Lavas Barbeque Restaurant in Broxbourne

Ordered chicken wrap , on the menu it says , all wraps come with chips , I asked for the chips and they said it was not the case so i paid extra for chips , 🍟

Excellent food, but service needs improvement.

The food is delicious, chicken shish moist with good taste, aubergine with peppers and onions is one of my favourite dishes. The service is excellent very friendly.

Order via uber eats, expected delivery between 8.05-8.35pm, food did not arrive until 9.05pm, called shop twice and they did not have a clue if my order had been prepared or was out for delivery, eventually they called the driver and I was told it was one minute away, really poor service from what is normally one of the best kebab shops in Cheshunt.

Chicken shish is cooked lovely and moist with nice seasoning. However, the mixed shish was very small for the ‘large’ £14 and not much meat. The wrap was disappointing in the way that I had to wrap it up myself with the salad served separate. Kofte wrap tasted nice but was also a small portion for a medium £11.50! I haven’t used lavas for years as I’d hope they would improve as they used to be my favourite in cheshunt 15 years ago. Sorry but I will have to go somewhere else, too expensive. 🤨

Fantastic food always, friendly service.

Food took about an hour and half to come, was stone cold, when speaking to the driver he said he had other deliveries in the car. We rang up to complain and they were not helpful at all. Do not order from there it's a waste of money!!!

As a fussy eater, I can't recommend this place enough. I have had several items from the menu, everything is always fresh, delicious, and service is very quick. Excellent quality, excellent prices.

Ordered 7:40. Told latest delivery would be 8:45. Called @ 9, to be told very busy, already sent out. They called back asking details again, to then say just eat machine malfunction, & would deliver in 20mins fresh.

Nice dinner and also good value, considering most want £100 these days for a kebab enjoyed it and wiil be back.

We were the only ones in there as they had only just opened after 2 or 3 months

Spent 0ver 30 pounds, food was inadequate, for what they charge for the burgers, they was not cooked properly, seems like they use cheap burgers, will not be using this place again 😡😡

Soggy cold chips sent in paper bag sent small portion when paid extra for large portion. Small portion sizes even when paying extra for the mixed kebab.

They got my order totally wrong , and when they tried to rectify it , it was still wrong. I’ll go elsewhere in future.

Placed an order at 6.45 food never arrived after money had left my account. Called up after waiting an hour lady said sorry should be there in 10mins the traffic was bad. Fair enough I said, called back half hour later didn’t answer and then called on a different phone number and they answered within 5secs lady again said sorry he’s 5mins away. 20mins later still no food so called back again to them telling me I never placed an order! Terrible service.

Absolutely awful don’t order from here it doesn’t even rate 1 star We took pictures but sadly doesn’t allow us to share, chicken Shiah had 3 cubes of chicken just dumped in a pitta litterateur smothered in chilli sauce, no salad in the pitta just chicken Doner meat was stone cold and full of gristle and red specs all in it …. Again no salad The chips were like shards of ice and dry as the Saharan dessert of which I asked for them to have burger sauce over but wasn’t I asked for separate pots of sauce as on just eat doesn’t give you the option to order which sauces you wish on your food Don’t ever order from here it’s terrible

All drinks wrong, particularly bad when diet coke ordered for a diabetic and they give sugar loaded normal Pepsi. Burger bun burnt to a cinder have the photo for proof. The one item that was good was chicken shish and donner. So don't order anything else as its pot luck what you get, just order the shish/donner kebab.

Take away kebab (meat only) for the kids, they weren't overly impressed.

Will not order again Donner meat was saltee not nice salad came in tub humus came from a Turkish supper market not home made never again

I would of gave 5 star but repeat service and food quality was awful. Dear restaurant, Earlier this month we ordered the set meal for £40, which was lovely and no missing items. Few days ago, we ordered the combination meal chicken shish and doner, chicken shish wrap, and turkish bread. The food was not at the same standards, shish was burned and dry, doner was like left over mini cuts and the wraps was half eaten as there was hardly any salad. The worst thing was that I mention garlic sauce and chilli for the combination meal and all salad! But both was missing and eating burnt dry shish without sauce or salad is not nice! I even emailed the resturant giving feedback, no reply as of yet. Please note! I have ordered from here before and the food is nice if and when effort is put in preparation.

Greasy! The pitta bread was absolutely drenched in orange grease from the mixed doner it was inedible and there was just a pool of it in the bottom of the container, absolutely disgusting

Food was good, tasty and arrived in good time. However the driver was again giving me a hard time about my broken intercom, which is out of my hands. Makes me hesitate ordering from there again.

Absolutely amazing, best mezé takeaway in the area. Delicious food, great service with friendly staff. Would 100% recommend.

Ordered a doner kebab roll and waited 10 mins for this!? Only two people serving in the shop and they looked like they had a backup of orders that they were trying to get out. Guy acknowledged me but still had his back turned to me for a short time. Strange. Lavas used to be so busy and thriving back in the day. (5-10 years ago) It’s sad. They seemed busy but honestly it’s only a doner roll. That should take no more than 5 mins tops when only customer in there. It’s like they’ve cut back on staff and are running it themselves. Doner didn’t taste the same.. (Cheaper meat and not like lamb more like beef) Sorry guys I’m tired of keeping giving you fresh chances over the years. Very disappointing after all these years living here. Competitors in the area is no excuse to let what was a great business fall down to this standard. 😔

Delicious food, delivered on time. Can't fault it.

Was expecting 4 lamb ribs but received 8 chicken wings. They said just eat need to amend but wanted lamb, so disappointed.

Waited a long time for cold food with really stingy servings of sauce

Probably the worst doner I’ve had in years. So dry and salty. The salad that came with it was so old that it was soft to the touch, the chips we ordered had been fried and left so many times the texture was like biting into shoe laces. The pide was old. I can’t tell you how much this put me in a bad mood. On top of that they scrimped on the chilli sauce. Very disappointing.

Could not fult the food at all and big portions.... went round a treat and arrived nice and hot. The chicken was cooked beautifully and the wrap was well filled. Every one had full and happy tums. My only niggle was the delivery driver who I found quite unfriendly when I greeted him at my door...maybe he was just having an off day? But I would defently order from here again

Absolutely delicious - highly recommend the wraps!

We ordered a lavas special and a set two at 19:06 for pick up and the food wasn’t ready until 19:55. On top of that when we arrived home the Turkish bread was missing and the lamb ribs and lamb chops were missing from both meals. When we tried to phone and no one was answering the phone to try and rectify the issue.

Oily and cold old food, I have emailed them twice and no reply, seems like they have really bad management as the food is old reheated and boxed delivered cold, the lamb donner was old and crusty. I never had a problem with them last few times I have ordered, Maybe they have just given up on the service they used to deliver. The food was horribly smelly and not the same as before. We did not enjoy this at all, will not be ordering again from Lavas turkish.

EXECLENT TAKE WAY AND RESTAURANT

Never ever again. 2 kebabs SWIMMING in sauce and completely ruined. Over an inch of soggy throw up looking ‘sauce’ swimming in both boxes. Mega kebab or go home.

We have a great time and the service was great, the team was very accommodating.

I waited almost 2 hours for my food to have it turn up cold, over cooked and dry. Telephone manner needs improving, talking to other members of staff whilst trying to place a order really frustrated me and then have the cheek to ask me to repeat myself. Delivery driver turns up speaking on he's phone and very rudley hands me my food whilst talking on he's headset. Won't be ordering from here again especially as my replacement food after I complained took another hour

Took my daughter here for her birthday. I have no complaints. We both have allergies and we were looked after. I booked by phone a call back to double check what my allergies were. The lady was friendly and accommodating. The food was quick and delicious. Prices are reasonable. Will visit there again. Thank you lavas

Waited over an hour for food delivery which was only ment to be half hour wait,then when called to say tell them the food was cold and chips like rubber they tell me next time i order ( which wont be happening may i add) they will give me free chips when i spent £20 quid on food which was poor quality i litrally live 2 mins from here but as i have a young child could not get out disgusting will not be ording again or recommending!.

Young lady very rude. Didn't give us any sauces for our kebabs - they were tasty though and the chips weren't very nice.

poor service, always problems with the delivery, promising 50m delivery for a distance of 2 miles and at the end we are calling back again and again to find out when they decided that we can have dinner!!! rubbish excuses all the time, never again! there are better places next door with more decent food and surely much better services!!! if we could give 0 for their services then again it would be too much for them

I used to order from here every week, and I stopped. Every few months I give it a go again and realise why I stopped. If you order more than two items they are guaranteed to forget one. Shame because the foods okay - just bored of eating a main and side half hour apart.

Normally is very good but lately food arrives cold and it is really salty. Chips are not that great either. Very poor tonight. I hope Lavas is back to their normal great standards soon.

I visited Lavas the other evening and ordered Chicken Shish food always First Class and service friendly and efficient. I left my purse in the Restaurant and not only did the owner try to bring it round no one was in. He kept it for me overnight and l picked it up in the morning. extremely nice staff pleasing and really active always and energetic and every time I order they take the order like they really like customers and I'm amazed and so delicious and authentic food and they make the deliverys so quick if you want a really good place go to lavas they are the best in chesunt and they are always far and always serve the food with high quality and always make customers happy

Thought I would try this takeaway again after a while, they still can’t get the order right. This time they forgot the chilli sauce, 🥵. They said they would drop it up, just didn’t bother! Just bad service in general, they take a while to deliver food and to top it off the kebab bread was dry and the kids chicken nuggets where burnt and over cooked! #lavas #notthebestservice

Couple of bits of ropey chicken in the chicken shish. Unfortunately I've had this at the takeaway recently as well. Don't know if it's poor quality meat or just not cooked properly.

The brand new restaurant is lovely. Very friendly service and a welcoming atmosphere with nice surroundings. The waiter made or visit very pleasant and the dessert menu is optimal! Loved the brown derby! Main courses, a big variety and a twist of the normal Turkish cuisine. Lovely :)

Waited 2& half hours, kept ringing & being fobbed off, last hour & 10 mins kept ringing & they said it’s on its way , rang & cancelled & he turned up! Went to crystal kebab, never going to go with lavas again!! terrible service. It felt like we were just being stringed along!!

Has changed hands a few times the food is good and good value but you have a lot of choice in the area but great for take aways

Kebab has turned up cold for the third time in a row from ordering from here over the past couple of months. Will not order from here again.
