Disappointing 'homemade' steak & ale pie! More like frozen beef stew in bowl with pre cooked puff pastry lid. If the menu states home cooked we were expecting a real pie. Filling very watery no taste of ale...small serving of chips & spoonful of garden peas not worth the 40 min wait at not very busy 2.30 pm late lunch. We won't return for food but nice area to sit for a drink on a nice sunny day.

Not good for vegans. We were hoping to get a decent meal with it being our first night in Lawrenny. However, the vegan penang curry was not good. It was supposed to be vegetable penang but consisted of just green beans and tiny bits of cauliflower. The appearance suggested it had been frozen. We had it with half chips and half rice but the rice hadn't been drained properly so there was water on the plate which made the chips soggy. I would have told the staff but nobody asked if the food was alright and our plates weren't cleared by the time we left. The only reason I have given 3 stars is because the bar staff were really friendly, otherwise I would have left 2 stars.

The staff at Lawrenny Arms are extremely accommodating and very friendly. I booked for a large party with infants to have food. They were happy for us to change our reservation to outside when the weather was so lovely. They checked that everything was correct with our preorder before serving us, they made sure the babies were happy and we had everything we needed, pointing out highchairs and changing facilities etc. The food was great, good pub grub. Would definitely go back, beautiful location too!

We had dinner in this pub on 07/08/2024 and I make it quite clear that I do not normally write reviews especially when it comes to business premises in my locality but the food here is terrible. We had the cod which was soggy, chilli which tasted as if they had just put white pepper for flavouring, Childs spaghetti bolognaise again inedible and one winner good old chicken nuggets. And of course the barman who would rather leave you waiting to get served whilst he spoke to another man about cricket. Come on guys you must do better.

Staff friendly & helpful. Service excellent. Good view of Lawrenny Quay! Had 2 meals here - steak pie - lots of lean meat in juicy gravy - very tasty! Sunday roast (£14.95) was just mega - we both had beef - served with roasties, yorkshires, stuffing - potatoes, veg & extra gravy served separately - was nearly tempted for all meats option (beef, pork, turkey £18.95) but don't know if I'd have managed it! Would highly recommend!

The Bald asked me out for lunch and it was a nice sunny day so we drove from near Fishguard to Lawrenny. It did not disappoint. Everybody was outside because the Sun was shining, so the bar looked the little sparse inside, but I can imagine it bustling when it’s full of people. You can sit outside and overlook the estuary which has a variety of little boats to dreamily watch and wonder. Whilst we were there about four or five boats hooked up to the pontoon and their crews came into the pub. A lovely little place to stop. The Bald had gammon and he was thrilled. Succulent and cooked very well. The accompaniments were equally impressive. I opted for the lighter bite prawn cocktail with a side of buttered new potatoes. I was slightly disappointed to be given defrosted prawns which had a little bit of water in them making the sauce slightly diluted. The salad was really nice and the bread and butte which came fresh and tasty. I cannot say anything bad about the potatoes, other than £3.95 for a ramekin with four small potato and two little squares of butter seemed a little bit on the expensive side. The beverages were fairly priced - we had beer, cider and gin. Sitting outside under the warmth of the sun and watching the world go by whilst having a favourable meal is a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon. There were a bevy of school aged children working very hard bringing us our food and clearing the tables. They were delightful, polite and very easy to engage with. They also did the check- back and went out of their way to answer or find out things we needed to know. This is definitely on our list for a return at some point. Thank you.

Found this lovely, welcoming pub by chance and booked for 5 kids and 5 adults to enjoy Sunday dinner. Service was SO friendly - they bent over backwards to make our meal enjoyable and fun. Kids were given colouring sheets, fire was roaring, views were beautiful, landlady came out to talk to us all and offered the kids a treat at the end of the meal, locals were keen to chat at the bar, food was plentiful and delish! Possibly the friendliest pub I’ve ever been in.

We have come here many times and I always enjoy a fabulous full plated prawn salad. This time it comes out as a prawn cocktail starter in a glass, a few leaves, one cherry tomato, prawns, sauce with a few slices of cheap buttered brown bread. This 'light dish' cost nearly £12, £1 less than my husband's lasagne and chips. I ordered an extra bowl of chips to stop me going hungry, and they were greasy brown triple cooked and tasteless. We travelled a long way as the setting of this pub is lovely and service usually good. We wondered why this usually popular eatery was so quiet this time. Something s changed here, standard of the food sadly gone downstream.

This was the second time we have been here this week and on both visits the food was excellent. The dressed crab was very well presented and tasted great. We also had the vegetable lasagne and the three bean chilli which were also good. The staff are very friendly and attentive. It is a lovely setting, particularly when you can sit outside by the water, as we did with our dog. The only thing we would mention, is that dogs are only allowed inside on the uncarpeted area, which we understood but this comprised of two tables in the pool table area where people were walking around and playing pool, so was noisy, and there was also fairly loud music playing. Luckily, both nights we went, the sun was shining and we could sit outside.

Visited three times in two weeks. The first time my wife and I visited was very nice. The gentleman and lady were very helpful, with the barman being very helpful with local knowledge and places we can take our spaniel. We visited on the following Saturday at around 1 maybe 1.30pm and the gentleman behind the bar was very rude and abrupt. I think it was the owner? We stayed for a couple of hours and the barman from Tuesday arrived to work. We asked why the gentleman was so abrupt? His reply "we are under a lot of pressure in tourism in Pembrokeshire at the moment" So my wife asked/stated "but your not rude?" His reply was a sigh "I can only try to be nice, anyway I have to go before shouting starts. Nice to meet you and your dog. Please make sure you get to see as much as you can as I don't think we will have such a freedom in Pembrokeshire for much longer.... " The waitress was really helpful too , drinks were prompt and menus too. The Lawrenny Arms wasn't ruined by someone with no manners but it really won't help for future reviews. Could have had more filling as the pastry was thick. However the pie was tasty. Fish and chips were just average. Mackerel got jobs rather heavy on the coating. Good beer but wine very nondescript.

Lovely food, very friendly staff who accommodated my son's food allergies. Great place to stop for an out of season lunch.

Scones with jam and clotted cream - give them a wide berth! Overcooked scones, indifferent jam and cream best described as a long life alternative that wasn’t palatable.

It’s out of season and two thirty pm, yet this little restaurant/pub managed to make us a wonderful meal, they were so friendly and there were beautiful views, will definitely come again.

Visited this pub while holidaying in the area, was disappointed to find out they don't allow dogs inside the pub. Would have used it more than once if dogs were allowed. Otherwise a nice pub in a great location.

Called in here for food and a shandy on a few occasions when in the area; always found the staff very helpful and the food and service excellent.

Recommended to us by our holiday accommodation owner in Redberth. We arrived in Wales after a very long and arduous drive in horrendous traffic and bad weather. We needed somewhere that did good food and this place was put our way.

For food and atmosphere we couldn’t fault this place. Generous portions and all of good quality, and the waiting staff were all extremely well mannered and helpful. However, the experience was spoiled by a very rude barman (possibly owner?). He lacked basic manners, jumped to conclusions and was snappy. He gave the overall impression that he hated his customers...if that is the case, why run a busy pub!?

Always great food and staff are welcoming. Good choice of pub food. Nice to sit outside and watch the boats sailing past especially early evening. High summer season can be busy as close to a caravan park so suggest you book.

Scenery not all that especially when compared to nearby Cresswell Quay. Certainly don't bother if you just want a drink.

We escaped a downpour here, we weren't planning on lunch, but ordered a sausage sandwich to share and it was great. The place was packed and very busy, but we'll run. The buildings are interesting, a maze of properties joined together, with the brewery downstairs. There's also a shop and coffee shop part of Harbwr. There are many places to eat and drink in Tenby and this one should not be missed

Traditional, characterful pub owned and run by a decent man. Good local customers and selection of drinks. No food but if you want a welcome where you dont have to feel like a holidaymaker, this place is for you.
