and halloumi. Not coming back... Dont bother! Most disappointing.

My husband and I decided to try this fairly new restaurant in the village because we couldn't be bothered to go into Central London for my birthday. The restaurant was nicely decorated and for a Sunday night there were a few tables in. The food was very average and sadly the lamb schwarma was a real let down, the kebab shop down the Broadway does a better schwarma. The Mixed Grill was ok but that was about it. We had high hopes for this restaurant because it looks so nice and we mourned the passing of the previous restaurant on this site, the Butcher and Grill but sadly this didn't wow and I doubt if we will go back, shame.

Really underwhelmed by food. Good ambiance helped by belly dancer and music. Over £8 charged per person for 'platter' which was 3 tablespoons of dips and some bread. Under seasoned lamb shank. Better food at Lebanese takeaway in Motspur Park for about £10.

We went here for a friends birthday and had pre-booked a 'booth with a round table for 10 people'. This had been confirmed twice prior to the evening, yet on arrival we were told the booths were not big enough and so we had a long table in the middle of the restaurant. Not a major problem, but annoying given that specific request was one reason for trying the restaurant. The decor was well done, there is a very small bar area at the front, then the main restaurant further back. All done out very nicely. Menu is good, particularly for veggies, but we went a la carte - in hindsight I think it may have been a wiser choice to do the set menu of mixed mezze, as we had a few problems with our meals.Firstly some food didn't arrive for both courses, meaning some people had to wait. The starter mezze were good, but quite oily - nice dips/bread though. Main courses were ok too - some people had the lebanese lamb, which they said was very nice. I had the prawns, which were good enough, but for £20 I'd expect more then 5 butterflied prawns, with some roasted vegetables and a dollop of potato. Then again, this is Wimbledon village, so you're paying a premium just for that I suppose. Two people in our group had the 'baby chicken' which sounded good and came recommended, yet when it arrived had a thick yellow sauce on it that they said tasted a bit like processed cheese...neither of them ate it and in fairness to the restaurant, they knocked it off the bill when they saw it was barely touched. The atmosphere was good, although there didn't seem to be enough serving staff. The ones we had were good, but seemed too stretched and always rushing. They missed a trick there, as with a group of ten, we had pretty consistent asks for wine, yet the glasses and bottles ran dry a few times and we had to fight to get attention to order another - more staff would have prevented that and would have meant we'd had more drink and they'd made more money. The belly dancer was entertaining, but came while we were waiting for our food, so got less attention than she otherwise might have, as we were more bothered about if our food was on the way! After dinner we stayed for drinks. We ordered some cocktails and a couple of vodka & cranberry. After about 20 mins, the drinks turned up, but with Gin instead of vodka. Again, not a major problem in isolation, but irritating given some of the other challenges. Then at midnight, all the lights in the room went on full blast. Was like being at the end of a school disco. Most odd when you're out for dinner...All in all, I'd say most of us quite liked the food, the restaurant is well done out and maybe once they have been open longer things might run more seamlessly. We paid £55 a head for two courses and drinks, so not absurd, but equally not cheap. Good for a group, in terms of it being lively, but I'd recommed all sticking to the set menu. I don't think I'll be rushing back, but then also can't be too critical...simply put, I wasn't wowed and feel pretty indifferent about it....

This is the second family visit to this newish restaurant in Wimbledon village. The decor is pleasant, the service affable but very slow.....a quiet time before the later rush. The menu full and varied. The mezzes were tasty but mean in portions. The shank well cooked (cannot go wrong with slow cook), rice tasty but too much with limited juices from the lamb. The 'boiled' vegetables seemed out of place in this 'Lebanese' eating chain. The grilled fish delicious but the 'curried gravy' too overpowering. Again big rice base. Separate chips good. The glass of wine (175mls) expensive at £10!!The concensus was expensive for what it is......may go back but not in a rush

Great menus - both food and drinks. I have recommended the lamb shank to all my friends. The cocktail list is extensive and our drinks were perfectly made. Young but attentive staff and the restaurant itself has a great atmosphere.

I visit Wimbledon regularly so I have eaten in a lot of the restaurants but this one appeared in the place of a butchers shop. The front is quite narrow but it extends rearwards into a large open eating area. We arrived early on a Friday evening and were greeted warmly. Daughter has food allergies and is veggie so we checked if they could cater for her and this was no problem after consulting with the chef. The menu is extensive and caters for veggie food well. We ordered a selection of dishes and enjoyed them all. Mixed grille was v good for myself and partner (Not veggie) . Drinks are usual prices. Service was good. £113 for three of us and numerous drinks. Reasonable value. I would go again and try some of the other dishes.

We loved this restaurant. The food was really good lebanese, beautifully cooked and presented. We had the sharing menu and it was all delicious. A bit noisy, but we went to eat, not to talk!I love my deserts and the flourless chocolate cake was perfect and the ice creams subtle creamy and gorgeous. We will be back again soon.

This restaurant is not even worth one star! Really bad service very mediocre food, warm beers, overpriced wine, actually everything was over priced, one of our party has a nut allergy so we asked if a particular dish was nut free the waiter checked with the "chef" (I use that term loosely ) he confirmed it was nut free so we ordered it and when it came to the table it was covered and I mean covered in nuts, well done guys, the waiter of course had to take it back and we waited over 20 minutes for the dish by which time the rest of our party were almost finished their meal, we then waited over half an hour for the desserts which still didn't come so we asked for the bill, when I asked the waiter to take the desserts off because we didn't get them he said he couldn't because we were on a set menu !!!When he returned with our bill he said he had taken the 4 beers (warm beers at that) off - big deal, we still paid over £300 pounds for five of us. We have visited their other restaurant in Esher which was ok not great but compared to this way better, for a restaurant that has just opened a couple of weeks ago they are not doing much to impress avoid at all cost we are in wimbledon village often but we will never return to Layla.

Being fans of Lebanese food and having eaten it in many truely authentic restaurants, not only in London but globally, this was a big disappointment for us. The (mezze) starter of hummus, babaganoush, etc was awful; the portions were tiny, tasteless, spoonfuls on a small rectangular dish (anyone who is familiar with Lebanese will know that they are incredibly generous people in all ways!) The main course which one of us chose was billed as a traditional, fishermans, fish dish but it turned out to be fillets of fish covered in what appeared to be and taste like salty Bisto! The (non Lebanese) staff didn't appear at all interested in whether or not we had enjoyed the food, our plates were just cleared away without a word. Wimbledon Village is a very nice area of London and the restaurant is in a good position, how they could have got it so wrong is a shame. If you are looking for authentic, reasonably priced, Lebanese food head to areas such as the Edgware Road, Belgravia or Mayfair.

A bit bizarre, like sitting at a bus stop, but without the glamour. The food took quite a long time to come, and it was not bad. The staff were friendly enough, but spent most of the time shouting down the phone or at each other from about 1 a metre away. Some of the lights didn't work, or they couldn't work out how to switch them on. Buses at the stop outside blocked out the sun like an eclipse. When we wanted to pay, the only staff member had left, so we were all on our own, with the baffling lights and the underground rumble from the tube. A little odd.

Had an evening meal with my wife after a long drive. Found this great restaurant around the corner from our hotel. The service was spot on and very friendly, the food delicious and the prices competitive. Would recommend to others and would return if we happened to be in the area again.

Ordered take away. Will not repeat. Cedar mixed grill was very disappointing. Meat was over salty, kebabs made of low quality meet and so salty I binned them. Other meat was below average. I am regular customer of Lebanese restaurants. This is not what I expect. Sorry guys. Won’t order again.
